Empress Audrey Abdicates the Throne; Princess Katherine Set to Ascend.
December 5591

Fort William, Luthori -   In an unprecedented event in Luthorian Imperial Family, Her Majesty the Empress (84) has announced on national television during her traditional Hallowtide address to the Nation to abdicate the Throne on the day of her own ascension to the Luthorian and Mordusia thrones on January 26th, 5550. So, she announced that on January 26th, 5592, 42 years after she herself took the throne upon the death of her father, Emperor Charles VII, she would abdicate the position of Sovereign to her daughter and heir, Crown Princess Katherine (58), who will ascend the throne as Empress and Sovereign of Luthori on that date. As stated, the decision to abdicate from the Throne is historic in itself, as no Luthorian monarch since Emperor Edward IV abdicated the Throne, and not for the same reason as what the Empress has today decided to announce as the reason for her upcoming abdication from the Throne. While Emperor Edward IV abdicated the Throne to restore some form of "stability" into a nation plagued by division between supporters of the House of Carrington and the House of Orange-Villayn.

Yet, today, in a shark contrast to this and a sharp break from tradition, the Empress announced that her abdication from the Throne was due to "medical concerns" about her health and the fact that, soon after 42 years on the Throne, she was "running out of energy to diligently lead the Realm" and that she thought that "a younger and sharper head of state was what the Realms needed at the moment".

Upon this announcement, Parliament passed beforehand, an Act reaffirming the Parliamentary loyalty upon the House of Orange-Villayn-Armstead and all its lawful successors to the Throne, as such, Parliament re-affirmed the undeniable loyalty that it holds before the Crown. Prime Minister Warner Reyburn described the Act from the Sovereign to be "extremely courageous", in the sense that it was breaking a century-old taboo about abdication and the consequences of it.

The Orange Palace didn't release any statement about the event, only redirecting journalists towards the Empress' Hallowtide Speech. Rottingham Palace, for its part, where the Princess and Prince of Orange are with their children for the Holidays didn't release a statement either, yet whistleblower seems to agree that the reaction to the Empress' address was mostly positive, but also worried.

The Princess of Orange, Katherine has reportedly already spoke with important members of the Cabinet, the Prime Minister, the Home Secretary and the Foreign Secretary to prepare for the upcoming transition from a reign to another.

The Archbishop of Oalapo has called an "emergency" meeting of all high-ranking clerics of the Holy Luthori Church to discuss the ceremony that are to be planned for the Coronation of the next Sovereign and the reaction of the Church as a whole. Prime Minister Reyburn met with the Secretary of State for the Duchy of Lorcaster to discuss the institutional ramification of such abdication and for beginning the planning of the ceremonies which would officially enshrine into law that fact [Audrey abdicating the Throne and Katherine taking over as Sovereign], as well as the Coronation ceremony.

Luthorian embassies across the Globe were tasked with officially inviting all heads of state and government to the Coronation of the upcoming Empress of Luthori. Prime Minister Reyburn called his Mordusian counterpart to begin the drafting of a common plan to deal with the fallout of the abdication.

Princess Katherine Ascends the Throne; Long live the Empress!
January 5592

[Image: 220910_nwo_charles_king_hpMain_16x9.jpg?w=1600]

Fort William, Luthori - Since Empress Audrey announced that she would be abdicating the Throne, the Luthorian Government has been preparing for this eventuality ever since that fateful speech. Today, on January 26th, 5592, after 42 years of reign over the Luthorian Empire and the Mordusian Commonwealth. The Empress-Emerita, as she's now called, signed the final papers which would officially transfer the titles and competences of the Crown upon her eldest daughter and heir, in other words, signing the last papers which would seal her abdication from both thrones. HM the Empress was the first Luthorian monarch to abdicate her position ever since Emperor Edward IV and the title that would vested upon her due to this was unclear. A sensible proposal was to make the former Empress an "Imperial Highness" and give her the rank of "Empress-Mother" or "Empress-Emerita", but this was rejected by the Luthorian Prime Minister upon grounds that the Empress was styled as 'Imperial Majesty' once, and there was "no turning back from this style of designation."

