The Prime Minister, Stephen Young has indicated that Luthori was “ready” to join the Majatran-Artanian Treaty Organisation, the Vanukean and Narik-Darnussian military alliance focusing on “preserving peace and stability” in the sector. 

Luthori was originally heavily involved in the drafting process, as former Prime Minister Seddon heavily lobbied for the quick ratification of the treaty by Parliament. Unfortunately, Mr. Seddon’s cabinet collapse in 5705 stalled the process in a gridlocked Imperial Parliament where the Tories only had a minority government. 

His successor, Lord Huffington, also pressed for the ratification of the Majatran-Artanian Treaty – such process would make Luthori ascend as a full member of MATO, like the Kingdom of Vanuku and the Dual Republic, in which Luthori has been in a military alliance for now over numerous decades. 

The move was criticised by pacifist organisations who denounced “the risk of continued escalation of the international order” through this entry into the organisation. Mark Oliver, Labour MP has for his part denounced the “government’s lack of observation” in terms of international tensions. The Labour MP pointed at the recent “Eastern Terra Cooperation Conference” - saying that “Luthori ascending to MATO would endanger the world’s current fragile balance of powers”. 

While some crticised the move – the government’s move was welcomed by the Luthorian military-industrial complex – the Conservative Party, currently dominated by “Seddonite” conservatives, while performing badly on the polls for the upcoming election has nevertheless successfully pulled the trigger on this question – with Prime Minister Huffington engaging himself to sign the Majatran-Artanian Treaty in “the next few days”. 

While some left-wing Labour Party members have sharply criticised the move and demanded that the Labour Party opposes this move through a vote of no-confidence in the Diet – Mr. Holian-Keaty's Labour seems unwilling to press the subject further, specifically as the general election approaches. 

Currently, Labour polls ahead on every pollster, even Conservative-leaning ones – the Guardian states that the Labour Party’s chance of victory is of 4 to 1 compared to the Tories right now. 

Mr. Holian-Keaty has stated that the ascension of Luthori into MATO would be a “breach of precedent by the Foreign Office concerning international military alliances and partnerships”, but has nonetheless refused to comment on a possible withdrawal if Labour takes the Premiership – saying that a Labour government would “carefully assess Luthori’s security partnerships and decide on a case-to-case basis”

Imperial Conference summoned by Emperor William XI over 'harmonisation' of imperial succession laws.

Upon the request of Luthorian Prime Minister, Lord Huffington, Emperor William XI has officially summoned both His Majesty’s Government-in-Luthori and His Majesty’s Government-in-Mordusia to “organize, in the swiftest delays an Imperial Conference to discuss of matters related to the Confederation”. 

It is the first time that the monarch uses this prerogative, granted to the Emperor by the Randworth Agreement, signed in 5697 and ratified through the Statute of Darlington, 5697 in the Luthorian Parliament. 

Ten years later, it seems that the monarch finally used this ability of his and that an “Imperial Conference”, assembling delegations from both Luthori and Mordusia and the Crown in an undisclosed location to discuss of matters related to the relationship between the two nations. 

The first Imperial Conference will, according to specialists, be focused around the “harmonisation” of succession laws throughout the Confederation, an issue in which the Mordusian government has pressured the Luthorian government to act upon for years. 

Negotiations over the matter have started in late 5705, according to government sources, the negotiatons focused on the reform of the terms of the Randworth Agreement targeting the succession laws of the Imperial Confederation nations. 

Currently, the aforementioned treaty states that member states that: “The member nations enter in agreement with current legislation in Luthori, namely the Succession to the Throne Act” - it states explicitly that the Luthorian Parliament is the paramount decision-making body in terms of regulating the terms of succession to the Luthorian and Mordusian thrones. The wording of the treaty was seemingly one of the Mordusian delegation’s most pressing concern – with former Mordusian lead diplomat, Robbert Williams saying that “the treaty needs to be modified, starting at this level”. 

The wording also led to the interrogation about the judicial status of the Luthorian and Mordusian Crowns – officially both Crowns are officially separate legal entities, but this wording of a treaty which both Parliaments approved of – basically places the Luthorian Crown on a pedestal over the Mordusian Crown, granting de facto right to the Parliament of Luthori to unilateraily change the succession laws if they so wish – through amendments to the Succession to the Throne Act. 

