"Protect, not censor": Government presents its plan to protect young people after the Satta Scandal
Cantalamessa announces a package of measures to combat moral degeneration and protect the new generations. Francesca Pizzi (UOD) criticized the government harshly, while Trevi (D&L) opened an unexpected dialogue with the latter
.
April 5684
ROMULA - Minister Secretary of State Marina Cantalamessa, as promised since the electoral campaing, presented today a national intervention plan aimed at strengthening the moral and psychological protection of young people, after the Satta Scandal had reignited the national debate on the degeneration of morals and the role of the state in defending civil values.
The new package, which adds to the measures hastily enacted by the previous government, this time focuses on the younger generations: a set of educational, regulatory and prevention policies designed to " protect our children from the most toxic influences of contemporary society", as Cantalamessa stated during a conference at Antinori Palace.
Quote:We don't want a censored society, but a conscious society. Young people must be able to grow up freely, but also protected from content, models and messages that don't respect their age or development. It's the institutions' duty to support them, not leave them alone in a world that wants them to be consumers before citizens.
The program presented by the Government is based on three main pillars, with a progressive approach that aims to integrate schools, families and the media in the education of new generations:
Media and digital awareness education- Introduction, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education and Culture, of a mandatory Digital and Cultural Education curriculum from primary school to high school;
- Creation in the schools of Local Media Literacy Centers where experts, psychologists and sociologists will support families in monitoring exposure to online content;
- Strengthening public awareness campaigns on the impact of social networks and toxic communication models.
Regulation of digital content and protection of minors- Introduction of a mandatory Age Rating System for digital platforms and social networks, with classifications similar to those already in place in the audiovisual sector;
- Creation of a National Register of Content for Minors, which certifies and promotes content deemed educational, sustainable and positive for the psychological development of young people;
- Collaboration with major online platforms to implement Age Verification Systems and limit the most impactful content, without resorting to direct censorship;
- Introduction and promotion of Ethical Communication Standards developed by an interdisciplinary committee of experts in psychology, sociology and pedagogy.
Promotion of a culture of collective responsibility- Funds for artistic and cultural programs that promote positive and responsible role models, through a National Fund for Ethical and Civic Culture;
- Launch of the "Let's Grow Together campaign", which will invite influencers, artists and public figures to make an ethical commitment to young people, as "trusted mentors" for the future generation;
- Incentives for media outlets, production companies and digital platforms that voluntarily adhere to the new responsible communication standards.
Reiterating his government's commitment to the anti-paternalistic principles of the Alliance for Change, Cantalamessa stated:
Quote:Our goal is not to punish, but to educate. We don't want to impose ideological limits, but to create a healthier environment. The state will never dictate what can and cannot be said. But the state must ensure that our children can grow up in safety, with the freedom to become informed adults.
The opposition's reaction was immediate. Francesca Pizzi, leader of the Hosian Democratic Union, harshly criticized the new measures, calling them " yet another decoy for a left that cannot choose between permissiveness and responsibility".
Quote:This government is afraid to reaffirm a clear moral order. Instead of protecting our children, he prefers to remain a prisoner of the libertarian cultural relativism that has made them disillusioned, lost and devoid of values. It's time for the state to return to promoting virtue, not managing decadence.
Words echoed by the patriotic wing of the National Liberal Party, now increasingly distant from a weakened leadership incapable of containing internal pressures.
Antonio Trevi, instead, new leader of Democracy & Freedom, ulthough he expressed openness to some of the government's measures, surprisingly criticized their limited scope:
Quote:Freedom is not absolute if it crushes that of others. Just as democracy defends itself even with measures that may seem restrictive, freedom can also be regulated to protect itself and the most vulnerable.
This stance has surprised many political observers due to what seems a new openness to the Hosian Democratic Union. This is an unexpected move for a leader of D&L, long considered the most liberal and libertarian party in the Istalian political spectrum. Yet, this tactical shift seems driven by the need to recover from the blow of the Satta Scandal and, at the same time, not preclude future agreements with an evolving center-right, currently shifting more toward traditionalist and conservative positions. This maneuver gains weight in a context in which the PNL, engulfed by the same scandal, appears paralyzed and torn by growing internal tensions and the UOD is profiting of this to consolidate this new role of leadership.

L'APPROFONDIMENTO|One, five, twenty, many Istalias: the new mosaic of subregional identities
With a population approaching 168 million, dialects, customs and traditions are becoming increasingly diverse within Istalia's regions, fueling political and academic debate about the country's future territorial structure
CORRIERE D'ISTALIA
SOCIETY AND TERRITORY
July 5684 - International Edition
The Imperial State of Istalia is now approaching a population of almost 168 million, but is also facing a phenomenon as fascinating as complex: the increasing internal ethnocultural variegation of its five major historical regions. These are no longer simply differences between the peninsula and the island, but increasingly pronounced subregional identities are emerging within the same regions, with more distinct local dialects, customs and traditions, and a growing sense of belonging to smaller territorial communities.
The phenomenon began to manifest on the Sarrentina Peninsula, but the signs are increasingly evident on the Island of Alaria as well. The five Italian regions, in fact, have reached demographic dimensions comparable to whole nation-states in the world: Ferano, the most populous, has almost 44 million inhabitants, comparable to nations like Egelion, Barmenia or Tropica, while the least populous one, Silicia, has a population comparable to Badara, Pontesi, Aloria or Rildanor, and even surpasses nations like Davostag, Bianje or Noumonde.
