Dispatches of War (Trigunia)
Anantonese Sea Fleet told to ready for possible intervention.
Anantonese Sea Fleet told to ready for possible intervention into Kalistani-Indralan War.
Vessels of the Anantonese Sea Fleet lower anchor, as they are ordered to prepare to possibly "relocate".
As Indrala is preparing for a massive pincer movement to capture the Kalistani Capital of Kaliburg after they captured the sea bound city of Dulnerstaad,Trigunian Minister-President Filipp Klepakhov ordered the Anantonese Sea Fleet to Full Combat Readiness. The Fleet was ordered around 5 am to launch a second drill which will include all thirty-one (31) vessels, one thousand (1,000) troops and twenty-eight (28) aircraft. "Dominance to the Indralans can only be achieved by armed conflict, as a show of their force in the region, the Zoo Alliance has showed to the world that it will go to all lengths to ensure its dominance and position at the head of the geo-political food chain is kept Intact." Minister-President Klepakhov said to reporters at his office. "Since the Indralans want to use fire to achieve their dominance, we will combat this, fire will be met with fire, the bear will tango with the dragon." He added. It is believed that there are a handful of competing forces in the Eastern Hemisphere, that being the the Black Tortoise Fleet of the Indralan Navy, the Anantonese Sea Fleet of the Trigunian Navy and the Mikuni-Hulstrian Navy. It is also believed that the only possible competition of the Black Tortoise Fleet is the Anantonese Sea Fleet seeing that the fleet was built to combat Indrala's power plays in the Eastern Hemisphere.
Reports from the Collegium of War stated that the Anantonese Sea Fleet will intervene in the conflict once under specific request from the Kalistani Government. It is expected that if Kaliburg falls, the domino effect will begin as the dragon attempts to cut off the head of the Floobari and watch it beat on the floor. Although the Floobari is holding up against overwhelming forces, it cannot hold for long even with Delterian Forces intervening. Trigunian Military Attaches are currently discussing the possible lock down the Aldegarian Gulf once more to guard the Central Seleyan nation, and Trigunia's only ally in the region from "scaly hands". Officials from the Collegium of Foreign Affairs has already recalled all diplomatic staff and citizens from Indrala, and have left the gates to Trigunia's Embassy and Consulates literally open for the Indralan Police to search. The Collegium of Foreign Affairs has stated that it will not force Indrala to close its Embassies and Consulates in Trigunia but has stated that the Indralans inside these diplomatic missions will have to expect a heavy presence from the State Security Directorate and Imperial Police as they will be monitoring their every move and have been given ordered to send Indralan spies to the after life early.

Republican Dispatches: News from the FrontKalistan Demures at Internationalization of Conflict
Regulars hold at Dahriel: Indrala bogged down at outskirts of the City
Kaliburg, Ananto
March 17, 3990
Defense Minister Grognard calls for limiting the violence in Kalistani Waters
As the War drags on, nations around the globe are rushing to Kalistan's Aid. But the Defense Minister issued remarks on the gradual internationalization of the conflict which betray both Kalistani Confidence as well as their somewhat pollyannaish commitment to the cause of Peace. Minister Grognard said, at a news Conference, following a review of Kaliburg defenses: Quote:"Look- We are confident that Kaliburg will not fall. We have promising reports from the Dah Delta, and we are confident that our positions in the mountains are secure enough to prevent a full scale attack. The approaches into Kaliburg itself are treacherous enough that the Enemy has not yet tried them, and so we are not in much danger from the sea. And yet- first Deltaria and now Trigunia have offered massive naval and land support commitments to Kalistan. Those units would have certainly been helpful before the Indralans landed, but I am afraid that now, they will serve only to spread the violence that Ananto is suffering, out across several nations. We have asked the Deltarians to deploy to the mainland, to augment regulars and Partisans there, but this should serve as a deterrant to Indrala. If Trigunia wishes to deploy a massive fleet to Kalistani Waters, we are not really in any position to oppose their arrival, but we would hope that they will not put themselves in harms way for a conflict that they don't have an active stake in. We also still officially support the demilitarization of the Anantanese Ocean- such deployment will violate our Policy there. This said, Trigunia has been a friend to Kalistan, and we hope they will use their fleet to deter Indralan invasion of the mainland. If we may limit the violence to Ananto, we will do more for the people of Kalistan than we would do if we allowed Indrala to take positions on the mainland."
