Lazar announces Penal reform & de-escalation plans, Chemical-Bio-Nuclear weapons disarmament.

Following intense negotiations between comrade Lazar and the Kalistani diplomatic delegation in Hutori, an agreement has been reached in which all embargos and sanctions from Kalistan will finally henceforth be removed, and all barriers to trade between friendly powers stopped. Comrade Lazar gave a speech in Legionaria,

"The time for peace and diplomacy has arrived, the final victory will be had through reconciliation and new deals. I have announced to my general staff all production of weapons of mass destruction to be halted as we begin making efforts to safely dispose of all chemical and bio concoctions, and what cannot be destroyed safely will be placed in deep storage underground to prevent outbreaks. Our silos will be emptied of the few ICBM models we have completed and become derelict restricted property while the threat of nuclear war retreats from the world stage. Furthermore, Comrade Sladek inherited a nation in deep turmoil with millions of traitors among the ranks, and we have dutifully carried on the penal labor system. However it has become apparent the issue has greatly subsided and we can now begin rolling back on the intensity of our penal rehabilitation centers. Over the years and age of the facilities combined with our economic woes from a hostile terra, many thousands of criminals have died in captivity. I will be closing 25% of our camps, ordering a commissariat review on conditions, and I will be lowering the maximum penal penalty of 25 years to 15 years for worst offenders, and I will grant amnesty to all inmates with sentences or remaining time to be served less than 5 years. Let us continue on the road to reform, glory to the Legionary party!'

South Etxean Investments; A focus on Southern Ports.

The infrastructure efforts by President Dindairu have found success in northern Etxea but they have only focused on rebuilding and modernizing. Now is the time for economic growth when it is vital and the President has begun looking to invest into South Etxea, particularly into ports. Arguing that it'll be safe from the mainland should any crisis erupt (although the president has expressed high confidence that the mainland won't dare to attack under his administration), modernizing, upgrading and expanding southern ports will not only provide jobs (boosting local economies) but allow Etxea to set up basic infrastructure for being a trade hotspot. Not only does it open the door for handling basic trade, but it opens the door for domestic manufacturing even more.

As such, efforts have begun, with the government looking to work with private companies and state companies on developing and expanding ports. When questioned by the press on how these efforts will be paid for, President Dindairu claimed the following.

Look folks, these ports are going to be great. Absolutely beautiful lovely ports for our beautiful hardworking Exteans. We'll pay for these expansions without burdening the innocent and less fortunate. We'll pass a wealth and progressive tax to finance these reforms. We'll create new jobs. We won't turn back on our promises.

While so far, no legislation has been introduced to shape up the taxation system, it is likely to occur in the coming months. In any case, it'll be the coalitions first test as tax reform is always contentious. But for now, the focus will be on the ports. Should Southern Ports be upgraded and invested into successfully, we can expect economic growth at a local level (which can trickle into national growth) via development, job creation, and basic trade.

Daily Bombings on Rebels Announced, To continue until surrender! New ships finished, economic reports made public!

The generous and glorious comrade Lazar approached Etxea with peace offers that were far too generous in our humble opinion, only highlighting the magnanimous feelings of our great leader, yet despite this the foul rebellion of Etxea continued to rebel against the loving breast. No longer shall our people sit idle as the traitors in the south fester and continue to attack Jildrath with terrorism sponsored by Luthori. Comrade Lazar has henceforth announced that everyday, 200 rocket batteries within range of every caliber will fire daily on the Island upon every location until they sue for peace or are annihilated. No more mercy for traitors, no more understanding for the ignorant, we will make them kneel in the name of Sladek, Lazar, and the Legion!

In other news, 12 ships have finished construction in the new Peghonai naval district, we are beginning another 12 constructions as our repaired aircraft carrier from the mad dog sea war once again takes command of the new fleet. We shall defend our vessels from foreign attackers, Kundrati trade will never again be disrupted as we pursue our final victory.

The economy thanks to renewed traded trade has surpassed prior GDP levels of the pre-war levels, we have seen a recent 18% increase in fiscal reports as we build our army for the glorious future. Nobody in our regime will ever face food shortages again, comrade Lazar has liberated us from poverty! 2 million new jobs thanks to the 2nd 5 year plan promises us labor and prosperity!

President Dindairu addresses the nation as the mainland begins daily missile attacks; Troublesome times ahead, for a brighter future.

