Bianjie condemns the illegal and undemocratic coup in Vascania, urging "return to normalcy"

Morning after the coup d'état in the geographically close to Bianjie nation of Vascania, the ministers of defence and foreign affairs, Ajige Barra and Chuoqui Nioyan, respectively, alongside the nation's head of government, Premier Abatai Soca, held a joint press conference in the MOFA's press conference room in Gemun.

Premier Soca began the press conference by unanimously condemning the suspension and dissolution of the Vascanian democratic institutions, calling it "illegal and alarming", urging the military, led by Prime Minister Vikas, to "return to normalcy", and resolve the issue by talking to the democratically elected opposition representatives and leaders. "We think it would be much more productive for the Vascanian government to cooperate with politicians across the aisle, instead of unwarrantedly painting them as 'sympathisers of the Xsampan plague".

Foreign minister Nioyan said her office is in close cooperation and contact with Xsampan counterparts, coordinating joint response and efforts to either sanction or bring more attention to the evolving situation in Sovereign Sea. At the same time, minister Nioyan has called all Bianjie citizens currently residing or located on Vascnian territory to leave the nation as soon as possible, with MOFA assisting the compatriots, if required. "We are unable to ensure the safety of our citizens in a place that is currently uncontrollable and unstable, hence why we are calling everyone to leave. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will help all fellow Bianjians no matter what", said the foreign minister Chuoqui Nioyan.

Ajige Barra, the defence minister, said that the Armed Forces have been alarmed and have begun preparations for all kinds of scenarios that may occur sooner or later. Barra confirmed that, similarly to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MOD has been in close contact with its Xsampan counterpart, discussing current and future actions, and whether there must be patrolling in the Sovereign Sea: "It is important to mention that we are not looking to escalate the already tense situation even further, but at the same time, one must understand that such an unprecedented event requires our full attention and certainty in being able to defend ourselves no matter what."

Leaders of the Democratic People's Coalition and localist parties announce the national merger talks

Leaders of four right-of-centre political parties: Bianjie Democratic Action, Party for the People, Innovation Party, which make up the opposition Democratic People's Coalition and Northern Solidarity, a local regionalist party running primarily in Bianjie's northern provinces, have all announced today in a joint press conference held in Niyalma, that the parties they lead have entered a first round of negotiations to unite into a single political formation.

For a couple of years now, numerous discussions have taken place about the potential for a united centre-right party, both privately within the parties and publicly in the national and local media. Many party members, especially those of the BDA, have long complained about the DPC's inability to deliver victories for the right-of-centre, both nationally and locally. Leaders of the opposition coalition have reportedly been distancing themselves from one another and the DPC after the latter's heavy losses in the most recent general election. But this time, holding a surprising joint press conference for the first time since the election, leaders of the BDA, PFP and INP, as well as the NS, affirmed their mutual vision and commitment to forge a "true common front" ahead of the next electoral campaign in two years.

"This is the beginning of something greater than any one party," said Oboi Dolok, leader of Bianjie Democratic Action, the largest of the four forces. "For years, the opposition has been fragmented, even within the Democratic People's Coalition, and that has only helped to prolong the dominance of the purple regime machine. But today, we take a step toward offering Bianjie a genuine and serious alternative, one which is rooted in accountability, respect for our provinces, and responsible fiscal policy. No more reckless populist spending. Realist approach to governance is the way to go!"

The inclusion of Northern Solidarity in the upcoming merger marked the first instance of localist politics represented at the national level in recent history. However, NS, which is a centrist party on its own, has long been cooperating with BDA, PFP, INP and the DPC as a whole in provincial and communal elections ever since its creation in 5632. Party's participation in the announcement was explained by its leader, Kun Zhang, as a "clear commitment to giving a voice to the common folk", while political pundits describe the move as an attempt by the DPC leadership to enter rural voters' base, beyond its traditional urban and business electorate.