The House of Peers’ Select Constitutional Reform Committee has released a statement praising the government for its “actions to resolve the constitutional limbo in which our succession laws are currently in”. The Mordusian Government released a small statement stating their “satisfaction at the summoning of an Imperial Conference”. 

According to diplomatic sources – negotiations have already reached a satisfactory point for each party, each agreeing on the “harmonisation” of the succession laws through the Confederation’s framework. Luthori’s Crown Street rejected offers for interviews stating that “while negotiations are going smoothly – there is still details left to be negotiated upon” 

The upcoming Imperial Conference is expected to be held in Luthori – with the Emperor and his Prime Ministers attending the conference.

Luthori’s intervention in New Verham was limited – but Luthori’s foreign office announced a £30 billion aid package towards the nation. This aid package is expected to be transferred to the newly created Reconstruction and Stability Agency (RASA) in New Verham. 

The Luthorian Foreign Office stated that the Imperial Development Agency (IDA) will be providing £30 billion to help New Verham’s reconstruction. Foreign Secretary Lord Stanley announced today to NLB (New Luthori Broadcasting). The Foreign Secretary said that this support was “necessary” to secure New Verhamese future. 

“We’ve intervened in New Verham to secure our own citizens and structures, through this, entering the war in New Verham in limited capacity. As such, we’ve been in contact with New Verhamese officials to provide more support to the nation – continuing Luthorian involvement in this international high point.”, said Lord Stanley. 

Luthorian funding will primarily get used by the RASA to rebuild the nation’s struggling infrastructure and continue funding for already-existent programs in that field. The large amount of money transferred from the Luthorian government to New Verham rose some eyebrows, but the Luthorian government was quickly able to shut down critics. 

Luthorian aid comes following Bianjie and Xsampan announcements of their support to the Reconstruction and Stability Agency (RASA) - in that regard, the Luthorian Foreign Office stated that Luthori's move was "primarily encouraged by the support of fellow Dovani nations to their neighbors".

In a joint statement released by both governments, the Luthorian Empire and the Republic of Valruzia have announced entering a “partnership related to joint security objectives” in the Artanian Sea. This announcement was later confirmed by a social media post from Prime Minister Young – who said that both countries had reached “an agreeable agreement on joint patrols on the Artanian Sea” 

This agreement was welcomed by all sides of the Luthorian military establishment. General Park Oliver, chief of the defence staff said “we’ve entered a stable, limited partnership with Valruzia, one which will continue to help Luthorian armed forces in their task operations to provide security in the Artanian Sea”. 

Many thought that this agreement was never going to be signed by either of the two nations, notably due to different geopolitical interests – Luthori has notified its entry into MATO on August 5707, when both Houses of Parliament ratified Luthori’s entry into the multilateral security organisation. Valruzia, on the other hand, attended the Eastern Terra Cooperation Conference, a meeting widely agreed to have been held in reaction to the formation of MATO in the Western Hemisphere. 

MATO and Eastern Terran nations have recently at odds with each other, specifically with the break of the Egelian-Vanukean military agreement, named the “Two Lions Pact” - Egelian government officials stated that the end of the Two Lions Pact was due to “difference in philosophy” - with Egelion claiming a turn into a “reconciliatory tone” in their diplomacy in opposition to Vanuku’s apparent turn to “militaristic diplomacy”. Luthori’s entry into the MATO organisation, of whom Vanuku is a founding member state – might have complicated the Foreign Office’s ongoing negotiations with Valruzia. 

Nonetheless, it seems that the Huffington government and the Zagórski government have successfully reached an agreement which satisfied both nations’ security concerns on the Artanian Sea. The Valruzian Chancellor’s Office hasn’t yet responded to the joint statement – although a statement on that matter is expected on the next days. 

Through this agreement, Luthorian and Valruzian naval forces shall engage in limited collaboration in their activities in the Artanian Sea, Luthori and Valruzia shall also in limited intelligence sharing concerning activities in the Migrants’ Pass and joint patrols in the maritime space. Luthorian and Valruzian military officials could also, as per the agreement, enter “discussions” in relation to the cooperation.  

