In a shocking move that nobody expected this morning, the Valruzian ministers of Food Sovereignty, Agata Krzycka, and Industry, Trade and Business, Janusz Kostecki, released a joint statement regarding the recent events unfolding around the Migrant's Pass between the 3rd Point Federation (composed by Beiteynu, Malivia, Narikaton and Darnussia, Pontesi and Selucia) and Lodamun, after years of Selucian authorities attempting to impose tariffs on any commercial ship crossing the pass.

The recent events currently unfolding around the Migrant's Pass, with the 3rd Point Federation attempting to disrupt international commerce by imposing inexplicable tariffs to any commercial ship attempting to cross the Pass, highlights how Chancellor Szymon Nowik was right when he proposed and developed the Valruzia 5700 Economic Plan and the Agro-So Initiative, which have shown a reduction in our dependency of other nations and a boost in our national economy. 

The Migrant's Pass is not property of any nation or federation created for the purpose of expanding their territorial sovereignty. The dimensions of the Pass clearly show that it falls under the characteristics of international waters, with the exception of the areas closer to the mentioned nations, which can be defined as EEZ. Any attempt to establish otherwise shall not and will not be recognized as such by the Valruzian government.

For this reason, and citing bad faith, the Valruzian government has decided to immediately stop all commercial relations with members of the 3rd Point Federation (3PF) until further notice. This includes the suspension of all import and export activities, as well as any ongoing trade agreements.

The decision, according to Minister Krzycka, is a necessary measure to protect Valruzia's economic sovereignty and to send a clear message that the nation will not tolerate what it perceives as unjust and unilateral actions by the 3PF.

The abrupt halt in trade is expected to have significant repercussions, particularly for Valruzia's agricultural and manufacturing sectors, which sometimes relied on exports to 3PF nations. However, the government has assured citizens that the Valruzia 5700 Economic Plan and the AgroSo initiative have already laid the groundwork for self-sufficiency, minimizing potential disruptions.

"We have spent years preparing for such a scenario"

Our Agro-So Initiative has strengthened domestic production, and our trade diversification strategy ensures that Valruzia is not at the mercy of any single bloc. Situations like these were why the Valruzian government had been working in these plans".

Critics, however, argue that the move could backfire, leading to shortages of certain goods and higher prices for consumers. Opposition leaders have called for emergency parliamentary discussions, demanding transparency on the government's contingency plans. For now, Valruzian ports have begun turning away 3PF-flagged vessels, and some businesses are scrambling to adjust their supply chains. Valruzia is home to almost 2% of the world population, and the measures now decided by Nowik's government are certain to affect the economies of the mentioned nations, despite their trade already reduced by Nowik's isolationist and protectionist policies.

For the first time since the return of democracy, Valruzia's right-wingers have managed to win a state institution, after lawyer Szymona Razem won last night's presidential election as part of the “Forward Valruzia” coalition.

“Forward Valruzia”, the name given to the union of National Renewal, National Salvation and Agrarian Voice created to compete in the presidential elections, chose Szymona Razem late last year as its unity candidate, after noting that a separate turnout augured an almost certain victory for Katarzyna Roszkowska, the former Marshall of the Sejm and Sovereign Valruzia candidate, according to polls.

After a first round in which turnout stood at 76.7%, the Forward Valruzia (33.59%) and Sovereign Valruzia (26.64%) candidates advanced to the second round, while the candidate chosen by the Communist Party of Valruzia to try to fill Karolina Pietrzyk's absence for the presidency had to settle for just 19% of the vote, insufficient to advance to the next round.

Although in this first round the candidates in favor of the current government (SW, KPW and Dignity and Progress) obtained a percentage of votes higher than 50%, the second round has left these parties in shock, after official authorities announced that with 99.99% of the votes counted, Szymona Razem (Forward Valruzia) had won against Katarzyna Roszkowska (Sovereign Valruzia) with 50.09% of the votes (34,284,329 votes).

While on the right they celebrate the results - although Valruzian Alliance, which did not participate in the electoral coalition, calls for “a real conservative presidency” - in the government they are still trying to assimilate the hard blow. The drop in turnout - which in the second round was barely 68%, a considerable decrease in comparison with the first round and, above all, with the previous presidential elections - is one of the factors blamed for this result, although Sovereign Valruzia also points to the bad management of Pietrzyk's exit as another cause of the drop in turnout and, above all, of the abstention of many PKW voters who did not want to “support the Sovereign Valruzia candidate”.

declared Ksenia Brosz, leader of National Renewal and former deputy chancellor of Valruzia.