According to Ebilun Tegi, leader of the Innovation Party, merger talks will be held regularly over the next couple of months, with a focus on issues such as policy unity, leadership structure, something which has been an issue for many within the DPC. "We do not share 100% of ideas, policies and sentiment on all issues, absolutely. But what we aim for with this is the elevation of what does unite us into a cohesive and truly presentable platform for people to vote for, to show that we are ready to govern, not just be the opposing side", said Tegi.

Pinggu Shugiya, a pop and rock queen and one of the most decorated Bianjian artists in recent history, together with a legendary lead vocalist of the Fudasi Comcok (Rebellious Bunch) band, Alin Naiki, recorded a joint song "The Beast Underneath", which, according to Shugiya, is about how crazy but exciting life is for humans.

Ever since Shugiya posted on Hatoyu a video of her in the recording studio, with the screen showing "naikivoice2.mp3" file, many fans were, quite frankly, going crazy online, discussing the video to the slightest detail, what kind of song would the collaboration between the two major Bianjian artists be, how did it even come to the point that two well-regarded musicians decided to record a song together, but in the end, most were simply excited, especially as neither Pinggu or Alin gave any clues or information about the song up until its release on Miru video sharing platform.

From its very first notes, The Beast Underneath invites the listener into a world both strange and intimate. The song opens with Alin’s signature raspy voice, before melting into Pinggu's delicate layers of almost whispery harmonies. There is something feral here, coming from Alin, and yet deeply human, coming from Pinggu: a soundscape that feels like wandering through a fever dream of memory and instinct. And despite all that, the song really gets you moving, pretty much like it does both in the music video.

Talking about the music video, just like the song, the MV is full of everything everywhere all at once, as some may say. Dance, snow, traditional clothes, set in a tunnel with a huge mirror, reflecting the very same two sides of life, is all a very great representation and signature style of Pinggu and her whole discography. Fans have taken to social media with raw interpretations of the music video, with some seeing the song as a metaphor for mental health, others for cultural memory, and still others for queer liberation, and it does not help when Shiguya said that she will leave the lyrics and MV "up for personal interpretation".

A week after the release, critics have already called the song one of the most important cultural collaborations of the year, even with just a month and a half left before the year ends. Many debate that Pinggu might have to wait a bit longer to win any awards for the song, especially the Kumun Award, as the song is released in November, when most major awards have closed their applications, but it is still expected that any Pinggu song will be rewarded highly regardless, as it already has been charting in the first place for a week now.

Energetic new centre-right party leads the opposition to its best result in 15 years

GEMUN: It has been 15 years since the right-of-centre opposition had somewhat good results against the raging socialist machina, led by the Alliance of Three, also known as the Democratic People's Coalition. And many had questioned the ever-decreasing election results and representation of the opposition forces in Yuan being led by the DPC, and thus, back in September 5661, leaders of the three major parties, including one northern regionalist one, announced that all four of them would be merging into a new united party, which they would later call Democratic People's Party, led by then-leader of Bianjie Democratic Action, Oboi Dolok.

Energised by the new and fresh blood within the party ranks, new faces and a new programme, the new DPP started to grow in popularity, both in terms of membership and polling. The fatigue from the fifteen-year rule of Abatai Soca began to feel amongst the citizens, voters and, evidently, the Socialist People's Party itself, as Premier Soca had announced a year and a half prior that he would not seek a fourth term, citing health and age concerns, as the leader of socialists would be 90 by the end of 5663-68 years, if re-elected. SPP leadership election in June last year has resulted in the mayor of Gemun, Ajigen Kode, being elected as the new leader to steer the party for the new election in 5663. The same year, Kode, as the new leader, negotiated with the New Dawn party, which was the second junior partner in the previous Soca and Jalar governments, but lost Yuan official party status after it fell below the threshold in the last election. Socialists convinced New Dawn to merge into them, citing "the need to unite in the close and contested electoral system". Many within the party protested that decision, leaving the party, defecting to the PCP or creating a new one; however, those attempts have been rather useless and dead on arrival.

