Valruzian Chancellor Krystian Barela has traveled abroad to Dundorf to meet with his counterpart, Federal Chancellor Matthias Werner, in what is the first travel outside of Seleya for the Valruzian head of government. The meeting generated expectations in both countries not only because the similarities between both leaders, in their mid-thirties, openly queer and elected around the same year for their respective positions, but also because of the difference in their government coalitions – Barela's current coalition with the conservative Forward Valruzia after the ruling of the Communist Party of Valruzia contrasts with the center-left coalition in Dundorf between the Dundorfian Red Front and the Green Party which replaces the conservative ruling of the NDZP.
The meeting, in which Federal Chancellor Werner acted as host in Dundorf's capital, Dunburg, first started with the official reception of the Valruzian delegation in the capital's airport, from where both delegations were transported to the official Dundorfian government building.
In what is the first official trip of the Valruzian Chancellor outside of the Seleyan continent and has become the first Chancellor to visit Dundorf following the democratic transition, Barela has thanked his counterpart for "an amazing reception" and has hoped that this become "the first step towards a fruitful relationship".
On the table of the official discussion, it has been reported that both officials have brought to the table matters of sports, economy and the further development of diplomatic relations between both nations. One of the most important talkpoints has been the joint announcement of the intentions to host the Football Terran Championships in Dundorf and the Terran Olympics in Valruzia and to support each other's candidacies. "We are well prepared and ready to act as hosts of both events" has said Chancellor Werner.
Apart from that, both Chancellors have discussed economic relations between both nations, with topics such as food exchange and transport being included. Products such as chocolate or agricultural productions from both countries – including those resistant-developed under the Valruzian AgroSo program – were on the table, and others such as Dundorfian uranium. Pharmaceutical drugs and treatments from Valruzia will also start to arrive to Dundorf, and some patients with rare-diseases will be taken to Valruzia for their treatment. In the transport exchange, Dundorf has assured Valruzia the deployment of the latest train models and railway maintenance, beneficial since Valruzia recently expanded their railway network; and in exchange, Valruzia offered its latest models in modern aircraft both civilian and military, developed by Valruzian company Valastra.
"We have found a lot of common points of interest between our two nations" said Chancellor Barela at the end of the three-day visit, which apart from commercial discussions and exchange included a visit to Dundorfian major landmarks hand by hand with the Federal Chancellor, who highlighted "the good spirit of both heads of government" in what both believed to be "the first step towards a fruitful relationship".
Valruzia's heavily protectionist agenda – partially installed and developed partially by Chancellor Barela's own Sovereign Valruzia – have only recently developed closer relations with the Artanian nations of Narikaton and Darnussia – more related to the Triad's base in Kampanian port – and Kundrati, but otherwise have not explored closer relations with other nations across the ocean, at least until now. "We have invited Chancellor Werner to come and visit the wonders of Valruzia next time, and we do hope for a closer relation between our two nations. It was truly a pleasure to be here".
