The war is over: The Likatonian government declares victory over the rebels

Today after almost 6 years it has been announced that the Likatonian civil war is finally over. In an operation carried out over the last few months by the Likatonian Armed Forces, they have raided several rebel hideouts eliminated key rebel leaders. The LAF have destroyed the rebels capabilities, the fight was tiresome and difficult, but the government forces have finally claimed victory. With the help of 30,000 battle hardened Kundrati volunteers a new offensive in the north was launched this proved to be the pivotal turning point that finally put an end to this protracted conflict. It is believed that the workers movement are continuing to operate sleeper cells, the LAF will work to prevent any possibility of the tyrannical workers movement reemerging. 
We must also remember that whilst we celebrate an end to this conflict, the bigger fight has only just begun. We should also remember those who fought bravely, our fallen heroes. Likatonia has proven once again that there is nothing that we can not accomplish when we do it together. And lets just remind ourselves of what we have fought for, democracy has prevailed, our freedom is preserved. This victory would not have been possible without the courageous and bold leadership of Lionel Crosby and Freya Elliott the wartime president. President Elliott has praised all those who stood with Likatonia against all the odds and has told the chronicle that she and Lionel will soon retire from politics once a suitable successor has been found.

One last hurrah: President Elliott prepares to visit Kundrati

President Elliott prepares for one last hurrah. She is expected to fly into Kundrati shortly and will attend a parade through Kasaema. Fresh from her victory on the battlefield that sent shockwaves through Seleya. The president plans to meet with Supreme leader Sládek to thank him personally for being a true friend of Likatonia. The chronicle spoke with the president earlier today she told us this,

We are all looking forward to this parade and I can't wait to meet my good friend Bronislav once again. Bronislav stood with Likatonia and aided us in our fight against the rebels even when it looked as if all the odds where stacked against us, with Kundrati's help we managed to push forwards to victory. He is a man of great courage and conviction. The alliance between our nations is unwavering, I will also aim to strengthen the special relationship between Kundrati and Likatonia. I know that as long as Bronislav is around Kundrati will continue to prosper and flourish.

Freya Elliott will be remembered as one of the most consequential presidents in Likatonian history. Her presidency at times yes it got off to a rocky start and hit some turbulence along the way, but ultimately she has changed the lives of millions of Likatonians for the better, brought back trust in Likatonian politics and she will also be remembered as a peacemaker. All in all, there can be no doubt that President Elliott led with purpose and compassion.

Stepping up: Kinsley Koch sworn in as president of the United Republic of Likatonia

Kinsley Koch has been sworn in as president of the United Republic of Likatonia and leader of the NDP replacing Freya Elliott and Lionel Crosby. After the war there is a need for deep rooted change in the way Likatonia is operating, Kinsley has praised Elliott for her record and says she wants to continue to build on her legacy. The president arrived to her office at frontier house earlier today and spoke to reporters about her plans for the future of the presidency,

Firstly, I would like to thank Freya for the trust she has placed in me, we see the work that she has done to strengthen our relationship with Kundrati, I will continue to build on the legacy she has left. Elliott led Likatonia with all of her heart for over 30 years, I have served in her cabinet as foreign minister for several years and I am proud to call her a friend. Likatonia will remember those who stood by us as we fought for our freedoms, always.  We're going to assess the current geopolitical situation, but it is likely serious discussions will have to be had with Luthori in particular about our future relationship and position within the commonwealth, we are concerned that the commonwealth has lost its way and has become a tool for Luthori to exert its dominance over us our priority however is to reform the commonwealth rather then abandoning it. For my administration restoring economic stability is a priority, we're going to put a people first approach in everything we do, we're going to create a healthy, liveable planet and finally solve the problem of chronic disease. We've got a lot of work to do but I'm confident we can make progress. After 6 years of conflict we can finally see the light again, this is a turning point, there is hope for us Likatonia.

The new president says she will put people at the heart of everything she does and will lead with compassion. Because we are truly living in a changing world, Terra is no longer the same as it was 50 or even 20 years ago. Kinsley is the right person to lead Likatonia and navigate through this changing world order.