Leading up to the election in April, it was increasingly evident that the Socialist-Communist coalition may face a challenge from the opposition parties, with increasing chances of losing the majority overall. For the first time in a long time, the Socialists were leading the closest opponent by less than 10 points, while the PCP was losing support equally, but remained the third largest party. However, once the first preliminary results were announced, it was certain that the governing coalition had retained its majority, but much weaker, with just 121 seats out of 229 total, and 135 compared to the socialists' record electoral victory in 5658. Leader of the SPP, and incoming Premier Ajigen Kode, thanked the voters for "choosing stability", emphasising that her party will look into the reason for the declining vote share, adding that the path of her government will remain unchanged compared to her predecessor, keeping and strengthening focus on the economy, people, international relations and stability.

On the other side, right-of-centre opposition forces celebrated, but not with the euphoria one might expect from a movement that has seemingly risen from the dead. The DPP, echoing the "success" of its coalition predecessor in 5648, initially lost that election but maintained a strong opposition stance. Now, the newly formed DPP, with 83 deputies in its parliamentary group, presents a more formidable challenge to socialists in Yuan and in future elections. The leader of the Democrats recognised this, stating during his election night speech that "the journey towards premiership only began".

Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announces the formation of a banking institution to support the farmers and their businesses

When running for yet another term in office last year, the representatives of the governing Socialist People's Party introduced a detailed step-by-step action plan to support the rural economy of Bianjie, saying that its stability and development are "vital" for the prosperity of the Dovanian state. Entering the office, the new Premier, Ajigen Kode, Tulišen Siang, nominated the Vice President of the All-Bianjie Farmers' Federation (or Zennoren), Bianjie's largest farmers' trade union, as the new Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. According to Premier, Siang's experience in ABFF as the reformist leader was very important in preparing SPP's program, and will be crucial in implementing it alongside the new government.

And thus, being appointed as the new agriculture minister, Siang has announced at a joint press conference with the ministers of finance and economy, trade and industry, Marsai Aturamo and Eidu Baijin, respectively, the creation of a "banking institution" aimed at providing financial support to the Bianjie's rural economy and workers. Agricultural Development Bank or Nokaigin, according to the document released by the government, outlining the vision of the new institution, must become the largest state-owned non-central bank in Bianjie, giving out loans to villages and towns, as well as separate businesses, small and medium, located and operating in rural parts of the country.

Ruogang Hou, MARA's nominee to become the inaugural Governor of the ADB, said that in accordance with the vision of the agriculture ministry and the State Council, Nokaigin is expected to give out loans to the previously mentioned local governments or SMBs with a strategy of group guarantee, meaning groups meaning that groups of households have joint liability for the loan, while retaining the ability to receive an individual loan. "The reason why we are going for the group guarantee strategy at the foundation of Nokaigin, is because in our vision of a proper state-owned banking institution that is supposed to help people, lays the idea that the joint responsibility and liability is the way for not only the economy, but society in general", said the Governor-designate Hou. "But also, it is the risk management. We want this to be successful, as much as we don't want the government to be wasting money".

The launch of the Agriculture Development Bank will happen in three phases, the agriculture minister Siang said. He said that at first, to kickstart and test out the effectiveness on the institution, ADB will begin its activities in a couple of selected counties in Handuba, Nimanggi and Wehealin, as those are the three biggest farming provinces of the nation, as well as the poorest. Later, the activities will move province-wide, cooperating with the provincial governments on establishing branches in respective territorial divisions, with the final phase being the complete beginning of operations nationwide. "It is a major reform, and we don't want to rush it in any way possible. Making well-considered and firm decision is the key to success, I am sure", said Siang.

Armed Forces of Bianjie to undergo yet another reform and modernisation effort
Defence Minister Barra and the Chief of Defence Staff Cengni say Befugun will update its equipment and training exercises

It has been more than a year since the joint patrols of the Sovereign Sea with the armed forces of Xsampa ended, following the increasingly unstable situation in the southeast and concern over rapid autocratisation efforts and rampant threats coming from the Vascanian government, which additionally announced the reopening of the Beiteynuese military base in the country. With all of that in mind, the Ministry of Defence, alongside the Joint Defence Council, have announced the second round of modernisation of the Armed Forces of Bianjie starting next year.