The Defense Minister's Statement seems at odds with the position taken by the foreign ministry, who, if some reports are to be believed, has recently sent representatives to Mikuni to discuss possible joint action.
Cpl. Lance Jones-Congalka, along with half of his "firesquad", takes a break from patrol downtown Dahriel to pose for this picture
The Defense Minister's comments about good news from Dahriel were substantiated by embedded reporters. Though Dahriel has suffered a tremendous shelling by Indralan Artillery, the city's defense have held. Kalistani regulars have fought off attempts by Indralan forces to cut the city off from the overland supply routes to Xanadu, and have held strategic positions outside the city, which has kept the burg free of Invaders. What was supposed to be a quick capitulation has turned into a series of small but decisive victories for Kalistani Regulars. The Kalistani Propaganda bureau has wasted no time playing up the Defense of Dahriel. General Henry E. Allen, the commander in charge of the City's defenses has been called "A National Hero" for his brave defense of the city. Dahriel may fall yet, but for now, as the rainy season kicks into high gear for windward Ananto, it appears that the Indralans won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Their zone of control in this area is the Marshy lowlands which are prone to severe, unpredictable and deadly floods, and Dahriel is the first higher and dryer land in the region. Unless Indrala finds a way to move out of the swamp, their pincer offensive might be doomed.
Partisan positions, known as "Mountain Fortresses" dot the ridgeline between Mt. Su and Mt. Shmee
Finally, reporters at this Newspaper have heard unsubstantiated reports that Indralan Forces, which have spent much of the last year consolidating their strength and resupplying are beginning to move out of the city to the south into the Blue Grass Plain. They move freely throughout the Plain already, but signs point to an imminent move into the mountains between Mt. Su and Mt. Shmee. While Kalistani Partisans control most of this territory, Indralan forces appear to be determined. If there are any moves into the Mountains, we will carry the report.

Dispatches of War (Indrala)
Struggle for Dahriel
After weeks of fighting, the Kalistani city of Dahriel has proved to be a formidable enemy. The small Indralan force sent to take the city has struggled in their attack, largely due to Kalistani nationalist fervor, giving the Kalistani soldiers the morale to fight, and the geography of Dahriel's surroundings. It can take up to a day to move artillery to strategic places, making them less effective in the short run. Already, Indrala has lost over 500 men to casualties of some sort, many of them due to the disease. If this continues without respite, a victory over Dahriel will look more like a loss than a victory.
Northern Expeditionary Forces Enters Angry Mountains, Ambushed from All Sides
Finally securing the Bluegrass Valley, the Northern Indralan Expeditionary Force has entered the Angry Mountains on their way to Kaliburg. Despite the siege of Dahriel looking more like a person slowly bleeding out, Indralan military officials deem it worthy to continue with the pincer attack, expecting Dahriel to fall regardless of what happens. The goal now is to make it through the Angry Mountains and meet up with the Dulnerstaad forces to take Kaliburg head on. Unfortunately, the mountains of Kalistan are far more dangerous than they appear.
Every few miles or so, the expeditionary force is ambushed by Kalistani guerillas, no doubt barbarian mount men high on drugs believing Indralans to be fairy invaders, who manage to successful pick off two or three soldiers before the Indralans can respond. The mountain paths make it extremely difficult for the force to do much of anything in its defense. It must reach a valley before it can adequately defend itself.
