As Egelion continues its Age of Prosperity, many have begun to wonder: are changes necessary to those leading the nation. Since the establishment of the absolutist regime during the reign of King Amadeo, many justified the use of absolute power in order to quickly fix the country. Egelion for centuries existed under the absolute and dictatorial leadership of the Lariano Party. They sucked dry the culture, environment, and economy of Egelion for personal greed. This led to serious civil wars and constant conflicts throughout the nation's history. Once the royalists from House Montalivet took over, they established a limited absolute monarchy. While power was vested within the monarch, some forms of democracy were established. 

During Amadeo's reign, he rid himself of complete absolute power and instead opted to have a Royal Court: a group of nobles from all of Egelion's duchies to help better represent the people and decentralize power. For several reigns and years, this system has brought peace and stability to Egelion. Direct leadership and decision making has been nothing but positive for the nation. As a global power, Egelion of course will have its critics over how the country is run, yet its most vocal ones exist in Caille.

The Caillean People's Party, a leftist party that has always sought after constitutionalism, is now sending shockwaves through the country as their leftist-constitutionalist manifesto is beginning to make headlines. The CPP is calling for an end to the absolutist nature of Egelion's government and calling for true representation in decision-making. The CPP wants the Royal Court to have official legislative power -- and the Royal Council to serve as the upper chamber. The Royal Court would have the power to propose and enact legislation whereas the Royal Council would serve as an executive power. The monarch would mostly be ceremonial, but it is being proposed that he would have power to appoint those in the Royal Council--upon legislative approval.

The details of the CPP proposed constitution are going viral. Many people seem to agree with the CPP and their manifesto in most of its entirety. With the current Conservative government beginning to slide down in the polls, many are looking to the CPP for an overall change in ideology. While stability and prosperity are currently being felt, one might wonder what a division of power might mean for Egelion and for the world.

Petróleón and Villar & Zepeda have doubled down on their bid to access The Rossfadda Oil and Gas Field in New Englia. The two companies, both with well-respected and stable investment returns, have reiterated their willingness to see New Englia grow as a strong partner in the region. Villar y Zepeda, who funds the Real Academia's ventures on the world stage, has reliable history funding Egelian companies as they expand abroad. The institution's strict investment procedures makes their investments sought ought by multiple companies who see Villar y Zepeda's stability as extremely attractive.

In the case for Petroenglia,  Petróleón's mission is to specifically assist the company with what it calls the "4E Platform": Engineering, Education, Extraction, and Exporting. Petróleón is seeking investments from Villar y Zepeda to help New Englia from a systematic and institutional standpoint. This would provide the nation a solid curriculum for future workers and to enhance the nation's knowledge on how to work within the sector. 

Finally,  Petróleón will assist in extracting oil and exporting it - the latter using the assistance of Egelian shipping giant Novantica. this step, followed by all the others, is the most important.  Petróleón wants Petroenglia to be experts at extracting and exporting. With solid investments and guidance on all levels of the sector's growth, Petroenglia is being geared for success. While other bidding nations may have other solutions for the extracting process, Egelion's financial institutions bring stability and education throughout the entire process. "It is not just about making money. It is about building something worthwhile to improve the lives of people. What we are doing here starts at the local level and brings innovation and education to the top", concludes Carvajal.

As the national government begins to flit with the idea of constitutionalism in the country, several international organizations are starting to set up shop in Altea. Last month, it was the International Motion Picture Academy, who have started looking for new places to film. Last week, it was the  Council of Localities for International Cooperation (CLIC). The most recent addition is the Human Rights Council. The council recently closed its regional office in Eroncourt, which has slowly become a place of lesser importance throughout the years. The HRC opened at Casa Trebole, an ex-estate of Egelian human rights activist Agustin Trebole. The HRC's office in the highly regarded Sorsuela District is a new sign of Egelion's transition towards more progressive policies and interests in a new era of internationalism.