President Dindairu has given an emergency announcement to the nation in the wake of the Legion enacting daily missile attacks. Emergency Preparation Measures have been announced, with a strict focus on safety preparations. Mandatory trainings on missile attacks, alongside a National Defense Fund which will focus on ensuring every coin produced in the nation is able to go to the EPM. Alongside this, the National Defense Fund will focus particularly on taxing the wealthy to fund defensive means. These defensive means will focus on ensuring casualties are kept to a minimum and damage is limited where possible. It is, ultimately a war of attrition until the Legion runs out of ammo.

Friends. My people. Sons and daughters of Etxea.

This week has been a dark week. We sought to create a free nation here. One where our great workers aren't toiling away for slavers. One where we enjoy democracy and freedom. I won't lie to you folks. The Legion approached us for peace. We thought they could be trusted. Perhaps they would've turned a new leaf. We thought we could ensure peace so our beloved sons and daughters of Etxea never die. The Legion was worse than we thought. Those bastards offered us not peace, but slavery. Davostag betrayal, all Davostagers transit halted, Lazar announces temporary seizure of Davostag mining companies!

Once again our eternal comrade Sladek proves correct, as yet another who we thought friend has become foe. Stabbing us in the back the vile Davostag has halted trade, breaking their deal and sealing the fate of relations. Lazar has announced all Davostagers in Kundrati will be barred from transit, and must remain in their current towns with strict curfews in place, furthermore all Davostager assets built in Kundrati are to be temporarily seized, and if conditions worsen to be immediately nationalized. All necessary steps in order to ensure our security and longevity will continue, immediate rationing as been put in place but thanks to Kalistani aid our stockpiles will last for many months in addition to our harvests. All facilities owned by Davostag that were responsible for distributing aid have been seized by the Commissariat to deny any ability for sabotage until the situation resolves itself.

The traitors in Etxea continue to wither under our continued rocket fire and air strikes, as over 14,230 rockets and bombs have been dropped onto the island. Lazar announced any trade vessels attempting to dock with Etxea will be given a warning over broadcast, and if ignored will be fired upon as aiding and abetting terrorism in an armed conflict. National Alert System to be created; Efforts at emergency shelters begin.

With Etxea under threat, President Dindairu has supported efforts at ensuring safety during these troubling times. As such, the basics. A National Alert System to ensure every Etxean is alerted at a moments notice when missile attacks occur. This will at least keep the population aware and ready for when attacks do occur.

Next, bunkers. Obviously on surface bunkers don't work so well. So the solution? Underground bunkers. More difficult to make, yes but also more durable to missile attacks. As such, efforts will begin on constructing these bunkers when missile attacks aren't occuring. The goal will be to ensure survival and limiting casualties as much as humanly possible. 

President Dindairu has continued reassuring the population with transparency and daily communications. While things look bleak, the government has claimed that there is hope at the end of this tunnel.

General mobilization ordered, nation on standby for war preparations, Lazar refuses satanic ultimatum!

Comrades, Brothers and sisters of the Legionary and one true Kundrati. Davostag and likely other nations in involvement with their regime have sent an ultimatum to our nation demanding that the rebellious traitors in Etxea be spared our righteous judgement. Seeing as this is impossible, comrade Lazar has put our nation into total war status preparing for any incursion or illegal action that takes place militarily. All reservists and men ages 16 - 60 are henceforth to report to their nearest party headquarters or recruiting station for mandatory duty. All civilians not currently enlisted in Legionary Labor Battalions will be given instructions within the week and assigned duties that may include; Mine laying, barricade construction, barbed wire placement, trench digging, and more. Pamphlets on rationing and air raid instructions are to be obeyed, all rations will be halved in the coming months and both coastlines are to be fully manned. Comrade Lazar has also announced all Davostagers to be placed under temporary house arrest leaving only when granted permission as many of them are to be evaluated for mandatory labor duties, failure to obey may result in capital punishment under martial law, remain vigilant on Davostager espionage.

Breaking: President Dindairu calls for a general mobilization order; Vows that the time of vengeance against fascism has come!

The President has ordered an immediate press conference and released shocking news to Etxea. As the Mainland continues to reject peace, even amidst Davostag sending reasonable demands that any sane person would accept, tensions have skyrocketed and Etxea is caught in the middle. After being bombed daily, the time has come. The President has issued a general mobilization order, calling for the military to mobilize and the civilian force to mobilize as well.

