Efforts begin at construction of a new pipeline towards Baltusia; Benefits for both nations anticipated.
The Yepes Presidency has announced another Pan-Seleyan Project; the creation of an oil pipeline to Baltusia. Despite initial concerns about Baltusia due to their more communistic outlook on things, it seems the Yepes Presidency has managed to achieve a project that will benefit both nations. Akin to the Tukvalgad Pipeline, the Balgad Pipeline is expected to provide benefits for Baltusia and Gaduridos immensely. As Gaduridos gets more money from its oil being used, Baltusia gets a reliable provider of oil.
Due to the shorter distance, it is expected to be accomplished around 5570, and the cost is anticipated to be more shorter. While still expensive, it will be less costly then the Tukvalgad Pipeline. Irregardless of that, this will certainly provide new opportunities for both nations and cement relations between Gaduridos and Baltusia, as relations have been in a questionable limbo since the Baltusian Revolution. As such, this effort will be a great way to ensure positive relations between Gaduridos and Baltusia, both for the foreseeable future and the long term future.
Irregardless, the benefits from the Balgad Pipeline will surely out weight the costs and provide new opportunities for Gaduri and Baltusians. The pipeline will certainly provide new opportunities for Gaduridos itself however, as it'll continue to provide other Seleyan nations with cheap reliable oil from a neutral source.

Radicals secure Los Altos; PSSG defeated as Radicals prevail in the election.
The 5569 elections have finally concluded, and in a rather close race, it came down to the PSSG and the Radicals. In a rather surprising twist, it seems the people have chosen to elect Navarro to Los Altos. Marking the first time the PSSG has lost since reformation, the Radicals have not secured a majority on their own, being forced to make a coalition, and have chosen to form a coalition with Reform, seeing a Gold-Green Coalition. With Navarro set to become President, we can expect a more liberal direction for the next 4 years. As such, let's go into depth on what Navarro plans.
Starting off with the expected, more freedom for the market. While no major deregulations, we can expect more flexibility and liberties given to the free market. With the Malaise having been kneecapped, perhaps free market reforms can be the final blow to the Malaise. Alongside that, we can expect support for Federalism and an expansion of what states can do. However, two major issues are expected to be addressed. Navarro's calls for a referendum, and the more conservative nature of Reform and how viable the Gold-Green Coalition is. With a referendum being very likely to occur, we can expect strong pushback against it, especially from the National Party, which finds itself in a very small minority in the National Congress. The second issue is, of course, if Liberals and Conservatives can play nice long enough to last 4 years. While social issues weren't much of an issue this election cycle, there are still some minor disputes on the economy.
Irregardless, as Navarro and liberals across the country celebrate, the PSSG will spend some time in opposition, and it is likely that someone else will replace Yepes in the PSSG. Whatever the case, the next 4 years will certainly be interesting for the Radicals.

Balgad Pipeline completed as Navarro begins focusing on the economy; Lifting trade barriers and hints towards reviving the SEC.
The Balgad Pipeline has been accomplished. This has formally linked Baltusia and Gaduridos as Gaduri oil will help in supplying Baltusia, and Gaduridos receives money from it, allowing for more investments at home. As such, this project has provided benefits for both countries. For Gaduridos, more money means more investments, which means better living conditions for many Gaduri. And on that, the Navarro Presidency has already gone to work, looking to reduce trade barriers, and work with international investors to make Gaduridos both appealing for investors, but also ensure that Gaduridos is adequately connected to the international market.
As such, lifting trade barriers is the first major focus. As it stands, Gaduridos already had a high amount of lifted barriers in the Seleyan Economic Community, which is, for all intents and purposes, neglected. However, it serves as an inspiration for future efforts and for the international market, the Navarro Presidency has looked to cut down on protectionism, particularly protective tariffs, to make international goods that may be higher quality have less issues entering the country. The Navarro Presidency has, at least unofficially, the goal of making trade easier, for both domestic production and international investors who may have an interest in the nation. Lifting these barriers is likely a first step towards making things smoother for investors. However, any future developments will likely require specific treaties with individual countries to ensure maximum growth. Whether the bureaucracy being cut is worth the possible growth or not is yet to be seen.
Irregardless the focus on trade and the international market will likely pay dividends for the economy should successful deals be achieved with nations. Whatever the case, the Navarro Presidency is set on working with the international market, and the private sector in raising the Gaduri economy. While protectionists, and especially socialists will dislike the loss of protective tariffs, this may pave the way for a more international Gaduri economy, and at the very least, rekindle the spirit of the SEC. Should the SEC be rekindled, then the Gaduri economy could be given a major boost alongside other Seleyan economies.

