The only functioning part of the Dolgavan Government is seems is the monarchy, with the Queen of Dolgava Austrina attending the grand reopening of the Museum of Modern Art in Fort Karzonpils. The museum has been expanded, and a local government initiative moved the museum to a new site, after the building hosting the former site was condemned by the city and demolished. This is in stark contrast to the Social Democratic Party, which is running out of allies in the Reiksaima, as well as the general public at large. Polls show overall support for the government at 24% and growing support for Conservative and even Nationalistic causes throughout the country.
The monarchy is doing everything it can to keep stability in government, with Queen Austrina meeting with local and regional leaders in Aikums last week, and going to Karzon this week to meet with local leaders as well. This is in stark contrast to a Social Democratic Government which has seemingly lost the narrative and lost the trust of the Dolgavan people.
Despite the general distrust in the government, the same can not be said about the monarchy. Austrina holds a overwhelming favorability across Dolgava, and the monarchy as a whole has an estimated 70-80% approval rating across the country. The public presence of the Queen, as well as her ability to traverse the country and connect with nearly anyone she meets, contributes to this positive outlook.
The current government is being increasingly criticized by the "Dolgavan Patriots Front" amongst other nationalistic groups which have called the Social Democrats "traitors", and have labeled the entire Dolgavan political system as "broken". They are calling for an end to the "socialist" government, and are calling for the people of Dolgava to get rid of the current government.
Inside of the Reiksaima, internal divides in the Social Democratic Party have led legislation to deadlocks. Internal divides on how to approach the budget, as well as loyalty to the government have led all good faith negotiations to collapse. "Its a disaster" said one anonymous member of the Reiksaima from the Social Democratic Party. "We need to be united and supporting the Prime Minister, but we are all too busy squabbling amongst ourselves".
With the tides of public opinion starting to turn, will the government continue to be feckless? They cannot afford to be feckless...
