The last four years of Kundrati may have been the most turbulent and eventful since the end of the Second Kundrati War. In fact, political observers in Kundrati have wondered if everything that has happened was truly what happened - and if it was either the right call or the wrong call.

We start with the death of President Jozef Otčenáš, where his son Ludvik blamed communists for trying to destroy the nation and the faith. Riots continued all the way to the election, which was held in November 5668. At that time, everyone was campaigning with the vanguards, including the Kundrati People's Party, the APPA (renamed to the Social Democratic Labour Party), and independents, who were fighting electorally for every district of Kundrati. In fact, the fight was so fierce that the vanguards continued to riot with their paramilitary and semi-paramilitary forces against the Armed Forces and members of the SDLP and KPP.

The election results were thus: out of 450 seats available, the Kundrati People's Party won 203 seats, the Vanguards won 109, the SDLP won 100 seats, and independents won the remaining 38 seats. For the Presidential election contested by Hadrian Dindaeru of the Kundrati People's Party, Ludvik Otčenáš of the Vanguards, Nearko Zañartu of the SDLP, and Stansislav Herasymchuk as an independent, it was seen that Herasymchuk won the election with a 48.2% vote compared to Ludvik's 21.7%, Dindaeru's 18.6% and Zañartu's 11.5%. A second round was held on 8 December with Hersaymchuk winning 78.1% of the vote compared to Ludvik's 21.9%.

The Vanguards cried foul and, immediately after the second round of votes and the National Assembly seat counts were confirmed, massive riots broke out throughout the north and center of the country, especially in Kasaema and in the state of Lirnak. In fact, in Lirnak, the state government building was taken over, and mass killings began as Vanguardists went towards anyone who identified as a KPP or SDLP voter and killed them without mercy. In fact, in some cases, they were tortured openly in many gruesome ways that we cannot publish before being killed. In Kasaema, there were reports of voting booths and some government buildings being burnt or almost being burnt, with similar scenes being found in Lirnak.

The inauguration was scheduled for 1 January 5669. The military, in a joint statement across all branches, warned that violence will not be tolerated and that any attempt to disrupt state institutions or the inaguration will not be tolerated and will be clamped down on. Riots and killings continued in Lirnak for five days after the election on 23 December. On that date, the military moved in and declared martial law in Lirnak. All at once, military units swarmed into the state and began to mass arrest anyone found looting government buildings alongside anyone torturing or killing others. In fact, the military set siege to government buildings already taken by Vanguardists. Most of them fell after a few more days, but one, the State Government Building in Tomasadyn, held out until 27 January.

The siege of the Tomasadyn SGB was fierce as the Armed Forces attempted to land helicopters on the rooftop, though they were held back by RPGs and sniper fire, which left a couple of soldiers dead and 4 helicopters downed. Hundreds, then thousands of military troops attempted on 28 December, 29 December, 2 January, 8 January, and 15 January to enter the building; however, they were unable to for various reasons. The siege continued even after the situation in Kasaema happened on 1 January.

On 27 January, after having refused to use Air Force units to bomb the building into submission until now, the order came in from the President that the building would be bombed. By this time, numerous attempts by Vanguardists to reinforce the SGB had failed, though at the cost of many military troops' lives. In fact, after the situation in Kasaema was quelled, there were many Vanguardists who tried to push their way past. They were shot dead without any attempt at mercy or arrest. But on 27 January, the Air Force got their order and, using bombers and fighters, they began to bomb the building mercilessly. Artillery units were also brought in to destroy the building, which was quickly accomplished. Once that was dealt with, paratroopers came in, and the Army units, now swelled into the thousands, pushed into the SGB and killed anyone they could find.

But we should go back to Kasaema and the rest of the country. Surprisingly, in Peghonai and in Pilgon, the situation was calmer as the military action in Lirnak continued to be significant enough to force every other state into submission - though the southern states and Etxea were firmly in support of the government of Herasymchuk. But in Kasaema, things would be very different. On inauguration day itself, on 1 January 5669, riots erupted in Kasaema as usual. However, this time, a major riot consisting of 18,000 individuals attempted to siege the National Assembly building. Their push towards the NA building, where the inauguration was being held, turned into a violent riot as the President was evacuated via a secret tunnel to the Ministry of Finance building, and the military was called in to quell the riot.

The rioters pushed and even made their way inside the National Assembly building. Inside, it was a slaughter as both sides killed each other and looted from each other in ways unseen since at least the Second Kundrati War. Tear gas, pepper spray, and more were used in an attempt to push each other back; however, by 3 pm, it was decided that the rioters were better off dead. Automatic weapons and machine guns were placed in key locations aimed directly at the rioting crowd. The crowd was forced to retreat outside as many of them were shot dead without mercy. The bodies were so piled up that people inside were trapped, and the military had to come inside via the breaking of windows and other areas. The rioters who remained were arrested.

