Investments into Banana plantations begin; Gaduri Agricultural to come back to life.

Efforts to revive the Gaduri Agricultural Sector have begun as investments, both from the state and from foreign companies (in this case, Luthorian private companies have begun investing into supporting these banana plantations) to ensure that the Gaduri Agricultural Sector can be capable of some self production, and ensure another avenue of money for Gaduridos via agricultural goods. These plantations will ensure that not only can jobs be provided to the masses, but Gaduridos will have a new asset, both for internal usage (such as consumption of bananas), but also for foreign trade to supply other nations with bananas.

With the Gaduri climate perfect for banana plantations, Gaduridos could find itself entering a good market and with private companies looking to invest into Gaduri agriculture, the state finds itself with a burden lifted off of itself. Irregardless, this effort will provide new jobs, and help the economy as more goods can be made available to Gaduri and to the global market. Particularly on Vintalli, these plantations will provide new jobs, local growth, development and most importantly, money for Gaduridos. As the economy grows, a diverse economy is always important to maintain, and as such, supporting agriculture is a no brainer. It helps achieve a diverse economy, provides valuable food for domestic production and jobs. While it may not define the economy as oil does, it will be important for a diverse economy.

Whatever the case, these plantations may be the first of many in reviving the Gaduri Agricultural Sector. While it remains sparse, and leaves a lot to be desired, this can be the first step in establish a strong agriculture sector, and as an added bonus, it allows for easier improvement to local delicacies without having to import bananas from elsewhere. Alongside that, Gaduridos can begin the first steps to spreading its culinary dishes to the world should the private sector do so. Irregardless, these efforts will provide new jobs, a new avenue of growth for the economy and the first steps to diversification.

RE: Gaduridos - Elena1012 - 01-11-2024

Civil Work Administration and Civil Labour Administration created; The quest for a more perfect Republic.

In an effort to both fight unemployment, and to allow for better work conditions (alongside cementing class collaborative ideals), two new government administrations have been created. The Administración de Obras Civiles (Civil Work Administration) and the Administración Civil del Trabajo (Civil Labour Administration). The AOC will have the task of ensuring work is available should the private sector fail to provide employment for Gaduri, and allow unemployed Gaduri to be employed in government contracts. This will hopefully ensure that every Gaduri can find an opportunity for employment, whether it be with the state, or the private sector. Alongside that, the AOC will ensure that manpower is available for any government projects.

On the other hand, the ACT will focus on ensuring work conditions, for both state and private workplaces are legally binding, and adhere to regulations. The ACT will ensure workplace safety, conditions and the like. But most importantly, it will handle labour disputes. It will act as a mediator and ensure negotiations between labour unions and companies. This will direct the nation into a more corporatist direction and ensure that the class collaborative rhetoric that the Yepes Presidency has supported is actually enacted.

The creation of both these administrations will help direct the nation towards a class collaborative welfare state, and not only ensure every Gaduri has an opportunity at employment, but ensure that the economy can't be strangled by major strike and ensure negotiations will occur. Plus, workplaces will be kept safe, secure, sanitary, and well maintained. The push for class collaboration in Gaduridos may perhaps provide new horizons for all Gaduri.

RE: Gaduridos - Elena1012 - 02-11-2024

The Right to a Living Wage; Efforts begin to ensure a livable minimum wage.

The Right to Social Security and the Right to Adequate Housing have been secured so far. Now, the Yepes Presidency has begun efforts to secure another right; the Right to a Living Wage. As it stands, Gaduri Minimum Wage is relatively inadequate. It's enough to make ends meet, but oftentimes may not be enough. The Yepes Presidency is determined to challenge this trend and make a minimum wage livable for every Gaduri citizen. While there are those will lay opposition to it on the grounds of preventing higher prices, the government will take point on that, and ensure that prices remain affordable for all Gaduri. While some corporations will bemoan at losing some profit instead of having to raise prices to compensate, the Yepes Presidency is certain that this will provide long term benefits.

The focus is on making the minimum wage livable, so that every Gaduri can have the avenue to achieve a comfortable life. As such, the minimum wage will obviously be raised, adjusted for inflation of course. This will ensure that every Gaduri can make ends meet, and ensure food and rent can be paid for without having to struggle. The Right to a Living Wage will be costly, but it should result in a more productive workforce, being paid properly for their labour.