At the end, the Empress-Emerita was styled as "Her Imperial Majesty, Audrey, the Empress-Emerita" and this title became effective on this day in 12:05 PM, when the final documents were signed. Her Majesty the Empress [Katherine] then was summoned by the Imperial Ascension Council to be formally proclaimed as Empress and Monarch of Luthori. All members of the Privy Council, Justice of the Constitutional Court, the Prime Minister and the Lord President of the Council were present with the latter organising and leading the Ceremony.

The Empress then address a few words to the crowds of dignitaries before taking her leave towards Rottingham Palace. The Empress' Coronation is planned for the 2nd of September 5592.

Quite surprising, in her official title that was read by the Lord President of the Council during the Ascension Ceremony, there was no mention of either "Beiteynu" or the "Holy Land" in any lines of her title, maybe signaling the changing of course of the House of Orange-Villayn in regards to its relationship with the Holy Land, as reports states that the House of Banmek-Sntazed's mandate to rule over the Holy Land was re-affirmed.

The first act of Her Imperial Majesty as the Head of State was to create a new title for the King of Egelion, the Dukedom of Lichfield. That title was seemingly created to "restore ties" between the House of Orange-Villayn (Armstead) and the House of Orléans-Vasser. The Letter Patent of the Sovereign to his Egelian counterpart was sent to the Luthorian Embassy in Egelion to officially announce the gifting. Details of the title were not released by the Orange Palace. Yet, it also seems that the King may be given the rank of "Commander" of the Order of the Purple Pearl.

The Luthorian Prime Minister stated that the Honours List for the Abdication of the Empress Audrey titles that would be given shortly by the Government.

City of Fort William welcomes newcomers; LEA's hold weakened
October 5592

[Image: _130504275_4409c62c-2981-490f-afba-a50518d5d12e.jpg]

Fort William, Luthori - Recently, the Luthorian Empire has seen an increase of its value towards newcomers, especially from the Yeudish Neset. The Luthorian Economic Analysis reported that the arrival of foreign companies into the Luthorian market was a sign of "renewal" of the Luthorian economy. Mostly encouraged by the Department of Justice's actions targeted against the Luthorian Employers' Association, Luthori's largest cartel of megacorporations aimed at protecting its interests and influence in the Luthorian economic and political system, some, although, limited form of installation of foreign corporations into the Luthorian market was observed.

The companies in question came from either Narikaton and Darnussia, with whom the Luthorian Economy Secretary met with its southern counterpart to discuss the relationship between both countries and Pontesi, a nation with whom Luthori entertains limited diplomatic relations.

It was reported by Pontesian media that Thaller-Siran and Derovyan L&T were going to build new factories and bases of operations in Luthori, although, recently, the Lord Mayor of the City of Fort William confirmed that both companies were looking forwards towards buying a location within the City of Fort William to act as their main base of operations in Luthori. According, this time, to Narik-Darnussian media, other companies such as Jamborghini, Thaller Industries and the "Elite Club" social media platform were likely to enter the Luthorian market in the next years, due to the relative liberalisation process engaged upon the economy. That process encouraging some companies to "try" in Luthori.

For now, no other names were stated as being the ones who would try their luck at breaking the untapped Luthorian market, but with N$D and Pontesi leading up the charge towards integration in Luthorian markets, it's likely that Neset-wide (mostly Yeudi) businesses can be encouraged, if a successful integration of Narik-Darnussian or Pontesian businesses in Luthori happens to take place.

In other news, the Department of Justice announced that the preliminary inquiry upon the Luthorian Employers' Association which was engaged in 5590. The DoJ announced that the inquiry was "mostly" successful, thanks to the collaboration of the LEA, yet, they have stated, that while the LEA had shown willingness to co-operate with Luthorian authorities, they would still engage an full-on inquiry, as the courts authorized the case to be taken.

