Branovice - As Badara ascends as the freshest member in SOMECO the southern nations of Majatra are about to meet in the port city of Branovice for what will become one of the most monumental summits of the organization to date. During this summit, which will be lasting a full week, member states will discuss several proposals outlined by the Imperial State of Istalia during previous sessions of the organization. These proposals include far reaching intergration of SOMECO economies, common tarrifs, almost full free movement for citizens and a wide variety of other measures meant to further intergrate the member states of SOMECO. Besides these Istalian proposals, the Grand Empire of Deltaria has also proposed the introduction of the mechanisms for SOMECO when it comes to issuing sanctions, seeking to give SOMECO the power to draft and issue organization wide sanctions on individual states or trade blocs, as well as individuals. This proposal would grant the SOMAC (South Majatran Commission) to draft such sanctions, with a unanimous vote in the SOMEC (South Majatran Economic Council) required for sanctions to take effect.
Branovice will host delegations from all member states to discuss these proposals, with all attending seeking to further strengthen SOMECO as a trade bloc and improve its standing as a stable regional economic bloc. At the end of the session, a vote will be held within the SOMEC which could result in the proposals being accepted or rejected. Prime Minister Lazarescu called the upcoming summit "historic in so many ways" and was "eager to host these important Majatran allies, with all seeking to further strengthen our bloc and create prosperity for our people."
