Seluco-Kundrati immigration and human rights group holds fundraiser for the "Plight of Seluciana", raises money to set up immigration intake centre for opposition Selucians
November 5688
Jildrati City - After the ongoing situation in Selucia caused extreme controversy, especially with regards to the neutral non-aligned Kundrati's quiet over the affairs of a state far from Kundrati's shores, members of the Kundrati public have come together hearing of the plight of the Selucian people being attacked by their autocratic regime. The regime has become so unpopular and the vigor so high that a recent fundraiser event held by the Seluco-Kundrati human rights group "Selucia Hope" raised at least 600,000 Kuno for the building of a intake centre for any Selucian citizen or resident who wishes to escape from the regime.
The new intake centre, which is being built immediately to address the concern of the Selucian situation, will provide temporary housing in the form of tents. A field has been secured for these tents alongside two buildings: a soup kitchen with some seating alongside an administrative centre. The soup kitchen will provide hot meals to the individuals being housed and will contain a small indoor area for people to sit down and enjoy food. Individuals are also welcome to take their foodstuff home or use the space to eat their own foodstuff they bought from nearby. The administrative centre will provide office space for triage and intake of individuals from Selucia who wish to have a place to live while they figure out either how to travel somewhere else or to figure out more stable housing in the country. The administrative centre will also have a small clinic for minor injuries while more severe injuries would be taken care of in a nearby medical clinic.
Though this effort is, according to some, shabby and not necessarily best for long term stabilization, the group "Selucia Hope" stated that the centre will be made available as soon as it is built to address the immediate need that is required of Selucians currently being harmed by this regime. The centre is expected to be open by December as tents have already been secured with beds. The group has also said they are working with housing groups and homeless shelters throughout Kundrati so that the centre could allow Selucian immigrants to find better quality housing as soon as it is made available alongside providing for transportation to these shelters.
When asked if Selucian Yeudis would also be allowed into the centre the group said that Selucians of any race or belief are welcome to the centre.
Additional fundraisers will be held shortly by the group to encourage individuals to donate for the centre and for obtainment of better housing and transportation to these housing centres. In addition, several Kundrati individuals from north and south have offered their homes to any Selucian who may be interested in additional housing.
We asked the Government for a formal response to these measures and so far none has been provided.