Within these now large regional communities, de facto sub-regions are taking shape, often fueled by heated parochialism. In Ferano, where the phenomenon is most pronounced, the " competition" between Torre d''o Sulento and Castiell 'e Sciorenza is now well-known, two cities both in the southern part of Ferano, not really far each other, but divided by deep-seated linguistic and cultural rivalries that extend in the surrounding two Provinces. After all, Istalia has always been a land of parochialism, where villages separated by even just three kilometers can boast distinct dialects and their own customs. However, today the phenomenon is interesting larger territories within which cities, towns and villages are aggregating around shared local traditions, customs and linguistic charateristics.
In Ferano, linguistic and folkloristic studies have confirmed this trend for several decades. Internal regional differences, especially in terms of human, social and economic characteristics, amplify its impact. Southern Ferano maintains a predominantly agricultural vocation, with an industrial fabric based on small and medium-sized businesses active, among the others, in the luxury, textile and niche automotive sectors. The north, on the other hand, is an industrial and technological powerhouse, populated by highly specialized manufacturing companies, financial giants and export-oriented industries.
This phenomenon now is also affecting the regional politics, where some local representatives are proposing the creation of " Communities of Municipalities" or " Unified Territorial Areas" to more directly represent territories and their local specific interests. Others, instead, suggest strengthening the role of the Provinces, granting them increased administrative powers and forms of functional autonomy that would allow them to interact with the Region and even directly with the central Government representing united the insterests of their communities.
Studies on the phenomenon: a new academic frontier
The topic has attracted growing attention in the scientific and academic world in the last decades. Among the most notable publications, considered as the one that inaugurated the studies on this topic, there is " Dialects and local identities in contemporary Istalia", a comprehensive sociolinguistic study by Professor Lirio Pisco, Professor of Cultural Anthropology at the State University of Burìa and a member of the " National Association for Sociological Research", published in 5677 in the " Rivista Istaliana di Sociologia e Studi Territoriali". Among the several charateristic analyzed, Pisco also highlights how increasing internal mobility has paradoxically strengthened local distinctiveness through processes of identity reappropriation.
Two years later, the popular essay " The hundred voices of Istalia" co-authored by cultural journalist Mara Vescovi and social historian Arturo D'Albini, both collaborators of the " Imperial Institute for Popular Arts and Traditions", achieved great public success. The work, with its quite accessible style, brought the debate into the homes of Istalians, becoming one of the most widely read books of the year 5679.
Finally, the pioneering study by linguist and demographer Professor Emanuele Corsi, " Toward a country of twenty Istalians?", published in the late 5681 in the " Istalian Journal of Demographic and Cultural Studies", hypothesized a future scenario with twenty sociolinguistic sub-regions, highlighting how provincial bundaries are overlaping over the growing infra-regional differences. In his study, Corsi views fragmentation not as a threat, but as a dynamic force, capable of making the country more sensitive to diversity and more ready to understand the complex cultural interactions of the globalized world.
Between supporters and critics: an open debate
Naturally, there is no shortage of critical voices: national language purists fear that growing fragmentation could weaken the national linguistic and cultural cohesion. Some historians, such as Professor Giuliana Rinaldi of the University of Albeta, argue that the real differences remain essentially regional and that subregional variations are more folkloristic than substantive. On the political level, the greatest concerns come from the most intransigent nationalists and patriots, who see this phenomenon as a potential threat to the nation's unity and a weakening of shared imperial sentiment, recalling the unfortunate chapters of Istalian history when internal divisions, fueled by anti-Istalian activity, threatened the unity of the nation.
For now, however, demographic and linguistic evidence seems to refute these concerns. Most of scholars agree that Istalian plurality represents a new richness, an opportunity to better understand themselves and the world. Interviewed by the press on the matter, having become the leading expert of the phenomenon, Professor Pisco recently stated that:
Quote:We are not witnessing the fragmentation of an identity, not at all its demise, but its polycentric expansion. Istalia is not dividing, it’s multiplying.
A phenomenon, therefore, to be followed with curiosity and attention: because it could spark a new awareness of what means being Istalian, both united and diverse, as only a nation with so many souls can be.

A "crusade for freedom" turned into a territorial partition?
Egelion proposal for the future of New Endralon and Kizenia raises questions about self-determination, regional balance and dangerous precedents for international law
Equilibri Globali
A Neapulia based journal of geopolitical studies founded by an independent collective of journalists, professors and international relations experts
Issue 43 - August 5684
With the Kerisian War over and peace negotiations underway, the Kingdom of Egelion has presented a proposal that, according to Altéa's authorities, aims to "restore stability and order" in the territories of New Edralon and Kizenia. However, the complex Egelian plan, which calls for the restoration of the monarchy, the personal union of the two thrones, Egelion's annexation of Zyldavia, and the creation of two free cities under military guarantee and international observation, has sparked mixed feelings among the international community and, above all, a strongly critical reaction from the government of Kalistan.
"Peace" according to Altéa
In Egelion's proposal, the reconstruction of New Edralon and Kizenia would be governed by an enlightened monarchy, legitimized by the lineage of House Montalivet-Sildavia and linked in personal union with Altéa. This proposal, defined by Mondragon II as "enlightened absolutism", is designed to prevent the return of the "evil" that would have corrupted the New Endralonian and Kizenian institutions, leading them to conflict, according to official Egelian rhetoric.
