Unsurprisingly, the LSI has recently announced that they would forbid travelling to Pontesi, as well as Pontesians travelling towards Istalia, and blocking trade between the two nations indefinitely. The Istalian communists have been in conflict with the government of Pontesi for some years, and now that the LSI rules in Istalia, they have not doubted in taking measures against Pontesi. The LSI has justified this action by stating that the government of Pontesi poses a threat to Istalia and its proletariat and will enact security measures against any threat coming from Pontesi. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Erminio Boni, declared a few words about this decision:

The government of Pontesi has banned our magazine, arrested innocent Istalians in Pontesi, insulted us, attacked their own people for owning and distributing our texts - we are not going to let the government of Pontesi continue with these actions. Let this be a final warning. We do not trust the government of Pontesi and believe they might be plotting against us and attack us any time. They should be glad we did not directly attack them, but we were kind enough to just cut off any possibility of contact between our nations! Let this reactionary and pathetic bourgeois government rot away, as they are not going to stop the proletarian revolution that is inevitable in Pontesi...

This was met with the support of the Istalian communists and syndicalists. However, the moderate socialists in the LSI, as well as the rest of the population, felt this was going to worsen the relations between Pontesi and Istalia, which have been hanging by a thread ever since the Pontesian government banned the magazine of the LSI, Il Proletario. From Boni's words, it is deduced that this is not done to punish Pontesi, but to warn them to cease of their actions or more radical measures will have to be taken, especially if the Pontesian government threatens the Pontesian proletariat in any way.

Istalia votes to leave the MSCO and plans cutting off diplomatic ties with Beiteynu

Following the warning of the Head of Beiteynu's Medinat Department, Anna Kadiyot, telling the Istalian government to reconsider their "drastic measures", and siding with the Pontesian government after the ban on travel and trade from Istalia to Pontesi, the LSI has begun discussing withdrawing from the Majatran Security Cooperation Organisation (MSCO) arguing that "the MSCO has proved that, other than being a bourgeois and reactionary organisation, it also has decided to turn against Istalia. There is no reason to continue cooperating and allying them." In case of passing, Istalia will leave the MSCO officially in November and will cut any diplomatic relations with Beiteynu. 

According to Casella, we are living in conflictive times where several bourgeois powers are threatening the very existence of the LSI and the international communist movement. The priority should be to safeguard a future revolution, and as Casella argues, "we are not to declare war to Pontesi or Beiteynu, but were they to attack us in any way, they will suffer the consequences of thousands if not millions of angry workers of all our nations that will stand for us and the international movement." Some moderate socialists are worrying that this is going to escalate into a war, but Casella has reassured them by saying that it depends entirely on Pontesi and Beiteynu - Istalia has no intention of going to war with either, but cannot stop a reaction from armed workers if they "pissed them off enough". As a consequence of the possibility of international conflict, Istalia has begun asking the international proletariat to organise against their oppressors and has suggested uniting forces with fellow socialist states - regardless of how critical the Istalian communists must be and have had to be in the past of them. "We face a common threat and I want to believe that, if other socialist states out there are truly representing the working class, will seek to unite with us to protect ourselves from the reaction of the bourgeoisie against the revolutionary nature of the proletariat."

Istalia begins making preparations as diplomatic events threaten its wellbeing

In the past few years, the Istalian government under the LSI has seen a decrease in relations with Pontesi and Beiteynu, which, especially due to the latter, made the LSI consider making preparations for a possible attack from a foreign and even internal group, as well as economic effects on the nation. In order to do this, the LSI has begun a plan for the next few months and years that will help Istalia's economic self-sufficiency (with minimal dependence on foreign nations) as well as army capabilities. 