In even worse news, two planes from the Black Tortoise Fleet have disappeared over the Angry Mountains. They were on a reconnaissance mission in addition to helping secure the Northern Expeditionary Force's path to Kaliburg. It is believed the planes have been shot down by the drugged up guerilla fighters, most likely believing the planes to be fire breathing dragons sent to kill their sheep. Certainly, the Ananto Invasion has proved a bit costlier than imagined.
Kaliburg Begins to Burn
Earlier this morning, Indralan ships have begun to shell the Kalistani capital, Kaliburg. Targets have explicitly been government buildings and any building that may serve a military purpose, but there will always be civilian casualties. Indrala has pledged to care for the victims once they take the city, setting up hospitals and camps to provide relief. Hopefully, the taking and destruction of the city will get the Kalistani government to the negotiating table to end piracy once and for all.

IZQUIERDA-THE VOICE OF THE KALISTANI LEFTPresident Smith gives rare Interview from Partisan positions
Reports initial contact with Indralan forward teams
Near Little Kalistani Mountain, Ananto
August 12, 3990
The President of the Republic, speaking to reporters today from her position near Little Kalistani Mountain
The President of the Republic, Poppy Smith-Bennots gave a rare interview to the Kalistani Press today. Below is a Transcript of her statement:
Quote:I have been asked by the Party to make a statement on behalf of the Partisan defenders of Northern Ananto. The Revolutionary Socialist Militia of Kalistan has begun receiving reports from our outermost Pickets just inside of the hills near to the Bluegrass valley of initial contact with Indralan regulars. The forward units report several probes in recent days, which ended indecisively. The 17th Column of Partisan Irregulars, known as "Gallegos' Radiers" and the 38th Column of Partisan Irregulars, known as "The Peacemakers" have been dispatched to the front lines and are taking up positions along the tree line. They have been informed to expect heavy fighting within the space of a few months, as the Indralan push is known to be imminent. The Indralans in the Blue Grass Valley cannot number more than 30,000, and while this is about 60% of their invasion force, Kalistani irregulars. including my own unit, the 45th Irregular Artillery Firebase, Also known as "The Finger of God," still hold all the high ground in the region and have spent the entire war thus far preparing fighting positions for rapid occupation and deployment. Our Irregulars have the reputation of being the finest Partisans on the face of the Planet, and we will not yield the Mountains of Ananto to Indrala.
The President's Partisan Unit, the 45th Irregular Artillery, "The Finger of God" preparing for imminent invasion by Indralan forces
Quote:One further note: I would like to take a moment to commend the Prime Minister and his government for continuing to manage the Republic during this entire time. I have asked the government to remain in Kaliburg, and not flee the Island. I want to express our confidence in the ultimate victory of the People in defending the Republic from these foreign invaders. Kalistani Partisans have been instructed to not surrender, and if the Indralans desire to learn the meaning of mass death, they need simply move south a few more miles and they will be within range of our guns.
Kalistani Partisans deploy from the Capital to join their comrades near Mt. Su
The President was asked a few questions about her health, to which she answered: "I am fine- I live the Partisan lifestyle. It is rough, of course, but only for the first few months. The Party had tens of thousands of men and women under arms, and it is no more or less difficult for me than it is for any of them." Asked about further deployments, President Smith confirmed that Partisan units were being reinforced from Kaliburg. When asked about the Defense of Dahriel, she answered that she hoped the Premier would appropriately recognize the regulars for their valiant defense of the City: "Without them, our right flank would be exposed here in the mountains, but it seems, for all intents and purposes, that they are turning the invasion aside, and will soon push the Indralans back into the Sea... We welcome those developments here in the Hills and are following them very closely." She then announced that she needed to return to her unit, and encouraged reporters to take it easy traveling back to Kaliburg. "We have received reports that Indrala has closed the narrow window that refugees have escaped through, and are preparing to begin shelling the city. I encourage all civilians who are left in the capital to find cover as soon as possible, because Indralan naval gunfire does not discriminate. Peace be with you, and until we meet again, Good luck to you all."