Rural Investment Initiative begins; Efforts begin to improve rural Gaduridos.
The Navarro Presidency has begun a program designed to alleviate rural Gaduridos. As it stands, urban communities are developing at good rates. However, this leaves the risk of rural communities being neglected. The Navarro Presidency has looked to counter the issue before it can arise. As such, the Rural Investment Initiative has been conceived, which will focus on providing rural communities the means to development and maintain themselves. Looking to promote a federalist and a hands off approach, the RII will provide loans and grants to states, which will be able to invest that money into rural communities across the country. This will allow the states to have more flexibility and exercise newly gained rights, and allow these states to focus on where aid is needed the most.
Whether it be investing into new houses in rural communities, roads, increasing access to water, creating new jobs and industries, healthcare and education. This will help ensure that rural communities aren't left behind as the nation continues moving forward. Not only will this ensure that rural communities can maintain themselves and citizens can place food on the table, and ghost towns are made a memory of the past, but this will also help out nationally as every community that increases it's productivity ultimately benefits the national economy. However, such an effort will take time and for now, the RII is focusing on ensuring that rural communities can actually thrive.
The effort on giving the states new rights however, is also a benefit for the Radicals' goal of restoring federalism and empowering the states for the benefit of Gaduridos. The RII will ultimately provide new opportunities for various Gaduri across the country in rural communities and ensure that rural communities don't die out in an ever changing world.

Trade with Istalia begins; Breaking the ice and trading steel for solar.
In Majatra lay the state of Istalia. Comparable to a pariah state due to tensions between itself, and Pontesi, the nation has often found itself isolated economically. While it is without a doubt a rather fundamentalist communist state, it seems that this hasn't limited Istalia to pragmatic moves such as trade. After Pontesi failed to convince nations to embargo Istalia, it seems the Navarro Presidency has looked to open up trade with Istalia. While the nation is questionable in democracy, and the decision itself is controversial to say the least, this hasn't stopped Gaduri foreign policy before.
As such, a trade deal has quickly been struck, with Gaduridos providing steel to Istalia, and in exchange receiving solar panels equipment. While Gaduridos isn't not in any rush or need to go green, this can arguably go well with the RII and allow rural communities to provide themselves with solar power in a cost effective manner. Alongside expanding trade volume, which is always a win, Gaduri steel will be exported elsewhere in the world, allowing for more profits at home.
Irregardless, a pragmatic approach to Istalia may pay dividends in the long term. As trade volume expands, more efforts can be directed at raising prosperity towards individuals at home, and with solar panels from Istalia, clean affordable energy can be provided to rural communities and allow benefits there.

Redefining Federalism in Gaduridos; The power of the States expanded.
One of the key promises of the Navarro Presidency was federalism. While the remnants of Federalism from the ULG still exist, it largely leaves stated with a advisory role. It seems however, that efforts are beginning to change that. The power of the states will be expanded. The RII was a test run to see if states can properly manage their own affairs, and having been successful in using the RII to invest into rural communities, it has shown that the states can manage their own affairs without interference from the Federal Government. As such, the rights and abilities of states will be expanded. While nothing major due to limits and concerns, the states will largely have the right to manage their own affairs to a certain degree.
Quote:Recognizing the Federal Nature of the Republic of Gaduridos, it is hereby recognized that all States have the right to, but especially are not limited to the following;
- The Right to Manage Educational Affairs and Curriculum
- The Right to Manage Local Municipalities
- The Right to Justice, Laws, and Judiciary
-The Right to Law Enforcement, and Essential Services
-The Right to Industrial Regulations, and Economic Regulations
- The Right to Environmental Protections
While these are not extensive, this will allow the states to manage their own affairs, and while they will still have to be compliant with the Federal Government, this will still give leeway. With education, they can manage the curriculum and ensure every state raises a population ready for its specific needs. Local municipalities being managed is a no brainer and reduces strain on the Federal Government. Justice will ensure that laws are set to meet the needs of the states, and industrial and environmental regulations will ensure that states in a less developed position aren't halted by the Federal Government.
It's hoped that the states will gradually be given more power, and ultimately ensure a 50/50 split in power, to ensure that the rights of the states are respected, and federalism is enshrined, whilst also not becoming a confederation. However, for the time being, the states will have these new abilities, and if they can continue to manage their own affairs, more federalist efforts can begin. Whatever the case, we can expect the states to enjoy these new powers and enact reforms tailored for their needs.

Navarro pulls through for a second term; Coalition expanded to include Hosian Democratic Party.
The 5573 elections have concluded with a victory for the Radicals once again, with their margins being expanded even. As such, the Radical-Reform Coalition has continued, with it even being expanded to include the HDP. With Navarro being elected to a second term, Navarro has pledged a focus on Infrastructure this term, particularly working on a national highway system, both for the Federal Government and Local governments. The potential benefits range from easier transportation for leisure, quality of life improvements and economic development for the states.
With the HDP being included in the Navarro Administration, this is yet another 4 years with the PSSG out of government. As the PSSG begins licking its wounds and begins reconciliation with the Workers Party, they are stuck in opposition. As the Radical-Reform-Hosian Coalition is established, this relatively broad Liberal Conservative coalition has set forth on maintaining the stability of the last 4 years, and focus on economic improvements. Despite some discontent from some members of Reform over social issues, the coalition is likely to endure with little issues.
As Navarro looks towards infrastructure, the Radicals have lived up to their ULG predecessors and with an ambitious national highway plan laid out, focusing on improving the routes on the mainland and the Marlingantos tunnel, the economic potential is immense. As we look forward to another 4 years, the Radicals will have their work cut out as opposition from the Left licks its wounds.