Egelion, therefore, presents itself as a guarantor of stability, temporarily administering a significant portion of the territory, ensuring that the country's transition occurs "without extremist tendencies or democratic degeneration".
This, however, is a highly paternalistic vision of international relations, according to which a nation's sovereignty is subordinated to the judgment and supervision of an external power. This is the concern expressed by the Chancellor of the Ananto Empire, Lady Ericka Donahue, who described the plan as "a partition disguised as a peace agreement".
Kalistan's voice: between idealism and realpolitik
Kalistan, which had supported the intervention in the country and joined the joint effort to overthrow the military junta, declares itself "betrayed" by Egelion's proposal. Donahue's words leave no room for interpretation:
Kalistan did not enter the war to legitimize a massive territorial annexation or a de facto protectorate, since the goal was to restore a legitimate and independent government in Kizenia and not to witness a partition of the country.
Kalistan's position is based on two principles: first, the need to preserve the independence and integrity of Kizenia, considered vital to the stability of the entire Anantonian area, and second, the protection of the Anantonese interests passing through the defense of the free cities of Luncasi and Deltabor, currently under the administration of Kaliburg authorities and where, Domahue stated, democratic governments, functioning infrastructure, and social peace already exist. The Egelian desire to opt for direct or indirect administration by Altéa, the Chancellor has consistently stated, "is not only unjustified, but potentially destabilizing".
Therefore, the rift is evident: Kalistan denounces that the Egelian plan is not a pacification project at all, but an attempt to expand its sphere of influence, where local aspirations and neighbouring geopolitical interests are subordinated to and undermined by Altéa's geopolitical ambitions. And in this context, the risk of escalation appears far from remote.
The People’s will, the great unknown: who truly represents New Endralon and Kizenia?
One of the most pressing and least addressed questions in the negotiations concerns the will of the populations involved. Have the citizens of NEK been asked what future they desire? Do they willingly accept the prospect of a monarchical restoration, or of living in semi-autonomous city-states under foreign control or tutelage? But not only that: does the population of NEK approve of Nadiya sponsored "socialist-like experiments" by a local government heavily backed by Nadiya itself, which, while claiming to want to restore sovereignty, appears to actually occupy those areas?
There are no simple answers or solutions, but the risks are clear: excluding popular and local interests from the decision-making process could set a serious precedent. There is a risk of embracing the logic according to which peace is imposed from above, with the resulting legitimization of practices that undermine key principles that have governed international law for millennia, such as the rejection of violent territorial expansionism and the principle of self-determination of peoples.
This risks paving the way for the legitimization of violence, of war, as a means of territorial conquest, where force and political prestige prevail over consensus and participation, all perhaps disguised under terms like "peacekeeping mission" or "special peacekeeping operation."
International law and new precedents
From a legal perspective, therefore, the situation in NEK risks representing a potential break with international law established over many centuries, shaped by struggles and claims, but also by numerous, often bloody, wars. If the powers involved in this peace process were to define the new borders and institutional structures without a process of internal consultation or impartial international supervision, they would risk sanctioning a return to the legitimacy of territorial conquest by occupation, through wars but also through various military operations or missions. This is a principle that international diplomacy, since ancient times, had relegated to the past.
The comparison with Amudim: a clearly different case
At this point, some might object to the thesis presented in the previous paragraph, recalling the precedent of Amudim, the former state of Beiteynu, fragmented into various state entities, with large portions then integrated under the sovereignty of various foreign nations, such as the Triad Republic or Xsampa. However, this comparison is misleading and intellectually dishonest.
The disintegration of Amudim was, in fact, an endogenous process, stemming from the crisis of central power and the collapse of the legitimacy of the Yishelem government, accused of systematic abuses and the cause of the domestic and international crisis that was engulfing the country at the time. The subsequent accession of some areas to the Dual Republic of Narikaton & Darnussia occurred through agreements supported by historical ties developed between the two nations, while the recent negotiations in Shar-Mearvi saw the participation of representatives of local authorities and the new political entities involved. It was, therefore, not an occupation or partition imposed by external powers, but what seemed a consensual process of reorganization, devoid of armed conflict and widely accepted for years by the populations involved. The current "nationalist" fringes wreaking havoc on Amudim today, appear, according to unconfirmed rumors, to be fueled by external pressure rather than by genuine internal claims.
Nevertheless, history should teach us that communities with strong cultural and national identities are reluctant to accept the imposition, whether forced or not, of external sovereignty. Therefore, NEK also risks becoming a zone of dangerous ethno-nationalistic tensions in the long term.
Conclusions: a fragile balance
Peace in Keri, for now, still seems far from a shared agreement. The Egelian plan, according to many analysts, appears like an attempt to expand political and military influence in the region disguised as an institutional reconstruction project.
And there is a real risk that the entire geopolitical balance of the Anantonese area will fall into a deterioration in relations between northern Seleya and Keris, with direct repercussions on international trade, maritime security, and, first of all of course, the geopolitical stability of the entire area, which could even lead to an arms race along the coasts of the Anantonese Ocean.
In conclusion, a disturbing question arises: do we really want to accept that the sovereignty and fate of entire nations are decided in the gilded halls of power, far from the voices of the people who live there? If this is the answer, what is at stake here is not only the future of New Endralon and Kizenia, but the entire framework of international law and coexistence that has thus far guaranteed for millennia, despite its limitations, a fragile but important global balance among Terra's nations.