The President of the Republic, still charismatic as ever, then left the room, to a gaggle of additional questions from the pool.

Republican Dispatches: News from the FrontPartisans hold the Heights: Indralan Military finds crossing Mountains a "Slog"
Main road from Eveari to Kaliburg Nicknamed "Trail of Death"
September 3rd, 3992
Kaliburg, Ananto
Indralan Forces push inland, Forward momentum slowed
Partisan units of the Revolutionary Socialist Militia of Kalistan have been successfully holding the heights of the Angry and the Constipated Mountains for a significant portion of the war. Indralan forces are regularly sniped at from unseen positions in the heavily forested mountains by Partisan snipers, and there are still regular skirmishes between the Socialist Militia and the Indralan Military, who has been trying to cross the range. There has been so many clashes between Indralan forces and Socialist militia units along the main road between Eveari and Kaliburg, that the road has been named, on both sides, "the Trail of Death." Hundreds of Kalistani Partisans have lost their lives in the constant battle over the wild terrain and most have been buried where they fell. The Militia also reports that hundreds of Indralans have been killed as well, but this number is entirely unconfirmed.
In the Spring of this year, Indralan forces from Dulnerstaad launched a major flanking offensive through the Constipated Mountains, aiming to jar Partisan forces from their strong holds. Several Partisan units were over run fairly quickly, resulting in more than 200 Socialist Partisan Infantry captured or killed, as well as the loss of several important Militia batteries overlooking Indralan forces coming up from the Bluegrass Valley. The collapse of the Militia's left flank in the Constipated Mountains may spell trouble for the RSMoK, who have been forced to begin a defense in depth.
Militia Spokesperson Cpl. Gail Villariva said to Republican Dispatches that as Indralan forces push into the mountains and have more success, Kalistani Partisans will have to slowly move back toward Kaliburg, and will need to fight rearguard actions the entire way. Cpl Villariva also noted that the President of the Republic has been engaged in combat regularly, and is currently safe. "She's a good fighter, and has been promoted twice, though, her battery was one of the units that was overrun, and she has joined the Infantry. She has expressed interest in Leadership, and is currently being moved into command of an infantry column on Mt. Shmee."
Socialist Partisans of the RSMoK 127th "Revolutionary Commandos" stand ready to go into Ambush during a day like any other in the Angry Mountains
With the Indralan blockade remaining solid, much of Kaliburg in rubble from Naval Bombardment, and Ananto cut off from any help, the situation will grow more acute around the capital. Partisan units which have yet to be engaged around Xanadu are being called to the Front to join the fight against a pending Indralan breech in the mountains, but it is already beginning to look desperate for Kalistani Partisans, and the regulars from other parts of the Island may be called up immediately to the vicinity of Mt. Shmee to shore up Militia defenses there. Mt. Shmee is the last strong point between the main Indralan force and the Capital, and if this area falls to Indrala, they will obtain the high ground.
Meanwhile, the Battle of Dahriel is nearly completed. Kalistani defense of the City has proved to be effective, and Kalistani Regulars there, under the Command of General Henry E. Allen have begun a counter offensive designed to push Indrala back into the Sea. Fierce fighting between the two forces has subsided, with both sides losing about even casualties in what is often times battles which last for several days each. Allen stated that his troops have the fighting spirit and have contained Indralan forces to the vicinity of the Dah Delta's swampy lowlands. Allen expects to finish the counter offensive by Spring. The citizens of Dahriel, much of which has been destroyed by artillery fire are thankful to General Allen for saving the city from certain doom.

Kalistani RepublicNational Assembly Destroyed by Indralan Guns
Pressure mounts for Peace, Major Counteroffensive as War drags on
Kaliburg, Ananto District
July 4, 3993
The National Assembly Building, completely destroyed by Indralan Naval Gunfire, joins the rubble of a demolished capital.