Luthorian officials have stated that this accord was “important in paving the way for both nations’ security”. Defence Secretary Beau Lake reportedly expressed his “satisfaction” at the agreement. Nonetheless, Foreign Secretary Martin Enel said that this accord was “the result of a long process of negotiations between both parties and it answered both nations’ wishes and needs on the matter”.

Luthorian military spending has seen a worrying increase in the 5690s, at least according to international specialists. Even in Luthori, this rapid increase in military spending has been controversial, with the National Labour Party first opposing the move, but considering rising tensions worldwide – with Luthori entering MATO earlier that year, Holian-Keaty's Labour Party moved towards tacit acceptance of the status quo. 

In 5701 – Luthori's Defence Department announced the nation’s wish of acquiring ICBM and IRBM technology for "defence purposes” this move was observed as a continuation of Luthori’s defence rearmament program, although it did represent a significant escalation of Luthori’s rearmament endeavours.

With the nation’s newfound focus on offensive weapons – Luthorian officials addressed the need for foreign and domestic collaboration on the development of Intercontinental ballistic missiles and of interregional ballistic missiles weaponry – leading to the entry into a lucrative partnership between Sato and the Luthorian government. 

As of now, Prime Minister Huffington’s government agreed to the “current policy” set by its predecessor on the matter – tacitly accepting the status quo relating to missile technology development. The Ministry of Defence furthermore stated its “interest” at “expanding” the current project’s scope by introducing projects for submarine-lanuched ballistic missile (SLBMs), specifically targeting potential replacement of current Matthew V missiles. 

Already, the projected cost of the ongoing ICBM and IRBM program is expected at tallying at around £102.43 billion, according to recent projections from the Imperial Office of Economic Statistics (IOES) - compared to provisions in 5701, constitutes a rise of 113,8% in projected expenditures. A rising cost that, following 7 years of continued research and development, is likely to continue rising, as the government hasn’t yet even yet launched the bidding process yet. 

Luthorian government officials have said that, in relations with the military projects currently ongoing, that the Luthorian government was “considering” increasing funding into the long-forgotten Luthorian Space Agency (LSA). The LSA’s main difficulties throughout the years were the lack of a launching point close to the equator and the lack of interests from political leaders. 

Luthori’s interest into acquiring ICBM and IRBM technologies has been confronted to a roadblock – the fact that satellites were required to successfully master these technologies. Due to this fact, Luthorian defence officials have been silently, yet firmly pushing the Huffington government to act – by increasing the funding granted to the Luthorian Space Agency. 

Scientific voices, long frustrated by Luthori’s seeming uninterest at its own space program have echoed the call from military officials, calling on the government to increase funding to the space agency as well. Currently, Luthori’s space budget reaches £1.74 billion – a funding deemed “sufficient” by leading voices within the Cabinet, due to Luthori’s limited focus into space exploration – but one also criticised for being “far too little for a country such as Luthori” by others. 

Besides, Luthori’s issues with a base of operations have been resolved, at least temporaily with the entry of the nation into MATO, granting it access to Amudim’s Amshimov space launching post. Discussion on that matter have been ongoing, according to the Foreign Office with Yeudi authorities about potential authorisation to use the base for launching. 

Nonetheless, Prime Minister and Innovation Secretary, Scott Hogg have both expressed willingness at raising the budget of the Luthorian Space Agency by either doubling it, as per Mr. Hogg’s wishes of a budget standing at £3.48 billion or by a “respectable 50 to 75 percent increase”, according to the Prime Minister. 

Such funding would likely go to kickstart Luthori’s own satellite program – aimed at completing Luthori’s long-sought defence objectives. Besides, Luthori could at least think about the ways that the space agency could be exploited.

Emperor William arrived in Bianjie through the imperial state jet coming from New Englia after spending three days there. This visit was highly anticipated upon due to Luthori and Bianjie’s seeming geopolitical rapprochement during the civil war in New Verham and the role of Their Majesties in perpetuating this diplomatic course. Of course, certain questions were going to be problematic, Luthori’s former position as a colonial power specifically. 

