3PF dissolution: Luthori re-affirms committment to security in Migrants' Pass and alliance with Narikaton and Darnussia.
May 5689
In the wake of the sudden dissolution of the 3rd Point Federation, following Narikaton and Darnussia's disengagement agreement with the Yeudi rebels reorganised into a provisional government, many wondered if the "Final Alliance" agreement, signed 9 years ago by the Parker-Stanford administration was tied to the developments for the peaceful resolution of the "Yeudi Emergency", as called in Luthori.
Many pointed out that the signature of the final alliance came following Luthori's ratification of the Migrants Accords, making it officially part of the 3rd Point Federation, the main defence deterrent against instability in the Migrants' Pass. The pass, which remains to this day, a critical passage for West and East commercial activilites has been the subject of great worry with the dissolution of its most famed deterrent and security guarantor.
The Fort William Stock Exchange, for its part, reacted with mixed signals to the signature of the "Containment Deal", with observers welcoming the Triad Republic's committment to stability through the signature of the agreemrnt, but others expressing worry at the sudden dissolution of the 3rd Point Federation.
The Luthorian government has, on the contrary of reactions coming out of the City of Fort William, welcomed the peace agreement as a "positive development" for peace and stability in the region.
For a Foreign office spokesperson, the accusations that the alliance with Narikaton and Darnussia could be threatened by the termination of the Migrants Accords are "baseless" and "senseless".
The foreign secretary also addressed these allegations, stating that the Luthorian Empire entered a expanded military partnership with the Triad Republic without even considering the Migrants Accords as a "precondition" for the continuation of the association between the two states.
"Luthori entered the Migrants Accords and an alliance with Narikaton and Darnussia at two separate occasions. With the Migrants Accords now defunct, some are doubting Luthori's committment to her alliance with Bannerhafen. Let me tell you this. His Majesty's government remains steadfast in its engagement in the partnership with the Triad Republic and will stand by its side.", said the Foreign secretary.
In relations to the agreement signed by the Triad with the interim administration in Yishelem and with Wiel's mediation, the Luthorian government stated that it would "remain on the sidelines of the peacemaking movement", but fully "trusts" the Triad Republic with its role in the peacemaking agreement. In his remarks, the Foreign secretary stated that Luthori would "back" N&D in matters related to Amudim.
Furthermore, the Foreign secretary stated that "even if the Migrants Accords are defunct, that doesn't mean that Luthori will just abandon the Migrants' Pass, far from it, we'll work in a joint effort with our allies and other partners in the region to continue stabilising the area from potential instability in the area, primarily the Triad Republic as we current have a high level of collaboration through our strategic alliance."

Narikaton and Darnussia
To: Our most trusted Partners
From: The Office of the President of the Triad Republic of Narikaton, Darnussia and Himmelshtern.
“We’d like to invite the receiver of this nation, as a professional and trusted partner in all affairs of Trade, to join the newly created Migrants Pass Society.
The Triad is committed to equally share the civilizational responsibilities of keeping the flow of trade free and secure from hindrances. Past governments of the nations whose waters share a border with the international waters of the Pass have made mistakes in maintaining the security of the body of water by allowing paranoia and power fantasies to run wild.
Hence our current government has decided to work with together with everyone for a better and safer Pass, the MPS is the product of this decision, a decentralized coordinative project to ensure the responsible usage of these waters for future generations.
Most Sincerely,
President of the Triad Republic of Narikaton, Darnussia and Himmelshtern, Karl-Heinz Sztermann”

