Rapa Pile is based primarily on Sri Lanka but there is inspiration from the Comoros, southern India, and Mauritius too.

Kotese (Sinhala) is the most commonly spoken language in Rapa Pile. In addition to being the first language of the Kotese (Sinhalese) people, it functions as a lingua franca for the rest of the population.
