Chaos in Sholemberg as local militias take over administrative buildings and declare Free Yeudi State

Sholemberg - The Hischar Nisrad has been thrown into disarray after a military force has taken control of the port city of Sholemberg. Local militia leaders got together on the steps of Sholemberg's city hall and declared the 'Free Yeudi State' in front of local press. The same press noticed that outside of the city a large column of vehicles not belonging to any local militia had been involved in the sudden uprising. This convoy had been linked to an earlier incident reported around 6:00 AM this morning near the Pontesi border where Nisrad border guards reported an attempted incursion from a large "mob of refugees" south of the border checkpoint. The actual border checkpoint was then overran by a crowd of people carrying tear gas grenades, who tied up local border guards and blinded them. Released captives describe hearing two dozen vehicles pass the checkpoint. Nasrid representatives have asked their Pontesian colleagues about the incursion, though they have denied all involvement. "The government of Pontesi is unaware of any border crossings at this specific day and night, we are willing to provide a full accounting of all units from our state to the Nisrad if requested," said senior diplomat Zherov Kharenz from the Pontesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The chaos in Sholemberg lasted for about two hours. Militia units in vehicles started shooting at police checkpoints outside the city bounds and near the harbour, meanwhile hidden militias in the city seized hotspots. Local accounts report a bloody fight for the headquarters of the Sholemberg Police Department, which also houses the Quick Response Unit. By all accounts these policemen but up one hell of a fight as the little green men that attacked them took severe losses in securing the offices of Sholemberg's police. By around 9:15 AM anti-Nisrad militias had taken city hall, the harbour administration office, police HQ, and the offices of Sholemberg's primary radio and TV broadcaster. Locals were invited to witness the speech by primary militia leader Commander Oshrat Ben-Ronen on the steps of city hall: "Today we are taking the first step in liberating our homeland. Today we are denying everything the foreigners put in place. Today we are reclaiming our god-given right to self-determination. We are the leaders of the Sholemberg Liberation Front and today we declare the Free Yeudi State."

The Free Yeudi State has declared their right to control all of the former Beiteynuese lands, though for now have also stated their intent to solely control Sholemberg. Insiders have revealed that the mysterious Commander Ben-Ronen has contacted representatives of Tel Bira to discuss future steps. The bankers of the city state have so far not engaged the proposal.

Naval command issued a swift and decisive order for naval forces to immediately engage in an effort to alleviate the chaos in the city's industrial harbors, home to the Neset's beating heart for shipping.

It declined, however, to confirm reports on a couple of ship-to-surface missile launches towards the southwestern outskirts of the city.

Kaliburg, Kalistan - Upon landing on the tarmac, the Foreign Secretary of the City State of Tel Bira greeted journalists by immediately confirming the city's full membership entry to the Kalistani Non-Aligned Movement, following its prior ratification as an observer a couple of years ago.

Tel Bira's "rush" comes as no surprise: civil unrest in Xsampa's supervised DMZ A, the ongoing guard change from Bannerhafen and the tectonic regional changes concerning the 3rd Point Federation, Sholemberg's capture by rebel forces - now largely surmised to be of Pontesian-Yeudi and Jelbic-Yeudi origin or at least funded in part by such groups - all have captured the spotlight of international media.
