It was announced this morning from Sorsuela Palace that King Leon Alexander married his longtime friend Isabella de Dampier y Ferrer last weekend in a private event in Altea. The Office of His Majesty released a statement stating that the King and Queen of Egelion preferred a private ceremony in Altea in contrast to a large, global wedding. Many palace sources say that the privacy of the wedding was important to their majesties, with King Leon Alexander himself being secluded for a large part of his childhood. According to sources, the Queen herself stated "not all weddings and funerals must be a spectacle for those to see".

The wedding itself hosted several Egelian noble families such as those found on the Royal Council. Several other minor families were also in attendance. For the first time since King Amadeo, an Egelian king has married within the Egelian nobility instead of foreign houses. King Leon Alexander and Queen Isabella are expected to take a honeymoon trip to southern Canrille next summer to enjoy the weather and "enjoy the populace" before returning to Altea and engagin in new projects. Queen Isabella is, according to those who know her, an iron-willed woman and always seeks to insert influence where it may not be needed. Some say she may be making moves to influence the royal council, while most believe she is an elegant figure that adds a new dynamic to the Egelian royal family.