A red line: The LAF is ready to defend Kundrati

Likatonia's President Koch declares Kalistans war on Kundrati is a red line for us in a statement released by her office,

We are all deeply saddened that Kalistan has chosen to take this route, for over 40 years relations with Kalistan have been severed. Kalistans war on Kundrati is a red line for us that should never have been crossed. Likatonia will not hesitate to defend her interests. I have authorised the Likatonian armed forces to take the appropriate military action, we will not go down without a fight. On the commonwealth, we are committed to the commonwealth project, Luthori has said that it is not meant to strong-arm other nations. We were assured that it is not a diplomatic tool for Luthori to exert it's influence over us, can they honestly say hand on heart that they told us the truth. So no, we will not be strong-armed by Luthori or any other nation for that matter. I am ready to visit Luthori and Mordusia at the earliest possible opportunity. We will use every means possible to defend Kundrati and our allies from the Kalistani imperialists.

Once Likatonia and Kalistan where allies and friends, that is little more then a distant memory now. It is symbolic of how far apart the seleyan nations have fallen. Seleya is more divided now then it ever has been. Likatonia will defend democracy and your freedoms to be the person you want to be. Likatonia will defend our allies when they are in need. The rebels may have been defeated, but the war is not over yet. Whatever happens freedom will prevail.

In other news a press statement was released by Likatonia border patrol on an incident earlier today at a border checkpoint,

Today a Kalistani national attempted to cross the border between Valruzia and Likatonia. He was stopped and searched at the border crossing and claimed to be an envoy sent from Kaliburg, he then insisted he be allowed entry and meet with the Likatonian president. The border guards on duty stood firm and told him to return back to Kaliburg and tell them to end the war. We will continue to ensure that Likatonia's borders are safe and secure.

Experts say it is utterly bizarre, but it can ultimately be put down to a significant increase in the number of Kalistani's seeking to flee the autocratic regime of Emperor Fredrick.

The war to end all wars: Thousands deployed to Likatonia-Lodamun border

The Likatonian armed forces has begun its mobilisation efforts. As Kundrati comes under attack on multiple fronts, the Likatonians prepare to step up and do their part to help defend Kundrati from Kalistan and the hands of the tyrannical anantonese empire. Reservists are being called up to active duty and it is expected that the conscription of the civilian population will begin shortly all men of good health between the ages of 27-60 years old will be required to enlist and be barred from leaving the country unless they are an essential worker whose role can not be abandoned or carried out by others. Over 30,000 battle hardened Kundrati volunteers and an additional 40,000 Likatonians are being deployed to the border with Lodamun as we speak. If our adversaries think that we will roll over, they are wrong. The will of the Likatonian people will not falter, the chronicle spoke to general fisher earlier today who explained this,

We will fight until the last Likatonian standing, lets remind ourselves of what we are fighting for our freedom and our democracy. We are clear the enemies of Kundrati, are also an enemy of Likatonia. I know the president will make an appeal to all the peace loving nations of Terra shortly. We will achieve our war aims and we will win. Thank you, that will be all.

Likatonia remains committed to defending Kundrati that is a sacred vow. With Seleya divided and on the brink of another war, could this be Likatonia's last stand. Will this be the war to end all wars?

Clash of nations: Likatonian president denies responsibility for chemical attack on Kalistan

President Kinsely Koch in a press conference, called the accusations circulating in the Kalistani state media that Likatonia launched a chemical weapon attack on Kalistan outrageous and fabricated.

We absolutely deny any involvement in these chemical attacks on Kalistan. These claims are fabricated but this is not surprising from the Kalistani state media which continues to frame Likatonia. Our intelligence suggests Alduria is in fact responsible, this should serve as a wake up call for Terra. We call for Alduria to be held to account for this heinous act and a full, independent investigation should take place.

The president also met with several Kalistani expats today who have fled the tyrannical regime she listened to their stories, one was Evelyn a Kalistani who left everything she had to flee to Likatonia 10 years ago, she told us "my heart is breaking for all those left behind in Kaliburg, there are so many like me who just want to live in peace. Kalistan has no freedom, the emperor is now targeting his political opponents. The Kalistani people are eternally grateful to Likatonia who took us in as one of their own." Yet there are thousands more just like Evelyn who weren't so lucky and couldn't get out. President Koch told the chronicle that she will not allow Kalistan nor Alduria to attack the free and innocent people of Likatonia and Kundrati.

