Millions of Nadiyans headed to the polls today to cast their ballot for the Sixth Confederal Elections of 5695 and unlike previous confederal elections, this specific election stood out for two major factors that will shape Nadiya's future as it prepares to step into the 58th century.

On the presidential side, for the first time ever in the history of modern Nadiya, a candidate from the Writers and Artists Pact for Nadiya managed to not only qualify for the second round of elections but also defeat the incumbent Eva Maria Frolova from the SRs as head of the Presidential Council. Edda Wahl, a drag queen from Zoetergraaf and former president of the Brakavan Free Democracy Republic, ran on a campaign of dissatisfaction from the incumbent parties alongside promoting the idea of further social equality by granting men enough rights so they're truly equal to women. 

A political outsider, Edda is most famously known for being the mastermind behind Brakav's recent renaissance in the field of music and theater with the city of Zoetergraaf as its epicenter. Under her presidency of the "Artistic" republic, the sector of entertainment, leisure, tourism, and artisanship flourished like never before while she managed to successfully strike a coalition agreement with the Brakavan Communist Association and the Social Democratic Party of Brakav, so she knows the ropes power and won't just walk blind into Nadiya's top political office.

While the presidential elections saw the victory of Edda and cementing of FJIP's grip over Haivan through the victory of their candidate too, the Nadiyan legislature saw a massive overhaul of its composition mainly thanks to last year's bill expanding the number of seats in the NGA from 1000 to 1200.

The incumbent parties saw their vote share be cut in half while the opposition rose even further with the exception of the FJIP which seems to still secure 13% of the votes every elections. The biggest winners tonight are most certainly the Pastels and Technocrats as both groups combined vote share makes up 42% of the seats in the NGA, but they couldn't manage to successfully make the HMDP lose their majorities in the Chamber of Nations and the Chamber of justices, meaning that the new chief executive will have to work with the HMDP if they want their bill to pass without a hitch instead of being stalled in the CoN.

At the end of the day, the Pastels are expected to negotiate a viable coalition agreement with either the TAN or PAN alongside electing their leaders into the presidential council while for the first time in the history of terra, a drag queen becomes head of state of a democracy and free country with many looking now at Edda with administration and fascination.