The inauguration was rescheduled for the day after. The night of the riots, the President declared martial law and the suspension of habeas corpus. The military thus moved into every state and forced compliance. The southern states, having already agreed with the government, easily complied and enacted their own measures. The northern states, besides Lirnak, and having seen the violence, also complied, though there were brief hotspots of violence which were themselves quelled. Lirnak remained, though, as we've seen, they would be quelled mostly.

The situation in Lirnak, after 28 January, was calmer as the city saw numerous military troops, almost on every block, patrolling for any violence. The outskirts were not calm - in fact, they wouldn't remain calm even today, though there were fewer and fewer instances of Vanguardist violence. Not many severe incidents have come out.

However, the question of the Vanguard Kundrati Worker's Party and their leader, Ludvik, would be very much solved. On 4 January, they were banned outright. Ludvik would go into hiding, and a manhunt was tasked with capturing him. Rumors abounded that he left for Baltusia or Davostag, that he was in Lirnak, that he died in the 28 January siege, that he died in Kasaema, or that he left for somewhere like Endralon or Kirlawa. It would take two more years of consistent looking they find Ludvik, hidden in a bunker that was his hideout. He was guarded by 10 other people alongside his family in northwestern Lirnak.

The siege of Ludvik's bunker on 18 July 5671 was the most recent major action regarding the Vanguardists. After spending two years trying to rile up the Lirnak and northern population into rebellion using various posters, radio broadcasts, and the like, he was found. He had moved to bunkers throughout the state, first near Tomasadyn, then near the border with Peghonai, before finally settling in January 5671 in that bunker. The bunker was surrounded, and troops moved in to attack the bunker; however, Ludvik's guards put up a fierce fight trying to prevent any troops from capturing the family of Ludvik. In fact, Ludvik himself was wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying an automatic weapon. However, one by one over the next two days, the guards went down. Then the family. Then him. They were all killed off in various gruesome ways, so gruesome that we cannot publish what happened beyond that.

Their bodies were taken by secret vans and boxes to a container ship in northern Peghonai. The coffins were taken out to sea, far from Artania, and simply dumped.

The rest of the term was full of various political and economic reforms to open up Kundrati to capitalism. Companies were nationalized or denationalized according to state needs and their value to the economy. Work has slowly begun on the examination of gold mines; however, this continues to this day, and not much has come out of it. In addition, work on rebuilding the country continues as the President begins to promote an ideology of multiculturalism and a much saner foreign policy.

And now the upcoming elections, called by the President, for 16 January 5673. The KPP and the SDLP are expected to run with Herasymchuk running as well. The conservatives have begun to flock back to the KPP, with the left relying on the SDLP. And the Vanguardists, banned from politics, may try to run as independents or otherwise leave politics. However, the military has warned that any Vanguardist or former Vanguardist who tries to run for politics will be removed and prohibited from political dealings until the threat has passed.

And thus it was.

A Kundrati nation, captured for nearly an entire century in the hate arisen from the Legion and from the Vanguardists, will have to rebuild itself as a nation that is deserving of a place in the world. Unfortunately this rebuilding effort will have to take decades. It took us an entire century to get to this point and it may take an entire century to get us out of the hole we dug ourselves in and back to a place where we were respected in Terra.

In fact, while we have begun to root out the hate that has come from the Legionarism and Vanguardism that has popped up throughout our country we cannot be sure that we have done so firmly. We cannot say that we, the Kundrati nation and people, have managed to survive this. We have had two major wars affect us and an entire occupation by foreign powers as a result of the actions of Sladek and his cronies. Never again. Never again must our country be occupied by foreigners. But we have to ensure so by being a liberal democratic country that values the rule of law and the value of diversity, equity and inclusiveness. Otherwise we will be occupied again by foreigners and the Kundrati nation will be no more.

In Lirnak especially there still remains the scum of the Vanguardist and Legionary. An entire siege of the state has been done and continues to this day and we still hear of various crimes done by these barbarians who, being imported from our country from Yishelem long ago, continue to spread into a evil that permeates the land. Every day there are reports of crimes from murder to robbery in our major cities in that state alone. Tomasadyn, while it still has military troops, still has to cope with Legionary and Vanguardist crimes almost every week. The mountains themselves are a no go for anyone who isn't a Legionary or a Vanguardist; we are only able to have peace in Lirnak when we destroy the existence of the Legionary and the Vanguardist.

However I must say that when I say Legionary and Vanguardist they are just Ordosocialists. Ordosocialism, the scum that grew from our naviete into a dictatorship that held slavery, cannibalism, war crimes, and more has not left our lands - obviously because of the existence of those who favor Sladek over inclusiveness.

