The legacy we leave: NDP leader Lionel Crosby meets with Native Likatonian leaders

NDP leader Lionel Crosby attended a summit with Native Likatonian leaders today, he says that he will stand with our native Likatonian communities and calls for president mendelev to do the same. He promised to protect tribal sovereignty and revitalize our native Likatonian communities. The chronicle spoke to Mr Crosby shortly after the summit here's what he said,
Quote:We've had a fantastic meeting we're going to invest in our native communities, from day 1 I'm going to be a president for all Likatonians I promise you that. We're going to start by putting Likatonians first then we're going to make peace with our neighbours and we're going to stand up for ourselves unlike Mendelev who is just cozying up to the Kalistani empress, Likatonia is being left behind on the world stage because of social conservative policies. Our foreign policy I've never seen it in such a bad state, our healthcare in crisis waiting lists are going up they have never been so high, our economy well lets not even go there. I just heard the news President Mendelev got attacked by a cow the whole national democratic party is deeply saddened and wishes him a full and speedy recovery. We say to Mendelev call the elections now put it to the people, because really it's just one excuse after another with that man, a president now clinging on to power by his fingertips.
What unites us as Likatonians is the belief that all Likatonians are equal no matter who they are, that is my central belief. Together we will preserve and celebrate our traditions and cultures so that they can be passed on to the next generation, each community is unique with a diverse range of languages, practices and traditions. Vote for change, vote National democratic party, vote Crosby for president.
From the beginning until the end, we are all Likatonian.

RULING PARTY IN LIKATONIA GETS A REBRAND 

Bertram Mendelev has announced the rebrand of his party with immediate effect. The ruling party shall now be referred to as the 'Traditionalist Workers Party' which Mendelev says represents the party's narrative of protecting worker's rights by removing corruption and capitalism, and also reaffirming their position on what they call 'woke' politics and protecting moral marital and social norms. Experts at the Chronicle is significant as it correlates with Hammer's announcement about their shift to populism, however most policies will likely remain the same.

NATIONALIST MOVEMENT DISBANDED AND INVADED BY CLIMATE FANATICS


The Former Party, Nationalist Movement has been disbanded and a climate fanatical party has replaced it. This is after months of seemingly infinite unpopularity for the party, and it's vision. Many key members have left and some have taken up minor roles in other right-leaning parties. The new party named, Eco Likatonia, seems fanatical about 'climate change' and seems to be willing to ruin the Likatonian economy in order to achieve it's green aims.
This drastic change in policy was met with protests by young and brainwashed climate fanatics who put fear into the streets of Clovisport, praising the rise of this extremist woke party.  

In response to the development, the President sarcastically welcomed the party into the politics of Likatonia, saying another NDP minion has been created and that the nationalists of this country are being undermined. 

"We can expect the new eco fanatics to vote exactly how the NDP and the deluded Lionel Crosby say, exactly when they want. Just another NDP minion like the Liberals and Socialists, we hope Progressiva isn't compromised soon."

In other news, the President later in the discussion with one of our news reporters commented that he will be accepting the offer to visit Gadurious, and hopes to have positive discussions with the leadership. Experts believe that this is an important step to achieving normal relations with all Seleyan nations, as Mendelev will attempt to further re-establish ties with the greater anant sphere.

KALOPIA WITHDRAWS FROM SOLENTIA AFTER INTERNATIONAL PRESSURE

After years of war and famine, Kalopian forces have withdrawn much to the delight of Solentian Factions. Questions will have to be asked about possible war crimes by both sides and international humanitarian groups call for an urgent enquiry. President Mendelev called for an independent investigation into allegations of war crimes by both sides. He also praised peace talks, most notably in Clovisport, which pressured the withdrawal and asked questions about Ahmadi Union's connection to Ahmadi State. However, he concluded that overall the peace talks weren't successful as they did not agree on terms and the withdrawal was a Kalopian decision. 

President Mendelev also offered to meet the new government in Solentia, to ensure a fair and democratic system is created and to offer possible investments to rebuild the country. However, Mendelev specifically stated that he would not work with a state that shared any extremist ideologies and hoped Solentia would overcome the temptations of revenge on minorities.

