Kaliburg, Kalistan - As Hutorians prepare for a tense federal election campaign, Her Majesty, Queen Arianna will be spending the Writ period not in the capital but abroad. Newport Castle confirmed this morning that Her Majesty has departed Bekenial, several hours after Prime Minister LeClerc dissolved the government for an extended personal visit to Kalistan, marking her first official international travel since ascending the throne six years ago.

Lord David, related to Empress Mary I of Kalistan, has been romantically linked to Queen Arianna privately for a couple of years, but many outside of the Palace were surprised when the engagement was announced shortly before Christmas. Her Majesty and Lord David, have reportedly been seeing each other since the Queen's visit to Kalistan during the 5658 election, with Lord David having visited Hutori on multiple occasions, himself a professional golfer. It's been notable that Queen Arianna has made multiple trips to Kalistan over the past year. While many expected this to simply be an evolution of the relationship between Queen Arianna and Her Imperial Majesty, Empress Mary I, palace insiders are confirming this also a chance for the Queen and new Duke of Newport to see each other.
Despite being a royal wedding, and the first of a reigning Hutorian monarch in generations, there were a surprisingly few international heads of state that visited. The only truly notable attendees were Her Imperial Majesty, Empress Mary I and her family, and Grand Prince Tomasso of Istalia, along with an entourage from the Istalian government. Queen Arianna used the ceremony as well to release a new round of National Honours, awarding the House of Ananto, the Grand Duchy of the Isle of Sutton, marking the second time in Hutorian history that a foreign head of state has been awarded a position within Hutori that has constitutional power; the Grand Duke or Grand Duchess of the Isle of Sutton, is the Viceroy of the Province, serving as the Royal representative, a sign of increased trust in the House of Ananto. This new honor went hand in hand with their already given titles of Dukes of Icehaven.