The DoJ announced that a list of 20 company executives had been indicted due to this inquiry.

We were so close, yet also so far ~ Rangers lose the League title race!
June 5593

[Image: 210516183546-alisson-goal.jpg?q=w_3451,h...y_0,c_fill]

Fort William, Orange - So close, we were. Indeed, we were so close of achieving a victory in the First Division. Yet, it seems that hope, that dreams that many Rangers supporters bore in their heart has been bottled by Mr. Azunovich's Team in the last day of the season. As Northminster United, Fort William Rangers and the Alchester Football Club were in the course of the Championship. Before this journey, Northminster United was at 88 points, Alchester was at 87 and finally, the Rangers were at 90 points. They only needed two things, the first being that Northminster United either loses or draw their match again Brownsfield and the other, was to secure a victory against the Martwick Demons. While in theory, that match would have been simpler in different times, this time we have on one side a team fighting for their survival in the First Division and on the other, a team fighting for the first title of First Champions that they would see in 11 years. The result couldn't have been more staggering.

A draw. A simple draw. While it brought the Rangers to a comfortable 91 points, it still wasn't enough, as the match played tonight didn't see any goal being scored on either side, thanks to a restless defence on each side preventing to other from scoring even one simple goal. Ending the match with an unimpressive 0-0. Well, for anything that mattered, for now, Alchester was Champions of Luthori, the first title that they would see in 11 years, right?

Well, no. No. Just no. You see, while the match between Martwick and Rangers was ending, in the other side of the country, the match between Northminster United and Brownsfield seems to have taken an improbable scenario. For much of the 1st period, Northminster United was completely dominated by their adversaries, with Brownsfield taking advantage of the relative weakness of their opponents to score, not only once, not only twice, but thrice. With it, the score at half-time was of 3-0, putting Northminster at 3rd Place, since Alchester and the [Fort William] Tigers were relatively on a razor's edge with Alchester leading the match 1 to 0, putting them at 90 points and the Rangers were having a null against Brownsfield.

Yet, during the 2nd period, everything began to change for the Western club, with Ramsay Adegoke scoring a hat-trick during this period, with a first goal at the '57, then a second goal at the '71 and finally, a third goal at the '89th minute, which in term, lead to the stadium becoming increasingly ecstatic about their chances of victory, with the National Police, at least according to the Police Chief that night, becoming stressed out of an eventual overflow.

Then at the 90+6 minute, it came, Nathan McGee, the goalkeeper, in a right sight, that is, scored the last minute goal, securing his team's victory and their victory of the First Division. It was the team's captain, so many times criticised by the press that came to save them and offer them the title that they've wanted for the whole season. Victory celebrations brook out across Northminster as City and United fans celebrated the victory of United, while some with more difficulty than others. At the very least, everyone was happy that Alchester lost the Title, for the second time in a row.

While the atmosphere in Northminster was prone to party, in Fort William and Alchester it was not the case, but, at the very least, everyone went home with the objective of making a better season next season.

Prime Minister offers condolences; Citadel admits "issues" with Radars; Shipleyriding MP address duchy legislature.
March 5595 (backdated)

[Image: _116409600_seneddgettyimages-674907885.jpg]

Fort William, Luthori - The Luthorian Prime Minister, Dr. Reyburn offered his "thoughts" and condolences towards the Republic of Beluzia's government and the Beluzian people in the aftermath of a devastating air crash in Central Shipleyriding. The Prime Minister held an exceptional three-way meeting alongside the Home Secretary and the Lord Chancellor (Justice Secretary) to discuss the Luthorian Government's response to the before mentioned crash that happened. Beluzian press stated that the Home Ministry and the Justice Ministry have been both contacted by their Beluzian counterparts, and while both ministries having sent their condolences towards the Beluzian nation and its population, while stepping short of giving apologies from the Luthorian Government as they've stated that apologies, if they come, would come from either the Malvin Headquarters (Defence Office) or the Citadel (Defence Staff Headquarters).