Democracy under fire: Coup underway in Likatonia

Protesters against President Mendelev's autocratic rule have stormed congress. The chronicle is continuing to follow the shocking reports coming out of Likatonia, it appears a coup is underway. President Mendelev's whereabouts are currently unknown. In Clovisport there are reports of heavy fighting with residents being warned to stay indoors for their safety. This news is sure to have reverberating effects across Terra and could have far-reaching consequences. After 600 years of peacetime, the toppling of President Mendelev represents a seismic shift in Likatonian politics. President Mendelev declared emergency powers to enable him to stay in office, he cancelled elections, locked up political opponents and undermined our democracy. The Unelected president has now been ousted from power after a disastrous term in office. It is reported that the Likatonian military plans to restore order and peace. One Clovisport resident described the scenes as "chaotic". General Fisher told the Chronicle that the Likatonian armed forces "will restore democratic order". The chronicle as Likatonia's most trusted news source will continue to update you as these events unfold.

A new dawn: Freya Elliott sworn in as president of the United Republic of Likatonia

The Likatonian armed forces announced earlier today that the late Bertram Mendelev was killed in the coup, it is said that Mendelev would not go easily and there was a standoff. They have also released former president Freya Elliott from jail after she served almost 6 years for accepting a bribe from Kundrati. Freya Elliott has been sworn in as president of the United Republic of Likatonia, she addressed the nation earlier today,
Quote:I have just been sworn in as president of Likatonia. Mendelev tried to lock us up, he went after his political opponents, he then tried to cling on to power. It shows that our nation has lost its way. I have ordered the Likatonian armed forces to restore order on the streets of Clovisport. My fellow Likatonians Mendelev tried to undermine our democracy but he failed time and again. That speaks to the courage and determination of the Likatonian people, to stand up for what is right. Likatonia real change is coming, you better believe it. We're going to restore trust in our politics.
President Elliott is back after serving over 6 years in jail, she says she will restore trust and heal Likatonia.

The National Democratic Party, has with the help of its allies, removed the legitimate government in Likatonia. Key members of the government have been killed or arrested. We advise all Likatonians who have ties to the legitimate government to flee or go into hiding. 

As we turn the page onto the 5600 century, despotism and corruption has re-emerged in our great nation.

The remnants of the free workers party, call on our nation to oppose the incoming regime's committed stance to destroying our culture and destroying the rights of the worker. The notorious 3 Cs, Capitalism, Corruption and Cultural-whitewash have prevailed.

Despite this loss, the free workers will prevail, our culture restored and corruption purged.

BREAKING NEWS: MASSACRE IN CLOVISPORT - AT LEAST 1200 DEAD AND OVER 3400 INJURED 

Over 100,000 citizens of Likatonia  swathed the streets of the Likatonian Capital, Clovisport calling for President Elliott to leave. 
The Military was deployed and murdered 1000s and injured many more. Many soldiers have defected to the resistance.

Elliott's evil regime has murdered many of our people, Likatonians. 

The Workers Liberation Movement promises action, against the Tyrannical regime. 

We must rally the people - against the tyranny of Elliot's fascist regime.

On the Frontline: General Fisher declares Likatonia is at war

Likatonia's president Elliott has resumed the military alliance with Kundrati and has requested military assistance, to help put down the growing tide of violence from what are believed to be Mendelev loyalists. The Likatonian workers movement have unleashed chaos on ordinary Likatonians we must all remain united against the tyrannical workers movement. So far it is unclear who the leader of the workers movement is. It is expected that Kundratian peacekeepers will soon be deployed to Likatonia they will help to keep the peace and end this cycle of conflict. There are reports of heavy fighting particularly in the northern regions, however it should be noted that the Likatonian armed forces have air superiority. Likatonia is fighting for freedom and democracy. We spoke to general fisher earlier today he told us this,
Quote:We are at war. The LAF is ready and fully equipped to fight this workers movement, the president has given us clear instructions to restore order and that is what we will do. So far fighting has been predominantly located in the northern regions. Citizens in affected regions are advised to comply with instructions from the LAF. 
Q:And does this workers liberation movement have a leader?
Our inteligence says that this is a well organised movement of Mendelev loyalists.
We'll be able to provide further updates in due course.
Concerns are mounting over whether this conflict is slowly becoming internationalized and what this means for the rest of terra. It can only be hoped that peace will prevail in Terra.