Previously, following the joint patrols with Xsampa in February last year, the defence minister Ajige Barra had requested the independent commission to review the performance during the patrols, and the current state of the three branches of the nation's armed forces. A commission of 5 people, those being the independent military experts and retired generals, has concluded in a report released in May, that the current Befugun resources may not be enough to launch a counterattack; however, it could be slightly enough to defend, especially considering the mountainous nature of Bianjie, and little amount of coastal territory to defend.

Nevertheless, the report highlighted the current problems of the Armed Forces, prompting the new government, led by Ajigen Kode, to launch a second reform of the military in 20 years. According to the Chief of Defence Staff, Karmasi Cengni, both the Befugun and Kokubōshō leadership are looking into changing the military exercises, making them more fitting for modern times. As Cengni points out, the current training books used by the Bianjian military have not been reviewed in almost 100 years. "Obviously, that requires our utmost attention, cause if we have to defend ourselves using tactics this old, who knows what can happen", said Cengni.

Additionally, the nation's defence minister, Ajige Barra, has announced that the ministry and government will be discussing with the governments of Egelion and Xsampa the topic of military equipment. Minister says that the government, ideally, would love to lay the foundation for having our own to produce weaponry and equipment, but at the same time, it is ready to become the importer of the gear manufactured abroad. "We want our own high-quality equipment, surely, but it is obvious to anyone that we will not be realise that sooner or later, so our option is to look in the world, and luckily, we have already tried out partners in this", said defence minister Barra.

Haseku announces the rollout of the first model of the Ishunedun series

The state-owned public car manufacturer, Khanate Car Factory, also known under its brand name, Haseku, has announced the rollout of the first batch of models of the first series of cars, called Ishunedun, meaning head wind in the Bianjie language. Together with the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Trade, the state-owned manufacturer unveiled the Hasuke Ishunedun, a subcompact family passenger model, presented in the Palace of Arts of the capital city of the Beine Province, Niyalma.

According to the Minister of Economy, Industry and Trade, Eidu Baijin, the public manufacturer expects to roll out up to 10 thousand Ishunedun units by the end of the second quarter of 5665, having built more than 80% throughout the years before the presentation, with one of those models being the main hero of the reveal in Gemun's Palace of Arts. "Ishunedun truly is a vision of the development of our economy, of our industry. Hundreds, if not thousands, of Bianjians put their heart and soul into the creation of these cars, and we are certain that those models will be a great final kickoff of our domestic industry", said the minister Baijin.

Over the course of the next 5 years, Haseku plans to work on three new models through the development and upgrades of the technology used in both manufacturing and inside the car. "We hope to pick up speed with the new development centre in Cikirame. Our goal is to develop our models within 60 months at most. We will launch the right models at the right speed and with the right partners. The Ishunedun vehicles meet the different technological requirements of Bianjian customers with their drive systems for the volume and full-size segments, and range extender technology", said the executive director the Haseku, Laimbu Laimo.

How do the Big Three banks operate today, and what's the future for them?
As Bianjie's economy rapidly expands, it is crucial to analyse the banking industry, understanding its functions and exploring how it can facilitate growth

For the last couple of decades, the Bianjian economy saw rapid growth as the nation exited its decades-long isolationist policy and approach, opening the whole country and its market to the world's largest investors and financial structures. And with the liberalisation of the economy, the nation's banking industry began to grow similarly, if not more expeditiously, which in turn resulted in the creation of the Big Three, consisting of the Hikona, Cisubank and Aisin banking groups. Bekkei sat down with the heads of the three largest banks in Bianjie to discuss the current state of the banking system in the country, and the vision of the Big Three for the future, both inside and outside of the nation.

Bane Lengsavad, ethnic Suman and the chairman of the Aisin, said that even though the bank he leads did grow significantly in the past couple of decades, it remains mostly stalling in place now, but he added that the bank keeps serving its clients with "simple yet stable operations". According to Lengsavad, Aisin does plan to move on and expand its services beyond the homeland, but it requires significant resources and support, which the government is ready to give to Aisin and other major financial institutions, the spokesman of the Ministry of Finance, Alin Durre, told Bekkei when we asked him about the possibility of support from Kōtei.

