Egelian-Jelbic mixed cuisine hits Kundrati shores as so-called "Egelbic" fusion restaurants pop up in Etxea, Celania and Kasaema regions

Kasaema - As Vanukans and Egelians pour into the Kundrati Union as per their economic obligations on reconstructing the country's infrastructure, a strange and new kind of cuisine situation has appeared in Kundrati. Especially in Celania, Etxea and Kasaema where they are headquartering and massing themselves in, the cuisine of Egelion and Vanuku has seen a growth in popularity alongside the famed chocolate hummus and the pintxos of the southern regions of our country.

The trend has appeared to the point where not just separate Egelian or Jelbic restaurants have appeared throughout our country, so have "Egelbic" fusion restaurants. A portmanteau of Egelian and Jelbic, they serve meals from regular Kundrati pintxos and beer to tacos made of lamb from Vanuku. Some restaurants are merely bars capitalizing on this Egelbic trend with Egelian rice shaped into cubes with a small slice of lamb on top served with Dundorfian or Kundrati beer (as an example) while other restaurants have decided to go with a more luxurious feel serving, for example, chorizo and meat pies served with a local sauce with ul boov (biscuit) on the side.

Individuals going to these places tend to be both young and mainly focused on the construction and related trades as they need a quick homely bite to rejuvenate their bodies for the long work day. Egelbic bars in particular have become very popular with the youth as they spend their lunches and evening rounds enjoying Kundrati's imitation of the cuisine of these two nations in particular. These bars also have televisions on with soap operas and movies imported from Vanuku with subtitles on. Though older interest in these bars are low due to living under Legionary or Vanguardist standards of entertainment or cuisine, some older people have gone to these establishments and enjoyed a fine meal. These kinds of restaurants, as a result, aren't necessarily a hit in Peghonai or Lirnak however even there the youth have taken to these restaurants like hotdogs and ketchup.

Of course the quality of these establishments have to be questioned. As the supply chain starts to wind itself back up various foodstuffs may not be available and these restaurants often run out of various foodstuffs as the work day continues and demand skyrockets. Egelians and Jelbs from far away can also tell if it is a Kundrati person making these foodstuffs or if it is one of them - and so far the quality of these foodstuffs may be very much low quality were it to be imitated back in Vanuku or Egelion. More high end restaurants catering to this trend can stave off most of these concerns and are more likely to have high quality Jelb or Egelian product available however even these foodstuffs can be quite a acquired taste for a Jelb or an Egelian. For Kundrati individuals, however, it doesn't matter as it's a new and strange foreign taste that the youth are rushing to try.
