Titov Backs Conservative Agenda

Surpressing fears within his own party that the government will succumb to a liberal agenda with the inclusion of the Dorvische Republikaner, Kanzler Titov has today thrown his party's support behind a raft of conservative bills proposed by the opposing Dorvische Partei, including de-recognition of gay marriage in Dorvik, polygamy, and gun control. He risks an early rift with his Republican allies who in no doubt will vote against the proposals.

VD Announce Early Endorsement for Republikaner President

Speaking to the media from outside party headquarters in Haldor, former candidate for President Vladik Zaitsev has announced that he will not be contesting the next election. He speaks as Vereinigt Dorvik caucus passes a motion to endorse the Dorvische Republikaner candidate for the nation's President, honouring a previously negotiated agreement in exchange for their support in cabinet. Zaitsev retains his control of the Party Presidency and remains the party's leading spokesperson.

Zaitsev Condemns Mumbach Murder

After hearing about the death of Dr. Horst Mumbach, Vereinigt Dorvik Party President Vladik Zaitsev has joined in a chorus of voices condemning his murder and called for the police to investigate thouroughly. He says he would support a motion inside the party's caucus to lend support for a 'Secret Service' to be formed and included in the next budget. They would be tasked with protecting all serving members of the Volkskammer, government, and figures of all registered parties deemed 'important'. Zaitsev calls Dr. Mumbach's death 'a loss to all of Dorvik'.

Minister of Internal Affairs General Sigmund Kerner announces formation of the Dorvish State Security Service
In the wake of Dr. Mumbach's death the new Minister of Internal Affairs broadens the mission of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Haldor, Kordusia - General Sigmund Kerner announced the creation of the State Security Service (Dorvische: Staatssicherheitsdienst) in the wake of the murder of Dr. Horst Mumbach, the party spokeperson for the Dorvish Republicans. General Kerner served as a Colonel in the Dorvish Internal Troops until he was voted into the People's Chamber for the Leneufels Constituency of Miktar. Kerner announced that the State Security Service would be responsible for the protection of all foreign and domestic diplomats, ambassadors and the like. Kerner accepted personal responsibility for the murder stating that "Its with deep regret that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and myself personally accepts responsibility for the murder of Dr. Mumbach." Kerner also announced the contract between the Dorvish National Police and the Ministry of Justice has been suspended, the Dorvish National Police will now fall directly under control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the investigative branch will correspond with the Ministry of Justice.

Dorvische Republikaner members enraged at lack of security.
Certain passing of the Paramilitary Exclusion Bill a death sentence for DR members?

Haldor, Kordusia - The party members of the Dorvische Republikaner are enraged by soon to be ban on paramilitary activity for political parties. The Paramilitary Exclusion Bill will ban paramilitary groups and prosecute the parties that continue to have a paramilitary department. The DR paramilitary, Sicherheits-Abteilung, was solely responsible for guarding and protecting party members of the Dorvische Republikaner. With the death of Dr. Mumbach it became clear for all party officials that there was a great need for an even larger security network. Now however, the security department has been disbanded due to the new regulations. Rumours go that most of the former S-A members have been hired by a new company called Haldor Sicherheit GmbH. The Haldor Sicherheit company has recently opened it's doors in the nation's capital, the owners turn out to be the von Bismarck family. A Haldor Sicherheit spokesman has said they are under permanent contract of the Dorvische Republikaner. Party president Gustav Horch said "With the increased security delivered by the skilled men and women at Haldor Sicherheit our party members and their families can feel safe again."

Breaking News: Titov Rushed to Hospital After Massive Stroke

Breaking news, Kanzler Ilya Titov of Dorvik has been rushed to the Memorial Hospital after reportedly suffering a massive stroke at his Haldorian residence tonight, where he was spending time with family. His situation is said to be critical although doctors are refusing to comment on the condition of the Kanzler. It is understood that the family of the Kanzler is also at the hospital along with close friend and Vereinigt Dorvik Party President Vladik Zaitsev.

Dorvish security forces engage Communist group

Kenewald, Dorvan - The Dorvish Internal Troops engaged in a fierce firefight with the Revolutionary Red Army of Workers and Peasants, a revolutionary socialist group that was reportedly disbanded after the death of its leader and founder, Ivailo Kiefer. Major Luben Dimov of the DIT reported that the firefight lasted nearly two and a half hours before the security forces were able to overrun the position of the terrorist. This is the first terrorist attack in Dorvik since the RRAWP bombed a government building in Haldor in June 3196. Minister of Internal Affairs Lieutenant General (Dorvish Internal Troops) Sigmund Kerner spoke a special session of the People's Chamber and described the necessity for calm and restraint against those of the left orientation.

Breaking News: Family Announces and Mourns the Death of Ilya Titov

It was the early hours of the night at 3.02am this morning when doctors discovered that the Kanzler, Ilya Titov had passed as a result of a massive stroke just yesterday. Kept in the emergency ward he was given 24/7 care and had not been moved from critical condition. Maria Titov, Ilya's wife, has made the announcement through tears to the press side by side with long time friend and colleague Vladik Zaitsev. It is understood that last night while spending time with family the Kanzler and father of four collapsed. He was rushed to Memorial Hospital in Haldor by ambulance and taken into emergency care.