As Their Majesties arrived in Bianjie, it was shown in a poll for the BHK, that a slim majority of 53.5% of questioned individuals have expressed “distrust” at the Emperor of Luthori’s visit in Bianjie – as compared to 55% two months ago. Understanding this distrust, deeply rooted in mistrust of Western involvement in Dovani and lingering issues with the colonial past between Luthori and Bianjie was key to Emperor William’s state visit. 

It does seem however that the previous state visit from the Luthorian Emperor in New Englia – which was praised by all sides of the New Englian political spectrum as having been an “useful visit, which addressed the issues with Luthori’s relationship with its former colony”, according to Martin O’Neil in an editorial to the Evening Standard – has been useful in rehabilitating Luthori’s image among the public, specifically as steps have been taken in recognising Luthori’s past colonial activities. 

Emperor William XI was received by a delegation composed of a guard of honour, Matt Bratt, Luthorian Ambassador to Bianjie and other Bianjie state officials. The monarch, after reviewing Bianjie troops went to the Stanford Mansion in Gemun where they’ll spend the three nights of their visit.  

On their way to the Stanford Mansion, the Emperor and Empress’ motorcades were met with protesters who were demonstrating against the state visit of Emperor William in their nation. Leading the charge were students and young left-wing activists, they protested the lack of recognition from the Luthorian Empire of its colonial legacy in Bianjie. Messages of “Go Home Tea-Drinker" or “We’ll Never Forget” dominated the small-scale protests, the largest of which took place near the Stanford Mansion in Gemun, where 200 young protesters assembled.  

One said that “they [Luthori] think that they can send their emperor and that every sin committed by the Empire here would be promptly forgotten.”, sharing an interesting viewpoint about the still controversial visit in Bianjie from Luthori’s monarch. Politically, while centrist parties such as the Socialist People’s Party (SPP) and the Democratic People’s Party (DPP) adopted a cautious tone, with the SPP stressing in a statement that the Bianjie people “deserve to be adequately represented, their needs and wishes being answered”, the Bianjie far-left and far-right both have reacted negatively. 

Bianjie’s Progressive Communist Party slammed the visit as an “unfortunate attempt by Luthori to make us [Bianjie] forget about their past crimes in our soil”, the party reiterated its position of “colonial apologies”, demanding that the Luthorian Emperor “takes responsibility for the countless martyrs caused by his nation”. BSP (Bianjie Sovereignty Party) leader, Eidu Arakcou published controversial comments on social media saying that the visit “will change nothing, no forgiveness for Luthori’s crimes and as such, the Luthorian monarch can promptly pack his bags and go home”, a position which was echoed by the far-right National Conservative Union (NCU). 

Even within the ruling SPP-PCP government, voices rose to oppose the state visit, primarily from the SPP’s youth wing (Shakokutō Youth) which largely participated in the anti-visit protests.  

Emperor William XI and Empress Victoria were then invited to attend a State Dinner organised by Bianjie’s Khan Nilhuma in a superb reception at the Orchid Palace in downtown Gemun. The Emperor, the Empress, the Khan, the Premier of Bianjie and other highly important figures were present at this celebration of the first Luthorian Emperor’s visit in Bianjie since generations.  

Both heads of state addressed their guests in speeches before the meal – but Emperor William’s words went well beyond what was originally planned. The Emperor stated that “[Luthori] we, as a nation, committed countless crimes, as did all others, but none can compare to the systemic subjugation of countless peoples into our realm”, he moreover added that “the Empire, as it is, stands as the successor state to our ancestors’ crimes, which brought their fair share of suffering upon all colonised peoples, as such, I believe it is my responsibility to formally ask for your forgiveness and can only be hopeful that these sore feelings between our nations might be overcomed in the future.” 

This single statement – brought Luthorian policymakers in Fort William to a standstill, it was technically a direct apology from the Sovereign on behalf of the nation concerning its colonial crimes – an unprecedented step in recent Luthorian history.  