Istalian Government on Keris's post-war peace: "NEK deserves a just and shared peace"
Romula also joins the international call for a resolution that respects the sovereignty of NEK and of its citizens, respecting the principles on which international law have been founded for centuries
Luciano Pardi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations
.
April 5685
ROMULA - This morning, before the press gathered at Livori Palace, headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government of the Imperial State of Istalia, through Minister Pardi, officially took a position regarding the peace process started following the conclusion of the Keris War, a conflict that has profoundly shook the continent's geopolitical balance and international relations.
Now that the Northterra Conference is underway, the Istalian Government has expressed " deep concern about some of the proposals put on the table", which several Terran governments have deemed as lead by " potentially expansionist and hegemonic goals", particularly the proposals came from Egelion, although criticism has also been directed at Nadiya, two of the main powers involved in the conflict.
The Government emphasized that the peace treaty proposals put forward by Egelion in the very aftermath of the conflict, already strongly contested by Kalistan, Egelion and Nadiya's ally in fighting the dictatorship of the military junta in NEK, risk compromising the stability of the region and reducing New Endralon and Kizenia to " a semi-autonomous territorial entity, devoid of real sovereignty and subordinate to the decisions of neighboring powers".
The Minister emphasized with particular emphasis that:
Quote:Any peace process must be based on the consensus of the peoples directly involved. Any attempt to impose solutions from above that fail to take into account the principle of self-determination, and therefore the will of the people of New Endralon and Kizenia, would be a mistake, both politically and morally, and a serious precedent destined to undermine the durability of the agreements and the very foundations of international law, as established by millennia-long geopolitical interactions and relations since the beginning of the contemporary era between the late 21st and early 22nd centuries.
The Istalian statement, like those of several other governments on Earth, also echoes the analyses recently published in the geopolitical journal " Equilibri Globali", which, in yet another worldwide widely discussed article, which further consolidates its authority at an international level, highlighted the critical issues of the ongoing negotiation process and the risks of a new, highly unbalanced order on the continent.
Minister Pardi, citing the article, stated:
Quote:The reflections expressed in the recent Equilibri Globali's article, mentioned by several governments and media worldwide, appear to reflect a widespread sentiment, not only among experts and the political class, but also among ordinary citizens, in Istalia as well as abroad. This demonstrates how closely the post-Keris peace process is being monitored and how its implications can influence international consensus and the right of nations to exist in security.
At the end of the press conference, the Minister appealed to the responsibility of all parties involved in the negotiations, calling for " a balanced and sustainable peace that does not sacrifice the interests of New Endralon and Kizenia and its population on the altar of geopolitical ambitions and political expediency":
Quote:Istalia calls on the victorious powers to consider not their own political and geostrategic interests but, and above all, the future of the stability region and the will of the people of New Endralon and Kizenia, who must, and it's imperative, be not only involved, but a key player in the decisions that will be made at the ongoing Norterra Conference.
By adopting this official position, Istalia aligns itself with the concerns expressed by numerous governments and international organizations, reaffirming its historic diplomatic vocation and its deeply felt commitment to stability and established international law.

The Crown celebrates the birth of Grand Princess Michela
As the family grows, the Princess of the Crown Eleonora and Duke Marco continue to bring honour and grace to the Imperial Institution embodying the finest spirit of Istalia
.
June 5685
ROMULA - The Imperial House expands and rejoices by welcoming Grand Princess Michela, the fourth child of Grand Princess of the Crown Eleonora and her husband, Prince Marco, Duke of Capranica Saliana. The happy news was released this morning by Quattroregni Palace, which announced that mother and daughter are well and both enjoying excellent health. Little Michela thus joins an already large family, and her siblings Nicola (11), Giorgia (9) and Sofia (3) are eager to embrace her.
Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress were the first to join their daughter, grandparents eager to welcome their new granddaughter, already surrounded by her father and siblings. The Princess of the Crown's siblings and their families then arrived, crowding the hospital pavilion and giving photographers and journalists the opportunity to capture a large portion of the Court gathered for the occasion.
Beloved by the Istalians, united and cheerful, the hereditary couple, over the years, has earned the affection and respect of the population not only for the image they have projected of the imperial institution, but also for their profound commitment to social, cultural and philanthropic causes. The Household of the Grand Princess of the Crown has, over time, become a focal point for the country's public and charitable life. Eleonora and Marco have promoted numerous initiatives in support of art, culture, industry and national crafts, as well as humanitarian and social causes.
Several funds and foundations were established under their patronage: projects dedicated to medical research, the valorization of Istalia's historical and artistic heritage, assistance for women and children in need, and the promotion of the country's food and wine excellence. These activities consolidated the couple's image as the embodiment of a monarchy close to the people and involved in the country's social and economic life.
Eleonora and Marco's commitment was crucial to the image of the Crown, which was rocked by the Satta Scandal. The events of the affair, which had led to the dismissal and " exile" of the Emperor's brother, the former Grand Prince Nicola, were countered by the image of the Crown created by the hereditary couple, who further intensified their public and social presence, becoming the face of the Istalian monarchy's " redemption". Thanks to the commitment and reputation of the Princess of the Crown and the Duke of Capranica Saliana, the prestige and credibility of the Imperial House have been defended and restored, confirming and reconsolidating its role as the moral and cultural leader of the country.
