BAGNI DI SAN DAMIANO - In a meeting as sudden as it was unexpected, Minister Secretary of State Marina Cantalamessa hosted the Prime Minister of Deltaria, Marin Lazarescu, yesterday at the villa set among the gentle hills of Bagni di San Damiano, in the Solocasie Islands, where she has been spending a few weeks on holiday to escape the summer heat of Romula. Sources confirm that, after a series of lengthy phone conversations with the Deltarian leader that had occupied her throughout the week, Cantalamessa eventually decided to invite him for a direct, face-to-face discussion.

The meeting, which lasted nearly all day and was shrouded in the utmost secrecy, reportedly focused on shared security issues and, above all, the international implications of the Selucian crisis. In recent months, with the approval of the SOMECO reforms and the activation of the new joint sanctions mechanism against Scipio's regime, Deltaria, Istalia and their partners have embarked on a path of increasing diplomatic, economic, industrial and commercial coordination and integration. However, the "noble-minded yet chaotic" international reaction triggered by the atrocities committed by Scipio’s regime in Selucia, with countries from across the globe poised to deploy ships and troops to the region in an uncoordinated manner, has heightened fears of further uncontrolled destabilization in north-western Majatra.

According to sources close to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, concerns are growing in Romula that Selucia could turn into a new "Amudim" or a new "New Endralon & Kizenia": an additional geopolitical hotspot in Majatra, marked by devastating internal fragmentation and potentially conflicting foreign interventions. The disintegration of Selucia's central authority and the proliferation of armed factions raise fears of uncoordinated international actions, driven by divergent interests, with consequences that could shape the global, and particularly Majatran, geopolitical balance for decades.

During the meeting, Cantalamessa and Lazarescu carefully considered not only the interests of the two countries but also the broader Majatra context: geographical, historical, ethnic, cultural and geostrategic factors that will shape the future of the continent.

Lazarescu left that night for Deltaria, taking off from the small yet busy international airport of Porto San Filippo, the same airport where he had landed. His sudden arrival and departure caused considerable disruption to the island’s logistics and to the many tourists currently flocking to the archipelago, all caught off guard by the unexpected invitation from the Minister Secretary of State.

So far, no official statement has been released or leaked from the two governments. But the meeting in Solocasie, sudden, informal but also highly relevant and symbolic, could mark the beginning of a new phase in Istalian-Deltarian relations, with the long shadow of the Seluncia crisis acting as a catalyst.