Kalistani Lawmakers have lost the last reason to remain in Kaliburg as Indralan naval gunfire has completely demolished the National Assembly building overnight. In the explosion, the Defense Minister, Millicent Grognard was gravely injured and was immediately evacuated to the St. Pentalarc Memorial Hospital in the Old City, which is one of the few public buildings still functioning. It is not clear whether Grognard will survive: Doctors have listed her condition as "critical but stable." The only other Kalistani Nationals injured in the bombardment were six security guards and two civilians who were on the street at the hour that the building was demolished.
National Assembly members communicated with one another by phone and have decided to relocate to Xanadu, in the Southern part of the Island, where they will convene an emergency session. In the meanwhile, The President has named Colonel Fredrika Current as Defense Minister. Current, a Socialist and aide to Grognard, will serve indefinitely. In her first statement to the Kalistani Press, Colonel Current said, Quote:"The Government of Kalistan is in consultation with the leaders of Kalistan's Regular ground forces on the Mainland, and are considering a massive deployment from the mainland. So far we have maintained our positions on Ananto, and remain in control of the crest of the Mountains between Eveari and Kaliburg, but our hold on this landscape is slowly being eroded each day by a very determined foe. We will be working up contingency plans in case the Partisans and the Regulars lose any further ground which involve a massive influx of forces and materiel from the mainland, though they are currently being held in case Indrala or anyone else makes a move on our mainland Districts. On the good news side of things, we have reports from Dahriel that the Defenders of that city have pushed Indrala back into the mouth of the Delta and barring a significant change in that situation, are just weeks from forcing a conclusion to that battle."
Peace Protests continue on the Mainland, but protesters have begun to call for Kalistani victory in the war
Elsewhere on the mainland, vigils for Peace and resolution of the conflict continued, and have grown slowly over the years. And yet, the agitation for Peace on the Mainland is viewed stoically by Kalistani Citizens. "We would like for our Government to find a way to resolve the situation without bloodshed," said one Peace Activist. "But this is difficult, of course, given that foreigners control a significant portion of Ananto and have destroyed Kaliburg and Eveari. So we hope that the Government will find a way to remove this blight from our Island, once and for all, so we can get back to living!" The sentiment was echoed by other protesters, who have also said that the competing demands for peace and the exigencies of war have done much to strengthen their ties to the Society of the Brethren, rather than vice versa.

Dispatches of War (Indrala)
Battle of Mount Shmee
Though Indrala has suffered some minor casualties in run ins with Kalistani partisans, the Indralan ground forces from Eavari and Dulnerstaad pressed on to Kaliburg, the city now largely rubble. Given Kaliburg's dilapidated state, the city was expected to fall relatively easy, signaling a huge symbolic victory over Kalistan. However, in an attempt to completely eradicate the Kalistani guerillas and secure their rear, the Imperial Army met thousands of Kalistani regulars and partisans at Mount Shmee near the center of Ananto.
While superior in number and technology, Indralan soldiers were up against a foe in full rage, willing to do anything to save their homeland and expel the invaders, a feeling that is powerful enough to overcome nearly anything. Thousands of men died on both sides. Indralan deaths are around ten thousand, nearly one fifth the total number of troops sent to Ananto. The Kalistani death toll is said to be around the same number. After so much death, both sides made strategic retreats to their original positions, Indrala losing the ground it gained from its fights with the guerillas.
Now, the Imperial Army has called for reinforcements, especially after the retreat from Mount Shmee and the overwhelming odds that the troops being assaulted outside of Dahriel are on the brink of defeat. The Black Tortoise Fleet has also positioned itself in Eavari, preparing to defend the single largest remaining force of Indralans in Ananto and to protect incoming reinforcements. Things will not improve in Ananto until Indrala can raise troop numbers.

