Immediately after the confirmation of the usage of a nuclear weapon on Metz-Leonid, the ‘former’ Xsampan capital, has reached the Dual Monarchy; Reichskanzler Beidel reportedly suffered a heart-attack and died before reaching the Bannerhafen Premium (as opposed to General) Hospital. According to his personal secretary the news of Yishelem using their nuclear device have provoked his already weak heart to stop and as such has not only caused the death of millions of people, even worse, it killed Josef Beidel, one of the most beloved people on Terra. Unfortunately for the cabinet there was no time to mourn the loss of one of the single greatest individuals of modern history, Jette Marissen of the Corporate Block has taken over the reins as to avoid unnecessary Orderfaction-VVP bickering. She has ordered troops stationed on the ‘Hope’ (an island near Himmelshtern) to navally invade Beiteynu and march into Himmelshtern. According to local news, after short-lived confusion, resistance was minimal and the people celebrated our troops as liberators. Secretary of the Nisrad Geilberg (VVP) has welcomed Marissen and the troops from Narikaton and Darnussia. They’ve now officially announced that the negotiations with Wrnuke would now be jointly led with the Dual Monarchy and that the Seccession from Beiteynu is final. Martial Law has been put into place in Himmelshtern and the Command over the Yeudish military assets has been transferred to 3rd Point Federation Officials for the time being. They’re only repeating one order “STAND DOWN – FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN COURT MARTIAL --” In response almost the whole navy has either surrendered or retreated back to the Migrants Pass where they are awaiting further orders or developments from whoever now is in Command. Chancellor Marissen publicly stated that “Narikaton and Darnussia will be cooperate with all involved parties to bring the criminals to justice and end this conflict in an orderly fashion. The tragedy that this conflict… and our former allies have caused it unbelieva- unforgivable. We’re calling all assets of Beiteynu or rather- what formerly once was Beiteynu to immediately stand down, otherwise Narikaton and Darnussia will enforce Humanitarian Justice.”

Dual Monarchist Marines in Himmelshtern

With events after events reaching the public eye via headlines the people are faced with new situations everyday. Narikaton and Darnussias new Reichskanzlerin Jette Marissen and Director of Foreign Affairs von Kozaria have jointly revealed some actions that the government in Bannerhafen has decided to take. They’ve stated that “Wiel and Bannerhafen are in constant communication and that there is absolutely zero chance of hostilities between the Jelbic People’s Soviet Republic of Wrnuke and the Dual Monarchy.” Obvious sighs of relief were able to be perceived from the representatives of the media present at the conference. “In addition we’d like to assure the public that we’re continuously sharing intelligence and tasks with our 3rd Point Federation partners to maintain the safety of trade. Large chunks of our forces have returned to normal operations and only one larger task force of the trade-fleet is planned to stay stationed in Himmelshtern, accompanied by this decision to revert the deployment of our own forces to the Pass and our sovereign waters, the remaining naval vessels of the -formerly- Beiteynese navy, which are now under Bannerhafen’s central command, were ordered back to himmelshtern and nearby coastal regions.” These were the subsequent words of von Kozaria, before media hands were raised for questions the Reichskanzlerin already raised her voice again. “We also would like to say that we guarantee the independence of the new independent Nisrad of Sholemberg who has already established the fact that we’re going to maintain amicable relations with each other. This guarantee also extends to Tel Bira who is going to host some of the remaining yeudi institutions.” After a moment of silence from the the two top dogs of the Bannerhafen government media officials were finally able to ask some questions. “Ms. Marissen, what about Xsampa?” The newly empowered Marissen answered rather apathetic: “We’re offering humanitarian help but considering the state of mutual relations its hard to get on the same wavelength, we currently have difficulties establishing a clear line of communication with the currently rebuilding Xsampan government. We’re mostly communicating via Wiel as an intermediary which has proven to once again be a invaluable partner in regional affairs.” The press-liasion interjected “Frau Reichskanzlerin, we only have time for one more question…” immediately the medias jumped up at the chance. “Hello, Fredriksen from Bannerhafen Nachrichten, what about the various global actors trying to get people out or needing assistance?” The Chancellor nodded affirmatively and said “of course; thank you for the question. When it comes to partners with already established relations such as Lodamun we’ve coordinated that our assets are going to assist any lodamese citizens to evacuate from the area. We’ve also managed to organize temporary housing and transport to Narikaton and Clenon-Nihaton if logistics don’t allow immediate transport to Lodamun. Many others have not directly contacted us and we’d ask them to do so, our ears are open, if you need help, Call Bannerhafen.”

