Watashina, Midway. Concerning news have came from Midway as the governor of the central bank Arashi Nobuzaku has officially declared that Midway will not be able to payback the debts it has accumulated over the past decades in addition to officially declaring the country as bankrupt. The announcement caused a major crash in the stockmarket as investors massively tried selling their shares as fast as possible in order to ease their ongoing fall, this reaction caused a massive hysteria to catch the population seeing the indicators all point down in deep red, banks witnessed their cash reserves empty up in the blink of an eye which has then forced the government to ban all withdrawals of money for an indefinite period alongside declaring the state emergency nationwide. Shortly after the declaration of martial law, protests broke out throughout the entirety of the isles as protests reclaimed the resignation of the current sitting president and complete slash of the military budget, which the governor of the central bank accused of being the main cause that pushed Midway into the debt spiral. The government, and especially the military, did not take too kindly to the sudden rebellion of their citizens this prompted the start of a massive arrest campaign against leaders of the opposition and surprisingly the leader of the Confederation of Workers, Merchants, and Artisans of Midway, Qiao Jian shared live on social media police officers raiding her officers who then handed her a notice stating that her union, the biggest organized union of Midway, was no illegal under the presidential decree N°37010-03 which also makes her a so called "enemy of the proletarian state" but fortunately Qiao escaped before being caught in the police. Before ending her broadcast, she called all members of the confederation and its sister organization the ASPNSI to all mobilize in order to restore "transparent and popular democracy". Now the world watches as its gateway of Dovani burns with the fires seemingly growing in ferocity and impact by the minute marking a turn in the small nation's history and possibly the start of a domino effect.

Chaos erupts in parliament as members of the rulling party overthrow the government and launch an impeachment procedure against the president, martial law extended indefinitely: the wonders of parliamentarism
Watashina, Midway. The situation in the republic of Midway keeps on unravelling into a mess bigger than any of the storms that has hit the nation in its modern history as parliament has officially broken down into chaos with members of the rulling People's Power Party of Midway ousting the government in a no-confidence triggered following several major companies declaring bankruptcy. The parliamentarians accuse the government of mishandling the current economic crisis by refusing to drastically cut down the military budget and nationalize failing companies as the finance ministry has repeatedly refused any and all forms of governmental intervention in the crisis other than in the form of putting a cap on the amount of money withdrawn by individuals from the banks. However it seems that this laissez-faire approach is currently worsening the crisis even more as companies have laid off thousands of workers at once in order to save as much money as possible, the lay offs provoked a spike in unemployment and a radicalization of the protests as the CWMAM and its sister organizations have all mobilized their members in retaliation for the militarization of the state following the start of the crisis. In addition, parliament launched an impeachment procedure against the current sitting president after successfully ousting the government, the president stated that he will refuse to recognize any motion to forcefully make him leave office whilst parliament has extended martial law to an indefinite period of time to the disarray of protesters who hoped that dialogue between the government and protesters would start once the government is ousted. Due to the extension of martial law, Qiao Jiang has declared that the people of Midway will forcefully oust the entire political system themselves if their demands aren't meant whilst the military has also threatened to coup parliament if the crisis isn't dealt with within the following 100 days.

President Caleb Halili ousted from power by the "Sakura Coalition", Qiao Jiang sworen in as new president promising to shock therapy the country into the modern era: empty or real promises?
Watashina, Midway. Shocking news have came from Midway as the nation has finally ousted its entire government including both the presidency and parliament, the move came after 3 long years of unprecedented protests rocking the country's very existential foundations. The Confederation of Workers, Merchants, and Artists of Midway, led by Qiao Jiang officially formed the "Sakura Coalition" with its sister organization the Association for the Promotion of Pan Natonalist and Social Ideas under the idea of forming one united front against the authorities, and it seems that their strategy worked. During a rally in front of the parliamentary building, Qiao Jiang ordered her protesters to "March down the Avaneu of Independence and reclaim our sovereign right to popular and democratic rule, enough of the backwardness gripping our government! It is time to transform Midway into the modern version of itself!" Her supporters didn't waste any second as immediately after her speech, they stormed into parliament and the supreme court to have the immediately pass the impeachment procedure launched 3 years ago that got stalled by the president using the judges he personally appointed to delay the motion as much as possible. However, president Caleb Halili refused to resign even after both parliament and the supreme court approved the impeachment procedure, his move caused outrage among protesters as they all stormed into the presidential palace, but to their surprise, Cleb had already fled the premises and even left his official resignation letter on his desk. Shortly after the complete ousting of all politicians in Midway, parliament elected Qiao Jiang as president with an unanimous vote, making her the first female and Yingdalan president of Midway. During her inaugurational speech, Qiao promised to "radically transform our great country into a beast no one can tame," and "reclaim our right over the canal that has been shamelessly sold to those dirty plutocrats from Narikaton and Darnussia, trust me the days of their control over the control are numbered. We will wait for the perfect moment to strike and purge the filth from our land." International observers now watch with an eager eye as yet another country in Dovani has fallen prey to the flames of the revolution and potentially the blazes of the pan gaoic spring that had recently hit Utari Musir.