The HRC's office is headed by Cristina Velasco, a human rights lawyer previously employed by the Egelian government. Her and the team of 125 workers are tasked with ensuring human rights are safeguarded and guaranteed in Egelion. their priority is to restore some sort of legislative power to the nation. While Egelion is a prominently liberal nation with no restrictive laws, there is still plenty of work to do to reform the legislative and judicial systems. The HRC is actively promoting for reforms in the nation while working with the existing powers to enact change. Velasco stated that the HRC is "focusing on promoting constitutionalism and a return to legislative power. While we are not concerned with existing abuses to human rights, we wan to expand on them instead."

Emperor Leon Alexander and the Royal Council have made no direct comment on the opening of the office, but sources close to El Capitolio say that the Emperor himself is "eager" to work with the HRC on improving the political situation in Egelion. While the nation's absolutist government comes into reconsideration, many have already welcomed the establishment of the Human Rights Council. "We are not here to prove anything or to stoke divisions. We are simply here to assist a movement that seems organically born from the passage of time. This is the most stable place where we can do our work without a pause."

With the Egelian energy sector currently making moves for an expansion in New Englia, other sectors such as travel and tourism are beginning to capitalize on their own success. Aeroleon, one of Egelion's larger companies and global megacorporation, has a announced a new series of expansions and modernizations it enters anew era of service. The most simple of all changes, the company has noticeably changed its logo to match Egelion's national colors: burgundy and gold. The company stated this change would be reflected in the airline fleet going to and from the nation. 

The second change Aeroloen is undergoing is the upgrades to its maintenance crews at international airports. Crews at Aeroleon's hubs abroad will receive pay increases, new and modern training, as well as new accommodations for international partners who are on connecting flights. This seemingly quality-of-life upgrades are meant to focus on the well-being and professional growth of Aeroleon's workers who are the main foundation of the company's success. The third change, mostly industrial, involves Aeroleon's own model of airliners. The Aeroleon MAX-300s and the MAX-500s will all be receiving major upgrades to their engines and their cabins. The jets will receive new products provided by Leonex and Aviantica. The purpose of these changes, according to CEO Valverde, is to improve the overall longevity and strength of the MAX line planes. With new expansions and services being provided worldwide, Aeroleon wants to ensure the best product and supreme quality is maintained.

Aeroleon is already looking for new partners and locations where the company can set up. Currently, the company is looking at Valruzia, New Englia, and Dundorf to establish new travel hubs for the company to begin operations. Talks of creating new subsidiaries in Luthori to even further expand the company's role in global travel are in the works as well. Overall, Aeroleon is expanding its horizons -- just as the company's model states -- to help provide quality service to many of Terra's passengers. Commercial success in the aviation field is largely held by Aeroleon, who continue to give the best services at home and abroad.

As the exhilarating bidding process for contracts in the New Englian Rossfadda Field continues, Petróleón has given a final statement regarding its own bid to take part in the extraction and export of the resources. Previously, Petróleón announced its intentions in the press with a joint effort that included Villar y Zepeda and Banco Santamer. This effort included the protocol that Petróleón called the "4E Platform". The 4E Platform included:

• Education - Grants and funding from the Real Academia and the EIF to create long term acadmic solutions and sustainability for New Englia's future production and export of oil and gas based products.
  
• Engineering - Assisting New Englia in engineering solution such as training new workers and providing state-of-the-art facilities to lessen the infrastructure load on future extraction sites. 
  
• Extraction -  Petróleón's own engineers, architects, and crews would provide New Englia with the necessary materials and personnel to safely and efficiently extract resources.
  
• Exporting - Assist New Englia with exporting resources such as port expansions, quality shipping materials, and access to safe international shipping lanes. 
  

This platform is the entirety of Egelion's bid. Similar to how Egelion has invested in partners such as Bianjie, New Verham and Xsampa, this would be no different.  Petróleón's efforts seek to provide New Englia with long terms solutions to be able to sustain itself in the long run. While still a developing economy, New Englia would need the infrastructure and expertise built up over a long period of time to keep the project a success--something that Petróleón and the Real Academia could easily continue.