Furthermore, for several years now, the hereditary couple have also dedicated themselves to restoring the credibility, honorability and reputation not only of the Crown, but also of the country and its political, social, cultural and economic leadership. This is achieved through the organization of parties and receptions, often for charitable purposes, both at the Imperial Residence of Villa Sironi-Talliani, the residence of the Heir to the Throne, and at other Imperial and family residences. These events have become fixtures in Istalian social life, combining elegance, conviviality and civic engagement, and presenting themselves as a refined and dignified alternative to the unbridled pomp of the parties of a certain social and political " aristocracy" which, among other things, served as the scandalous backdrop to the events of the Satta Scandal.
Emblematic of this was the Grand Carnival Ball held last fall at the Hunting Residence of Terracche Lakes, a sumptuous and grandiose event in 18th and 19th-century style, attended by nearly all of the country's gotha. It also served as a prestigious showcase for the excellence of Istalian fashion, art, cuisine and craftsmanship, including dresses, hats, and jewelry, as well as dance groups, bands and singers. And then, fireworks displays, decorations, and special effects, including lasers and holograms, and, of course, seasonal dishes inspired by the country's regions and territories, were also a hit. Among the most popular dishes was the "frappe", or "chiacchiere", and the "castagnole", delicious traditional Carnival pastries popular in many parts of the country.
The Emperor, first and foremost, supported and gave ample space to his daughter and her family, who were involved in numerous official Crown and State events throughout the country. Experts, observers and enthusiasts also noted a renewed image boost in the Imperial couple. The Crown increased solemnity and grandeur during ceremonies, with the Emperor often attired in elaborate vestments and mantles, conveying a proud, solemn, even sacred, image of the Institution.
Alongside him, to his wife, Empress Melissa, was given a particularly prominent role. Her popularity has never waned over the years, remaining one of the most beloved members of the Imperial House, thus renewing the image of a couple who, despite the years, remain united and close-knit.
But, according to most analysts and observers, the monarchical vision imprinted on his reign by Emperor Tommaso V has also contributed to shielding the Crown from the upheavals of recent years: an approach that has give a strong authority and a voice to the Crown, never reluctant to make itself heard, especially and tirelessly, in supporting the democratically chosen governments and defending national pride.
Has the storm of scandal overwhelmed and shaken the Crown? Yes, without a doubt. Has the Crown resisted? Has it withstood the blow? Once again, yes and without a doubt. The Crown has reacted, reinvigorated in its commitment not only on an institutional and political level, but also on a moral and social level, and in representing at its best and with due splendor the truest, most genuine, noble and upright values that have given lustre to the country.

New chapter in Istalian-Deltarian relations: Romula and Čachtice launch intelligence cooperation
The cooperation represents a further step forward in the alignment between Istalia and Deltaria: from SOMECO to common security, the interests of the two countries converge amid growing instability in Western Majatra
.
September 5680
ROMULA - With rising tensions and instability in Western Majatra, Istalia and Deltaria have taken a further step toward deeper collaboration, announcing the beginning of structured cooperation between their respective intelligence services. The news, confirmed by government sources in Romula and Čachtice, represents a further sign of the increasingly marked rapprochement between the two countries, already linked by a renewed diplomatic, economic and commercial partnership.
For several years, interests of both Istalia and Deltaria gradually converged, culminating in Istalia's membership in the SOMECO. Intense and collaborative work between the two Governments has reinvigorated the organization, which is now experiencing a new phase of growth and dynamism, with new proposal for further coordination and integration on the table of the SOMECO Council, and new treaties and agreements established with major nations and economic areas. Today, Romula and Čachtice appear to have taken a further step, moving toward true strategic synergy. Collaboration between intelligence services, with consequent information sharing, represents the first step in this process, aimed at ensuring greater security and stability in a region experiencing growing instability.
Through this collaboration, Čachtice government will also pursue the stated need for the new, democratic, post-Slavko's regime, Deltaria to strengthen and modernize its security structures, after decades of political and economic isolation. In this phase of rapid national recovery and restructuring, the experience and solidity of the Istalian system can serve as a model and provide crucial technical support for the Deltaria.
Interviewed by the press, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Luciano Pardi, stated:
Quote:The Istalian Government is highly satisfied and confident about this initiative, that not only strengthens bilateral cooperation but also takes on profound symbolic and historical significance.
Pardi underscored the significance of this cooperation, recalling the long and often troubled history of relations between Istalia and Deltaria:
Quote:For centuries, on countless occasions, Deltaria has been among Istalia's most staunch opponents, even before Istalia was born as such. When the country was still known as the Union of Quanzari Soviets, it was Deltaria that the country faced in its first significative conflict of the contemporary era. It is therefore a source of pride and hope to see our two nations working side by side today for the security and prosperity of Majatra.
Several experts and observers have already seen similarities with the famous " Temrkai-Votta Pact", which centuries ago (44th century) led to unprecedented cooperation between Istalia and Vanuku, ensuring a long period of stability and growth for the entire continent. They now hypothesize and perhaps glimpse the possibility of a new era of prosperity on the horizon, one that, given the situation in Western Majatra, is for the moment expected to take shape mainly across central and eastern Majatra. Even then, it was a pragmatic approach, supported and encouraged by a shared vision, which turned an ancient rivalry into a long-lasting alliance. Today, Romula and Čachtice appear to be embarking on a similar path, founded on growing mutual trust and shared interests and goals.