Meanwhile letters and tributes have been flowing in as a result of the news of his collapse.

Inspiring three of four of them to enter politics themselves, two of our sons and our only daughter are important members of Vereinigt Dorvik on a regional level. I couldn't be more proud of them and we are all devastated at the loss to our family at present" - Maria Titov, Wife

"Ilya was a colleague and close friend of mine and I am in such grief to come to terms of the loss with a great asset to our nation. I cannot find the words to describe my sense of loss, and my condolenses to Maria and her three sons and one daughter." - Vladik Zaitsev, VD Party President

"It has been an honor to serve Ilya in Cabinet and it is with great sadness that I hear of his sudden passing. Dorvik has truely lost a statesman and hero." -Dmitri Kovalev, Finance Minister

With news of the Kanzler's passing dominating the news at the moment some are questioning in the event of his death who takes over as Kanzler. Some are nominating Vladik Zaitsev to temporarily serve in his place but he is not a member of the Volkskammer. There is also some debate as to the future of the Coalition as Titov was one of the leading advocates of working with the Republicans and Conservatives. Fielding questions on this issue, Zaitsev has refused to make comments as to the future of the party saying that he, along with other senior figures will meet to resolve the issue.

Titov is expected to be afforded a state funeral with announcements to be made soon.

Dorvische Republikaner mourn loss of good friend and coalition partner.
Party members wear black in honour of chancellor Titov.

Haldor, Kordusia - The entire DR party has been seen in only black clothing after the family of chancellor Titov announced his death. Even the Duke von Bismarck, known for his flamboyant suits, was spotted in a simple black suit. Party spokesman, Gottfried von Bismarck, announced that the entire party mourns the loss of chancellor Titov. "Chancellor Ilya Titov was a great politician and an even greater man, his solid and direct leadership guided our nation for the last years securing our right-wing cabinet. We saw him both as a dear friend and as a fine colleague, his loss will be dearly missed among all of the DR members. The differences between our parties where large, but his skilled use in the art of negotiation made it possible for us to have a right-wing cabinet. We bring our greatest condolences to the Titov family." DR party members have not put forward any bills, acts, motions or discussions since the death of Titov. The party believes a moment of silence is a good way to honour chancellor Titov. Former chancellor Horch has put his name forward to temporarily fulfill the role of chancellor until new elections or deals are made, he stated he has no intention to run for chancellor next election but only wants to keep the creation of chancellor Titov in place.

Zaitsev backs Horch for Acting Chancellor

Vladik Zaitsev has today backed calls to restore Horch to the temporary role of Kanzler until at least as far as the next election, in order to keep cabinet functioning. A former Chancellor, Horch leads Vereinigt Dorvik's natural ally in the Volkskammer, the Dorvische Republikaner. Meanwhile, he has resisted calls to make a more formal announcement as to who will lead United Dorvik in the Volkskammer.

In other news, a raft of minor parties have been registered in the lead up to the next election. A special meeting has been organised this week to discuss the future of the party which must be resolved as timely as possible if VD is to stand any chance.

Director-General of the Artanian Union, Siegel, warns Gauridos.

Schrudehofen, Kordusia - In the first press release, the Artanian Union acting Director-General, Gotthilf Siegel denounced Gauridos's plan to attack Malivia. Despite Malivia not being a member of the Artanian Union the Director-General is adamant that many Artanian nations will join the organization and help promote freedom and peace throughout Artania.

    It is with great displeasure that my first address to the citizens of Artania is in reference to a threat to the sovereignty of one of our own. Gauridos, a nominal neutral country has threatened the nation of Malivia at the very southern tip of Artania. This is inexcusable, Malivia has been a bastion of a fair constitutional monarchy since many of us can remember. Any attack on Malivia should warrant attention from us all; isolationist or not, an infringement on sovereignty of an Artanian nation could very well be a prelude to Gaurdios to attempt to attack other nations which have ties with Malivia or Artania as a whole. Diplomacy should be resumed and kept at the forefront, a brutal war has already been fought and it cannot be reversed.

Finance Minister Dmitri Kovalev Endorsed as New Leader

After several hours of negotiations in the partyroom, it has been finally announced that Dmitri Kovalev, current Finance Minister, will serve as leader in the Volkskammer for Vereinigt Dorvik. Vladik Zaitsev was overwhelmingly re-elected as Party President after some discussion took place as to whether the party should take a new direction, but they decided to stick with the incumbant. Kovalev, a moderate, may play an interesting role for the future of the Vereinigt Dorvik. Titov was in some ways quite staunch in his views which created small rifts with their most natural allies, Dorvische Republikaner. The Finance Minister is said to personally support a lot of Liberal policies which could lead to greater collaboration between the two.

Meanwhile, Dorvische Partei who has secured a majority in the Volkskammer along with their allies the Sozialistische Neuwirtschaftspartei, has been trying to coax the new leader in agreeing to a 'grand coalition', even proposing that he lead as Kanzler. Kovalev has simply commented, that they could not for the sake of their integrity agree to a coalition with the socialists.
