Commonwealth & Ananto Empire reach compromise
Lodamun naval bases remain, with some concessies

With the Lodamese nation joining the Ananto Empire the Commonwealth of Nations’s reaction was neutral, until the Commonwealth of Mordusia sounded the alarm that this North-Seleyan Empire would gain major bases in Mordusia, a firm ally of Luthori and proud member of the Commonwealth. With this the Governor-General alongside the government decided to invite the representatives of Lodamun and the Ananto Empire for discussions on the future of the military bases with the Commonwealth Government of Mordusia and representatives of its big brother and ally the Holy Luthori Empire. Over a few days these talks resulted in a good deal with concessions made on both sides, ending with a sense of renewed relations in the spirit of cooperation.
The success in the negotiations was in great part to the gracious manner the Ananto Empress conducted herself, even her appearance and joining the conversation was greatly admired by the attending diplomats and government officials. Governor-General Prince Louis said that it was ‘’a great honour to have a foreign Empress grace us with her visit, a clear sign of the importance of this meeting to both sides, I thanked her afterwards in name of Her Imperial & Royal Majesty, Empress & Queen’’ (red. Empress-Queen Audrey, Empress of Luthori & Queen of Mordusia).
The negotiations were held about the extensive expansion of the naval and airforce bases of Lodamun, who as of joining with Ananto would give major military assets to an Empire previously hostile to the Commonwealth. In the minds of the government, backed by Luthori, this was unacceptable. The goal of Prime-Minister Sir Alfred Hawk was clear: remove the bases. However after careful negotiations the Ananto states seemed pragmatic, optimistic and sharing a same love for the continent and the safety of the eastern side of the Seleyan continent, especially in a world where Lourenne is more focused on itself and pacifism. A relief for Mordusia. The Foreign Minister said that it was ‘’a renewal of cooperation, moving towards new fresh and friendly relations and an outlook to mutual respect and pan-Seleyan thought, we applaud that and can only hope that our relations will move forward in this manner from now on, we have to do our part too’’.
A difficult situation, that is what the situation between the Ananto Empire and the Commonwealth can be described as. As per the negotiations between Luthori and Kalistan a few years back to respect each others boundries and the friends and nations within their orbit, said agreement would have been broken would the treaty between Mordusia and Lodamun remain standing in the new situation where Lodamun became a part of the Ananto Empire. However with the new agreement the situation has been resolved in such a way that cooperation between the involved parties have been reached in a satisfactional way for all parties involved according to the ministery of Foreign Affairs.
The following provisions make up the published agreement between the involved parties:
- Mordusia will allow the Lodamese naval bases to expand to half the size of their expansion plans.
- Anantonese fleets may refuel and repair there, regardless if they are Lodamese ships or not.
- Lodamun and Mordusia will remain working together on security of South Seleya.
- All military activity in Mordusia by Ananto forces will be shared by Mordusia with Luthori.
- Anantonese flags may be flown above Lodamese flags, but if Mordusian flags are flown next to them they must be respresented as equal flying flags representing two seperate and sovereign entities.
- Lodamese Airbases will be closed and the Lodamese airforce must depart Mordusia.
- The Naval Bases will be leased to Lodamun for the duration fo 10 years after which they must be renegociated.

Rechtenberg - From the Royal Capital of Rechtenberg, the Governor-General, His Royal & Imperial Highness Prince Louis of Orange-Villayn-Armstead, Prince of Luthori, Mordusia, Rutania & the Yeudi Homeland, etc., etc., etc., announced the first Mordusia Day. A day to commemorate the history, culture, and unity of our great Commonwealth on our beautiful Southern Seleyan continent. During this day, all of Mordusia will have a day off to celebrate and enjoy a wondrous occasion. Throughout the land, numerous activities have been planned, such as special markets where children can sell their toys, cultural outings, sporting games, and festivals.
Long has it been the greatest wish of Mordusian patriots and of the Prince himself to establish a national day that celebrates the unique identity of the Commonwealth. For decades, national identity had been intertwined with its colonial past under the Holy Luthorian Empire. However, as Mordusia has grown into a thriving and diverse nation, calls for a day that celebrates its own heritage and accomplishments have grown louder. In a stirring speech delivered from the steps of the Royal Palace, Prince Louis declared: “Mordusia Day is a testament to our journey as a nation, from our colonial roots to our proud standing today as a Commonwealth that embodies unity, diversity, and progress. It is a day to honor our traditions while looking forward to the bright future we are building together.”
Celebrations began early in the morning, with a grand parade through the streets of Rechtenberg featuring floats depicting scenes from Mordusia’s history and its vibrant cultural tapestry. Traditional dances, music performances, and reenactments drew thousands of spectators, many waving the national flag.
Across the nation, communities came together to participate in events unique to their regions. In the highlands, villagers celebrated with traditional Mordusian sports, while coastal towns hosted regattas and seafood festivals. In Randworth a great festival was held where various musicians performed various songs including the anthem ‘’Red Rose of Morduisa’’, ‘’Advance Mordusia Fair’’ and of course we cant forget that the most popular song of them all ‘’Walzing Mathilda’’. We were treated by a song of the Queen of Disco herself, Ann Jones.