"We have shown that this nation knows how to choose wisely, and that the citizens are not happy with this government."

However, sources close to Chancellor Szymon Nowik affirm that he "is not worried about the results."

"A presidential election cannot be transferred to a legislative election. People vote according to other logic, other patterns, and knowing what a president can and cannot do. The important thing is that just a year ago, the citizens of Valruzia gave the current government and its supporters more than 55% of the vote, and we, as a government, will continue working for the well-being of our citizens".

Some analysts also believe that the Nowik government's recent decision to halt all trade with the 3PF countries also influenced the elections, with many citizens fearing that this could affect the economy. However, the government also rejects this hypothesis, arguing that its candidate received only 100,000 fewer votes than the winner and that the decision had the desired effect, with Selucia announcing the elimination of fees on the Migrant Pass.

"I congratulate Szymona Razem on her victory in the presidential election and look forward to continuing to work with her for the future of Valruzia, continuing the legacy left by her predecessor,"

was the brief message posted on social media by Chancellor Szymon Nowik, with a mention of Karolina Pietrzyk.

Sources close to Nowik believe that most of the blame lies with the PKW, whose internal division following Karolina Pietrzyk's announcement of her cancer diagnosis has led to a loss of public confidence, especially following the Communists' decision not to nominate Sejm Marshal Tatjana Borkowska, considered to be Karolina Pietrzyk's continuation candidate.

With the election of Szymona Razem as President of Valruzia, it is almost sure that Pietrzyk's proposal at a presidential reform will be abandoned, and some sources speculate that she will use her position to attack the government and attempt to propose national referendums at any major decision by the Nowik's government.

Despite same-sex marriage not being legal in Valruzia - and with Chancellor Szymon Nowik to be blamed for that - official pictures just released today have officially announced the engagement of Nowik with his longtime partner Mateusz Gawryś, putting an end to months of speculation about the status of their relationship. The shocking news comes just three years after rumors of a breakup surfaced when Gawryś was photographed in an intimate moment with an unidentified woman on a Kampanian beach.

The couple, who was previously considered one of Valruzia’s most prominent same-sex power duo, had faced public scrutiny following their apparent separation in 5638. At the time, insiders suggested that tensions had been building due to Nowik’s refusal to push for legal recognition of same-sex unions - a stance that alienated many in the LGBTQ+ community who had once seen the couple as symbols of progress. However, official confirmation was never given, nor explanations about this mysterious woman have ever surfaced.

Now, with the release of this formal engagement portrait, the pair seems to have reconciled, though questions remain about the status of their relationship at this moment. Nowik, who faced criticism for his government’s inaction on LGBTQ+ rights - and especially now since he was been in power for more than a decade -, now finds himself in an awkward position. While he prepares to formalize his own relationship, some queer activists and LGBTQ+ organizations are demanding answers as to why has his administration failed to legalize same-sex marriage. Some speculate that this personal milestone could pressure him into finally addressing the issue, taking now into account that, like last time when Nowik legalized same-sex civil unions, the Communist Party of Valruzia is the kingmaker. 

Political analysts suggest that the engagement could either rehabilitate Nowik’s image among progressive voters or further damage his credibility if no policy changes follow. "This is a test of sincerity," says Marta Zielińska, a political commentator. "If he truly values his own union, why won’t he want to extend that right to others or to himself by legislating in favor of same-sex marriage?"

The road to this engagement has been anything but smooth. Following the 5638 scandal, Gawryś withdrew from public life, while Nowik immersed himself in work, avoiding questions about his personal life, and ended up winning the latest elections with almost 37% of the vote. Yet, behind the scenes, sources close to the couple suggest that private conversations and personal reflection ultimately led to this reconciliation.

"Mateusz needed some time away from the spotlight, and Szymon had to reevaluate his own political stances and preferences" revealed an anonymous friend of the couple. "This engagement is, in a way, a kind of silent statement about their private life".

Although the union seems like it will be a close and private event, some sources close to the couple say that among the invitees will be Empress Mary I Ananto of Kalistan, with whom Szymon Nowik has developed a close relationship since both countries formalized relationships following the restoration of the Valruzian Republic.

With the beginning of a new scholar year, Chancellor Nowik has launched a landmark National Education Transformation Act, a sweeping comprehensive reform that not only guarantees tuition-free universities but also overhauls schooling from kindergarten to high school. The move fulfills a key promise of the agreement between the KPW and Sovereign Valruzia, aiming at building a "robust public system designed to strengthen equal opportunities and national sovereignty".

