RE: Deltaria - Rogue - 23-03-2025 ![]() LAKE MAJATRA - After being granted permission by the Emperor himself, Deltarian Energy has commenced renewed drilling operations in Lake Majatra. Despite some limited backlash from neighbouring countries over the years, Deltarian Energy continued to survey the lake in search of new wells for both oil and gas extraction. After nearly two years of continued surveying, it has marked three areas of potentially large oil fields in the lake, requesting the Emperor in a direct petitition if constructing drilling platforms would be allowed.
After a week, the emperor signed the decree allowing Deltarian Energy its drilling operations. With support from the Imperial and Crownland police the company has now started construction on three drilling platforms which seek to pump new oil out of the lake, further fueling Deltarian industry. While a steady supply of oil and gas is coming from partners like Kafuristan, the imperial government seeks to have at least some production capacity on its own to further strengthen Deltaria's strategic energy reserves, which have been dwindling in the last few years due to increased energy demands. With the oil in the lake, the imperial government will fill up the reserve while using imported fossil fuels to satisfy daily energy needs. If energy supply falls short for whatever reason, Deltaria can at least use its to be filled reserves to weather a small storm while looking for solutions. The Imperial and Crownland police are providing security for workers constructing the platforms, while the Imperial Guard has increased its monitoring efforts on the Jelbe border, fearing a potential response by the communist authorities there. It is expected that without major hickups the platforms should be operational within a year, granting Deltarian Energy its first production capacity in decades. ![]() RE: Deltaria - Rogue - 23-03-2025 ![]() BRANOVICE - In at least three of the four provinces protests have rocked the streets of major cities following the death of a 15 year old earlier this week in Branovice. The death of the child came about after he was arrested by Branovice Police for hanging socialist pamphlets throughout the city, which also included several anti-imperial and anti-religious pamphlets. Police arrested the child with violence, according to bystanders, and he was put in a van and driven to the nearby police station. He was kept there for days. Authorities would later confirm that he had died, sparking massive outrage amongst the local population.
When news spread across the country, protests errupted in more cities and the anti-imperial and religious message was only echoed. So far, Imperial and local police have not acted upon the unrest, only issuing a statement calling the death "a unfortunate event" but reiterating that no form of anti-monarchist "propaganda" will be tolerated. Additionally, Deltaria's religious community has been using the event to point out their struggle for legitimacy, seeing the anti-religious element in the protests as a wider problem that needs to be adressed. It is estimated that around 200.000 Deltarians are currently participating in the protests, marking the largest protests since the consolidation of power by the monarch. RE: Deltaria - Rogue - 26-03-2025 ![]() TSARGRAD - In a televized speech at Tsargrad's Imperial Square our beloved Emperor made a grand announcement in front of a estimated 400.000 supporters. In what has been deemed the most dramatic and consequential announcement in centuries, bringing Deltaria closer to its faith. The Emperor, accompanied by the Exarch of Deltaria, announced the renaming of our glorious nation into the "Augustan Empire of Deltaria", a reference to the Augustan church which a majority of Deltarians follow. Additionally, religion will play a integral role in the governance of the nation specifically through the Emperor and his decrees.
A new "religious flag" has been simultaniously introduced, which will wave alongside the state flag at official state ceremonies. Following his speech, the Emperor signed a decree which changes the state religion to that of the Augustan Church, as well as introducing new laws that cement religion its role in society. The Holy Lands, formally abolished centuries ago, will see a return and gain legal status, with the Augustan Church to be allowed full jurisdiction over the city of Dolinka and its surroundings. Additionally the Emperor will be assigned a permanent religious advisor and the new "Council of Theology" will be a government advisory body that will give their thoughts on any new decree being proposed by the Emperor. The Emperor is not obligated to listen to said advice, but the new council is already being seen as a important advisory body to the state. The move towards religion did not come out of nowhere. Till last month, protests rocked our nation and calls for democracy and moderation became louder by the day. In a attempt to gain support from the church and its followers, the Emperor promised increased religious rights and increased influence for the church in policy making. In return, the church pledged its unwavering committment to the monarchy. So called "Augustan Brothers" went out into the streets, actively harassing and attacking pro-democracy protestors. In one instance, at least 2000 protestors faced up against 500 Augustan Brothers armed with bats and other melee weapons. 237 people were hospitalized and the protests quickyl died down out of fear for more violence. Such instances occured across the country, allowing authorities to break up the remaining protests last month, with protestors exhausted after months of continious clashes. This new "alliance" between church and state is seen as a way for the Emperor to preserve his power, at the expense of less authority on religious matters. Moderates within the imperial government have felt uneasy about the alliance, fearing that the church might overplay its hand and directly challenge the Emperor for authority. ![]() The new religious flag, to be used together with the state flag during government ceremonies and gatherings RE: Deltaria - Rogue - 26-03-2025 ![]() BALGRAD - After nearly 1.5 years of delays and going 200 million over budget, the project for the return of a Deltarian aircraft carrier has finally been completed with the DNS Norbert entering service. The new ship, the largest carrier ever build by Deltaria itself, will be the flagship of the Northern Fleet, used as the primary ship for Deltarian power projection. During the project several technical issues delayed it, with subcontractors unable to effectively solve them. In the late stages the state owned "Imperial Coastal Shipbuilding Corporation" or ICSC jumped on board the project, using its expertise in procuring Deltarian destroyers effectively in the Norbert project.
