Magenta majority becomes slimmer, as a new party enters the Yuan

GEMUN: Governing coalition of the Socialist People's and Progressive Communist parties, also colloquially know as the "magenta coalition", can finally let out a big sigh of relief, as the two parties will remain in charge of the government, though with a slimmer majority of just three seats, meaning there is no need to invite a third party into the coalition, keeping a socialist Heshen Asuke in the position of Premier, leading the nation's government, the State Council.

Still, despite all that, a new political record was set yesterday, following the election, as the nation's supreme legislative body, the Khanate Yuan, is now composed of seven political forces, the highest amount in more than 50 years, back when Bianjie had the mixed parallel voting system. This happened after the newcomer to the Bianjian political scene, the Bianjie Sovereignty Party, which was formed by former SPP members who were unsatisfied with the leadership's position on the neighbouring Xsampa and the general pan-Dovanist stance, had finally crossed the 3% hurdle to enter the nation's legislature after two unsuccessful attempts. "People want change, people want a different kind of politics, and our task is to deliver it to them in the next five years", said the leader of the BSP, Desiku Ujigit.

On the other hand, PCP, which had kept most of its electorate going, surprised many who had considered the previous electoral cycle's boom a one-time wonder for the communists. Still, falling from 14,4% to 12% is a significant change, but not enough to push PCP away from the government and relevance. "Here is why so many people have voted for us yet again: because we are working hard, and it shows, simple as that. And to all those doubting us: you disrespect the voters above all, not us", said PCP's national secretary, Tana Duyar. However, almost all, if not all, votes from the PCP went to the socialists, so overall, magentas have not lost much.

As the right-wing struggles amongst itself, the left preserves its spot at the top, staying in office for 5 more years, with many new megaprojects, domestic and foreign policies to go and realise. Heshen Asuke, in his victory speech at the SPP party headquarters in Gemun, has said that the Bianjian people are seeing "very clearly that the promises are being fulfilled", and return the favour by voting once again for the "strong and stable people's government". Asuke added that his government will continue the work on the manufacturing industry growth, equal relations with the nation's neighbours, like aforementioned Xsampa and Midway, as well as the business investments, and other layers of the Bianjian economy, to "keep the progress going, keep the money flowing, and keep the new jobs being created daily".