The battle between good and evil: Likatonian president says we are not going anywhere

This is a battle between good and evil, light and darkness. The evil anantonese empire have done the unthinkable, they have attacked the free and innocent nation that is Likatonia. Kalistan and Lodamun do not respect our territorial integrity and is seeking to take us into their empire by force, they will go to any lengths to achieve this. Likatonia remains the last free nation in seleya. All citizens in Norwalk are strongly advised to flee west and seek refuge in Clovisport, buses of civilians have been arriving in Clovisport over the past few days. Likatonia remains truly united. After rumours that the president had fled circulated on social media, the president came out onto the streets of Clovisport, "We are all here, we aren't going anywhere, these attacks on Likatonia will only strengthen my resolve. Be in no doubt that the anantonese empire will pay a very heavy price for there crimes." Seleya has not seen a war on this scale in decades, we must support Likatonia against the tyrannical regimes that want to take your freedom away. Sadly North Bend has already fallen to the empire, we must unite and fight back. There are more reinforcements being deployed to Norwalk, with the aim being to dig in and slow down the enemies advance.

A new chapter: Likatonia backs out of Alliance with Kundrati

In breaking news received just in the last few minutes, the Likatonian foreign minister Rocco Flowers has issued a statement saying that the government of Likatonia has taken the decision to back out of the alliance with Kundrati, Likatonia will also be suspending its trade agreements with Kundrati. Flowers has also called for a lasting peace in Likatonia and an immediate cessation of hostilities.

Good afternoon,
Over recent days, we have spoken to numerous allies in the region about sending humanitarian aid to those affected by the war and to talk about what a post-war Likatonia will look like. I would also like to thank all those who backed Likatonia in our fight against the tyrannical empire. Finally, we have also informed the Kundrati government that we will be backing out of our alliance and suspending our trade agreements with Kundrati. 
Our thoughts are with our troops and all those who fought for Likatonia's freedom. It is imperative that all the peace loving nations of Terra work together to ensure a just and lasting peace in Likatonia.

This is certainly a surprising move from the Likatonian government. Nevertheless, the Likatonian armed forces are and always will be a symbol of hope and resilience to us.

A brighter future: Looking back 10 years after the Likatonian war

Many years have now passed since Kalistani and Lodamese tanks rolled across the border into Likatonia, they left a trail of destruction. Our hearts also break for the Kalistani people they have gone through an immense suffering, Kalistan needs new leadership, the emperor has failed the people of Kalistan. In Norwalk schools, hospitals destroyed, families torn apart and the world was silent. Likatonia will remember those who stood with us always. But times have changed, Likatonia is beginning to rebuild, but not everything can be replaced. As we embark on this new path let us remember in our hearts the warriors of Norwalk. President Kinsley Koch paid tribute to the brave soldiers who defended Likatonia, on the 10th anniversary of the war. She told the chronicle this,

We will ensure that this war will never happen again. We remember Norwalk and I promise you that we will rebuild Norwalk, we will change Likatonia. Likatonia will move forward together, but we will not forget. This was a war to end all wars. My government is working to clear the debris, rebuild the towns and cities of Norwalk.

Likatonians should know that our best days are ahead of us, this is only the start of a new exciting chapter. What's clear is that there is no going back from here, only forwards. Likatonia is the last free nation in seleya. We will become a very successful, prosperous nation. In the garden of life we bloom, like a flower.

National renewal: This is a time for healing 

For centuries the Likatonia people have endured against all the odds. Dream catchers have been used in native likatonian communities for centuries, they can catch and filter out nightmares only allowing the good dreams to filter through. This is a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation and onto us. Likatonia is the last free nation in seleya, our people have stuck together in good times and in bad. It symbolizes our interconnectedness and togetherness. The dream catchers help to channel the positive energy for the community, the web represents the complex web of life. We are going to leave the bad dreams from the past behind, as we look forward to a time of new beginnings and national renewal.
In other news, the Likatonian president says Clovisport is aware of the situation in Valruzia, she calls for a smooth and peaceful transition of power. President Kinsley Koch told us,

Likatonia has always been a friend to valruzia and we will continue to be, it was not too long ago when we had a very corrupt, treasonous president in clovisport and yes I'm talking about the late Bertram Mendelev he was a very corrupt president the worst we ever had, he even tried to throw all his political opponents in jail. But look at us now, democracy has prevailed and we've become a very successful nation.