These are dangerous times we live in. Our lovely beautiful nation, so very beautiful has been through hard times recently. Those savages across the Strait have shown themselves to only know one thing. Hatred. Hatred for our beautiful people. Hatred for our free democracy! For our free people! Our hardworking people! They have committed their existence to poverty, slavery and enslavement. They look at our island and don't see life. They see numbers to reduce. They bombed us daily. They called for our deaths. For us to be paraded around as if we were tyrants! The time has come to say no more! The Legion, very nasty people will face justice for its crimes. Davostag, a lovely nation, very lovely people, sent an ultimatum after those Legion dogs imprisoned many Davostagers. You want to guess what the Legion did friends? And we will make sure that Lazar ever regretted waking up in the morning! Alongside this, I am ordering the mobilization of civilian forces. Not to fight as conscripts, but to rebuild our island. Our home. Each of you carries the greatest strength of them all. And we must be resolute. In rebuilding our homes, and in fighting fascism! We will march to Legionaria as liberators and return home as heros! It's time to reclaim our homes from fascism!

As such, with a general mobilization order enacted, civilian forces will be mobilized to focus on reconstruction from the missile attacks and supporting our armed forces behind the frontlines. Alongside this, our armed forces will be mobilized to be ready for deployment wherever they may be needed. As the Reclaimation of the Mainland is likely to occur unless tensions somehow de-escalate, President Dindairu has found himself to be a wartime president instead of a peacetime president. Perhaps we shall see how war shapes this administration.

BREAKING NEWS: Etxean Garrison Command declares martial law with the unianimous permission of the Legebiltzarra and the President

With the Hutori declaration of war on the bandits up north, the fate of eastern Artania has changed. For the second time in memory, war has come directly upon the Kundrati.

The near daily bombings from the mainland have somewhat ceased as it is speculated that the mainland was running out of missiles. This is not to mention that the upcoming war will require the Legion to prepare as much supplies as humanly possible, therefore at least for now, the bombardment that Etxeans have known for at least a year has slowed down.

The Etxean Garrison Command, the military forces that operate in Etxea, has reacted accordingly. According to General Julius Alcazar in a speech televised throughout the island, the War Measures Act 5637 was unianimously passed today which meant that the country was under martial law and that habeas corpus was suspended for the period of the war. In addition, elections will be suspended and the military reserves the right to appoint members of the Legebiltzarra if any member were to die or resign. In addition, the Etxean Garrison Command declared that Tiberius Claudius Nero and the current President Aranotz Dindairu will be made Supreme Commander of the Kundrati Union Armed Forces, the latter as per constitutional norms and the former owing to his prior military experience.

The President, Aranotz Dinairu, has confirmed and signed on to these measures. A press conference was also held shortly after the televised announcement where both the President and the former President took questions on what will happen next. The President responded to questions regarding recruitment by declaring that there will be full mobilization and conscription of all individuals aged 18 to 60 for men and women. The President also said that they were opening up Etxea to military troops from Luthori and the so-called coalition of Hutori and Davostag amongst other possible interested nations.

Tiberius Claudius Nero answered several questions about where any invasion of the mainland will come from by saying that it is obvious that the Legion will be surrounded on all sides and that it was even possible that there would be an invasion from Ikradon and Endralon in order to prevent any Legion troops or higher-ranked individuals from escaping to other nations. In terms of plans to deal with the remaining Legionary Navy and the Legionary Air Force he said that he was very confident that the Navy will be destroyed as it was in the first Kundrati War and that the Air Force will be extremely crippled when faced with the might of the modern air forces of Luthori, Davostag and Hutori.

As to questions about what a future united Kundrati will look like, both the President and the former President said that such questions would be dealt with once a unified Kundrati became more likely.

Already at the end of the press conference, one can see huge lines, block by block, leading into recruitment centers. It is to the point where tables outdoors have been set up with tents in order to accomodate the demand. It is clear that the demand to fight exists throughout the island. The President did note, however, that rationing will be expected and that in order to see the Legion glassed live on television one will have to reduce their daily intake and consumption "...because our brave boys and girls will need them for the fight." per him. Official rationing measures have been announced in a followup declaration and ration cards are being printed and sent out as we speak.