In various cities across the Commonwealth fireworks were lighting up the sky as the day came to a spectacular close, symbolising the patriotic feelings the people have for the nation but also its unique culture, based and rooted in the traditions of Luthori and having grown on Seleyan soil. The spectacular fireworks shows were seen in every major city throughout the Commonwealth. On television they where shown, with also being shown that the Governor-General, the prime-minister and the leader of every political party in the Federal Parliament present watching them from Rechtenberg.
Her Imperial & Royal Majesty, Audrey, of the House of Orange-Villayn-Armstead, Empress of Luthori & Queen of Mordusia herself sent a message from the Luthorian capital, Fort William, expressing her pride and affection for Mordusia. “Although I am across the seas, my heart is with the Commonwealth on this historic day. Mordusia’s spirit of resilience, creativity, and kindness is an inspiration to all,” the Queen said in a broadcast aired on national television.
The creation of Mordusia Day is widely seen as a milestone in the Commonwealth’s history. Many hope it will serve as an annual reminder of the unity and strength of the nation, fostering a deeper connection among its people and their shared aspirations. With its inaugural celebration, Mordusia has taken another step toward defining its own path in the world, while honoring its past and embracing its future.

Randworth - As the Empress in her decree stated, the Imperial Prince living in the Commonwealth was never to remain Governor-General for a long time, today the year of his term ended and His Imperial Highness resigned the post and inaugurated in name of Her Royal & Imperial Majesty the Queen-Empress the new Governor-General, Sir George Parker of the National Party. With this the mission of the Prince was over and he returns to heading the Orange-Villayn Foundation with his wife Princess Lucile.
The Prince & Count of Rechtenberg has been Governor-General of the Commonwealth for a year, in that year he spend much efforts to visit as many places as he could in the Commonwealth, giving attention specifically towards the various cultures represented in Mordusia. The Prince stated that it was the honour of his life to be able to represent the Queen of Mordusia (the Empress of Luthori) in his new home country. During his tenure he also promoted cultural activities, buidling of national statues of hero's of Mordusia and important men and women in Mordusian history. Highlighted the Mordusian culture and organised the very first Mordusia Day. A celebration to honour Mordusia.
As the Prince left office, he was seen smiling as he met his successor, glad to leave the arena of politics and moving back to his important duties in his own foundation. We hope we can see more of His Imperial Highness very soon. What is sure is that his tenure as Governor-General was short but will never be forgotten.

Port Alexander - As previously announced the Federal Government has been wanting to rearm the military, the Ministry of Defense had ordered the Armed Forces to replace their standard issue wit the MP-01 pistol and the MAR-01 assault rifle. Now with a few years on the whole of the armed forces has been equiped with the new arms the Royal Armed Forces feel it is time, backed by the Ministry of Defense that the next stage of upgrading and expanding the miltiary needs to occur. This will also be done in several phases.
The military cooperation between the Holy Luthorian Empire and our Commonwealth is clearly paying off as the Armed Forces were able to make a lucrative deal with the Imperial Government and their defense contractors to purchase 30 Challenger 3 tanks to replace the outdated tank arsenal the Army has on hand at the moment. With it the Royal Army has asked the Imperial Army to send over instructors to drill Mordusian tank divsions in the usage of the new material. However the purchase doesnt end there, the Royal Airfoce has announced that they too will place an order with Luthori for 20 of their standard fighterjets to replace the near non-existant airforce, hoping to finally get enough planes to defend the airspace of the Commonwealth themselves.
The build up of the airforces is according to the Defense ministry highly needed, especially since the deal with Lodamun was altered. With them no long having airbases in the Commonwealth the Federal Government has felt the pressure to fill the gab themselves, however this proved to be far more difficult that originally thought as the Air Force has been operating with only a few workable planes who are very much outdated for modern combat usage. Next to the purchase of the Luthorian fighterjets the Federal Government decided to order about 5 new patrol planes and 2 cargoplanes from Hexlon Aviation. It is expected that over the coming years these new material will come into service.
Not only the Royal Airforce is finally purchasing something made in our own country, they are also joined by the Royal Army who next to purchasing the tanks from the Empire will purchase 5 Mordusian Light Armoured Vehicles (MLAV) these vehicles will service as back up for the infantry as well as transporting troops to specific locations in accordance with the newly developing armoured strategy of the Mordusian Royal Army. This will mark the first step to domestically producing military equipment to lessen the reliance on various other powers.