President of the Cisubank Group, Jakdan Kuicelik, agreed with Lengsavad, but emphasised that his banks have it better than his counterparts at Aisin, with billions invested in the country's infrastructure and businesses, with many of those earning enough to profit. But, Kuicelik says, similarly to Aisin, Cisubank is looking to expand abroad, and is currently focusing on structural reform by optimising business and financing structures, and actively participating in the high-level opening up of the financial sector by offering better services to help domestic firms go global and overseas companies enter the Bianjian market.

Meanwhile, Liang Yanja, who's leading one of the oldest banks in the country, says Hikona is actively working on constantly improving a comprehensive, proactive and intelligent modern risk management system, and continues to do a good job in countercyclical management of financial risks under the new situation, as well further improving its toolbox to support local governments' efforts in resolving existing debts and strictly controlling debt increments, Yanja said. While Hikona is also considering the expansion of its operations outside of Bianjie, Yanja says that the group is still remaining loyal to the domestic customers, and is actively optimising its credit structure for the real estate market and providing financial support for home rentals, renovation of shanty towns in cities, and affordable housing projects, as a part of its social strategy, in cooperation with the central and provincial governments.

It is worth mentioning that while the Big Three seem to do good, there is still a big amount of opposition to Aisin, Cisubank, and Hikona facing from the SMEs, who consider the three largest banks in Bianjie to hold a monopoly, and deprive smaller institutions of any growth, supported by the government's efforts. But both the State Council and the Big Three dismiss those attacks, claiming that the prosperity of the ACH is in Bianjie's national interests, and according to Bekkei's sources, operatives of Cisubank are looking for Dovanian countries with markets open enough to enter.

Bianjie and Xsampa hold joint air force exercises in the Sovereign Sea

NAMUŠUN: Just three years after the previous training exercises held jointly by the armed forces of both Xsampa and Bianjie in their near waters of the Sovereign Sea, the leadership of the two nations had announced a month earlier that AFB and XDA would conduct an air force exercise at the Giyoo Military Base near the Namušun. Air force exercises continue the series of joint efforts from both Xsampa and Bianjie to modernise the armed forces and maintain the military's integrity, as concerns over the Vascanian threat in the Sovereign Sea remain high. 

Before the exercises were conducted by the militaries of the two nations, the Bianjian civilian and military leadership had announced that the Befugun would undergo a second major organisation and structural reform of the nation's armed forces, as a part of the further modernisation of the AFB, following the preceding joint exercises with Xsampa. Ever since the announcement, the government had disclosed that it was in talks with the defence companies of Egelion about the acquisition of military equipment and further cooperation on the construction of the naval ships for the Kaigun. "Let it be known that we value and respect our friends and allies in the north, who remain the great partners on many fronts for Bianjie and Dovani as a whole", said the Minister of Defence Ajige Barra.

Coming into the exercises, which would later be called the Quiet Storm, Bianjie had announced that, in cooperation with the Xsampan military officials, it had prepared a programme for two weeks of the QS on the Bianjian coasts. According to sources close to the Kaigun high command, the programme included a realistic combat scenario, carefully conducted within the areas of the Giyoo Military Base, putting two teams against one another, with pilots of both countries mixed between the teams as equally as possible. While most action did happen in the air, according to the main focus of the exercises, the very important part was the inclusion of ground support through real-time monitoring, post-mission reconstruction of manoeuvres and tactics, participant pairings, and the integration of range targets and simulated threats, as well as electronic devices which send out signals simulating anti-aircraft artillery and surface-to-air missile launches, providing valuable surface-to-air training.