Regulars Flood in from Southern Ananto; Mainland Forces gear up for Deployment
Angry Mountains, Ananto
February 1, 3994
Indralan Forces blast Kalistani positions in the vicinity of Mt. Shmee early during the battle
In an all or nothing battle for the heart of Ananto, Indrala met the fiercest fighting of the war on the slopes of Mt. Shmee. Kalistani Regulars and Partisans from Xanadu and Dahriel arrived just in time to fight off Indralan Forces. Over four days of attacks and counter-attacks, Indrala hit Kalistan with all it had, and still could not fully dislodge Kalistani Forces from the mountain, and instead of capturing the Capital, Indrala ended up retreating back to the Blue Grass Valley to regroup.
The Late President of the Republic, Poppy Smith-Bennots, killed at the Battle of Mt. Shmee
In the battle, the President of the Republic, Poppy Smith-Bennots was reportedly among those who lost their lives on the slopes of the Mt Shmee. Her unit, set to defend a bridge over the headwaters of the Zappa River, fought a pitched battle, but eventually succumbed to enemy pressure and collapsed. President Smith's Fire Squad conducted rearguard fighting as the remainder of her platoon escaped across the river, and she was among those designated to blow up the bridge. Before she could detonate her explosives, an Indralan mortar landed in her position and she was killed immediately. Partisan forces returned to the site after the battle and held a funeral for the President, and her remains will be returned to the Capital as soon as the zone cools down. The Foreign Minister of Kalistan, Henrietta Allen, sister of the Hero of Dahriel General Henry E. Allen, who was also killed in the Battle, has been named Acting President of the Republic.
Kalistani forces, though still in command of the ridge line, were nearly wiped out, losing 3700 Partisans and more than 6000 regular forces. The Kalistani Government, at Xanadu, has called the Mainland command, and will begin mobilizing the remainder of Army Group North, in Vrassa, and Army Group Central for deployment to Ananto. Advanced elements of Army Group Central began arriving in Kaliburg, by air from Odufaray, and the remainder of the deployed force should arrive within the year. The Government remains conservative about the deployment nonetheless, still expecting an attack on the mainland, and the inability to draw troops from the mainland by sea. For now, the units will serve as defenders in Kaliburg, while regular units are rebuilt and Partisan units are reorganized in the Mountains.
The Remnants of the Kalistani Combined Forces survey the approach to Mt. Shmee, quiet now for the first time in years
The Acting Defense Minister, Colonel Current summarized the Pyrrhic victory: "We would have followed up the retreat of the Indralans back to Eveari, but our units themselves were shattered and disorganized. Years of strangulation by the Indralan navy have taken their toll on our defenses, and the proud men and women of the Combined Defenses really gave it their all. We lost nearly 10,000 combatants on that mountain in the last month, and the only reason that Kaliburg is still free is that Indrala has to be in the same shape as our troops. Our hope is that we can get our units together before reinforcements from Indrala arrive at Eveari, and they have a chance to regroup. If so, we can force a conclusion to this war."

Kalistani Republic
Interim President Henrietta Allen Addresses Republic
"It will be time to mourn after Victory"
March 12, 3994
Vrassa City, Vrassa District
Interim President of the Republic, Henrietta Allen
The New Interim President of the Republic, the former Foreign Minister of Kalistan and the sister of slain General Henry E. Allen, known as the Hero of Dahriel, was sworn into office today. She takes the place of the fallen President of the Republic, Poppy Smith-Bennots. She made brief comments to the Press, which are transcribed below:
Quote:"Comrades, we are deeply humbled to serve the Republic at this time of grave crisis. As I speak, the Indralan invasion has been turned back, but only for the time being. We have lost a Great President, who put her own life on the line for the defense of Kalistan. We have lost... excuse me... we have lost, my own Brother, who not only defended the lives of the people of Dahriel, but also lost his own on that mountain. Shmee will forever stand as a monument to our fallen comrades and brave defenders of the Republic. But now is not a time to grieve. We will have plenty of time to mourn our losses after we win and drive the invaders from our land. Kalistan must fight as if our lives depended on it. And we shall have the chance. The people of Ananto have given 10 thousand of their own to defend our Republic. And the People of the Mainland Districts must do their Part.
