Clenonberg in search for a majority

President zum Clenonberg leaving the VVP Headquarters

In a political high-tension situation, President Vanessa zum Clenonberg has been spotted leaving the VVP headquarters in Bannerhafen. This recent media spectacle has fueled rumors about a potential "national unity coalition" between the DRP and the VVP. Especially in social media networks and the general population talks about this potential government variant is spreading like a wildfire. Thomas Feeret, political analyst at the Institute for Market Research, says that he thinks this coalition is highly unlikely. "The current state of Dual Republican politics, and the heated situation between the two traditionally large parties makes this virtually impossible. Both Clenonberg and Sleyster have been very hostile toward each other in the election and their programmes are incompatible to say the least. If the president doesnt want to seem like a sellout and scrap half of her plans for the coming third term she has to look for alternatives." We asked Feeret if he had any other situations he would find more realistic, he said that "a successful term for Clenonberg will require the cooperation of the extremist Revolutionairen party or at least their acknowledgement."

DRP and small party minority coalition set to form

DRP, SDP, LB, GBB and R representatives meeting at a conference room

Over the last months the president and the political secretary of the DRP have held talks with all parties in parliament. This morning officials of the DRP invited the press to its headquarters where they prepared a meeting with officials from all centrist parties and the far-left Revolutionairen. According to the party representatives in initial talks with the party there have been discovered options which seem acceptable for all parties to continue working with the communists. While the negotiations were very challenging especially in regards to the Landbund which is inherently more center-right leaning. Now the DRP is going to propose the compromise coalition agreement they've prepared and is trying to finalize the process. If it succeeds this will mean a government consisting of DRP, SDP, LB and GBB. It has been made a condition for the Landbund that the communists do not enter government, instead the Revolutionaries act as a supplying confidence actor in the Nationalrat to overcome any issues with potential motions against Clenonberg. In turn for this assistance, the communists are getting wide ranging economic concessions including harsh banking and financial regulations and nationalizations in peak-industry sectors such as energy and infrastructure. A random member of the negotiating team of the DRP said that they're confident that the meeting will be successful and that a government is going to stand at the end of the month.

Clenonberg enacts Queer Rights Act

Queer Parade after the order.

"Whats promised during the election is still promised after it." In the light of this motto three-time President Vanessa zum Clenonberg has fulfilled her promise of signing in the "Queer Rights Act" via executive order. The executive order is a tool restricted to the president which allows to change certain enforcement statutes, such as in this case the criminal penalization of same-sex acts in public and other gender sensitive topics. What Clenonberg is signing in is actually less of an act and more of a stop of enforcement. This move has sparked euphoric sentiment among the respective communities and multiple parades have been held in the larger townships of the Dual Republic. The political right such as some circles around the VVP as well as the OF are critical of the move, the TKP sees it as a yeudi conspiracy in any case.

Controversial Financial Regulation Package hits Floor of Nationalrat

Opening of a Session in Parliament.

As part of Clenonberg's deal with the communist Revolutionairen, the president party (DRP) has proposed a rigid finance regulation package. It includes drastic liquidity measures for banks, a basicly unobtainable level of risk spread for insurance companies as well as mandatory transparency and bilancing measures for all companies operating within the Dual Republic. In the parliamentary session for february, the bill hit the floor for the first time and is getting lynched by members of the opposition. VVP chairman Matthijs Sleyster says "This is an existential threat to our businessmen and women, those who at the risk of their own wealth are creating and contributing to our thriving economy. This president has already burdened them with an incredible tax increase and is gutting them, combined with this, we see no way that anyone would want to operate in Narikaton and Darnussia, this is communist policy and we will not stand for it. We urge the centrist partners of the government to block this insanity. OF MP's have supported Sleyster's motions and speech. Political pundits say that the strategy to urge parties like the Landbund to block the bill might bear fruit as the reform package actually also targets their own interest group by removing some of the privileges the farmers in Nährrode are still enjoying. There have also been widespread call for protests by middle-class activists, conservatives and liberals of all coleur. The United Industrial Society of the Dual Republic have increased their lobbying efforts tenfold and say that this package "actually is threatening" to them.

Financial Regulation fails to pass in Parliament

The numbers are looking better *smirkyface*

Investmentbankers, Hedgefund managers and financial wizards are sighing in relief as the controversial financial reform package has failed to pass through the halls of the Dual Republican parliament, the Nationalrat. In the end both the parliamentarians of the centrist Landbund as well as parts of the DRP have joined the conservative opposition to kill the bill. This comes after extensive VVP fillibustering by moving and talking in slowmotion. "Whaaaat doooooo yoouuuuu meeeaaaaaannnnnn tttthhhiiiiiisssss wwiiiiiilllll heeeeeeeelpppppp bussiiiiineeessssseesssss" - VVP MP Joschua Steinbaumkreuz. Revolutionairen party members are outraged at this betrayal of the president, they've announced that they would immediately negotiate another deal and want different concessions or they're threatening to vote against the government in a motion of no confidence. Ânother wave of destablilzation hits the political community as the DRP and the President Vanessa zum Clenonberg are scrambling at the helm.

Far-Left Radicals set Oversight Agency aflame

Building of the Financial Oversight Agency in flames.

In response to the disappointing outcome in the Nationalrat, the followers of the communist Revolutionairen party have been taking to the streets the past few months. Further agitation from party elites have caused the protesters to turn into rioters and led to further radicalization. On the night of the 17th of August, the situation took a turn for the worse as some angered rioters threw a series of molotov cocktails at the building of the Financial Oversight Agency in Bannerhafen. The police stepped in but the damage was already dealt, a historic building is now beyond repair and the general population fears a further escalation of the violence spiral. The President of the Bannerhafen Department said "President Clenonberg has to act now, if this continues Bannerhafen will not be the same city this time next year."