After two weeks of intense training, the Quiet Storm was officially over, with the soldiers and officials of the Xsampan Democratic Army leaving the country the very next day via train to Gemun and the Xsampa-Bianjie Railway to the Metz-Leonid. Minister of Defence Barra thanked the Xsampans for their "continuous support of Dovanian strength and resistance" and "equal participation" in exercises like these. Later that day, Barra would call his western counterpart to congratulate him on successful joint operations, adding that while there were no explicit proposals made yet, the Bianjian side is ready to coordinate on the next military exercises with the Xsampan side "as soon as it is needed".

Bianjie National Railways network expansion will not stop anytime soon, the CEO Etung says

In an early morning press conference today in Niyalma, the chief executive of the state-owned Bianjie National Railways company, Jakdan Etung, announced the construction of two new major lines, connecting southern Bei and northern Khani provinces, notably Niyalma itself and Gemun with Namušun, as well as up to 8 smaller provincial lines, to expand the accessibility of the rural areas of the country with the administrative centres.

Etung, in a room filled with journalists and BNR's workers at the Niyalma Media Centre, discussed in detail the ten new railway lines that will be constructed over the next decade, as well as the current state of the network, the future plans to expand or upgrade the rolling stock. However, he noted that the timetable is highly dependent on financial, climate, and manpower conditions, which could either delay or accelerate the progress. The major expansion announcement is one of the final phases of the Rail 5675 plan, which was outlined by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport back in 5650. This plan included significant expansion into rural areas and an overhaul of BNR's operations through structural and material reforms. Currently, both the State Council and Kokutetsu expect to complete these new railroads by 5675. Sources within the government indicate that the Premier and her team are already drafting another development plan for the railway network, labelled Rail 5700.

Ten new lines, announced by the CEO of the Bianjie National Railways, include two major lines crossing the nation, with one beginning its route at the suburbs of Gemun, going directly to the north, with a couple of stops at the previously built stations, as well as the newly constructed ones in smaller rural counties and settlements. When asked whether the line would cross Ersangi, Etung responded negatively, saying that the point of the new Gemun-Niyalma, besides connecting two major cities of Bianjie, is also an accessible connection for the people in more distant and "empty" areas of both the people and proper transit systems. The other major interprovincial line includes a similar direct route to Niyalma; however, this time from Namušun. The new line will pave new paths for the state-owned rail operator, as well as cross and stop at already existing lines and stations. Etung said that as of today, the third and second most populated cities of the country lack a direct connection, resulting in either the overwhelming of the present routes or the increased usage of airlines and highways, which are "less capable" of safely transporting people, Etung said.

Other eight minor lines on the provincial level will be supervised by the Kokutetsu, but most of the work will be done by the local governments, with the help of the central government, according to Jakdan Etung. "It must be said that those eight lines were planned in a very close cooperation with the provincial governors and their respective governments, because they know much better their local needs and problems", said the chief executive of the BNR. Among those lines are: two routes between the capital city of the Handuba Province, Caidoo and towns to both the east and west of the capital; two routes between Niyalma and the westernmost towns of the Bei Province, as well as a direct route from the Ambagašan to Niyalma; a circle line around the suburbs of Gemun; and two lines connecting the coastal cities, including the capital Cikirame, of Gunali Province with its rural and mountainous southern parts.

All of those ten lines will be constructed for the current stock and used system; however, the BNR is looking into the creation and launch of the high-speed railways, something which could significantly enhance the existing network, if or when it will undeniably become much tighter and overwhelmed by passenger usage. "We do not have such problems currently to launch it, but we are not ruling out that there will be a high-speed rail in Bianjie one day", said Etung.

Regarding the rolling stock of the company, CEO Jakdan Etung said that the rail operator is currently in conversation with the State Council about the funding, national car manufacturer Haseku and other small manufacturers about the construction of Bianjie's own modern trains to support the domestic industry, as well as make the acquisition cheaper than buying from abroad. According to Etung, there is already progress, and the first mock-ups of the possibly new trains coming from the smaller manufacturers, as well as proposals from Haseku, but it is uncertain yet whether those will ever come to life, as the negotiations between the companies of Kokutetsu are still ongoing. "We have a clear vision and will to make this real, but certainly, there are a lot of factors that depend on others; however, we will still do our best", said Etung.
