Merchants and traders from the Eastern Dovani region issued a marine warning to the Institute of Egelian Diplomacy last week regarding the ongoing tensions in Midway and now New Verham. Egelian vessels going into the region saw increased wait times and constant security issues. These issues, couples with loss of diplomatic access to the region, the IDE officially enacted economic and diplomatic sanctions on New Verham, calling their newfound conflict an unfortunate "hindering of Dovanian stability".

Royal Councilor Mondragon held a press conference at the IDE Palace to discuss the conflict and Egelion's potential actions regarding the instability in the region. Mondragon stated that she is set to be in contact with Egelion's closest allies in the region, Xsampa and Bianjie, to ensure that trade is secure and the conflict does not get out of hand. Dovanian stability is essential to Egelion. Any nearby conflict to vital trade routes would be felt all the way to Altéa. The IDE hopes that any avenues of diplomacy or intention could be directly coordinated with Bianjie and Xsampa. Mondragon also started that the Southern Armada, led by the super carrier RAE Triomfant, would potentially be sent to the Sovereign Sea to provide "close support" should the situation escalate in New Vernam. 

The press inquired about Egelion's foreign policy and whether waiting for a long-game diplomatic solution would be best for the nation. Mondragon put down those question, stating that global issues, especially those that directly threaten global trade and supply, must be put down immediately before they spread, making connections to the fascist threat in Rildanor and the murderous regime in Kizenia. The ATENEA Missile System, capable of providing satellite imagery and reconnaissance, has already revealed that conflict in New Verham is escalating beyond diplomatic solutions. "I think we are preparing in advance for what could be a regional defining conflict. We would prefer for stability and democracy to be fully functional in New Verham--for the sake of the region and our allies", concluded Mondragon.