Narikaton and Darnussia currently finds itself in a very difficult situation politically. After most of the attention was aimed at Beiteynu and the crimes against humanity its government committed, people are starting to question the future of the Dual Monarchy. Reichskanzlerin Marissen who is technically not even a member of a traditional party and instead had a mandate from the corporate block has used the political pressure from the masses to dissolve parliament in a heated debate against the Orderfaction and Thallerist Conservative Party. Marissen: “[…] I disagree Senator, Narikaton and Darnussia has had enough of authoritarian tendencies and your so called security. The people and the businessmen of our great nation have seen where your ways have led us. The instable Empire and a bunch of insane egomaniacs abusing the institutions of multiple nations prove you wrong! As such I have decided to use the powers currently vested in me, which I have inherited from late Chancellor Beidel, to dissolve Parliament.” Multiple Senators from the OF laugh at the prospect of getting threatened by an election due to the constitutional restrictions on the nature of the electoral process but their amusement was cut short when the Reichskanzlerin continued. “Of course, I think I also need to suspend the Constitution for the time being as we’re in a state of global emergency.” After this announcement the Senate broke out in shouting while other partes especially those of third-parties and some VVP parliamentarians started to applaud. The meaning of this can not be understated as this means that weighted votes and census restrictions are lifted as well as other party-requirements. This means that the next Senate is going to be the most freely elected in centuries. Before Marissen could continue agitated VVP members started to argue heatedly with the Orderfaction. This commotion was used by farmer-party Senators to start using physical violence against the Orderfactionists. “Glory to the Republic, Revenge for Clenonberg!” were the last words perceivable by Marissen before she was escorted out the Senate.

The special elections without the electoral restrictions which has been called by Jette Marissen had unsurprising results. Political experts and opinion pollsters have expected a result within very little margins of error. We’re seeing the Orderfaction (OF) more or less being ousted out of power losing more than 20% of the electorate in comparison to the last Senate election. In addition we’re seeing a resurged Democratic-Republican Party in second place but not in any real competition with the VVP. The conservatives have won by a landslide which mostly got attributed to the Legacy of late Reichskanzler Beidel who is painted by the media and public perception as some sort of steadfast crisis navigator. Summarily described the Dual Monarchy is seeing a drastic shift toward the center-left as other decidedly left-wing parties re-enter Senate. Among them old acquaintances such as the Social Democratic Party and the Landbund as well as newcomers such as the A600 which is a centrist-green party. Since Reichskanzlerin Marissen stands above the Senate and is not touchable by them in any legal sense, she has called the “all parties of the democratic process” which according to pundits excludes the Orderfaction, to form a constitutional convent and “restore the rule of the people.” Experts speculate that the convent is going to be dominated by the traditional large parties of the old Dual Republic; The DRP and the VVP which are likely to dump restrictions introduced by Theodora Lackmann. Speaking of our monarch; She hasn’t been seen leaving her residence on Jorgen Island in ages and official comminques regarding her future are left unanswered, whats happening to her? Well, only time will tell,  for now the Chancellor and her new dynamics in the Senate are busy restructuring the state.

Finally after politicly exhausting months, the constitutional convent called for by Reichskanzlerin Jette Marissen has finally reported its proposal. As expected, the proposal is dominated by the ideas of the VVP and the DRP (who were the "Republicans" but rebranded shortly before the election) who’ve drawn up a system which is clearly inspired by the old Dual Republic but with more hindrances toward smaller partys. These clauses have – understandably – caught the ire of the smaller parties in the Senate. Fortunately for them they’re going to have another chance for changes in a smaller setting together with the Chancellor. This chance is granted since they technically need the votes of the smaller parties for passing a new constitution, additionally there is the fact that Marissen herself is very adamant on wanting to pass it unanimously as a sign of political unity and stability. The press officer of the Chancellory has confirmed that before the next year, the nation is going to have its new constitution. Aside from the obvious return to universal unweighted voting and the removal of census restrictions, there is first-past-the-post planned. According to rumors fueled by Geilberg getting spotted in Bannerhafen leaving the Royal Palace (currently used by the Chancellor) the Nisrad of Himmelshtern which is currently still functionally occupied by Narikaton and Darnussia has agreed to integrate into our nation, the details of which vary strongly depending on who you’re asking. One thing is for certain: It’s getting exciting.