Rechtenberg - In a shocking event in the Imperial & Royal Family, Her Imperial & Royal Majesty the Empress-Queen Audrey (here after refered to as 'the Queen') has announced on national television during her traditional Hallowtide address to the Luthorian and Mordusian nations that she will abdicate the throne in the new year on January 26th, 5592. Exactly 42 years after she ascended the throne herself on the death of her father, Emperor-King Charles VII (Emperor of Luthori and King of Mordusia). So ends the reign of Her Majesty and begins that of her daughter, the Princess of Orange, Crown Princess Katherine, who herself is 58 years old.
Her Imperial & Royal Highness, Princess Katherine shall ascend to the throne immidiatly after her mother abdicates as in accordance with ancient tradition, House Laws and the Imperial & Royal Succession Acts of both realms. Her Highness shall assume the title of Empress of Luthori in Luthori and Queen of Mordusia in Mordusia. Her Majesty the Queen has stated in her address that her abdication of the throne was due to ''medical concerns'' about her health and the fact that, soon after 42 years on the Throne, she was ''running out of energy to diligently lead the Realms'' and that she thought that ''a younger and sharper head of state was what the Realms needed at that moment''.
The Queen will forever be remembered as a loving woman who cared greatly for Mordusia and visited her as often as she could and send relatives in her stead if she was hindered to do so. She instigated with her family renewed investments and attetion to the unique Mordusian culture, its rich history from its origins from Luthori to its own uniqueness in the modern era. Her guiding and stable hand shall be missed as her most capable daughter and heir wil now take over and shape her reign in her own image and with the guidance and wisdom of her mother by her side.
God save the Queen!

As it falls right in the summer holidays it can only be decribed as the best time of the year to go to beach, relax with family and friends dressed in Hallowtide sunbathing clothes at the beach or fire up a BBQ. Millions of Mordusians today celebrate the special story of the birth of the birth of the Spirit of God coming down in flesh, others celebrate the special day of Saint Quinn who brings gifts to children all around the world, often called Father Hallowtide.

Rechtenberg - As announced by the Queen during her Hallowtide address she abdicated today infavour of her daughter, Princess Katherine, now Empress Katherine, Queen of Mordusia & Empress of Luthori. In honour of her abdication and her long service to the realm, the Holy Luthorian Empire recognised the abdicated Empress as Empress-Emerita, an unusual title but a fitting one for a person who was sovereign over two nations for 42 years of her life and stepped down infavour of stable governance.
Though in Mordusia the former Queen will not hold the title of Queen-emerita she shall be addressed by her Luthorian title and style: ''Her Imperial Majesty, Audrey, the Empress-Emerita, Princess of Mordusia'' as befits a person who served her nations both equally and well. Directly after the abdication of her Imperial & Royal Mother, Her Imperial & Royal Majesty Empress Katherine I, took over directly and without interuption as the new Queen of Mordusia.
In accordance with the tradition, the Commonwealth of Mordusia shall join in the festivities of the Coronation of the Monarch, where Her Imperial & Royal Majesty shall officially be coronated as Empress of Luthori and Queen of Mordusia. The coronation is planned to happen in Luthori on the 2nd of September 5592.