Major keypoints of this Act include the elimination of tuition fees at all state-funded university institutions while at the same time increasing the requirements for private universities to be founded in Valruzian soil and the creation of a nationwide network of state-run preschool centers to ensure "family conciliation" and to "fight inequality from the cradle". The government has also negotiated with school and high school teachers a 15% salary increase over three years, and a 20% in the case of university professors who undergo research projects while working at the same time.

Although the Act still leaves room for some private schools, the government will make mandatory to follow at least 65% of the new National Curriculum, which will be made after meetings with education authorities and experts from the respective fields, including scientists, historians, philosophers and others, but will leave religion out of the curriculum. At the same time, no new private schools will be allow to open closer than 1km from the nearest public school. 

Following with the special attention Nowik has been given to rural Valruzia in latter times - firstly with the AgroSo initiative - the Nowik government has also announced their intention to collaborate in "Rural education expansion", overseeing a project to open 500 new public schools across the whole Valruzian territory in the more rural regions, targeting the "forgotten Valruzia".

Nowik, speaking at a Uniatow school, his hometown, framed the reform as a defence against foreign influence:

"We want and need critical thinkers and skilled workers, because an educated society is more difficult to corrupt and bribe"

Reactions to the announcement of this new Nowik initiative have been mixed but mostly positive, with education unions calling it "the biggest victory since democratization". On the other side, National Renewal has dismissed it as "populism that will scare away investment" and accusing Nowik of being "fiscally irresponsible", wondering where the money would come from for all the "free projects", while the Valruzian Alliance has called it "a blatant attempt at shaping our youth in Nowik's own ideology, including his own concept of gender ideology". However, public opinion remains highly in favor of the proposal, with 72% backing free universities, although the new curriculum idea is more divisive (35% oppose).

According to the government, the program will also create new mechanisms to motivate young generations to go and work in the countryside, by creating new university degrees tarteged for that aim.

Just one week before the announcement of the Act, Chancellor Nowik was living another dream, as he officially married his longtime partner, engineer and social personality Mateusz Gawryś, with whom he reconciled after an apparent breakup three years ago.

Among the guests we could see Empress Mary I Ananto of Kalistan and his recently wed husband, Martin Collins-Ananto, a wedding both the Chancellor and his partner attended just a month ago and which highlights the close relationship between both mandataries, as the four of them shared long conversations and jokes during the celebrations afterwards. Other special guests included Valruzian actors Rafał Slazak, Marcel Kopański and Aleksandra Turczyn, as well as former President of Valruzia Karolina Pietrzyk - who is ongoing a breast cancer treatment but wished to be present.

She has barely been in office for half a year, but President Szymona Razem, elected as the candidate of the conservative Forward Valruzia coalition, already hints that she will not give the government of Chancellor Szymon Nowik a quiet mandate. Today, we had an exclusive interview with her, to get to know better our second President of the nation, elected to replace Karolina Pietrzyk just in March of this year.

Interviewer: Good morning, Mrs. Razem, it's a pleasure to be with you today. Let me start with a funny question: Apart from the name, is there anything you and Chancellor Nowik share?


Szymona Razem: Well, don't you think I haven't been told that a few times (laughs). I am sure that, apart from our love for Valruzia, we have much more in common than people might think, although unfortunately I have not been able to find out since since I have been in office, the government has hardly had any contact with me beyond what is indispensable for the proper functioning of our institutions, and little else. And it is a pity, because I am sure that with [Karolina] Pietrzyk the situation was not like that.

I: Speaking of President Pietrzyk, what is it like to succeed someone with such popularity, who only did not run in the elections because of her illness, but who was virtually assured of victory by all the pollsters?


S.R.: People have to get over it. The elections have already been held, the people have already voted, and as a result, I am now in this very important position. There are some people who, out of sectarianism, have not yet been able to digest the fact that I won the presidential elections instead of their favorite candidate. I don't know if it is because I am a woman, because I am a conservative, or because of both at the same time. But I am much more than a puppet and of course, to say otherwise is pure misogyny. I have my own criteria, my own ideology and my own ideas, and I will not stop defending them. Moreover, I will tell you one thing: in the first and second elections, I voted for Pietrzyk. And I do not regret it. Few people know that I was one of the lawyers who defended many of the victims' associations in the trials against the Morawski dictatorship, so my commitment to democracy I think is undeniable.

I: And how did you decide to run for office?