In Luthori, reactions were mixed, conservative groups such as the Hosian People’s Party denounced a “regrettable choice of words”, the Conservative government has for its part, acknowledged the “unforgiving reality of Luthori’s actions in its former colonies” and has promised to “promptly address” these issues. The left-wing opposition however, commanded the emperor for having “stepped on a very difficult topic”, stated a Green party statement, the Labour Party stated through party leader Holian-Keaty that “colonisation was a terrible crime and it is good that someone finally acknowledges it for what it is.” 

In Bianjie, the majority of the political class commanded Emperor William’s address during this state visit, although some called for more actions to be enacted as part of a large “reparation program”, as petitioned by some anti-visit protestors and Bianjie’s far-left in the PCP, the Bianjie far-right has nonetheless stated their opposition to the state visit, dismissing Emperor William’s words as “merely a political stunt to make us forget about their crimes”. 

The Emperor and the Empress, alongside the Khan then visited the newly built College of Dovani and the Ersangi University of Technology, embarking in Bianjie’s state-of-the-art railroad infrastructure to reach their destination. Emperor William XI expressed the hope of “seeing cultural cooperation and exchanges develop between Luthori and Bianjie in the next years”, a statement which was widely seen as far too early as Bianjie and Luthori are still mending wounds from their shared history in colonialism. 

Emperor William XI praised Bianjie’s “innovation nature”, as the nation has been innovating on many fields – helping its integration in current global politics as a player that matters.  

The Emperor and Empress left Bianjie on the morning following the visit of the two education institutions to set sail on their next visit, Xsampa. Their Bianjie state visit will be likely remembered as a turning post - the first time, where formally, the Luthorian monarchy acknowledged its and the nation's role in the subjugation of millions of people throughout the world.

National Labour Party secures large majority in Diet, ending 30 years of Conservative governance: NLB projects.

Mr. Holian-Keaty's National Labour Party has seemingly secured a large majority in the Imperial Diet, defeating the Prime Minister’s bid for the stabilisation of his difficult premiership. Edward Holian-Keaty, Leader of the Opposition since 5699 is expected to become Luthori’s new Prime Minister after 9 years in the front row of the opposition benches. 

Stephen Young, Lord Huffington has publicly reacted to the news of the Conservative Party’s defeat by congratulating Mr. Holian-Keaty on his “hard fought” electoral success and by thanking the voters who “placed their trust on the Tory Party”, the Prime Minister has announced that he would meet His Majesty the Emperor tomorrow to formally tender his resignation and advice the nomination of Mr. Holian-Keaty as his successor. 

Within the Conservative Party, the mood was dark and sober, no big electoral victory rally was planned and Mr. Mitchell Brown, leader of the Conservative Party through an agreement with Mr. Young has announced his resignation as party leader after such a disappointing result. The Tories merely secured 117 seats in the Imperial Diet, losing a net of 111 seats in this election cycle, the Tories facing a total wipeout in some areas. 

This cataclysmic loss in seats was explained by the electorate’ fatigue with Conservative governance, the Prime Minister’s own unpopularity and the Tory Party’s reputation as a “do-nothing party” contributed to this result. With Brown and Huffington out of the picture, the Tories are once again expected to be thrown into a bitter leadership struggle. 

On to Mr. Holian-Keaty, the Labour leader was jubilant when the exit polls came out, boasting during his victory speech that “Luthori has chosen the path of bold leadership” - the National Labour Party is expected to secure a large majority of 301 seats out of 477 seats available in the lower house. This victory wasn’t due to Mr. Holian-Keaty's own personal popularity however, the long-time Labour leader has been trying to tow the “middle line” in party doctrine and had become increasingly unpopular amoung the orthodox left-wing factions and the moderate “soft Labour” factions, he notably defeated a primary challenge from hard-left Labour MPs Timothy Porter in 5706, securing his position as Leader of the Opposition, even if for a short timeframe. 