The carrier is nuclear powered, only being limited by the military its logistical capabilities. It has a crew of nearly 4000 sailors, making it a small town in the ocean. It will be protected by a task force consisting of four destroyers, two cruisers and two nuclear powered attack submarines, creating one of the strongest naval formations of the navy. With the addition of the DNS Norbert our Military celebrates one of its greatest achievements in the rearmament program. Deltaria now boasts a navy of nearly 500 ships, largely consisting of a combination of corvettes, frigates, destroyers, cruisers and countless of logistical and litoral defense ships which make up the bulk of naval strength. The DNS Norbert is amongst one of three "major naval assets" as classified by the Ministry of War. This also includes the project to revive the DNS Ludmik, Deltaria's battlecruiser, which will be serving as the flagship of the home fleet as well as the new Borell-class nuclear attack submarines, of which the Deltarian navy now has four. Within the 8 years of the naval program the Deltarian navy has risen to become the pre-eminent naval power in Majatra, becoming one of the larger naval powers on the globe. But the focus on its naval expansion has cost its ambitions in other fields. The Grand Imperial Army issued a imperial report to the Ministry of War last year indicating that the army is not getting the necessary investments it needs to continue rearmament. Important companies within the military-industrial complex of Deltaria have been hesitant to invest, as earlier ambitions within the Deltarian government have not been realized. The Air Force has received no significant attention whatsoever, despite promises of a renewed multirole fighter program, which has since been cancelled according to reports. While the navy has thus made significant strides, the Imperial government is facing a important decision in the coming months. Will they abandon rearmament and reasses their ambitions for the army and air force? Or will they continue the costly program in the hope that it might lead to better results? ![]() RE: Deltaria - Rogue - 30-03-2025 ![]() TSARGRAD - Chaos reigns supreme in the capital after units of the 4th reserve brigade have failed in what seems to be a coup attempt. The brigade, largely consisting of Usmarea natives, used a training exercise near the capital as a excuse to move towards the Imperial Palace. There, they tried to enter the premises but were stopped by units of the Imperial Guard. On the other side of the city, two explosions rocked the eastern district police station after a armoured vehicle from the 8th Eagle Platoon fired two shots at it. This platoon had ordered police forces to surrender their weapons, seeking to use the police station as a base of operations.
After a standoff that lasted two hours, shots were fired near the palace and a gunfight ensued killing at least 4 soldiers and 2 Imperial Guardsmen. Fearing more resistance the 4th reserve brigade withdrew from the palace and hastily tried to leave the city. At this point other army units loyal to the Imperial regime had surrounded the city and, seeking to prevent another gunfight, the commander of the 4th reserve surrendered his men to the Imperial forces. While much still remains unclear, reports are coming from Usmarea and Vadissza of other army mutinies as well as militia's forming. Two army helicopters have also left Tsargrad airbase to land in Balgrad, joining a new "Usmarea National Guard". Emperor Slavko has yet to be seen or heard in public but imperial authorities have assured our paper that all is under control. What sparked the failed coup remains vague, but discontent over religious power and a lack of representation for the provinces had been rampant in the leadup to this catastrophic event. That is what is clear after yet another week of carnage in our country. Despite our beloved Emperor and his benevelont rule, power hungry and self serving aristocommies have risen up and formed so called "People's Defense Militia's" with a clear goal in mind: Communist rule in Deltaria. But we are not easily fooled as our brave imperial warriors fight on for Emperor and country.