S.R.: Well, as I said, I think Mrs. Pietrzyk was doing a good job. If she had run for her third term - and I wish her a speedy recovery from her illness - I certainly would not have taken this step. But there are things to change, and when the Forward Valruzia coalition proposed the idea to me, I accepted. Would I have done the same if PKW had proposed it to me? Well, maybe yes. It is the parties that have to study the candidates they are going to propose, but besides, from the beginning I made clear to the coalition my red lines and what I wanted to do. If they did not agree with it, I would not be the candidate. But they accepted, and we see the results.

I: Are there any specific projects you have in mind?


S.R.: Of course I would like to make an international tour of Seleya: Lodamun, Mordusia, Kanjor, Baltusia, Tukarali, Kalistan, Likatonia... there are so many nations in our continent with which I think it would be good to strengthen ties, although it is true that progress has already been made with some of them. However, it remains to be seen whether the government will allow me to do this, as I think it is evident that they have a radically different vision of international relations and how to attract investment to our country, which in my humble opinion, is wrong.

I: You, who were born in the same year as President Pietrzyk, were also one of the last graduating class of university women before the Morawski dictatorship banned women from higher education. What do you think of the government's recent plan to make university studies free of charge?


S.R.: I think it is counterproductive. It is a populist measure, but when it comes down to it, it does not correspond to reality. Where is the money going to come from to pay for the studies of all of them? Of course, from the taxpayers' pockets. Unfortunately, the concept of “free” does not exist. We are all going to pay for this, and as President, I will present an amendment to this law to try to modify it.

I: Many people think that, since the parties that make up Forward Valruzia (National Coalition, National Salvation and Agrarian Voice) are far from having a sufficient parliamentary majority to oppose the current government, you are their “Trojan horse” to attack the government.


S.R.: I make my own decisions. Nobody tells me what to do, because I made it clear from the beginning that the main thing for me was autonomy. Now, of course I have my own ideology and of course I have my own political agenda, and I, like the government, was also elected to carry it out.

I: One last question: Have you thought about running for a second mandate?

S.R.: [chuckels] We are only barely six months into my first term. Let's make it first until the end of the first mandate and then, we will be able to discuss that. But I'm not closing any doors yet.

Szczepan Morawski, the iron-fisted ruler who dominated Valruzia for nearly three decades during its most recent darkest authoritarian period, was found dead in his prison cell this morning at age 95. The former dictator, who was serving a life sentence "for high crimes against the nation, against humanity, and against the democratic order of the Republic", died of natural causes according to preliminary prison medical reports, although the official report will not be made public until a few months later.

News of Morawski's death triggered immediate celebrations in Nowogard and other major cities, with crowds gathering to chant "Justice is served!" and "The tyrant is dead!" - a stark contrast to the fear that once accompanied the spirits of the Valruzian people before his eventual downfall. 

Morawski seized power in 5592 through a military coup, successfully establishing a regime marked by political purges and executions of dissidents, suppression of free press and opposition parties and economic policies that collapsed Valruzia into poverty and sold it to foreign agents. However, his rule ended in 5624 after the 5623-5624 Valruzian protests, when mass protests and military defections forced his eventual surrender.

While many citizens are celebrating the passing of the late dictator, human rights groups emphasized the importance of remembering and not forgetting his victims. "His death doesn't erase the scars of thousands of families" said Marta Kowalska, of the Valruzian Memory Foundation.

The government has announced that Morawski will be buried in an unmarked grave, denying requests by far-right groups for a state funeral. Chancellor Nowik stated simply: "History has rendered its verdict". Valruzian Alliance, considered by many as a covert nostalgic party of the regime, has called on the government to celebrate a State funeral, decrying the decision as "a humiliation of our national history". Deputy Chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Robert Sobieraj posted on social media a simple message, saying "GOOD.", which in just a few hours had already gathered more than a million shares. When asked about that, Minister Sobieraj simply said that he had just heard about a "very good story" happening that same night.

President Szymona Razem issued a official statement, calling on the nation to "heal, advance and not forget nor rejoice in the Valruzian past", a statement condemned by some as "too light" on Morawski's terror era.

The government of Valruzia has announced plans to construct a monumental tribute to those who fought and perished in the name of freedom during the Valruzian, Baltusian, and Tukarese revolutions, as well as the countless victims of the oppressive regimes that once ruled the three nations. The proposed "Monument of the Fallen" would stand at the tri-border area between Valruzia, Baltusia, and Tukarali, as a symbol of unity and shared sacrifice.

"This monument aims to honor the bravery of citizens who rose against oppresion, as well as those who suffered under authoritarian rule."

has stated the Valruzian Foreign Ministry. Valruzian officials have emphasized that this project is shall stand as a regional commitment to remembrance and reconciliation. The chosen site is a strategic and symbolic point where the borders of the three nations meet (see map above), and would welcome visitors from all around the three nations and outside of them.

