While facing dificulties in its first years, the ASM has developed into a vital mission for the security of the new Republic. Not only is the ASM proving vital in enhancing the security and defense capabilities of New Verham, it is also resulting in the creation of a entire new industry. One prime example of these developments is the newly revealed TKM-AV six-wheel armoured fighting vehicle, developed by the New Verhamese ÜBKB (Native Defense Group) and a variety of Egelian defense companies. The vehicle, mainly to be used in the newly created armoured cavalry brigades of the NVRA, has been in development since the start of the ASM some four years ago. Development was delayed in its first months, before taking off following significant investments from the ASM and seperately from the Egelian government. 

The TKM-AV fits within the profile of the NVRA, which is being modelled as a capable, quick to deploy and mobile force. Currently, three TKM-AV's have been procured, with a additional 37 ordered in order to equip an entire brigade. Some other projects, mainly attempts at developing air-defense systems, have proven a failure as scheduled development stalls and several projects have already been cancelled. But even these failures have shown their merits, as the private Bambai Khamgaalalt Korporatsi (BKK) has used its experiences in their failed projects to help with the procurement of other weapons for the NVRA, with the company gaining expertise over time. ASM participatory nations have also specifically invested in the development of domestic production facilities, with at least 12 production facilities constructed in the last year focussed on a range of defense products, from infantry rifles to artillery. 

While the New Verham Defense Force still relies on primarily purchased Trigunian (Nadiyan) and old Nsanian equipment to equip their forces, the experiences and heavy investments into a domestic defense industry are proving their worth. The latest project, nicknamed "Project Dovanian Skies", is a prime example of a defense initiative that would likely not have been possible without the investment and time given to the sector. The project, a joint venture with Bianjie, sees the two countries work together in a consortium to develop a joint multirole fighter aircraft, set to replace the Trigunian aircraft currently in service. The consortium consists of 17 defense companies, from electronics to full on aerospace design, working together to create the aircraft. While in its early stages, the project is being funded by both the ASM and seperately by the New Verham and Bianjian government's. If succesfull, it would be the biggest accomplishment of the ASM and mark the entry of a new, highly capable aircraft completely made by Dovanians. 

Newly appointed Minister of Defense Jali Bukha praised the efforts of all involved in the transformation of the NVDF into a "modern and capable force." His ministry issued a memorandum last week, announcing that it will prioritize projects and procurement activities that "push forward the military industrial sector and drive innovation", hinting at ending the purchase of old equipment in order to focus all resources on domestic production and design.

Altaai - In a landmark moment for New Verham’s post‑war economic renewal, the Altaai Commercial Port was officially inaugurated today in Altaai, marking the culmination of years of planning, investment, and international cooperation. The opening ceremony, attended by President Anarba, Prime Minister Dinget Buyantu, senior members of the newly sworn‑in government, and trade delegations from across the region, celebrated what officials are calling a transformative infrastructure milestone for the nation’s economy. 

Ersen - The DMZ had been a relatively calm strip of land for the last two years as both NVDF and GRCD forces simply manned their posts, maintained their defensive structures and left eachother alone. But while combat was rare, the NVDF was continiously developing its capabilities thanks to the ASM and additional investments by the Khasar and Anarba governments. Meanwhile in the GRCD the small population living under its control continued to struggle. Limited international recognition saw the government struggling to trade, with the Ostland border nearly completely sealed. The little goods that did come into the territory were prioritized for its weakened military formations, trying desperately to maintain combat readiness. Discontent from the population was put down by force, with GRCD police watching every step of the territory its citizens. 

But early this morning, the event some had waited for since the end of the civil war commenced. A coordinated volley of air and artillery strikes hit defensive positions of the GRCD near the DMZ, with explosions heard as far as the breakaway states capital of Ersen. What followed was silence, before several waves of low flying Mi-17 armed transport helicopters flew over the DMZ and into GRCD territory. At the same time several super-tucano ground attack aircraft pounded the little air defenses present near the border, with journalists close to the DMZ capturing the moments of the explosions. 

What followed was several hours of chaos, as commanders on the ground refused to comment on the events and sporadic fighting could be heard near the DMZ. Only late in the afternoon did the Ministry of Defense issue a statement, announcing the start of a "coordinated offensive" to "retake our rightfull territory". The statement described the assault, largely initiated by the new 2nd and 5th Air Assault brigades. These brigades used the Mi-17 helicopters "to take forward positions" on GRCD territory, while forces on the ground in the form of the 1st "Khasarian" Armoured Cavalry Brigade took the GRCD side of the DMZ and dissolved the formal status of the zone. According to President Anarba, talking to reporters just an hour ago, the operation is so far deemed a succes but "still ongoing" and more info will follow in the days ahead. 

What is clear is that the operation is aimed at eliminating the GRCD and formally ending the civil war. While the operation seems to be largely executed independently by New Verham, the partners within the still active ASM have reportedly provided intelligence and logistical support, with rumoured participation by the Dual Republic in that field as well.

Construction is expected to begin early next year, pending final regulatory approvals.

Funding for the railway will be provided primarily through the Reconstruction and Stability Agency (RASA), which recently received a 30 billion capital injection from the Empire of Luthori. Officials confirmed that RASA will cover the majority of initial construction costs, with additional financing to be arranged through long-term development bonds issued jointly by New Verham and Seko. The high-speed rail line will span approximately 780 kilometers and is designed to reduce travel time between Altaai and Kumasaki from over twelve hours to just under three. The line will support both passenger and high-value freight traffic, with dedicated terminals planned at major industrial and logistics hubs along the route. Butu Monx, New Verham’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasized the diplomatic significance of the project. “This agreement represents a shift from transactional cooperation to long-term strategic partnership,” he said. “The railway binds our futures together in a very literal sense.”

