Alduria is a nation in the South of the continent of Seleya with a culture based primarily on France, but developed as a colonial culture. Alduria can be considered an equivalent of Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador if the predominant language were French instead of Spanish. Alduria is similar to the neighboring nations Kanjor and Rildanor, in that its French culture and language is of colonial origin, dating from the 19th century when the Selucian Empire (the Roman Empire if it was a European colonial empire) took control of Alduria from the Anti (RL: Quechua) and Imiri (RL: Aymara) kingdoms already there.

Selucian rule resulted in the modern Canrillaise language (RL: French) emerging as a creole, and when the Selucian Empire collapsed and Alduria gained independence in its modern form, the old Anti and Imiri divisions were replaced with a unified Selucian-influenced identity. Alduria retains small minorities belonging to its indigenous pre-Selucian populations; most of them are fluent in Canrillaise and have Canrillaise names, though some use Anti (Quechua) names.

Alduria has a long history of personal union with and influence from Luthori, similarly to the northern neighbor Mordusia. As such there is a significant Mordusian (English Australian and New Zealander) minority.

Alduria is a southern Seleya nation whose culture, rooted in colonial Canrillaise (French) heritage, blends indigenous Anti (Quechua) and Imiri (Aymara) traditions. Once a colony of the Selucian Empire—a Roman-style power—it evolved a creole identity that unites native and European roots. Influenced by Luthori and Mordusia, Alduria is defined by its fusion of faith, language, and colonial legacy.

Ethnicities - The majority Canrillaise (French) population descends from Selucian settlers and creoles. Indigenous Anti (Quechua) and Imiri (Aymara) minorities persist, blending native roots with Canrillaise culture. The nation also hosts Mordusian (Anglo-Australian/New Zealander) and Pinnois (Haitian) communities, plus smaller Willitu (Mapuche) and mixed populations.

Pinnois / Haitian / 2%

Religions - Hosianism (Christianity) dominates Alduria’s faith landscape, chiefly through the Aurorian Patriarchal (Roman Catholic) branch. Indigenous Antimaran beliefs endure alongside minority Agathist and Ahmadist (Islamic) groups, with irreligion present among the urban population.

Languages - Canrillaise (French Creole) is Alduria’s official and dominant language, shaped by Selucian colonial history. Anti (Quechua) and Imiri (Aymara) survive as cultural touchstones among indigenous communities, often bilingual with Canrillaise.

Guidelines - Names should reflect Alduria’s blend of French colonial and Andean roots, favoring Canrillaise names but allowing Quechua and Aymara influences in minority or regional roles.

Digest - Alduria fuses colonial French grace with Andean resilience. Ideal for players drawn to postcolonial politics, faith contrasts, and the interplay between old empires and surviving native traditions.
