Quite a comforting sight for many sore eyes was the announcement of the results of the 5689 federal elections of the Triad Republic. The Vereinigte Volkspartei and its presidential candidate as well as incumbent Stadhouder Karl-Heinz Sztermann have won their respective elections with an overwhelming majority, the electorate on social media speak of a “righteous conservative landslide” and a “punch in the gut for corrupt leftists and centrist Schuhbeck-bootlickers.”

In federal parliament, the Senate, the conservatives have won 44% of the vote almost handing them an absolute majority, while they did not reach that goal, this is the biggest a party has gotten since the breakdown of the two party system after the Lackmann-coup. The Senate conservatives with their leader ‘Bigman’ Berger have the freedom of choice in regards to a coalition partner, while no one expects them to choose the Social Democratic GRP, the possibility is theoretically possible which would lead to a government with a constitutional majority. This potential super-majority could be useful in plans for institutional safekeeping, plans which in the context of the Schuhbeck disaster seem like a sensible democratic safeguard to have. Speaking of the Social Democrats: The GRP too have made large gains (33%) mostly at the cost of the DRP which has not even made it into the Senate, immediately dissolving after the election night ended. Now 77% still leaves a large chunk of the electorate open, two new parties which replace the Thallerist hole left by the rebranded NU have each earned the confidence of 10% of the electorate. The United Triad Party for Thallerist Liberalism and the United Triad Party for Liberal Thallerism led by Werner as well as Warner von Thaller have consolidated a lot of disgruntled voters from all sectors of the political landscape. Some politically uneducated members of the public have questioned the necessity of two Thallerist parties and voicing their confusion at the seemingly subtle differences of the two parties. Political Analyst and Expert for Jelbo-Triad relations Ulf van Houskrnkrék explains that the difference between the two Thallerists parties is “quite obvious to the knowing eye.” He continued “The UTP-FTL advocates for a very distinct kind of Thallerism with free market liberal or rather market economics characteristics while the UTP-FLT obviously instead leads campaigns on the basis of Liberalism with very easy to spot Thallerist traits.” The former junior partner in the Schuhbeck-coalition, the far-right National Union have managed to “stay alive” politically but barely managed to win enough votes to beat the threshold to the Senate.
The presidential race revealed the least surprising turn of events: Sztermann, who actually ran unopposed has managed to win 100% (who would have thought?) with a turnout of 89% of the electorate making their way to the ballot boxes to show their support in the steadfast Stadhouder responsible for beating the political deadlock caused by the undemocratic actions of the traitor-President Schuhbeck. Sztermann ran on a campaign of stability and in his words “fixing the geopolitical mess left by the soft-communists known as the Democratic Republicans.” So what can we expect? A double dose of the orange lion dominating politics.