Truly, if the PSSG wasn't social democratic before, then they certainly are now. These efforts will be vital to creating a healthy workforce, and a healthy society in the long term. The Thousand Roses Campaign is looking to create a united, healthy society for all Gaduri, and while opposition exists, it seems the public is behind it as more benefits are given to those who need it. After all, who doesn't love more money in their pocket?

In other news;
Polling shows support for Likatonian culinary rising; Perhaps some of their companies can come to Gaduridos and provide?

Support for Alternative Pan-Seleyanism on the rise; Federalism, Republicanism, and Neutrality to define Alternative Pan-Seleyanism.

Yepes Presidency enjoys solid approval from Gaduri; Opposition remains just as vocal.

RE: Gaduridos - Elena1012 - 03-11-2024

The Right to a Healthy Economy; The Civil Regulation and Competition Administration to be created.

The Right to Freedom from Unfair Competition. One of the many Rights promised by the Yepes Presidency. As is the case in certain countries, we see those at the top benefit the most and clamp down on those below the wealth latter. Monopolies if you will. Snuffing out small businesses and smaller competitors. While monopolies have been cracked down upon for awhile, more can always be done. To that end, the Yepes Presidency has announced the creation of the Regulación Cívica y Administración de Competencia (Civil Regulation and Competition Administration). The RCAC will have the goal of ensuring regulations within the market, and ensure fair competition for all enterprises in Gaduridos. This will be a solid move towards a more healthy economy in the long term, and ensure a competitive thriving market internally for Gaduridos, allowing more wealth to go to every Gaduri instead of a select few.

By clamping down, and fighting any chances for monopolies, a healthy economy can be secured, and with a healthy economy, a thriving economy will be likely. While some may view this as more interference in the free market, the PSSG are Social Democrats after all, this is expected of their policy. Irregardless this will benefit small businesses who no longer need to fear the more bigger successful businesses, and ensure a fair hand for all in the economy.

With most of the Expanded Rights accomplished, save for the Right to Education and Medical Care, the Yepes Presidency has big goals for the nation, and the economy. The creation of an economy for all, instead of just for the few is what seems to be the main focus of this term as only one year remains before elections come about. Irregardless of that, it's too early to say what can happen there, so for now, there can be assurance that the Yepes Presidency has put work into the economy.

RE: Gaduridos - Elena1012 - 03-11-2024

The Right to Medical Care; Healthcare Reforms coming to Gaduridos.

The Right to Medicare has been deemed an essential right by the Yepes Presidency. While Gaduri healthcare has largely been adequate enough to pass, and has been a far cry from what it was in the early 00s, the current situation is that it is in dire need of reform. As such, the Yepes Presidency has begun reforms to healthcare. First and foremost, it will be turned over back into public hands. While prior, it was entirely private, but the state ensured coverage for every citizen, it is clear that the Yepes Presidency won't tolerate this. Gaduri Healthcare will be restored to state control, and be available to every Gaduri, irregardless of wealth.

As such, the goal will be to expand coverage and availability. Making it entirely public solves some of that, but more can always be done. The Yepes Presidency has particularly focused on improving coverage in rural Gaduridos. Upgrade or build new medical centres in rural areas and coverage can be drastically expanded. Upgrading existing medical centres will provide new life (in a literal sense) to rural communities and also be cost effective compared to building new centres. However, it must be recognized that not every community will have medical centres. As such, that is where building new centres comes in. For small rural communities, this will translate to the establishment of new clinics. For more developed urban communities, this can mean new hospitals, care centres for the elderly, etc. Alongside that, there will efforts to improve and modernize practices to create a modern health system. A modern healthcare system is a modern successful nation.

The Right to Medicare will be expensive, and fiscal conservatives and even some liberals will oppose the action, but the Yepes Presidency has reassured that it is vital for the creation of a better Gaduridos. All that remains in the Expanded Rights is the Right to Education. It remains to be seen how exactly these efforts will translate as concerns over the deficit continue to rise, but at the very least, Gaduri will find themselves with better healthcare opportunities and benefits.

RE: Gaduridos - Elena1012 - 04-11-2024

PSSG splits over the PGN Act; The Workers Party is organized.

Another bill has gained significant controversy, both among the public and the PSSG. The Protection of Gaduri Neutrality Act, or the National Service Act. It's reasoned that by offering national service, whether it be civilian or military, Gaduri Neutrality can be preserved and protected. For example, military service can be chosen for a small amount of time to ensure that the FDG does have numbers, and that Gaduridos could have a reasonable way to defend itself should allies fail to arrive. Civilian service on the other hand can see the AOC boosted immensely and ensure that both government projects will have manpower, and every Gaduri can learn vital life skills for future employment. Or they can stay working with the state and have solid job security. The nuclear option to fighting unemployment if you will.