While the exact design has not yet been finalized, Valruzia will also invite its neighbors to contribute ideas, ensuring the monument reflects the shared history and values of all three nations. For this purpose, Valruzia will formally present the proposal to Baltusia via the first official visit of Valruzian government officials to the now democratic nation, that has hosted its first free elections since the fall of its regime and which Valruzia has officially recognized; and Tukarali via its ambassador in the southern neighbour, seeking their approval and cooperation. If accepted, the three nations would begin a public process for all citizens from the three nations to propose ideas, as well as create a regional register of the victims and their names.

Although the characteristics vary in their core ideologies - the Morawski dictatorship in Valruzia was right-wing of nature, while the Tukarase and Baltusian ones had more left-wing similarities - the Valruzian government led by Szymon Nowik does not want to focus the monument in this issue, but rather in those "who chose to defy an authoritarian rule in the search of a better future for their families and friends".

The 20th anniversary of the 5623-5624 Valruzian protests is approaching, while the Tukarese is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary and the Baltusian is just born; the three of them have come to be known as the North Seleyan revolutions, and have inspired other revolutions around Terra such as the democracy movements in Utaristan and Solentia.

Leaked documents show talks between Amudim authorities and Valruzian presidency to relocate Yeudi citizens

Documents were made public this morning certifying the existence of talks between the Valruzian presidency and Amudim authorities to “promote and encourage” the “relocation” of Valruzian citizens who identify themselves as "Yeudis". According to the latest official surveys of 5640, Yeudism is the second most followed religion in Valruzia with 15%, behind Hosianism (30%) and at a great distance from the prevailing irreligious position (52%).

According to the leaked documents, in return there would be an offer from the Amudim authorities to cede to Valruzia a favorable liquidation or capital tax alleviations for the transfers in regards to their assets. The leak, which occurred just a few hours before the monthly government control session in the Sejm, occupied a large part of the discussion in parliament, with accusations and reproaches from the political parties present in the chamber.

Moments before the control session, the office of Chancellor Nowik announced the immediate dismissal of the Minister of Migration, Wiktoria Kulbacka, who appears as another of the Valruzian authorities, together with the President, involved in the negotiations, in addition to announcing an investigation in all ministerial departments in order to determine responsibilities.

"[Szymon] Nowik is tremendously pissed off" say sources close to the Valruzia chancellor "For someone who is quite obsessed with controlling what happens around him, the fact that something like this happened under his nose without realizing it is a hard blow, and one that may splash back on himself. The President's actions behind the back of the government are of extreme concern and need to receive the highest condemnation". 

During the control session in the Sejm, the leader of the opposition Ksenia Brosz, from National Renewal, accused the government of “anti-yeudism” and of targeting “millions of Valruzia citizens”. On the contrary, the Chancellor himself took the floor to reproach that the most implicated in the scandal is the President of Valruzia herself, Szymona Razem, whom he reminded that she was elected to the post as a candidate of the coalition formed by, among other parties, National Renewal. Moreover, Nowik has announced that he will propose to the Sejm to initiate the procedures for the dismissal of the President as provided for in the Constitution of Valruzia, for which 2/3 of the votes in favor (401 votes) are required, and where the post would be occupied on an interim basis by the Marshall of the Sejm until new presidential elections are held in four years. However, it is not clear that the impeachment motion can succeed, since the parties that have announced their vote in favor - Sovereign Valruzia, KPW and Dignity and Progress - have a total of 385 votes, so they would need at least 16 votes from a member of the Forward Valruzia coalition - National Renewal, National Salvation or Agrarian Voice - or more improbably from the far-right Valruzian Alliance. The latter have stirred up controversy once again by claiming that the President's actions “were not misguided” and that the Yeudi “are not really Valruzian citizens, but external agents to destabilize our society”.

"This government has acted swiftly. The Minister of Migration has already been dismissed from her position, I have launched an investigation in the rest of the ministerial cabinets and I am proposing the dismissal of the President for these serious acts against our citizens. Now, from the opposition, what exactly have they done? Did they not do a deep research in their own candidates to see that President Razem is a blatant antiyeudist?".

As the Valruzian political crisis escalated during the day, President Szymona Razem broke her silence in a televised address, denying any wrongdoing and insisting that the discussions with Amudim were "exploratory talks" aimed at addressing "mutual economic concerns", not a formal agreement.

"At no point did I, or any member of my office, endorse or approve any policy targeting Yeudi citizens"

Razem stated.