The increasingly close understanding between Deltaria and Istalia clearly represents a maturing phase in diplomacy of the two countries. Both aware of global and regional challenges, Romula and Čachtice appear to be overcoming historical mistrust in the name of the common good: the stability and prosperity of the Majatran region.
Following the success of economic cooperation, collaboration now appears to be gradually converging on security, defense and foreign policy, consolidating an increasingly important axis in the continental and global geopolitical landscape.

Migration Policy Reform: Toward an Open and Integrated System with SOMECO
The new legislative framework aims to achieve greater openness and conform to the future rules of the continental economic organization, but nationalists and conservatives are attacking
.
November 5685
ROMULA - Yesterday afternoon, the Imperial State Council approved the most far-reaching migration policy reform in decades, marking a turning point in Istalia's approach to the international mobility of people and workers. The reform, inspired by proposals put forward by Romula to the SOMECO Council, aims to immediately adapt national legislation to the future regulatory framework of the continental economic organization, promoting the free movement of talent, academic cooperation and greater collaboration in labor markets.
The reform follows the path outlined by the Moccia governments, which had already begun a progressive simplification of entry procedures. The new text further eases controls and requirements for obtaining study and work visas, among other things. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Luciano Pardi, has clarified that, once the Istalian proposals are approved at SOMECO, study and work visas will no longer be required for citizens of the organization's member states, with a view to increasing mobility and increasingly integrated markets.
Regarding tourist visas, the reform calls for the launch of a joint assessment with the governments of the nations of Terra with which the country has established the closest relations, to identify the countries for which the need for visas will be eliminated in favor of free or simplified access, based on security criteria and diplomatic reciprocity.
The reaction to the reform from the nationalist and conservative opposition was immediate, accusing the government of dismantling the country's entire immigration control apparatus. The leader of the Hosian Democratic Union, Francesca Pizzi, described the measure as follows:
Quote:This is a historic mistake, which opens the door to enormous risks for national security, for the stalemate of our culture and society, and therefore to unfair competition for Istalian workers.
According to Pizzi, the relaxation of entry requirements and the prospect of eliminating visas for numerous non-SOMECO countries represent " a total surrender to uncontrolled globalization and the toxicity of cultural relativism".
On the National Liberal Party front, the situation appears more complex. The patriotic wing, led by Fulvio Paglini, is fiercely opposing the reform, gaining ground against a central leadership accused of being weak and anonymous, of having lost sight of the party's values, which should return to drawing inspiration from Floria Monaldi's Patriotic Front, and of deliberately keeping its feet in too many " stirrups", of failing to monitor the moral conduct of its members and of causing its electoral decline.
The moderate, liberal and progressive currents within the PNL, however, are proving equally intolerant of the patriotic wing and are rejecting the accusations, accusing indeed Paglini of undermining the party's unity by championing values they see as inconsistent with the party's established tradition. They point out that even during the time of Floria Monaldi, the more traditionalist and righists positions were rejected, citing the brief and unsatisfactory history of the Istalian Phalange party, a nationalistic and patriotic group from the dawn of the Imperial State that survived only a few years.
And the moderate currents within the PNL make no secret of their support for the reform, citing openings already happened during the tenure of Minister Secretary Valeriano Giunio, believing that less strict migration policies and collaboration within the SOMECO on the matter can foster the country's economic growth and social dynamism. They accuse Paglini and his followers of aspiring to isolationism, hostility toward international stage, unacceptable cultural and social intolerance and thus sterile and impoverishing autarchic illusions.
The debate has thus further accentuated the fracture lines that have been widening within the opposition, with a UOD increasingly cohesive on traditionalist positions and a PNL divided ideologically and also in terms of alliances. The PNL patriotic wing is now firmly positioned alongside the UOD, while the rest of the party remains close to Democracy & Freedom, with which it shares economic, social and, in this case, also migration positions, expressing decidedly more internationalist stances.
In any case, for the Government the reform represents a further decisive step towards regional integration and the modernisation of the migration system: a model that aims to combine security, efficiency and openness, in the wake of an Istalia projected towards a further involvement within the SOMECO.

Economic and Trade agreement between Istalia and Kundrati restored
Given the stability achieved in the artanian country and Kasaema's renewed diplomatic impetus, Istalia believes the time is ripe to normalize relations and update the agreement in line with SOMECO framework
.
March 5686
ROMULA - After years of operational freeze, due to the political instability and internal tensions affecting at the time a recently liberated Kundrati, emerging from the tragedy of the Legionary regime, the economic and trade agreement signed by Romula and Kasaema at the very dawn of that fragile democracy has been officially reactivated. The decision, announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, marks a significant step in the normalization of bilateral relations and paves the way for a new phase of cooperation between the two economies.
According to government sources, the stabilization of Kundrati's political and institutional framework and the consolidation of its democratic institutions were viewed by the Istalian government as encouraging signs indicating that the time was ripe for a thaw in the bilateral agreement.
Meeting the press, Foreign Minister Luciano Pardi stated:
Quote:The return to full reactivation of the agreement represents a step of confidence in a partner that has overcome a critical and complex phase, strengthening its democratic structure and economic viability.
The government was able to interact very openly and freely with both the government and the opposition political forces, and we also met with representatives of Kundrati's business community.
Istalia has been positively impressed by what we believe to be signs of a progressive and beneficial political stabilization, which further encourages us to resume and grow relations with Kasaema.