Fukkyu Party and Qiao Jiang win decisively the 5610 general elections, formation of the Federal Gaoic Republic of Midway and start of the GCA proclaimed : a goaic dream?
Watashina, Midway. In an outcome that has shocked nobody, the Fukkyu party of Midway with the collaboration of the CWMAM and ASPNSI have won the 5610 general elections with a landslide as they secured 96% of the votes which makes them the sole party allowed in parliament because all other parties automatically failed to reach the 5% threshold not only that but many of the former parties that used to exist before the floral revolution saw their membership dwindle until they all officially announced their dissolution. In addition, the formation of the Midway branch of the Fukkyu party and its victory have made it clear the people's wish for the formation of a unified goaic Republic that will unite the region under the beliefs of unity, class collaboration, and freedom. When it comes to the presidential election, Qiao Jiang secured the votes of 93% of the population in the first round, making her the first president to ever achieve this in the history of Midway, her opponent was the leader of now defunct People's Power Party who barely managed to get support from his own party before the election. What shocked many within the international community was the fact that the non Gaoic 7 ethnicities voted overwhelmingly in favor of Qiao even tho she ran a pangaoic campaign promising to wipe off the Luthorian language from Midway in favor of Kattakana.
Shortly after the officiallization of the results by the supreme court, Qiao Jiang held during her inauguration a speech in front of an ecstatic crowd in which she declared the official dissolution of the Republic of Midway instead replaced by the Federal Gaoic Republic of Midway alongside declaring the members of her government which is surprisingly female dominated with the first female premier in Midway's history, not only but she also announced the start of the Great Cultural Awakening, a massive campaign aimed at erasing Luthorian from Midway, she then urged her supporters to burn everything and anything related to the Luthorian language in addition to the threat that the new government will "punish" anyone who refuses speaking Kattakana instead of Luthorian. Immediately following the speech, thousands of books have started being burned to then be replaced by Kattakana translated books alongside the taking down of all Luthorian words from government and private buildings even within the canal itself.

Today in front of yet another massive crowd of supporters, the current Midway president, Qiao Jiang has declared the end of the Great Cultural Awakening as the remaining traces of the Luthorian language were wiped off from the country, the speakers of Luthorian were either willingly dropped the language in favor of Kunaka or were "enlightened" by the authorities. Hundred of thousands of books were burned, statues toppled, and buildings desecrated as nothing could stop the fanatical followers of Qiao or her government. Labor unions saw themselves be integrated into the CWMAM and their sister unions or face the wrath of the president and her fans, NGOs were shut down on grounds of espionage and foreing interference while individuals rights were restricted to historical levels through the enactment of a law allowing for anybody's rights to be suspended if seen fit by the presidency. In a matter of only 10 years, Midway went from one of Dovani's richest and most free nations into a totalitarian exploitative system that has successfully brainwashed its population by selling them dreams of a greater Gaoic state while the other minorities see their hard earned rights stripped bare with the abolition of all autonomous ethnic states in favor of even more privileges being granted to members of the Gaoic ethnicities. Further more, during her speech she also openly threatened to block and permanently ban New Verham from the Midway canal unless they release the currently imprisoned political leader, Nara Toshiro, she described his arrest as unjustifiable and another proof of the fear spreading within "enemies of Gaoic unity" especially descendants of artanian colons which Qiao considers as filth that must be cleaned off the dovanian continent. Now everyone watches eagerly as the iron lady of Midway sets her gaze northward toward both Utari Mosir, who recently installed a pan goaic government, and New Verham who is on the brink of toppling their government too.

Proclamation of the United Gaoic Republic as Midway ratifies the New Confederation Treaty while millions celebrate the union, Midway officially abolished: Start of the Gaoic century?
Watashina, Midway. Today marks a historic date in the history of both Midway and Dovani, as all of Midway, Mu Tze (New Verham), and Utari Mosir have ratified the New Confederation Treaty officially establishing the United Gaoic Republic. The three pan Gaoic governments have been in talks concerning the Inevitable unification that would eventually give birth to yet another megastate on the eastern hemisphere of Terra, the new state will be Terra's third biggest country by mass and the 33th nation by population which means it will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future but in the meantime the first national diet is set to be held in Chukyo under the careful eye of the new president Nara Toshiro who will lead the socialist union. While delegations of the now defunct Midway government, headed by Qiao Jiang, are busy in Chukyo, millions are celebrating in Watashina as the flag of Federal Gaoic Republic of Midway was lowered to be then replaced by the flag of Gishoto, signaling an end to thousand of years of history as the nation enters a brand new era as one of the founding members of the UGR.