Ordosocialists have begun to take root in the state government of Lirnak. They are also in the civil service more generally - and understandably so. It has been almost a century of Ordosocialists taking over our country hence understandably the ideology was trained on every man, woman and child within the last 90 years. We are only lucky that the Kundrati Union, which is the rightful state that existed in Etxea and which claimed all of Kundrati, existed to try and root out this evil. They have been very successful in Etxea and more so in the southern states. In the north, however, work has to be done.

We've spoken of Lirnak. But we must speak of Peghonai and Pilgon. With respect to the Davostager and the Hutori occupation governments they have left a condition which allowed Ordosocialist vanguardists to take over our country again and left it to rule for another 40 years. Luthori and the Kundrati Union have managed to leave things stable enough so that vanguardists were unable to take control except by force and fabrication. However it is shameful that the north, occupied by Hutori and Davostag, allowed the Ordosocialist vanguardists to rise again. In the civil service in Peghonai and Pilgon, there are still many Ordosocialists. In fact, popular politicians who do not belong to the rightful Social Democratic Labour Party or the Kundrati People's Party in those states more than likely believe in the Ordosocialist ideology. They need to be rooted out. We must ask whether or not they - and those in Lirnak still in the shameful ideology - still deserve their Kundrati passports.

We must remember, in every election from this point onwards, what words and actions they have done and said to us. Those actions and words thrown onto the innocent people throughout our country who have never subscribed to evil must be permanently remembered. We must take major steps, whether through a purge of lives or a purge of paperwork, to kill Ordosocialism in our country oncemore.

Some may say this opinion piece may be extreme or that it is harsh. Where were you when our country was occupied by fascism or Ordosocialism for 90 years? Where were you when the occupation of the northern states left fascist Ordosocialism to rise again? Where were you when chemical weapon missiles landed in Etxea or in Kalistan? Where were you?

An occupation of our entire country by foreign powers did not root out Ordosocialism. Efforts by the Kundrati Union and Luthori, however wonderful and effective they were, still didn't work out because fascist Vanguardists took over our country again. Economic and general sanctions did not root out Ordosocialism.

This current military dictatorship, and yes it is a military dictatorship, but the current military dictatorship works. We need it. We require it. We require this so that we can ensure that Ordosocialism, currently the largest tree in eastern Artania, can be chopped up and the roots in the grass grabbed and taken away.

I must warn, though, that if we were to do this with our own murderous streak that we would be no better than those who were Ordosocialist themselves. I ask that we do a purge of the citizenship rolls and deport anyone who was an Ordosocialist, a Vanguardist, or a Legionary. We will deport them to Endralon, Telamon, Xsampa or Vascania. There they will meet their final fate. If we have to deport them to Kalistan, it shall be. But we will not mass execute them unless they have acted against the Union.

For this is our motto: Glory to the Kundrati Union.

The Kundrati People's Party has lasted for a long time - even surviving the Vanguardists - however now they are one of only two major parties fighting in this election given the military's actions throughout the country from four years ago onwards. In fact they were the ruling party in the Kundrati Union in Etxea during it's entire existence and they are the son of the former Kundrati Democracy which was the major conservative party long ago.

Their manifesto, thus, somewhat reflected that history - and the history of being a marginalized party of the Vanguardist regime. The Kundrati People's Party has said that they will present three major themes if they were to win the Presidency and the National Assembly: reclamation, restoration, removal. Let's talk about these three themes in detail:

Before the Legionaries took over the state there was a law passed called the Law of Return. This act allowed any Selucian, Lurrian or descendents of the two to, if they wished, immigrate to Kundrati and immediately be granted citizenship. Today, given the state of the Kundrati nation of ruin throughout the land and as the population emigrates to other better countries the Legebiltzarra has passed a law, signed by the President on the same day, called the Law of Return Act 5672.

The Law of Return Act 5672, to put it simply, allows any person of the Delic, Lurrian or Selucian race and their descendents to, if they wish, immigrate to the Kundrati Union and be granted the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. They will be able to keep their citizenship conditional on staying in Kundrati for at least a year and participating in the responsibilities of citizenship including the payment of taxes, voting, and various other duties. The law also says that this citizenship shall be transferrable to the immigrant's children indefinitely and that for all intents and purposes the family shall be treated as full Kundrati citizens.

The Law of Return Act also allows the judicial system, if they suspect the immigrant of being here in bad faith through either manipulating their citizenship for criminal duties or participating in treasonous actions, to deport the individual back to the country that they came from and to revoke their citizenship and the citizenship of their family on a case by case basis. The family would be allowed to appeal to the Supreme Court of the Kundrati Union in this case.

While current conditions are not ideal for mass immigration the Kundrati Union hopes that this measure will provide for some help in terms of retaining their population and having enough manpower to work on infrastructure projects to rebuild the country. Already work has begun on immigrant camps to provide some means of housing for anyone wishing to take advantage of the Law of Return alongside general camps to provide housing for the homeless and the needy.