First of all, Casella and Carboni have been discussing with Publio Carvelli, the Minister of Defense, what to do with the army of Istalia. A few accords have been made: the LSI will not trust government bourgeois institutions like the state and the military-police, therefore a group of armed workers affiliated with the LSI will be created, led by Publio Carvelli. The proletariat affiliated with the LSI will be armed and organised through a slightly but not fully centralised paramilitary group. Proletarians not affiliated with the LSI will not be armed, for fear of not having abandoned their support for the bourgeoisie. Naturally, non-proletarians will not be armed either. This armed vanguard will be placed all throughout Istalia, especially at its borders, owning equipment sized from the military-police, while these are largely relegated from their tasks and assigned more minor tasks, such as paperwork. For as long as the situation requires it, that is, until the international conflict seems to be resolved, this will be how the LSI will organise its armed forces. In order to produce more equipment and ensure this goes to the armed vanguard, war industries will be mass nationalised. Some of these armed workers will also be part of Urban Defense Committees, which will be established in city strongholds of the LSI (for now, Romula and Bescara in Fidelia, and Villanedia and Verunnia in Trivendito). 

Carvelli has spoken on the function and tactics of the armed vanguard: 

Our plan is not to cause a direct confrontation with Pontesi and Beiteynu - or any other nation. We consider that declarations of war are methods of carrying out a rather violent and extreme form of imperialism by the bourgeoisie, desperate in its need to expand their resources. Since our goal is merely to spark up revolutions throughout Terra, we will not fall for imperialistic, bourgeois tactics. Our tactics will consist of what is known as asymmetric warfare: we are not going to use conventional soldiers and tactics, but rather proletarian militias loosely organised by a centralised group to coordinate properly. Guerrilla tactics will be our way to go. We are not seeking to destroy any nation, nor conquer it: we seek to defend ourselves and ensure the proletariat from the respective foreign nations are able to carry out their revolution by remaining alive to protect, aid and encourage them. We hope that the governments of Pontesi and Beiteynu will not resort to war against us, but were they to do it, we will not employ similar tactics, even if it means our demise from disadvantage. I repeat - we are not imperialists.

Additionally, on the topic of self-sufficiency, Casella and Carboni have talked of a plan of nationalisation of industries and farms. All businesses will be run by worker councils that will also be affiliated with the LSI - although the LSI will have no word in their decisions. A focus on war industry will be placed, in order to provide equipment to the armed vanguard without depending on aid from sympathetic nations, or in case there is no nation to aid us. Agricultural collectivisation will be done to ensure we can produce basic needs without the interference and sabotage of foreign bourgeois actions, which the Istalian communists argue that private businesses will likely be untrustworthy during these times as they will likely side with the governments of Beiteynu and Pontesi (and any other bourgeois nations) to sabotage the LSI. Casella has stressed that this would put in place a system of state capitalism, and that this does not signify a dictatorship of the proletariat. Istalia is and will continue being a bourgeois state, but for as long as the LSI rules and this conflict is in place, "the LSI will help the proletariat however necessary for as long as it rules, until the proletariat is ready to revolt and install a dictatorship of the proletariat." They have also in mind trading with like-minded nations, such as Xsampa and Baltusia, especially for as long as Istalia cannot thrive on its own.

Lastly, Casella has sent a message to the international proletariat:

Workers of the world, I am more disgusted than ever from this situation, because I am getting involved in events that might provoke certain consequences that might be detrimental to our cause... Hence why I must send this message to all of you: stand up against your oppressors! Istalia, the LSI will be there to support you however necessary, and we will not be the only ones. If you want to stop this madness, if you want to liberate yourselves from the claws of the bourgeoisie, it is now the time. Do not trust your governments, as they will begin making propaganda against us, painting us as evil, totalitarian, and as the aggressors. You will see, over time, who the real aggressor is. I just hope it is not too late by then. Especially the Beiteynuese and Pontesian proletariat: you are key in this, you must revolt against your governments and seize power! Only the international proletariat, united against the bourgeoisie, can create a new world free of chains and war.

Despite everything, it is unclear how everything will go. Elections are happening in two years from now. If the LSI does not manage to win elections, the Liberals would be able to do away with all these changes and likely negotiate with the governments of Beiteynu and Pontesi, in a way that could even be detrimental to the Istalian communists. However, the LSI has stated that they should not wait for new elections but start as soon as possible with the preparations, as, if they win the next elections, it could be very late to make the preparations effective.