After a final revisit of the constitutional proposals with the Chancellor, the smaller parties have finally agreed to the revised bill. The compromise involved an easing the requirements for acquiring public funding for political parties. Now this leads us to the reintroduction of the familiar position of President and the switch to a first-past-the-post system of elections. This comes as no surprise as the two big parties want to avoid situations like that of late Vanessa zum Clenonberg who managed to win the presidency but no majority. This also is supposed to increase accountability of each candidate as they have to win a direct-mandate from the people. While critics argue that this makes some votes 'worthless' the two traditional parties of the old-DR have won out this battle of the ideas. The Marissen government has been tasked by the Senate to draw up constiuency maps before calling for another election with the new system. This whole process has seen the VVP benefit a lot from the experience of their new prominent leader Graf Gerald Buchu who is a constitutional jurist and was a part of the Lackmann revisions on the previous constitutions too.

Finally the central government under Reichskanzlerin Jette Marissen revealed the final phase of this episode of political uncertainty: Himmelshtern will ascend to be a member state, or more specifically a member republic. You've read this correctly; Narikaton and Darnussia are returning to a republican form together with Himmelshtern as the third part of it's Triple Republic arrangement. This comes as no surprise considering that the current Head of Government of the Nisrad of Himmelshtern is Secretary Richi Geilberg from the VVP, a half Darnussian half Yeudi who has led the Nisrad through the crisis prompted by the Kadiyot-insanity from Yishelem. While the geopolitical situation in the region is still filled with unease and insurmountable tension, Bannerhafen is going to fulfill its promises to Himmelshtern to protect it. Ground Forces already were present in the territory of the former Nisrad, now Himmelshtern's own are going to get integrated into the wider Narik-Darnussian Security Structure. For the time being Marissen stated that Geilberg would remain as the interimist "Administrator" of Himmelshtern until the first elections in the new system and the first ordinary formation of a government appears possible. This statement showcases the political weariness of the general population as the modus operandi of the region has yet to return to normal. Political Analysts explain that this 'ill-will' towards stagnation in this questionable geopolitical period mostly comes from the common-man, the powerful elite has arrangements in place which protect it, their assets are safe and so they continue to engage in decadent behaviour in their Jorgen-Villas.

The newly founded “Triad” what priorly was Narikaton and Darnussia has been quite busy in establishing the new state authority and rebranding the institutions of the nation. What proved to be difficult is the still unstable and not clarified situation of the Beiteynese Sucessor States, the former central authority of Beiteynu, the Nisrad of Yishleme still claims the title of being the Moledet Medinat and shows no sign of surrender. This perpetuates the weird limbo state Himmelshtern finds itself in, somewhere between a semi-independent city-state and a part of the a new central government located in Bannerhafen. Visibly aged Reichskanzlerin Jette Marissen and her technocratic caretaker government still represent the confidence of the provisional Senate Convention on the Future of the Dual Monarchy, the remnant of the former nation-state that was Narikaton-and-Darnussia that still stands. The legislative assembly is still bickering on details on constitutional provisions and norms while the cabinet is working towards establishing information networks and interconnect the state-infrastructure of N&D and Himmelshtern. Administrative officials stated in anonymous comments that this appeared less challenging a few years ago when the integration process began. Harald Unteroberberg, a representative which acts a mediatory between Bannerhafen and Richy Geilberg, the secretary of Himmelshtern found more concrete words. “There is a lot of uh… corruption and other personel purge- uh.. cleaning measures to finish, we’re currently replacing the whole political and system as well as the officials. It is something of a re-opening if you want to put it in business terms.” At the same time the Highest Financial Authority in Bannerhafen is trying to find ways to finance the enormously bloated naval force the new nation has inherited from combining the great Armada and the formerly Beiteynese Navy. What is adding to the troubles is the brewing diplomatic momentum against the presence of Bannerhafen in Dovani. For a century now Narikaton and Darnussia has maintained a positive and mutually beneficial foreign policy in Dovani generally, for example New Verham and Nsanlosa. What was a major project back in the day was the joint renovation and reconstruction of the Midway channel, part of the deal was shared control contracts between the two governments, Midway retains the last-say in all matters but has agreed to international arbitrage in events of legal conflicts. Now political developments in the region see a rise in negative publicity, time will tell what the future might brings, there has not been commentary from the Directorate of the Foreign Affairs yet.