CEO Fernando Carvajal was asked about the strength of the bid and claimed that Egelion's bid, valued between 1 billion Crowns up to almost 2.5 billion Crowns (if further services reach a contract) will remain but not be expanded upon. Many claimed that the CEO was losing interest, but it was not the case. "Listen, there are many factors that come into play when bidding for such an attractive contract. We must keep in mind the economy, the community, and the services we hope to provide. In this case, we're not only worrying about extracting and refining, but we have to deal with how this might impact local economies and individuals. I believe we have the expertise and resources to provide a stable, long-term plan. Yet, we must also be realistic in what we are willing to allocate. It is a large project and we must be fiscally responsible in our efforts to ensure we stay on the side of cooperation, not exploitation", stated Carvajal. 

When asked about other bidders, Carvajal stated that New Englia should be quite satisfied with the deals and bids it has received. Yet, he went on to mention hat in the past, several nations have applauded Petróleón's services, considering the several deals with other countries on exporting and extraction. The Egelian Investment Fund, who will be part of the bid, has also been partly funded by Petróleón's surplus funds, showing that the company is in fact profitable--and that profits are returned. Carvajal pointed out over assistance in new ports and export centers in New Englia. "Villar y Zepeda, our partners in this bid, are experts in that field. They have helped fund several port expansion effort such as those in Xsampa and Tukarali--even those in Egelion. Their investments have led to a positive outcome in each nation. If we are talking about stable funding and committed long-term expertise, Egelion's bid should be chosen."

Castillo Garibaldi made an announcement today about the annual exercises of the Egelian Royal Air Force taking place in the Duchy of Yadraz. The exercises, which were planned to be larger than any regular exercise beforehand, are focused on three main areas: logistics, reconnaissance, and interception. The Egelian Royal Air Force, undoubtedly one of the best-i-f not the best in Terra-- has had no major issues in each of these areas. Thanks to experience in several theatres of intervention in the past, the Royal Air Force has much to offer. What is more significant about these exercises is the partial participation of Valruzia and Kalistan. Since the ratification of the Altea Accords, Egelion has been explicit in its attention towards anything military related. Before the start of the annual exercises, Altea reached out to the members of the accords to state the intention of the exercises in Yadraz. Communications between the accord states led to the interest of participation from Kalistan and Valruzia. Both were invited and are currently a part of major exercises. 

Kalistani F/A-10s and K-18 interceptors joined the ranks of the Egelian Royal Air Force. Valruzian fighter jets also joined the fight, but their exact unit was kept classified for reasons of national security. Both nation were involved in Egelion's "Toreros" Exercises. Put simply, the Toreros Exercises is an air-to-air "dogfight" exercises focusing on rapid response missions and intercepting enemy aircraft. Egelion's new stealth fighters, the EC-99E and the LX-35 jets were making their debut in these exercises. After years of development and craft, their lethality, stealth, and modernity were finally put on stage. The Torero exercises showed several areas of strength and improvement for all nations who participated. Issues on communication and battle plans were the main area for improvement. The stealth and rapid response by all three nations were most impressive. All nations and their equipment are well suited to fight off and defend against any modern air force currently in Terra--a remarkable statement from Altea Accord nations.

Royal Councilor Montalivet, overseer of the Armed Forces, also stated that the ATENEA Missile System was also a part of the exercises. Birthed directly and reverse-engineered from the Lourennais SOTERIA system, the Atenea System includes all secondary equipment from the air force. This system includes Egelion's ICBMs, Hypersonic Weapons, Satellites, Drone System, and Missile Defense Systems. All of these elements played a major part in the exercises. The ATENEA system was able to track and find all aircraft used in the simulations. Drones were tested in the eastern Yadraz Mountain range. their exercises focused on successfully destroying targets while remaining stealthy and rapid. 

Overall, one of the most important tests were the ones involving the nation's ICBMs and Hypersonic weaponry. These highly limited and special items were limited to the far northern parts of Egelion, away from any neighboring regions or countries. The exercises tested the satellite and radar capabilities of the Atenea systems. While no missiles were directly launched, Castillo Garibaldi has stated that it may conduct tests in the near future, but had no concerns with the effectiveness and range of the Atenea System. Overall the exercises in Yadraz proved one thing: Altea and those within the Altea Accords, remain significantly powerful nations with bountiful resources. While there is space for improvement on all sides, there is no denying that the Royal Air Force holds an edge over several military powers around the world.