With the reactivation of the treaty, Kundrati markets will once again be accessible to Istalian operators, opening up significant opportunities for trade and foreign direct investment. During recent technical negotiations, delegations from the two countries extensively discussed the strategic sectors in which the Istalian economy is poised to strengthen its presence: from mining to financial intermediation, to sectors with high growth potential such as the entertainment and cultural media industries.
The Istalian government has also announced that discussions will soon begin to revise the agreement with the aim of harmonizing its provisions with the SOMECO regulatory and diplomatic framework. This operation is clearly part of the broader economic integration plan jointly promoted by Istalia and Deltaria, which aims to foster a progressive convergence of of the economic interests of the two countries within the framework of SOMECO.
To mark the full resumption of economic and trade relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a state visit to Kundrati by His Majesty the Emperor and the Minister-Secretary of State is being organized with the Crown. Tommaso V would thus become the second Istalian monarch to officially visit the artanian country, 53 years after the visit of his father, Alessandro V, who traveled to Jildrati City to meet and support the Black President, then leader of the Union of Kundrati, confined to the island of Etxea, and who staunchly resisted and opposed the totalitarian legionary regime that dominated the mainland.

L’APPROFONDIMENTO|The new Nobility of the Imperial State: between memory, duty and innovation
A reportage on the Istalian aristocratic families that came back with the Imperial Restoration: a civic and productive nobility, heir to the tradition of the Third Empire, through sustainable estates, philanthropy and patriotic spirit
CORRIERE D’ISTALIA
CULTURE AND SOCIETY
April 5686 - International Edition
Far from the political spotlight and the clamor of public life, the Itsalian nobility today represents a discreet yet vital reality, both in the social and economic fabric of the country. Its rebirth after the Imperial Restoration was slow and selective, a process far from automatic, conducted prudently by the Crown, assisted by an ad hoc commission created by the Government and Parliament. The Crown and the commission, aimed to reexamine the legitimacy and historical significance of past aristocratic titles, recognized only those titles that, in the national memory, represented authentic historical, patriotic or moral value, symbols of excellence and of services rendered to the Nation and the Crown. This work, which has lasted for years and indeed is still ongoing, has led to the restoration of a small number of " historic" titles, attributed to families whose history was closely intertwined with the great events of the Empire.
Among these few but illustrious restored titles, some certainly stand out more than others. The title of Prince of Castronovu was reconfirmed to the Corlione family, descendants of Michele Corlione, the first Prime Minister of the Third Empire. A man of exceptional temperance and vision, he led the patriots during the long process of restoration and reunification of Istalia under the Istalian Union of Quanzar and Alaria and was the first architect of the Restoration of the Third Empire. Thanks to the work of the family, Castronovu has remained a monarchical stronghold and a center of national memory to this day, where the family has preserved archives and documents essential to Istalian historiography.
Another important title is that of Prince of Argigento, awarded to the Appiano-D'Angelo family, a collateral branch of the Imperial House of Appiano De Borromei, descended from Michele II, Emperor of the First Empire, through his son, Grand Prince Adriano, younger brother of Emperor Tommaso II. The Appiano-D'Angelo family, originally from northern Silicia, kept the dynastic memory alive for centuries, even during the Republican era, later distinguishing themselves during the Great Patriotic War of Liberation for their military commitment and philanthropy.
Among the Dukes, the Valenti-Morgantini family stands out, having been restored to the title of Duke of Albeta. They are the descendants of Damiano Valenti, the first Duke of Ulbia (as the city of Albeta was then called) and first Prime Minister of the First Empire, the true architect of the Imperial Reform that elevated the Appiano De Borromei family to the Istalian throne for the first time. Today, the family manages one of the most renowned cultural foundations dedicated to the country's constitutional history.
The title of Duke of Sàxera has returned to the Monaldi family, with the elevation of the late Floria Monaldi to Duchess following the restoration of the title, which was created for her illustrious ancestor Eros Monaldi, the longest-serving Prime Minister of the Third Empire. Under his rule, Istalia experienced a whole era of stability, modernization and Istalian centrality in Majatra and the world.
The Tuscolo-Sarjani family was reinstated with the title of Duke of Bagheria, in memory of Ahmed Sarjani, the patriot who led the nationalist resurgence under the Union of Quanzar and Alaria and attempted the first, unfortunate restoration of the throne, a prelude to the short-lived Second Empire, abolished after only six years. The family, today engaged in academic and philanthropic activities, keeps alive the intercultural and patriotic traditions that characterized Sarjani himself.
The title of Duke of Vico was reconfirmed to the Brunori della Scala-Adinolfi-Salusso family, descendants of Giovanni Maria Brunori della Scala, the istalian nationalist leader that reaorganized and lead the resurgence of the Istalian nationalism after the establishment of the Union of Quanzar and Alaria. It was the mentor of Ahmed Sarjani and was the one who set in motion the long march of the Istalians towards the First and Second Restoration. It's a successful family active in business in Istalia and abroad through several owned companies and foundations.
Among the marquisate titles, that of Marquis of Savarese was awarded to the Nunziati De Cascioni family, heirs of the Princes Caiola of Taranda, descendants of the legendary Giotto Caiola, partisan commander and leader of the Anti-Thallerist Resistance, alongside Michele Appiano De Borromei, later the first Emperor of the Istalians, who was President of Istalia during the provisional government that preceded the creation of the Fifth Republic. Their Savarese estate is today a model of rural innovation and a center for youth agricultural training.