On the Seko side, Prime Minister Koiso described the deal as “a decisive investment in growth and resilience,” noting that improved access to Altaai’s port infrastructure would significantly lower export costs for Seko’s manufacturing and technology sectors. 

Ersen - The government of the Republic of New Verham has formally declared the country’s civil war over following the rapid collapse of the Gaoist Republic of Central Dovani (GRCD), ending years of division that began in the aftermath of the independence conflict. The announcement came after a coordinated offensive by the New Verham Defense Force (NVDF) that dismantled GRCD defensive positions along the former demilitarized zone (DMZ) and secured key population centers inside the breakaway territory. 

President Yeke Anarba, speaking from the capital, described the operation as “the final chapter of a painful but necessary struggle to restore constitutional order.”

For nearly two years, the DMZ had remained largely quiet, with both NVDF and GRCD forces maintaining defensive positions while New Verham rebuilt its military capabilities through the Absolute Support Mission (ASM) and foreign assistance. That stalemate ended when NVDF air-assault brigades launched a coordinated attack supported by artillery and air power. Helicopter-borne units crossed the DMZ while armored cavalry forces secured border positions, effectively dissolving the zone and overwhelming GRCD defenses. Military officials later confirmed that GRCD command structures collapsed within hours of the initial strikes, with remaining fighters dispersing or surrendering.

While most GRCD defensive positions collapsed quickly during the NVDF offensive, fighting in the GRCD capital of Ersen lasted longer than military planners had anticipated. GRCD loyalist units, including elements of the Republican Guard and local militia formations, concentrated their remaining forces in the city center and several industrial districts. Urban combat slowed the NVDF advance as defenders used barricades, fortified government buildings, and improvised explosive devices to delay the capture of key administrative sites. Electricity and communications in the city were disrupted during the fighting, and thousands of civilians sheltered in basements or fled toward surrounding rural areas.

After several days of street-by-street operations, NVDF mechanized infantry secured the presidential compound and broadcasting facilities, effectively ending organized GRCD resistance. Remaining fighters reportedly abandoned coordinated defense efforts soon afterward, marking the final collapse of GRCD authority.

Despite the declaration of victory, reunification is expected to be complex. Former GRCD territories face damaged infrastructure, disrupted local economies, and lingering political tensions. Integrating local populations into national institutions will likely require significant investment and careful governance. Still, for many citizens, the end of the conflict marks a historic milestone.

Gemun - In the Bianjie capital of Gemun leaders and negotiators from New Verham, Bianjie and Xsampa met in a summit that many believe to be a turning point for the region. It has been years since the region banded together in support of the new Republic of New Verham, launching the Absolute Support Mission to help its military recovery and later the RASA, which continues to be a integral part of New Verham's development. 

But following the capitulation of the Gaoist Republic of Central Dovani (GRCD) the need for the Absolute Support Mission dissapated. The New Verham Defense Force has shown its capabilities and its ability to operate independently. At the same time, regional partners seek to lower their direct involvement in New Verham, preffering a direct partnership with a independent Republic. To this end, the three main partners within the ASM came together in Gemun to discuss the next step in regional cooperation, resulting in the dissolution of the ASM. 

All foreign advisors and personell will leave New Verham in the coming weeks, with ongoing procurement projects to be finalized. But the Gemun Summit didnt just end the ASM. President Anarba and his Xsampan and Bianjie counterparts signed the new "Military Operational Framework", which stipulates that the three will launch a intelligence sharing mechanism and intensify cooperation between their militaries and police agencies. Additionally the President announced that negotiations on a new security organization will continue after the summit, with all three nations "dedicated to look for ways to enhance regional security and stability." 

Leaked documents reveal that such a organization would be more then a simple security agreement, being given the authority to aid in disaster relieve and deepen intergration of the military-industrial complexes of the three regional powers. Geruun - At the Bulaqadar Air Base near the New Verhamese city of Geruun the first test flight of the newly dubbed "DF-07" multirole fighter jet has been deemed a success following nearly a year of intense investments and around the clock work. The Dovanian Aerospace Consortium, consisting of 17 defense companies from both countries, has been tasked with the creation of a modern 4.5 generation multirole aircraft capable of serving as the main jet for both the New Verhamese Air Force and its Bianjie counterpart. In the last year, all effort went towards the creation of a single propotype, which has been equipped with the basic equipment planned to be incorporated on the jet, as well as its newly designed radar system specifically developed for use on the DF-07. 

In its first test flight, the jet took off from Bulaqadar Air Base and flew a total of 10 minutes, performing several maneavours and testing its radar systems for the first time. When it returned to the BAP, it managed to land safely, resulting in a succesfull test. Air commander of the BAP Sartak Ganbataar called it "a great first step" in the endeavour to produce a Dovani made modern jet. The prototype lacks many of the eventual features, but will be continiously upgraded and serve as the testing bed for future development of the DF-07. 

Minister of Defense Jali Bukha explained the challenges ahead, as the ASM has formally ended. Funding for the project has now been relying on the national governments of both New Verham and Bianjie, both of which have pledged to continue funding the project for the foreseeable future. The project is not just seen as a chance for a indigenous multirole fighter but also a chance for the countless defense companies working on it to gather experience in the field and enhance their own operations, benefitting other areas of the military-industrial complex in return. 

It is expected that development of the DF-07 will take at least another 10 years before it is fully combat ready and procurement of large quantities of the aircraft can commence.