Pan-Dundorfian relations "absolutely necessary" for Luthori, says Harper as he hints at Dundorf visit.
November 5689
Luthori's foreign secretary, Davy Harper, after successful engagements with other world officials during his previous visits in Egelion and Kalistan, where, in the former, was able to sign off the Luthori-Egelian trade deal which is already considered as a net positive for the Luthorians as it drive more foreign investments and allow for a higher supply of raw materials to fuel Luthorian industry, announced that he would visit Dundorf in order to "reinforce" ties with Dundorf.
For the Luthorian foreign secretary, the visit was a long-planned one, according to documents leaked from the Foreign Office, negotiations on a potential renewed and renegotiated trade agreement with the Dundorfians were organised ever since the signature of a similar trade agreement with Kundrati back in 5688, through the Luthorian Embassy in Dunburg.
Mr. Harper praised the "diligence" and "effectiveness" of the Luthorian diplomatic service, citing their works in Egelion, Kalistan, Kundrati as examples of their efficacy.
The foreign minister stated that, in his mind, Luthori's relationship with the other Dundorfian-speaking states in Artania was "paramount". Luthori's foreign policy in Artania usually focused on expanding relations and trust between the Empire and these states.
"Any Artanian-wide collaboration program that worked in the past was born out of pan-Dundorfian and Luthorians working together to make it work. Both worlds [Luthorian & Dundorfian] represents an non-negligeable part of Artania's population, economic strength, military power and so, the idea that both worlds can't work together due to past history is an idiocy on my part.", said the Foreign secretary to defend his policy of working with other pan-Dundorfian states, such as Dorvik, Dundorf and the Triad Republic.
For the Triad, the statement wasn't remade again, as Luthori already reaffirmed its committment to their alliance earlier this year and ratified the new Migrants Accords in August. For Dundorf, Luthori already shares an cultural and education collaboration program ever since 5658 and today, the Foreign Office aims to amplify the economic cooperation between the two states. Finally, there is Dorvik, with whom Luthori already engaged in repairing its relations with through numerous economic measures.
Foreign Secretary Harper continues to stress about the importance of "continuing the way" he and his predecessors engaged with foreign policy, especially as the rumours about the incoming resignation of the Prime Minister are only growing.

Emperor says that his "greatest hope" is bringing the realms "ever closer together", as he reaches 85th birthday.
December 5689 (backdated)
Emperor Richard II, who recently celebrated his 85th birthday (he was born in 5604), stated in his Hallowtide public television address, that his last remaining hope as monarch was to bring "both of his realms ever closer together" than they already are.
The Luthorian and Mordusian monarch, who has been ruling both nation as their sovereign for the last 62 years, sparked controversy with that statement, as it was the first time that the Luthorian monarch shared his personal opinion on any question and even though Luthori-Mordusian relations remains strongly tied to the Crown, some argued that it was an abuse of powers and an "constitutional breach" of his functions as the Luthorian monarch, who is expected by custom to remain apolitical and neutral.
Quote:What the Emperor said was deeply shocking, while none can argue against his sincerity of his wishes, the fact that he used national television as a platform was deeply troubling, and in my view, a breach of his constitutional duties as head of state.
The Prime Minister has the responsibility, as per with the constitution, to lay out the priorities of the day for the government and the Emperor, who's the head of state, instead of the Prime Minister, through this speech seems to laying out the government's agenda instead of them, which I find pretty shocking.
Said an interrogated Williamite citizen, who refused to let his identity be disclosed to our journalist in front of the Orange Palace, His Majesty's official residence in Fort William. While for others, the Emperor's address was "concerning", as in their mind, it breached constitutional precedent and protocol to have the monarch says something that could considered as "controversial", on the other hand, most people simply "do not have an opinion" and another part are content with the Emperor's declaration.
Quote:His Imperial Majesty is the embodiment of the Luthorian state, if every Luthorian is guaranteed the right to free speech, why can't the Emperor gives his thoughts on national TV, especially when they are of a peaceful nature.
This quote was from an editorial from the Weekly Telegraph on the day following the Emperor's speech broadcast. On the government's end, officials state that the Emperor's statements on that day were an "non-issue" and were "pre-emptively agreed upon by the Imperial Household Ministry" prior to the speech's broadcast.
For a spoksperson for Number 10, the Prime Minister's reaction was "none", as is, in his view, the entire government's position on this question. At Blackhall Palace, the Foreign Office stated that relations between Luthori and Mordusia remained the "backbone" of Luthorian foreign policy and were looking into "reasonable ways" to continue to expand and preserve this relationship for "another 300 years".
Mordusia, which remained Luthori's most steadfast and loyal ally since generations, is currently the only state with the Luthorian monarch acting as its head of state, many have called for the informal union through the Crown to be officialised by both governments, as in their point of view, it would go in both nations' "supreme interest".

