5636: Not a meeting (Hutori)
#11
Steuart House, Bekenial, Hutori - February 2, 5636 | 10:15AM

She leaned down to look at the insides of the box. The ambience in the room was eerie, as if even the strands of the carpets themselves had a sound of their own. She looked at it, 1 of the 8 Gems of Elior; the red Diaspora Gem, once stolen, passing through the treacherous waters of the Migrant's Pass and the Artanian Sea to Keymon, to Likatonia, to Lodamun and to Trigunia, finally finding rest in this arctic wasteland.

She looked at it; and felt her breath cut short, the weight of guilt, hatred and ego crashing down on her, in that instant, as Elior, her Father, smiled at her from the dancing fire reflecting upon that cherished jewel.

She looked at it.

And wept.

King Charles III allowed his guest her moment, appreciating the centuries of history, and meaning contained in the gem his family had kept safe for untold centuries.

"We understand the need to protect the heritage of the past and have done so for as long as we need to. We seek not glory, we seek the defence of the heritage of the past and to secure it into the future. We understand this is a secret that can not remain hidden.. not any longer, not in this day and age."

The King's words echoed as if from a distance as her mind churned in ultra rapid fire mode.

"Thank you, Your Majesty", Hannah whispered, wiping the tears off her face, giving her best at pretending innocence and vulnerability; "this has been most gracious of you. The House of Elior is deeply- deeply honoured, Your Majesty".

"Thank you", she bows, trying to look as disheveled as she could master.

"Our ancient house would be honoured to share Elior's legacy and heritage with you", her confidence now coming back, emitting directness and respectful eagerness under the hawk-like glare of King Charles III.

"And welcome your bloodline and the Red Gem to the Holy Land, and upon the Throne of Yishelem".
