SDLP prevail in 5683 elections in landslide majority; Alaiza Kubitchek to become President.

On November 8th, millions of Kundratijians cast their votes once again. However, instead of a KPP victory like the last two elections, the Social Democratic Labour Party prevailed. Not just narrowly or slimly but in an overwhelming majority. The country effectively shifted leftwards towards the SDLP, voting in Alaiza Kubitchek as President with 77% of the vote. An almost 27 point increase from last election. In the Legebiltzarra, the SDLP also secured a major victory, going from a coalition partner to a governing majority with about 263 seats, out of 450. The only regions the SDLP stumbled in, was in Etxea, Cildania, and Jildrath, with the former two going to the KPP strongly and the latter going to the newly formed BzK.

For the opposition, particularly the KPP, this has been a rather disappointing defeat, losing both their majority and the presidency, with the KPP plummeting to 159 seats. Boris Kunetsov, had the following statement to say regarding the election.

We are not happy with the electoral results and we think we can do better in Pilgon and Kasaema. We're happy with the conduct of the election itself and while we would prefer to be in the seat of the President and having a majority in the Legebiltzarra, we are content with these results and are proud to hand over the power of government to the opposition. We are fully committed to the rule of law, to democracy, and to the peaceful transition of power and while we have fought a hard and strong campaign we recognize that we lost today and they simply did better.

Despite holding a supermajority, the SDLP has chosen to form a coalition with the BzK, arguing that a developmentalist coalition will be vital, irregardless of ideology, with the BzK winning 28 seats. Beyond that, the SDLP can celebrate this victory as Kundrati has taken a left wing turn towards the pink tide. With Alaiza Kubitchek set to become President, Kundratijian democracy is becoming more secure as a major peaceful transfer of power is being carried out. But now the real question will be whether Fourth Way Social Democracy can actually work. It's electable, but whether it can govern or not is yet to be seen. But for now, the SDLP can celebrate this victory, both for Kundratijian democracy, and for the SDLP.