Mr. Holian-Keaty's “centrist line” was also significantly helped by the Tories’ internal infighting, the unpopular appointment of a Prime Minister from the House of Peers and the economic downturn hitting the Luthorian economy. The Labour Party promised “bold reforms”, promising reforms to the House of Peers, economic renewal through international and domestic investments, “refueling the Imperial Corporations” among other things. The National Labour Party has also promised to “dramatically decrease military expenditures”, a sharp U-turn from the Tories’ policies of increased military preparedness, although the future Prime Minister had toned down the anti-military rhetoric during the campaign – promising that a Labour government would “continue supporting our men and women in uniform”. 

With such a large mandate for the Labour Party – many are expecting bold reforms to be enacted, although a large portion of the population have expressed dessilution with the current political establishment – many voters who voted for the Labour Party have, according to a poll, done so in order to “defeat the Conservatives”, this opinion appeared first in the poll with 54% of respondents admitting having doing so.  

Other political parties are also celebrating tonight, as the demise of the Conservative Party through its internal squabbles have paid the way for the rise of other political formations, such as the Liberal Party, who secured 24 seats in the lower house and solidified its standing as Luthori’s third political “bloc”. The Liberal Party leader, George May has stated that he and the Liberal delegation to Darlington Palace would “fight tough and nails for the implementation of an agenda for the Luthorian people”, 

Same words for the Left Party co-leader, Kate Hughes who said after her political formation won 10 seats in the lower house that “the Tories’ lack of care for the Luthorian people and Labour’s lies will pave the way for the rise of true socialist alternative in Luthori” - expressing confidence for the next election cycle.  

The Hosian People’s Party secured 14 seats in the general election, and the Green Party secured 13 seats in the Imperial Diet, both political formations cementing their independence from either Labour or the Conservatives. The Hosian Democrats beneficiated from their refusal to a government agreement with the Lord Huffington’s Conservatives. Green Party leader, Pat Nick has declared, following this good election performance that the Green Party would “represent its voters in Darlington by pushing for policies that they most care about electoral reform, green transition and sustainability and progressive values” - a message to the Labour Party that the Greens would not adhere to the party’s platform without concessions. 

To conclude this bulletin, Republicans in the Diet have been wiped out following this election cycle, the Republican Party of Luthori facing internal challenges and running low on funds, in a country where over 94% of the population either supports or “isn’t bothered” by the continued presence of the Monarchy – the next months might be the real test of the republican movement in Luthori, either sentenced to extinction or continuing its difficult existance.

Holian-Keaty's National Labour Party has only been in office for a few weeks now, but with the appointment of seasoned diplomat, Dr. Henry Jacob Schnee Jr as Foreign Secretary, it seemed that a page was turning in the Foreign Office’s long and extended history. The newly appointed Foreign Secretary announced that the Department of Foreign Affairs would be following a “new line of conduct”, he said. 

This “new line of conduct” subtly refers to the policymaking of the Department. For long, the Conservatives have pushed forward a policy of “non-interventionism nor weakness”, while this policy has long since been breached at many moments, it called for Luthori to remain both aloof in its foreign entanglements and most importantly to not push ideological elements into its policy.  

Now – with an empowered Labour Party now in government, Dr. Schnee has begun to carefully tear down the Conservatives’ policy. In a memorandum released on May 3rd, the Foreign Office stated that the current policy doctrine was “needlessly outdated” and that Luthori “desperately needed a new line of conduct of its foreign policy, one that reflects the Luthorian Empire’s new status as a rising power.”, the memo stated. 

Yesterday, in light of these developments, the Foreign Office revealed its new policy platform, nicknamed “P.E.A.K”, an acroymn standing for “Peace, Enlightenment, Awareness and Knowledge”, this new policy stands as the new arms of the Luthorian Empire when pressing its interests outwards. The first letter, P stands for Peace. In the declaration, it is stated that “Luthori will press, first and foremost, for the preservation of peace by any means throughout the world”, this statement is merely a reaffirmation of the Labour Party’s long-standing policy on the world stage.  