My own faith tells me to seek peace and reconciliation with my fellow man. Yes- even my enemies. Yes- even those who took from me my own flesh and blood. And yet, there is still something I can do, something we can all do. The people of Ananto are suffering. If you can, may we all pitch in to alleviate their suffering. I know- the crisis has taxed ALL Kalistanis. The refugee crisis here on the mainland has ground the economy to a halt as we try to alleviate the suffering of our brothers and sisters who have already come from Ananto. But we can, we must do more. Until this war is finished, and Kalistan is free from the terror of naval guns and advancing soldiers once more. If you have extra food this month, please send it to Ananto. If you have extra cloth this month, please, send it to Ananto. If you have extra metal laying around your house, send it to the scrap heap, so that the war manufacturers can produce more munitions. If you are unattached, please consider going to Ananto and helping us rebuild. All citizens are called to increased sacrifice, so that the burden of those who have been bearing it alone for so long may be a little lighter.
Kalistan will look for a way to end this war. But in the meantime, it takes an entire nation to fight it. Join with me in doing all we can: forego a little of your comfort, because the brave defenders, those who have sacrificed so much and have been entirely cut off from the world, may know that we are all in this together. We will do all we can, so that your President and my Brother may not have lost their precious lives in vain!"
Spokespeople for the President have stated that she will only stand for election until the war ends, and then will retire to allow the Socialist Party to pick a candidate of their choice to run for the office. In the meanwhile, they also pointed out that the President has appointed Davjeet Bhattacharya as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Kalistani Regulars, Militia reinforce Mountain strongholds
Said to be Preparing for Final Assault into Eveari
Near Mt. Shmee, Ananto
February 7, 3995
Kalistani Regulars Reoccupy positions in the Angry Mountains over the Winter
Kalistani reinforcement from the Mainland was completed last fall, and Central and Northern Army Combined forces have moved out of the demolished capital into the Mountains north of the City. Nearly a year after the pitched battle of Mt. Shmee, Kalistani Regulars are on the mountains in even greater strength than before, and are preparing a slow advance toward Eveari and Dulnerstaad. Combined Forces spokespeople have stated that they expect the fighting to be fierce outside of these two cities which have been in the hands of the Indralan Army since the beginning of the war.
Socialist Militia forces bravely regroup on the Slopes of Mt. Shmee
In addition to the arrival and deployment of the Regulars from the Mainland, some Socialist Militia units have been reformed. Most elements of the RSMoK on Ananto took casualties exceeding 80 percent in the Shmee campaign, and so units have been combined and redeployed to hill top fortresses and firebases overlooking the Angry Mountains and the Blue Grass Valley. While greatly reduced in size and strength, the Militia forces maintain their mobility and can continue to act as an Auxiliary for the Regular Force as they advance toward Eveari.
Kalistan reverses many of the gains if the Indralan Invasion
Back on the Mainland, Peace Protests continue and intensify as the war draws nearer to its end. The President of the Republic has gone on record saying she will not seek unconditional surrender from the Indralan Armed Forces, but would consider a negotiated Settlement of the conflict, should an opportunity present itself. Quote:"Kalistan is a peaceful and neutral country. We have only ever called for Justice in Kalistan's case. To show we want peace, it is our hope that when Indrala realizes that their invasion cannot possibly succeed, they meet with our commisars, who will be traveling with the Combined Forces, and who have the power to negotiate a cease fire on Kalistan's behalf, and agree to end this wretched bloodshed once and for all."
Few hold out hope that without a decisive victory by Kalistan, the overtures of the President will be met with anything but a hail of bullets.