Who will lead midway now?

The air smelled of burning paper and propaganda posters. The streets were filled with thousands of people screaming and running wild as the country plunged into crisis. Qiao is gone. No one is left to lead the government but for the first time in many years, the loudspeakers were silent.
Police officers were called in to control the crowds while military personnel began taking action against civilians. Thirteen people have died and many more were injured or arrested. Posters appeared across the city calling on citizens to rise against the fascist regime. Their message was clear, written boldly in Luthorian: “Let Us Live.”
But who is to blame for this madness? The government? The military? Or the citizens of Midway themselves?
Perhaps it was the people who once supported and voted for Qiao’s party, those who believed this nation should be ruled by a strong hand. Were they fooled? Manipulated by propaganda until they had no other choice but to follow the fallen leader?
Now what? Who will lead Midway next?
The only answer, for now, comes from the military. A group of senior generals has formed the National Recovery Team (NRT), a temporary government created “to ensure the safety of the nation.” Parliament will remain closed, all courts have suspended their duties and military law is now in effect. Police departments are ordered to work overtime and all labor unions are temporarily banned until new elections can be held.
Is the country facing an even greater crisis or is this finally the moment when Midway begins to change its fate?

Between Revolution and Order

The sky, clear and starry, awaits the great political change that is about to come. The people remain on the streets. Students, pupils, teachers and other scholars continue to demonstrate against the harsh conditions prevailing in the country.
What else awaits them?
With the imposition of Martial Law and the dissolution of Parliament, the governance of the nation has fallen into the background. Alongside the National Recovery Team, the Independent Military League has been established, openly supporting the imposition of a dictatorship to unleash absolute violence against the communists who have taken control of the streets and universities.
It is indeed a fact that universities across the country remain closed, as students and their unions have locked the gates and declared a state of siege to resist the League’s operations. The League has already begun persecutions against leftist organizations and citizens.
But who exactly is this Military League?
The Independent Military League of Solidarity (IMLS) was founded under Field Marshal Saito Masakage to defend the integrity of the homeland, which, according to them, is endangered by the arbitrary and misguided actions of the National Recovery Team.
Despite its staunchly anti-communist ideology, the League claims to fight for the reopening of Parliament and the holding of free elections including the participation of left-wing parties that, in the League’s view, commit to certain conditions.
For now, little has changed.
The National Recovery Team has begun to withdraw from political affairs, while the Military League rises independently within the sphere of governance, seeking to restore order to society. Yet it now faces two major leftist factions, Red Horizon (赤い地平線), a leftist student movement known for its active character and responsibility for the occupations of national universities, and New Dawn (新しい夜明け), a left wing socialist organization.
Events are moving rapidly and no one knows what the next government of the country will be.
But one thing is certain… we are now entering a new era.

Ash, Silence and Order

Ash hangs in the air above the capital, carried by the remains of the recent protests. Every night, the city seems to stop at 9 p.m, the students’ hour. After sunset, the students dominate the streets. Roads fill with young people calling for the Military League to step down from power, urging citizens to strike, rise up and organize a revolution against the generals.
The Red Horizon (赤の光界), the most radical student organization in the country, continues to keep the university gates closed. They organize guard shifts, set up barricades and call on the people “not to submit to military tyranny.” They accuse the League of “preparing a new, even harsher dictatorship.” Representatives of the group say they are ready to fight the tyrants who walk over the bodies of innocent citizens.
Meanwhile, New Dawn (新しい夜明け) seems to take a more moderate stance. While they condemn the persecutions and the Martial Law, they leave open the possibility of a dialogue with Arakawa, a move that already causes internal tension in the left movement, as many see it as a betrayal of left wing principles.
In response to the decisions of the left wing groups, the Independent Military League ordered the immediate reopening of all universities. “Education cannot remain a hostage to extreme groups,” said the League’s spokesperson. Security forces have already been deployed around the major institutions of the capital...
Public fear of a possible military assault on the universities grows day by day. A few days ago, the Military League positioned tanks in front of the Law School’s main gate, while students hung from the railings shouting: “The university belongs to the people, not to fascism!”
Representatives of the student unions have already gathered at the central steps of the university, awaiting the developments and the decisions of the military…