Last night the city of Hradnice has fallen to the usurpers as our forces strategically retreated from the city to gain a better position for the inevitable counterattack. We have heard reports of dozens of rebels falling to the might bullits of our Imperial Armed Forces, who strike them down with ease. Despite the loss of several cities and towns, we are in a good position to defend our beloved homeland, making sure that Istalian agents are not able to fullfill their plan for domination over Deltaria. As our forces prepare for a grand assault, we will keep you up to date and make sure that we report on the victories to come. RE: Deltaria - Rogue - 31-03-2025 ![]() HRADNICE - Deltaria's third largest city, Hradnice, was captured last night by advancing rebel forces calling themselves the "Free People's Army". Consisting of both deserted army units and self formed royal militia's, the FPA has been rapidly advancing following the disintigration of a large part of the Imperial Armed Forces. Once the uprising began, it became clear that a majority of those in the military were not keen to die for "their" emperor.
Despite the dessertions, a strong contingent of the army is still fighting tenactiously in defense of the imperial system and the Thaller family. The imperial force is estimated to number 100.000, largely from military units stationed in the Crownlands. The Duchy of Daraki also supports the Imperial government with a contingent of at least 20.000 Daraki troops, fighting on behalf of their Duke, crown advisor to Emperor Slavko. With their advance, rebel forces now control large swathes of the country. But for all their strengths, the rebels seem to be bitterly divided. New rebel groups are popping up throughout the country, with the most recent addition sparking fears of a wider civil war. The "Republican Front", consisting of disgruntled liberals, conservatives, socialists and progressives, took over effective control over the coastal "gem" of Branovice, declaring the "Branovician Republic" and setting up formal government structures in what is now being dubbed the "city state." This combined with the recent declaration of the Augustan State of Dolinka in the south has sparked debate on whether the rebellion can keep its organization and momentum going. Imperial forces are erecting elaborate defenses around Tsargrad, as well as reportedly preparing a counter offensive to the north. If rebel organization shatters, it is unclear if their goal of taking Tsargrad by the end of june will remain plausible or become a fantasy. Emperor Slavko has meanwhile called on all "patriots and Deltarian friends" to rise up against the rebellion, calling it a "foreign ploy to weaken our country." Slavko is already hinting at possible foreign intervention, hoping to use a patriotic message to get more Deltarians on his side. ![]() FRONTLINE - News has reached several news outlets of rebel prisoners being executed by Imperial forces upon capture. As fighting stagnates on the front line and static warfare seems to become the norm, the Imperial government has reportedly handed out orders that directly violate international law. The static warfare, according to accounts from the frontline, is brutal and both sides are starting to use improvised tactics in order to gain the upper hand. Rebels for example have been using small commercial drones strapped with hand grenades, allowing them to hit Imperial positions for much cheaper then using conventional means. But the Imperials are resorting to inhumane tactics. Both eyewitness reports and a leaked document from the Imperial General Staff seems to indicate that Imperial Forces are to "execute prisoners upon capture" not just to save "food and resources" but also to "instill fear into the rebel forces."
This tactic directly contradicts international law, which perscribes that prisoners of war are to be treated well. When Hradnice was taken several months ago, a variety of "execution sites" were discovered by FPA forces, which they documented in a series of photo's for evidence. Now, at the frontline, reports come in of sites filled with fallen rebel men, all laying in rows in some instances, hands tied behind their backs. Duke Valentin of Usmarea, the face and spokesperson for FPA forces, has called on the international community to step in "before it is to late and this regime is allowed to continue its brutal acts against the Deltarian people." As the front stagnates, Imperial forces are gaining a upper hand. The majority of military equipment and supplies were retained by the Imperial government, with remaining Thaller forces much better equipped and supplied then their FPA counterparts. Furthermore, the production facilities in Daraki continue to fuel its growing arsenal, with artillery and drone strikes having largely incapacitated the FPA its ability to produce its own equipment. While both sides are digging in, it seems that without international support FPA forces are entering a critical phase in their effort to topple the Thaller monarchy. ![]() |