Tonight, the Defence Staff confirmed that a "bug" hit their air defence systems, culminating to the unfortunate crash in the Grand Duchy. The Citadel then released a statement apologising for the incident and promising full collaboration for any inquiry that would be made on this matter.

The Luthorian Prime Minister expressed the Cabinet's full sympathy with the Beluzian families that were hurt by the crash by losing one of their members, and promised that the Luthorian Government would begin a process to pass an Act in order to pay some compensations for the families of the victims of the tragic crash.

Meanwhile, the Defence Office announced that the Imperial Air Force would "likely" launch exercises to "test" the Luthorian air defence capabilities in the aftermath of this incident.

In Clamfeld, the Shipleyriding House of Representatives observed a minute of silence during which all lawmarkers observed and paid their respects towards the victims. The Minister-President, Mr. Galliard stated that the Grand Duchy of Shipleyriding was "standing" with Beluzia. The Minister-President also announced the tenure of a memorial service in Clamfeld, the Grand Duchy's capital, where the people of Shipleyriding could also pay their respects towards all victims.

The Minister-President invited Beluzian officials to come at this memorial service and also invited the Luthorian Prime Minister and Members of the Cabinet, something which was well-received in Fort William, with both the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition attending the memorial service, the Empress herself is rumored to come at the service, after already attending Church service which paid respects to the victims of the air crash.

PM congratulates royal marriage; wishes to visit Egelion; Empress address letter patent to Egelian Monarch.
November 5595 (backdated)

Fort William, Luthori - The Luthorian Prime Minister addressed Parliament today during a session of Prime Ministers' Questions. As usual, the Head of Government answered to the questions and concerns of lawmakers and exchanged in a fiery debate with the Leader of the Opposition, George McBride over the question of Luthori's trade interests and his Government's overall policies and standing in today's Luthori. The Opposition calling the Government's long hold on power to be quite "anti-democratic", in the sense that the Prime Minister's long term in Office, alongside most of its government colleagues and the Coalition, prevented the rise of younger politicians when the Prime Minister himself became older and older through the years.

The Prime Minister didn't answer to these criticd, stating that ever since their appointment in 5585, the Cabinet had continued its mission of protecting and leading the Luthorian people towards a new age dominated by stability. The Leader of the Opposition criticized that point of view by stating that if m the Beluzair crash was how the Government was "protecting" its citizens. After a long hour of Q/A between the two men, the Prime Minister, upon request from the Speaker of the Senate, stated some words on HIH, Princess Alice's marriage to King Amadeo of Egelion.

He stated that the Imperial Government "congratulated" the two's wedding and pledges an "increased" collaboration between Luthori and Egelion now that the two royal families, yet, he also confirmed the likeliness of Queen Alice losing her place in the Luthorian Line of Succession, as she married a Egelian Patriarchal, which is stricly forbbiden to avoid any issues with the Sovereign's status as the "Defender of the Faith" and Supreme Governor of the Luthorian Church. Regardless of that, Parliament passed an Motion congratulating the two on their 1 year anniversary of their marriage.

Meanwhile, HM, the Empress released a Letter Patent towards the King of Egelion, gifting him as a marriage present with both a title and residences in Luthori. The Empress gifted the King with the title of "Duke of Lichfield" to be also hereditary. With that title, the King wins the Lichfield Estate, a large mansion in Luthori's countryside, close to Rottingham Palace, in the Grand Duchy of Erneshire. Other than that, the King was also given, for him and his family, property over the Maximillian Manor in the beaches of Middenriding, close to the Artanian Sea. Finally, he was given the title of "Commander" of the Order of the Purple Pearl, Luthori's chivalric order headed by the Knight Marshal, the Luthorian Monarch.

The Luthorian Prime Minister also stated his willingness to make a state visit to Egelion to look towards "increased economic and even military ties" due to this marriage.