Opponents however have been vocal. Arguing over civil liberties and pacifism, there has been very strong opposition. While the PGN Act will pass, it seems that this has been the final straw for opponents of Yepes in the PSSG. Prominent members of the PSSG, most notably Adán Saavedra have announced that they have fully left the PSSG, citing that the PSSG has failed in its vision. To that end, Saavedra has announced the formation of the Partido de los Trabajadores de Gaduridos (Worker's Party of Gaduridos), being a more explicitly socialist party, advocating for stronger pacifism and democratic socialism. With elections on only 9 months, this isn't likely to be a major blow to the Yepes Presidency, but it may endanger her re-election chances as the Left vote is split.

With the PTG positioning itself against the PSSG, and opposing the PNG, the Right has been consolidating itself and is likely to announce it's bid to challenge the PSSG for presidency come October. As new rivals spring up, the coming months will certainly be interesting for many Gaduri, and especially for how Yepes will fair with stronger opponents.

RE: Gaduridos - Elena1012 - 06-11-2024

Yepes pulls through and prevails in elections; Worker's Party makes some gains.

The recent 5565 elections have concluded with a victory for the PSSG and Yepes. Despite the campaign by the Worker's Party, the PSSG has managed to prevail, and despite Yepes having had some controversy during her tenure, it seems many Gaduri have chosen to give her another chance for the next 4 years. With the Thousand Roses Campaign continuing on, it seems new opportunities will be available. From Womb To Tomb remains the motto, and Yepes has pledged a new focus. While the basic institutions have been established for a welfare state, there is still a lot more work to be done, and it seems the next 4 years will be further establishing the basis for a welfare state and cementing these new institutions.

As for the Worker's Party, it managed to do fairly well for a new party, receiving support from those disillusioned with the PSSG but it ultimately is unable to counter PSSG dominance of the National Congress. With that established, we can expect a stronger focus on class collaboration and strengthening the welfare. With the economy recovering, and the Malaise being challenged, the Yepes Presidency will continue on, with no major expected hiccups. Irregardless, the next 4 months will focus on collaboration, stronger welfare and improving the economy.

As many Gaduri find themselves able to provide for themselves, the push for restoring the Golden Age of Gaduridos is looked at with envy. While Gaduridos may be healing and recovering, it is still far from returning to that Golden Age, but with the Malaise eroding away, perhaps t may be restored. Irregardless, the election of Yepes has shown that despite controversy, many Gaduri are supportive of the PSSG, and of Yepes. Her social state has some way to go, but the basic framework is set up. Whether it be new welfare reforms, improving the economy or creating a more united Gaduridos.

RE: Gaduridos - Elena1012 - 07-11-2024

Domestic steel efforts begin; New jobs to be available.

It would seem the Yepes Presidency has continued efforts to expand and diversify the economy. And especially to put Gaduri resources to usage. And it seems iron will be used. While normally Gaduridos would be an importer of iron due to the lack of coal. However, it seems a deal has been reached with a major coal producer; Luthori. A special deal has been made, where Luthori will provide coal to Gaduridos, which will be used to turn iron into steel, and then allow for Gaduri steel to be imported to Luthori at cheap prices.

As such, this has opened the door to new opportunities and new jobs for many Gaduri. However, Luthori will not be the only nation that receives cheap steel. Kalistan has long been a notable investor in the Gaduri economy. And many have not forgotten this. Despite some initial fears early into this decade, it seems many Gaduri have changed their mind. With that said, Kalistan, should they require Gaduri steel, will be able to receive it cheaply. Irregardless of that, we can expect new jobs for many Gaduri citizens, high paying good quality jobs from the private sector. Alongside that, this will encourage development for states, and increase economic development federally. Not only will this help in raising living standards for many Gaduri, but it will help in diversification of the economy.

As such, these efforts should see economic growth come about, even if minor and contribute to growth across the nation. With these efforts taking place to diversify the economy, and strengthen Gaduri trade, development can increase across the country, and especially where the steel mills are based on. Vintalli finds itself being host to a solid amount of steel mills, and as such can expect to benefit immensely from this.
--------------------------
In other news;
Many Gaduri reconsider support for Kalistan; Perhaps initial fears in 5561 were misplaced?