Randworth - The Federal Government was notified by the Lodamese Navy that the Lodamese will not renew the naval basing rights in Mordusia as per the agreement made. This will cause the Lodamese military presence in and around Mordusia to end. Minister of Defence Jeffrey Heart stated in his press release that ‘’the Commonwealth thanks Lodamun for their aid, service and security’’ but that ‘’its time our Commonwealth stood on its own legs’’. He continued to state that the ‘’relationship between Lodamun and Mordusia remain, for we are partners and friends, if they ever need us or our ports they only have to call, Mordusia will kindly return the favour with what we got’’.
It is undeniable that the relationship between Lodamun and our nation has been less strong as it used to be. Tensions rose when the Lodamese decided, as is their sovereign right to do so, to join the Anatonese. Its no secret that the leading force behind the Anatonese, the Kalistani government are everything but friends of the nations belonging to the Commonwealth of Nations. They proved this in years past by putting unprovoked sanctions of Luthori, Mordusia and Likatonia and then by not recognising the independence of the members of the Commonwealth. In the minds of our Federal Government this could potentially put Mordusia and the Commonwealth of Nations at risk, as such the Federal Government notified the Lodamese and Anatonese governments of their reluctance to allow the increase in military bases of the Anatonese within the Commonwealth of Mordusia.
This sparked an incident that saw the Kalistani Empress visit Mordusia with various diplomats. The elegance, diplomacy and pleasant behaviour of the Anatonese was without a doubt appreciated and deeply respected by the Commonwealth, in such a degree that Mordusia allowed a reduced naval presence of Lodamun to remain with a lease of 10 years that had to be renewed after that period, which the Lodamese have respectfully declared on not willing to do. Now its clear that this all was not the outcome the Lodamese and the Kalistani’s had hoped for but they managed to impress the Federal Government and sparked a hope of improving relations.
The withdrawal by Lodamun was a bit of a shock, but not one that the armed forces were quite unhappy about. Chief of the Navy, Vice Admiral Gerald Heathrow, has long asked the government for more funds for the navy. Currently near all naval assets are located at the Schismatic Sea, the place where the Commonwealth has the most sea borders and with the Empire guarding the coast of the Sea of Lost Souls. Operating only with 2 frigates and 4 patrol boats and a few harbour boats the navy is in serious disrepair. From its own green-water navy status its now barely a minor navy. In response the Federal Government announced that it will increase its fleet in steps and step up its own naval construction. Beginning with ordering new offshore patrol vessels and 2 extra frigates, a destroyer and a submarine a long with various support ships for logistics, landing and refuelling. Though the objective is coastal protection and green-water protection.

Randworth - At the withdrawal of the Lodamese navy the Chief of the Navy announced together with the Minister of Defence that the Commonwealth of Mordusia must stand on its own two feet and cannot rely too much on others and cannot ask its ‘parent’ and current closest partners and ally Luthori to aid in all matters of defence. As such the Federal Government will increase the navy significantly in the next few years so that it can perform the necessary defence operations in the Schismatic Sea and the Mordusian coasts in that sea.
In a detailed report the government stated that it has a few core objectives the navy must be able to perform, the Chief of the Navy, Vice Admiral Gerald Heathrow said that the navy must be a crucial part of the defence strategy of the Commonwealth again and that the increased strength of the armed forces and the airforces cannot carry the defence out alone, even with their new material. In the report the core objectives, which the Vice Admiral underlined in his statement are:
1.[font=Times New Roman] [/font]Maritime security
2.[font=Times New Roman] [/font]Coastal defence
3.[font=Times New Roman] [/font]Disaster relief
4.[font=Times New Roman] [/font]Force projection
With only a few frigates and a couple of patrol vessels the Royal Mordusian Navy cannot hope to perform these tasks independently without another power assisting them. As such the Federal Government will work towards an ideal composition, which should be ready within 10 years. If earlier is possible they will do so, however it is likely this target will only be met in 10 years. The government will invest first in 6 patrol vessels to safe guard the EEZ and aid in anti-piracy activities and search and rescue missions. These will be ordered alongside 12 Fast Attack Craft for coastal defense and quick response interception. These ships are meant to replace the current patrol ships the navy has. Afterwards the Royal Mordusian Navy will focus on procuring 4 multi-role corvettes for anti-submarine warfare and surface combat. This will be followed by 2 light frigates for regional presence and escort missions for merchant ships.
After these ships are procured the Royal Navy will move on to procuring 3 submarines from Luthori, these submarines will according to the Navy be vital for reconnaissance and further anti-submarine warfare. The Royal Navy stated that during the purchase of these ships the navy will also procure 2 logistics support ships for replenishment and refueling and 1 Landing Ship-Tank. These ships will not await a specific order but will be procured at the same time the corvettes, submarines and frigates are being procured so that they may go into service along side them. Discussions with the Royal Mordusian Airforce on the combined purchase of new helicopters and aircraft for both branches of the military are underway as well.
The Federal Government awarded the contracts for the domestic production of the naval assets for as far as they can be locally manufactured to Westmooring Naval Technologies. What cannot be constructed in time or at all by them will be procured by other partners such as Luthori, Hutori, Lourenne and Lodamun. Other willing partners are being sought out as well. To help to keep up with the development of technology the Federal Government is thinking of joining the Equifund.
The upgrade of the navy is widely applauded by the entire political scene, though the opposition and various experts have stated the government could have done so sooner. That Lodamun would leave is not new and that Mordusia is so easily willing to lean on others has been a major source of criticism of the opposition, who state the burden of Mordusian defence must primarly fall to their own military, not outside powers or put all the burden on friendly nations such as Lodamun or Luthori. In defence of its policies the Minister of Defence Jeffrey Heart stated the Mordusian economy and treasury could not bear the expense to upgrade all levels of the military at once and that the primary focus had been domestic defence through the army and the airforce, which have since been upgraded and will keep upgrading.