We here at the Kasaema Guardian are proud to announce the election results for the third-ever free election of the Kundrati people after the Legionary rule. The Legebiltzarra and the President have both been elected to a five-year term, and for both it is great news for the long-standing Kundrati People's Party. In fact, the election result was so commanding for the Kundrati People's Party that they did not require a coalition government. Let's break down the results.

The National Assembly, or Legebiltzarra, has been elected for its new term with 270 seats for the Kundrati People's Party of the centre to conservative range, 150 seats for the Social Democratic Labour Party of the left, and 40 independent seats. We labelled 10 seats under a different color, though they would also count as independents for the time being. This means that the Kundrati People's Party will have a wide ability to pass laws and possibly pass constitutional amendments with the assistance of the SDLP. Rumors are abound that the SDLP and the KPP could form a national unity government to steer the Kundrati Union out of their Legionary/Vanguardist/Ordosocialist past and towards a brighter future.

And now for the Presidential election, which was somewhat more low-key than others. The SDLP fielded their candidate, a man called Esteben Arizu, who advocated against what he described as the seven evils of Kundrati: plague, poverty, hatred, oligarchy, destitution, injustice, and despair. The KPP, on the other hand, fielded a candidate called Claudius Hadriana who supported the three Rs of the KPP manifesto and called for a legal purge of Vanguardists and otherwise a call for national unity among the Lurrian and Delic races.

The results for the Presidential election were thus: Hadriana won 58.1% of the vote while Arizu won 40.9% of the vote. The rest were spoiled ballots or smaller candidates that did not get 0.1% of the vote.

And so it is that we congratulate Claudius Hadriana as our new President of the Kundrati Union, and we congratulate the new Members of the Legebiltzarra for their new journey.

Kundrati now walks under a new formal government, their second free government since Tiberius Claudius Nero's a long time ago. The Kundrati People's Party and the Social Democratic Labor Party will be members of the cabinet and thus will have sufficient support to pass constitutional amendments and rule by fiat. However, this rule will try to destroy any hope of a Vanguardist, Legionarist, or Ordosocialist revival for good - that is what President Hadriana said.

Most of the posts will be occupied by the Kundrati People's Party, which includes the defense ministry, foreign affairs, and infrastructure. However, the Social Democratic Labor Party will have the posts of Minister of Education, Minister of Labor and Manpower, Minister of Finance, Minister of Human Affairs, and Minister for Science and Research, among many other lower posts. Reportedly, the SDLP Minister of Education is already about to release a new plan to overhaul the Kundrati educational system, a system that has needed reform for the last 40 years.

The President, Claudius Hadriana, also announced a new legal purge of the judiciary, executive, and political sphere of former Vanguardists and Legionarists. The purge will target individuals' political rights and examine whether they had gleefully participated in the Vanguardist system or if they were forced to partake in these actions. For this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Armed Forces will conduct various mandatory interviews and perform research using the old Legionary and Vanguardist state archives, alongside examining their current rhetoric and actions.

Individuals who have knowingly participated or gleefully participated in the actions of the Legion or the Vanguard Kundrati Workers' Party will be stripped of their offices, military ranks and awards, pensions and be forbidden from running for office, voting, owning a business that relates to government, the media, and any public or semi public position, participating in a business in those sectors just mentioned, exclusion from the judiciary, journalism, education or professional organizations, and the loss to keep and bear arms for a period of from ten years to life and will be decided by a dedicated court on a case by case basis examining the relevant evidence. The courts will be held to a strict interpretation of the law and strict guidelines on the determination of decisions from the evidence provided to ensure impartiality and prevent corruption. Appeals can be made to the President of the Kundrati Union only if recommended by the Supreme Court.

Cabinet members of former Legionary or Vanguardist governments, holding certain high-ranking posts in slavery and death camps of the Legion or high-ranking posts of manpower organizations in the Vanguard, high-ranking members of the VKWP or the Legion, or high-ranking members of collaborationist organizations will have a minimum sentence of death by firing squad.

Individuals who have been found guilty but who will not be executed will have to sign a legally binding oath at the start of their sentence that ensures they will be loyal to the Kundrati Union, to the democratic institutions, to the maintenance of a peaceful international world, and to refrain from using violence in political matters or threatening to use violence for political matters. That oath will remain in effect for the rest of their lives, and breaking that oath will constitute breaking parole and will land them in jail, with their restored rights being stripped for a longer period to be determined by the court system. The judicial members of Legionary or Vanguardist courts will also be examined and punished in similar ways, though by separate courts.

When asked if this would increase the workload of the court system, the President said that it would, but that measures will have to be taken to ensure that fascist or Ordosocialist thought never comes to power again. He does not expect that this work will be finished by the end of his term, but work will have to be done anyway, and it will have to take as long as it needs to.