In the context of a growing commercial sector, speerheaded by the signature of numerous trade agreements with numerous nations such as Egelion, Kundrati, Xsampa or even Nadiya, which was recently recognised by the Luthorian government as the legitimate successor state of the Trigunian Empire, ending an 80-year long limbo in relations between the two entities. Luthorian trade naturally places its expectations high, as these trade deals lowered trade barriers for Luthorian exports, allowing a higher quantity of Luthorian goods to be exported.
The Trade secretary, John Keller, stated that the Trade department was "confident" that Luthorian trade volume would increase "by a substantial amount". For the government's main representative on trade, these trade agreements that his ministry negotiated and successfully signed were at the Luthorian workers' and industry's advantage, with him promoting the simplistic idea that, as trade between Luthori and other nations increase, so will the Luthorian people's wealth in the coming years.
The Department of International Trade confirmed the Secretary's words through a statement, issuing their previsions for the second quarter of 5690, as a result of the immediate effects of the Nadiyan-Luthorian Comprehensive Trade Agreement of 5688 and other similar trade agreements with Egelion. For the government ministry, as trade between Luthori and international partners increased by 0.7% during this quarter, they are realistically expecting another increase of 0.5 to 0.8% during the second trimester.
According to the government, the main beneficiaries are the high tech industry and the automobile industry, with car manufacturers being the biggest winners out of anyone. Other sectors are expected to keep up as innovation restarts in these in order to make them more competitive.
The Foreign Secretary, Davy Harper, expressed "satisfaction" at these predictions and results of the government's open-minded foreign policy. Prime Minister Parker-Stanford, in power since 5679, when he successfully seized the Conservative leadership from former Prime Minister Joseph Brooke, and who is widely expected to resign either this year or next year as he stayed in office for the last 11 years, reacted to the positive economic and commercial outlook with a praise to his administration's dilligence at "ushering in a new era of prosperity for the Luthorian people".
Prime Minister Parker-Stanford, who led the right-wing coalition to victory in 5681, 5685 and 5688, becoming the first Prime Minister to secure three victories in a row, even massively expanding his majority in the Chamber of Representatives between 5685 and 5688, winning 250 seats out 434, representing a +33 majority, is now weakened politicially, with a Conservative backbench openly ushering whispers of resignation, subtly hinting at a possible leadership challenge against the aging head of government.
As of now, with the popularity of the Prime Minister remaining at high levels, and with the Tories heavily favored to win the 5692 general election, albeit with some losses compared to their landslide victory two years ago, the Tory ministers within Mr. Parker-Stanford's government remain loyal, at least for now.
With trade increasing and global notation agencies highlighting Luthori's recent economic agreements, through the rise of the Luthorian Pound's index note from A+ to AA+, it would be safe to assume that the Luthorian economy will be growing in the next years.

"Preliminary negotiations on the future of the Holy Gem seemed to have reached a dead-end.", an anonymous official from the Foreign Office who partake in the negotiations said to the LBC.
Following Yishelem's request to hand over the Holy Gem in 5693, Luthorian and Yeudi diplomats met each other in an informal effort to resolve the conflict peacefully and without hurdles.
According to informal sources in both country's respective foreign departments, the talks met their end amid significant disagreements on the stone's future.
Blaming Yishelem's unwillingness to negotiate about a potential settlement following Hutori's rebuttal of Yeudi diplomatic efforts to seize their three gems two years ago, informal discussions seems to have reached a standstill as both Fort William and Yeudi authorities blame each other for the ultimate failure of the talks.
With the break of talks between the two delegations, the fate of the Holy Gem, Luthori's only one of the 8 Gems still in possession remains in limbo. On one hand, the Yeudis wish to see its return in its "homeland" following the return from Vanuku of four of the eight gems, making the number of gems in Yishelem of 5 out of 8. On the other, the Luthorians seems unwilling to budge, as they consider the gem to be apart of their national treasure.
"The Holy Gem remained in Luthori for more than 3 millenia, for far longer than it ever remained in Yeudi soil. [...] it is as such as much a part of Luthorian history and culture than it is to the Yeudis.", historian Charles Brooker said to the LBC, showcasing the Luthorian vision on the ownership of its gem, while the Yeudis push its origin as a way to argue for its return, the Luthorians instead argue that the long stay in Luthori and its long-held status as a property of the House of Orange-Villayn (Luthori and Hutori's reigning royal families) make it - de facto, Luthorian.
The Imperial Household rejected attempts to reach out for an explicit statement, instead deffering to the Ministry of Culture for further remarks.
The Yeudi authorities have been leading a campaign of intentional interference into the Luthorian public space through a campaign of ads aimed at pressuring the Luthorian government into surrendering its gem, the campaign, broadcasted through traditional media outlets seems to have found a receptive public ear, with some politicians, especially those on the left calling on the gem to be restituted to Yishelem.
The ruling Conservative government remains firmly opposes the "unilateral" surrender of the Holy Gem, as are all other mainstream political formations - expressing fanatic opposition at the surrender of what is perceived as "rightfully Luthorian" by many.
"His Majesty's Government do not concern itself about the ridiculous attempts at trying to influence our popluation. The government's decision to not engage itself in the process of potential cession of the gem will remain as such.", according to a Foreign Office spokesperson.