The Lega Socialista d'Istalia rebrands itself as the Partito Comunista d'Istalia

With the official withdrawal of Istalia from the MSCO, as proposed by the Lega Socialista d'Istalia, and the clear gradual escalation of the conflict with the involvement of other nations, many of them choosing to side with the bourgeoisie of Pontesi, the LSI is facing an internal turmoil between the two factions left: the Metzists and the democratic socialists. The latter have been warning the Metzists that they are going too far and might provoke an international conflict, which Casella has answered with by saying that they do not seek to start an imperialist conflict and it will all depend on Pontesi and company. An extraordinary meeting was held to discuss this controversy, which ended up in a heated debate, especially between Casella and a moderate socialist, Leonardo Manna.

Having been accused of secretly seeking to install a dictatorship and start an international conflict, betraying the socialist cause, Manna has called for the Istalian socialists to reconsider the leadership of Casella and the Istalian communists. This resulted in Istalian communists yelling at him and sabotaging his speech. Finally, Casella put order and calling Manna and the democratic socialists a "bunch of bourgeois reformists that betrayed the possibility of revolution and want to continue doing so", the democratic socialists have been expelled from the party in mass, leaving only the Istalian communists in the LSI. In order to avoid opportunists and revisionists to appear again, the LSI has rebranded itself as the Partito Comunista d'Istalia (PCI) and warned that they will only accept revolutionary communists that seek to work towards the advancement of a proletarian revolution, not only in Istalia, but the rest of the world.

Istalian intelligence was misled by communist sympathizers in the Pontesi diplomatic incident, according to a report

The joint investigation launched by the Istalian Ministry of Justice and the Minister of Interior revealed that the Istalian intelligence was misled by communist sympathizers and underestimated the protests against the Pontesi delegation. The report proved that the CCTV footage from the area around the incident had been tampered with, showing instead a video on loop of the same locations registrered days before the attack. The investigators remarked that only people who had access to the security system could be able to put the plan in place.
Moreover, the intelligence noted that the information collected about the possible threat had been deliberately downplayed by some officials in the local police, dismissing it as a routine protest led by the opposition, and the diplomats' schedule given to the police had been manipulated as well, leading to a lack of coordination between the police officers, misleading them to patrol unrelated locations instead.
The investigation deeply damaged the cabinet's reputation as Prime Minister Coralli suddenly faced a turbulent political scandal just months before the next general election. Since the birth of Forum Liberale party, neither Magliano nor Coralli had directly attacked the Lega Socialista d'Istalia, as they sought to avoid escalating the political struggle between the two parties. But that fragile truce, one-sided promoted by the liberals, is already falling apart.

The PCI sends a message to Istalian (Quanzari?) Majatrans

As Ahmadist groups have been, ever since the LSI/PCI won elections last time, causing trouble for the Istalian government, with repeated attacks on communist headquarters. Casella has sent a message to these groups, telling them that Istalia is now focused on building a secular world, and the PCI is specifically taking an internationalist approach, thus opposing any form of religion and nationalism. "As much as you might dislike it, Quanzar is no more and we live in Istalia, but we hope for the eventual abolition of what constitutes as Istalia in the future, with the programme of the Istalian communists. We do not want to cater to any nation or religion. If these Ahmadist terrorists seek to continue seeing us as the enemy, then so be it, we will treat them like enemies. But we want to give them a last chance to realise we do not seek to attack their religion or satisfy either form of nationalism, be it Istalian or Quanzari." The attacks have, so far, only resulted in some injuries and deaths of the terrorists who began the attacks, although were the Istalian communists ready to attack in full strength, it could result in a mass attack against these "radical Ahmadists".

Casella has also warned them, and any counterrevolutionary element in Istalia and the rest of the world, that their preparations have already begun and Istalia will have the capacity to attack, subdue, and sabotage any enemy if deemed necessary, and that they predict the planning will be ready by January 5560.