Slow and steady economic growth; Stability pays off.

Workers Party rises in polls; Could they perhaps secure gains next election?

RE: Gaduridos - Elena1012 - 09-11-2024

A Gaduri Spring; New Parties form to oppose the PSSG and PTG Duopoly in the National Congress.

The formation of the Workers Party to oppose the PSSG set off a ticking time bomb. It would seem that it has finally exploded as various opposition parties have registered with the Electoral Commission, largely on a wide spectrum of ideologies. As such, the next elections are expected to receive a rather colourful National Congress.

As such, let's go over this new explosion of political parties. Starting off with the Partido Reformista de Gaduridos (Reform Party of Gaduridos). Positioning itself in the Centre Right, the PRG has focused on a conservative message, with a major key point being Fiscal Conservatism. The PRG has found itself with relatively strong support due to fiscal concerns that have been raised over the past few years regarding government spending. While the Malaise is arguably gone, concerns about deficit spending are relatively strong.

Onto the next party, the Partido Radical Democrático (Radical Democratic Party), firmly positioning itself as an unofficial successor to the strongly liberal ULG (Liberal Union of Gaduridos). Advocating for economic liberalism, social liberal policies and continuing the traditions of federalism, the PRD is, in all essence, cemented itself as a revival of the ULG. The Radicals have found relatively high popularity amongst those who disagree with the corporatist vision of the Yepes led PSSG, and those who feel the Worker's Party is simply too left.

The next party, is the Partido Nacional de Gaduridos (National Party of Gaduridos). The PNG has found itself being the black sheep of Gaduri politics. Due to being associated with the former National Front, the PNG has come under scrutiny. Irregardless the PNG has focused on soft nationalism, looking to distance itself from the National Front, and has focused on National Conservatism.

Onto a less controversial party, the Partido Demócrata Hosiano (Hosian Democratic Party). Being more on the centre, the PDH has looked to represent, well, Hosians in the nation. The PDH has found itself to be more centrist, looking to put itself directly into the centre, leaving cooperation open to the right and left.

The final party, is the Partido de la Revolución Democrática (Party for the Democratic Revolution). The PRD is a rather confusing party. More often, it is best defined as an idiosyncratic, and general populist position.

With these new parties, the next elections in 5569 will certainly be interesting as millions of Gaduri now have new options. The top parties so far, seem to be, of course the PSSG, the PRD and the PRG. With the PTG and PNG being solid frontrunners whilst the PRD and PDH being sluggish. So, we can most likely expect either a social democratic government, a liberal government or a conservative government in '69.

RE: Gaduridos - Elena1012 - 10-11-2024

Pablo Navarro and the Radicals endorse the idea of the Kalistani Empire; Calls for a public referendum on the matter.

It would seem, that with the formation of a tangible Liberal opposition, Pablo Navarro, de facto head of the PRD has chosen to endorse the idea of joining the Kalistani Empire. This has received immediate public attention as it was only earlier this decade that the chance to join the North Seleyan Confederation was shot down, and many Gaduri have very strong opinions on joining other states. Irregardless, Navarro has advocated for joining the Empire on the basis of economic prosperity, growth, and unity. Arguing that Gaduridos can skyrocket back to the Golden Age, and even go further by being hand in hand with the Empire, Navarro has called for the Yepes Presidency to enact a public referendum on joining the Empire. While Navarro is by no means in government, this does mean that should the Radicals get elected in the next elections, they may have an ambitious agenda to pursue.

Irregardless, this has seen vocal opposition from the National Party, the Workers Party, and the PDH. Arguing for sovereignty, independence and strict neutrality, they have opposed what Navarro has endorsed, whilst the Reform Party and the PSSG have not taken a position on it officially. But the Radicals have largely stood by their decision, with some even speculating that it may even become a campaign promise once elections come closer. As such, should they win elections, it will certainly be interesting to see how they attempt to pursue this avenue. While the government has largely ignored his calls for a referendum, the public has been put in discussion about it now in a genuine way, and it could potentially become a public issue worth handling during elections.

With Navarro calling for closer ties to Kalistan, the Radicals are stepping up their game and may have a genuine shot to win Los Altos and the National Congress. However, it is worth noting that the PSSG is still a major bloc, and has positioned itself towards maintaining the status quo. Reform on the other hand, has been rising steadily and is expected to be the rights Magnum Opus. Where they play into this is yet to be seen, but what's sure is that the Radicals may need to negotiate with the PSSG or Reform to see their vision through.
