"Errante": The new Veriscope phenomenon between medieval epic, intrigues and a quest

With a triumph no one had predicted so quickly, "Errante" (The Errant), Veriscope's new flagship series, has become the most-watched title of the year in Istalia in just a few weeks, uniting audiences and critics in near-unanimous acclaim. Set in the second half of 11th-century Istalia, the series transports viewers to a dark, violent and extraordinarily vibrant world, where the fate of the Peninsula is played out between aggressive courts, unscrupulous merchants, collapsing kingdoms, and distant powers on the rise.

At the center of the story is Galeno of Lentia, a disgraced noble exiled from Alaria, who has turned his ruin into a profession: that of a mercenary and spy. Cynical, disillusioned and hardened by years of battle, Galeno traverses a continent in turmoil, moving between the magnificence of the court of the Kings of Tulino, ambitious rulers determined to unify the Peninsula and impose their domination, and the sprawling opulence of the Merchant Republics, where riches conceal plots and daggers in the shadows.

On the other side, the other peninsular kingdoms, now reduced to creaking bastions, desperately try to resist the Tulinese advance, while across the mountains, the mysterious and unstable lands of the Pentarchy in Solentia can be glimpsed, where war and religion are inextricably intertwined.

The series follows the evolution of Galeno, initially driven only by survival and cynicism, as he finds himself protecting a young prince of a fallen kingdom, destined to be eliminated or manipulated by those who see him as a potential instrument of power. The relationship between the two, between reluctance and growing affection, is one of the emotional pivots that most engaged viewers.

As often happens with major historical productions, there was no shortage of discussion about the narrative licenses, inaccuracies and artistic choices made regarding the events of 11th-century Istalia. But the controversy, far from damaging the series, has strengthened its popularity, creating an increasingly large and active community of fans, ready to defend the work or analyze its every detail.

The result? Errante has further consolidated Veriscope's dominance in the Istalian market, holding now nearly 70% of the country's streaming subscriptions. The platform immediately decided to capitalize on this success: the second season is officially in production, with an expanded budget and filming already scheduled in several international locations.

In parallel with the success of Errante, Veriscope has unveiled a rich slate of new productions that promise to further expand its audience. Among the most anticipated releases is "Paralleli" (Parallels), an ambitious science fiction series that spans Terra and an alternate Terra in a parallel universe. The plot revolves around an enigmatic man who manipulates the passages between the two worlds, allowing individuals to pass through, even against their will, kidnapping their substitutes and replacing others with his own men for his own purposes in the parallel reality. His actions, however, risk triggering a catastrophic conjunction of the two Terras, a collapse of the cosmic barriers that the protagonists will desperately try to avert. The series promises to be one of the most original projects ever created by the platform.

There's also great anticipation for "Dorati" (Golden ones), a new teen drama set to capture the imagination of younger audiences. Set in the inner circle of Romula's elite youth, the series follows their lives amid scandals, stormy romances, fierce competition, legendary parties and increasingly oppressive social pressures. Industry analysts predict it could quickly become a generational cult classic, thanks to its mix of glamour, excess and vulnerability.

Regarding announced projects, Veriscope has presented "Chiamatemi Mich" (Call me Mich), a dark and intense mystery drama about a police officer's investigation into his daughter's murder. During the investigation, he discovers a completely different side of the girl's life than he had always believed, a subtle and painful truth that will push him into a vortex of anger, remorse and violence seeking revenge, in a spiral from which there may be no return.

Alongside this, the platform is also developing "Ad Astra" (To the Summit), a political drama that promises to be one of the most ambitious of the season. The series will follow the rise of a young Istalian politician determined to climb the ladder of power with a mix of icy determination, tactical skill and almost implacable cynicism. Intrigue, internal feuds and games of influence within parties and between large corporations, military circles and even the highest levels of the Church, will create a complex and ruthless mosaic, where any alliance can turn into betrayal in a matter of hours.

The new productions conclude with "Gli Stregoni di Wilusa" (The Sorcerers of Wilusa), a grandiose fantasy set in a mythological and magical antiquity, amidst fortified city-states, rival empires, chariot battles and arcane cults, in a world inspired by the Late Bronze Age. Based on the stories of Kundrati writer Julen Etxeberria, the series was shot largely in Kundrati with a mixed Istalian-Kundrati cast. This is the first major project from the Veriscope Artanian Division and it aims to conquer the Artanian market as well.

With Errante now established as the new giant of the television landscape and a diverse and ambitious production portfolio, Veriscope confirms its position as the undisputed giant of Istalian entertainment, poised to dominate the coming years with increasingly bold and spectacular stories.