Referendum on joining the Anantonese Empire held; EGU Act proposed in National Congress.
One of the rather controversial campaign promises of Navarro was a referendum on joining the Anantonese Empire. It seems that the referendum has finally come about, and with just as much controversy as before. As nationalists on both sides of the aisle oppose both the referendum and the EGU adamantly, moderates have been more supportive. However, let's delve into the referendum.
The referendum found itself with relatively high turn out, and despite the controversy, it seems many Gaduri have found themselves supportive of the idea of joining the Anantonese Empire. Closing polls on the referendum found many supported the concept due to economic reasons largely, with many Gaduri viewing Kalistan as a reliable partner, both in terms of economics and in general. With the referendum being successful, with 58% in favour of joining, the Establishment of a Greater Union Act has been put into the National Congress, which would formally have Gaduridos join the Anantonese Empire. As such, should it pass (which is likely as the current coalition and the PSSG have shown signs to vote in favour of it), Gaduridos will no longer be a Republic, and be reorganized into a monarchy.
With the National Party and the Workers Party opposing the EGU, it has been a strange sight seeing borderline communists and nationalists on the same side, united in opposition. The rest of the National Congress however, has found itself united. The Radicals have largely been supportive of it obviously. The PSSG, rallying under Victoria Montenegro have found themselves supporting the EGU, whilst the HDP and Reform have also found themselves supporting it. Out of 255 seats, 129 is needed for a majority, and to pass constitutional amendments like this? 170 votes are needed. So far, it's looking like it'll pass with good marks as opposition to it is failing to get past 50 votes.
Ultimately, it seems that Gaduridos will join soon, and the nation will receive benefits. As such, it is anticipated that efforts will begin on properly talking with Kaliburg and making sure that this transition goes smoothly without issue. It remains to be seen as the EGU has yet to pass, but ultimately it's likely to pass with little issue. A new era for Gaduridos is opening up, and it seems the Age of Empires has finally arrived in Gaduridos.

National Party and Workers Party organize protests against the EGU Act; EGU Act maintains high approval as optics look high for passing.
It would seem that too polar opposites have found themselves united for once. Hell may have frozen over. The far-right National Party, and the far-left Worker's Party have both found themselves united together in organizing protests against the EGU Act and joining the Anantonese Empire. With nationalists arguing for national sovereignty, nationalism, and independence, they have had no shortage of reasons to oppose the EGU. The Workers Party has found opposition on the basis of anti-imperialism, opposition to exploitation and self-determination. With both parties in opposition to the EGU, this unlikely coalition has had the sole focus of stopping the EGU from passing and changing Gaduri views.
The Navarro Presidency has so far, urged for these protests to remain peaceful, and has made it clear that Gaduridos will be entering the Anantonese Empire as an equal, with Gaduri democracy being protected, and many Gaduri find themselves in agreement, mostly looking at the economic benefits that are to come. While the National-Workers joint protests are so far limited and lack major public support, they are still worth paying attention to, and not ignoring.
With more support rising for the EGU in the National Congress, the chances of it passing are almost guaranteed as it's rapidly closing in on that 170 vote requirement. As many Gaduri are content with the concessions that were hinted towards, allowing democracy to be maintained, most Gaduri are looking forward to the economic benefits to come, and further continued support for Gaduri Neutrality. Whether the protests will change anyone's mind or not is yet to be seen, but with the EGU set to pass, the Anantonese Empire is certain to thrive.

Beginning of the Federal Highway Network; Work begins in Cuernatecas.
The eagerly awaited Federal Highway Project has begun, with work beginning in Cuernatecas, particularly the northern city of Montedios near the Baltusian border. The goal is to expand the highway down south towards Manzamal, particularly the city of Iratepec. While officially plans are included for the Marlingantos Tunnel, the focus so far is on the mainland. The FHP will be costly, but the economic benefits will make travel easier, both for commercial and normal transportation, incentive economic development and generally improve infrastructure. So far, the FHP will focus on a Federal highway, leaving the possibility of a State Highway Program for the future.
Irregardless, collaboration has begun with private companies and state companies to help in developing the FHP, and local governments have provided support where possible. As such, this can help cut down costs and ensure no delays occur. The project is anticipated to be completed by mid 5575, should the Marlingantos Tunnel be neglected. The economic benefits should help in raising economic development on the mainland, and ensure smoother travel times for civilian usage. It also lays the foundations of a potential Trans-Seleyan Highway even.
While Marlingantos and Vintalli won't directly benefit from the FHP, it is likely that the Navarro Presidency will work with state governments or begin separate projects for both islands. Whatever the case, the Federal Highway Project is anticipated to provide jobs, both in the state and private sector, and encourage economic development.