E – standing for “Enlightenment”, is a new, unfamiliar vocabulary – it calls for the clear endorsement of liberal democratic values by the Foreign Office when reflecting upon its policies and decision-making. “Luthori is one of many homes of liberal democratic values for which we all care – freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of representation – all of these freedoms must no longer be restrained to the Empire itself, but be pressed forwards by His Majesty’s Foreign Office throughout the World”, stated the paper in reflection of this policy – it signals a shift from the Foreign Office’s part, for decades, Luthori restrained itself in ideological debates, with numerous policy thinkers arguing that it would be a “total waste of the diplomat’s time and effort in preserving and expanding Luthorian interests” - towards a total endorsement of the liberal democratic system of governance, this unwavering committment to liberal democracy could have been encouraged by Luthori's ascension into MATO years earlier.

A – standing for “Awareness” - representing another facet of this policy, one too many times overlooked by the Foreign Department, and that is of recognising Luthori’s past deeds as a former colonial power or in its intervention, by offering “concrete and real apologies and reparations”, this shift in power was encouraged by His Majesty The Emperor’s apologies in Bianjie during his Dovani tour. Dr. Schnee has been repeatedly calling in his conferences the Luthorian government to formally apologise for its role in colonialism and offers “concrete and real solution” in order to move on from this “dark chapter” in Luthorian history. 

To conclude, through the K - “Knowledge”, the Luthorian government announced its intention to act as the main “protector” of the Luthorian language and culture worldwide, through the foundation of the “Luthorian Institute”, this institute will be operating educational centres throughout the world and will be enrolling individuals interested in learning about Luthori, its culture, its history, its language and more. The foundation of this agency is expected when the Institute Establishment Bill would have passed both the Imperial Diet and the House of Peers. 

Foreign Secretary Schnee defended his new policies this morning after Conservatives and HPP lawmakers argued against its implementation, with even current Shadow Peer Leader, Lord Stanley expressing his disapproval of the statement. He simply stated that “Luthori needs to move on and be bound to the fragility of Conservative politics”.

The House of Peers has approved in the third reading, the Institute Establishment Bill, first proposed by the Holian-Keaty government in Parliament following the announcement of the “PEAK” doctrine. The Luthorian Institute for Education and Knowledge will act as a distinct independent agency, however with most of its funding being allocated by subsidies from the Foreign Office. The Luthorian Institute is expected to be granted imperial charter for its operations in the following days, after a meeting of the Privy Council to officialise the chartered status. 

The House of Peers approved of the bill following an intense debate concerning the “PEAK” doctrine of the Holian-Keaty government. Left-wing peers accused the government of “cynicism” when it comes to the enactment of this doctrine, however, they have also congratulated the Prime Minister for his “bold” endorsement of the “necessity of facing our crimes”. In the Conservative Party’s point of view, the Shadow Leader of the House of Peers, Lord Stanley attacked what the Tories sees as an “useless and apologetic policy”. He said that “Luthori has to move on, time for the World to do as well, not throwing apologies everywhere because some protesters seemingly pressured His Majesty’s Government into doing so for things made 2.000 years ago.” 

The bill’s debate shifted from the Luthorian Institute towards a wider debate and criticism of the government’s recent foreign policy moves. Recently elected Tory leader, Patrick Simon has attacked the Foreign Secretary’s policy memorandum as a “symbol of Labour weakness on foreign affairs” in a column published to the Telegraph. The Leader of the Opposition has reiterated his comments today in the Imperial Diet, stating that “weakness in this world is currently not sought, but fled from. It seems that the Labour Party thinks otherwise, dedicating themselves into the emptying of Luthori’s treasury towards people who do not love or even like us a bit, and will never do.” 

These comments were quickly taken by the right-wing press such as the Telegraph, Channel 7 or right-wing tabloids such as “The People’s”, which in a headline stated: “How Labour Wants to Ruin Luthori”, outlining the “PEAK” policy as a deliberate instrument used by the Labour government to “weaken” Luthori abroad.  

With the passage of the Institute Establishment Bill, the Luthorian Institute shall stand as the pinnacle of Luthorian culture abroad, and one of its main representatives. According to a rough draft of the imperial charter which will be granted to the organisation stated that the “Imperial Luthorian Institute for Cultural and Linguistic Studies” will be tasked with “defending, preserving and expanding the reach of Luthorian culture and customs and the learning of the Luthorian language through the education of the masses” - this task will be made manifest through the creation of education centres throughout the World.