Next comes the Count of Vetrana, a title granted to the Scialanca family, whose history dates back to the very origins of the Empire: the title was granted to Stefano Scialanca, son of Lieutenant Colonel Giuseppe Scialanca, right-hand man of Michele Appiano De Borromei, who died heroically in the war against the Thallerist Revolution defending the life of the future First Emperor, thus earning a place in the national memory. Finally, the title of Viscount of Borgo Abbatino was restored to the Eldiori family, descendants of Salvatore Eldiori, a patriot under the Istalian Union of Quanzar and Alaria, who was killed during the civil unrest that charatterized the first years of that period and whose family committed itself for years to the cause, politically, through activism and also financially.
Many other families have petitioned the Crown for the restoration of their ancient titles, particularly those granted during the Third Empire. However, most of these petitions remain under careful review or have been already rejected, as the Crown has chosen to proceed with exceptional caution. Each case has been evaluated in light of the historical record and conduct of the former noble families, their commitment to the nation and the community, as well as the original reasons that once justified their elevation to nobility. Equal importance has been given to the loyalty and service demonstrated by their descendants during the republican eras and throughout the Patriotic War of Liberation.
Families whose petitions were ultimately denied have nonetheless often been granted the lesser titles of Baron or Imperial Patrician, as a mark of respect for their lineage and for their contributions to the Fatherland.
Like the nobility of the Third Empire, that of the current Imperial State also maintains a deep civic and productive approach dictated by the will of the Crown. In Istalia, in fact, which for most of its contemporary history has been a republic, the nobility never held political roles, and the titles granted by the Istalian Emperors did not derive from medieval or feudal traditions, but rather from civil, military and patriotic merits.
The nobles of the Imperial State, like their predecessors under the Third Empire, were called upon to manage the estates entrusted to them productively and beneficially, thus making them true territorial institutions, which remain in perpetuity always and in any case under the Crown Demesne, created with the restoration alongside the much more extensive State Demesne, merging vast areas of land confiscated from the authorities of the Socialist Republic and the puppet states on the Peninsula, lands left without owners or abandoned during the Patriotic War, territories of the public demesne that had degraded, etc... precisely with the aim of reviving them and making them productive through the commitment of the Crown, which therefore co-opted the nobility in this commitment.
These estates, scattered throughout the Istalian countryside, today represent models of sustainable rural development, with excellent agricultural production, quality food supply chains and a growing commitment to the energy transition. Thanks to the collaboration between the Crown, the government, financial institutions and businesses, many of them have hosted countless pilot projects involving the circular economy, biogas plants, sustainable and innovative livestock and crops farms, that integrate agricultural production, renewable energy and respect for ecosystems. Some of the most renowned brands of the Istalian food and wine sector and organic products originate from these properties.
This entrepreneurial and innovative commitment required to the nobles also serves their further duty to support local communities through cultural, philanthropic and educational activities, but also through, more simply, the creation of jobs related to agricultural production and local tourism, given that many of these estates were created around ancient villages, fortresses and late patrician villas and palaces, thus enhancing their historical and artistic heritage.
Indeed, many families reinvest the proceeds of their economic activities in foundations for the protection of artistic heritage, scholarships and programs supporting traditional crafts, thus contributing to the cohesion and prosperity of local communities, supported by a dedicated fiscality created to promote such initiatives and activities. Furthermore, recently, noble houses and estates, in cooperation with local financial institutions, have committed to supporting various entrepreneurial initiatives in the communities surrounding their estates, not only through loans but also, more importantly, by acting as guarantors for new businesses. To this end, the Crown itself has created a special fund to assist the nobility in this commitment.
As the Emperor has repeatedly emphasized, including at a recent reception held at Quattroregni Palace:
Quote:A noble title in Istalia is not only a privilege, but a responsibility, a commitment that must reflect the moral responsibility of those who receive such a privilege from the Crown and must return it in value to the community.
There is, however, one trait that distinguishes the nobility of the Imperial State from the aristocracy of the past: its close ties to the Armed Forces. Indeed, many scions of titled families, especially those created after the last Restoration, choose the military as their career path, to honor the memory of their fathers and grandfathers who fought in the Great Patriotic War of Liberation, as well as as a reflection of and a testament to the close bond between the Crown itself, the source of noble privileges, and the Armed Forces, a bond that has existed since the beginning of the Imperial epoope and has strengthened with each restoration.
A modern " nobility of the sword”, one could say, loyal to the Crown but immersed in the life of the country, where prestige is no longer measured by income or honorary titles, but by commitment, service and dedication to the Fatherland and the common good.
In an Empire that looks to the future, the Istalian nobility is reaffirming its place: not as a symbol of distant and detached privilege, but as a living legacy to historical memory and duty to the homeland.
An aristocrat of the new generation, who asked to remain anonymous, sums up the meaning of this rebirth in this way:
Quote:We are not here to preserve a name, but to earn every day the trust the Crown has placed in our families. Nobility today cannot simply be inherited, it must constantly be demonstrated. This commitment clearly distinguishes, today as in the past, the Istalian nobility from the traditional, often decadent, aristocracies of much older kingdoms and empires.
And this has been the essence of Istalian nobility since the very beginning of Imperial history, a nobility that looks forward, aware that true honor is not merely engraved on a coat of arms, but is above all written in service to the country and loyalty to its ideals.
