Emperor Richard II commemorated in Rechtenburg
A nation mourning their King

The funeral was held in Luthori where Governor-General Prince Louis-Ferdinand of Orange-Villayn, Duke of Coliwick, attended the funeral of his sovereign and kinsmen. He was joined by the Prime-Minister Henry Humperdinck, the leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition and the Speaker of the Federal Parliament. There they were granted an audience at Orange Palace with the new Emperor-King, William XI, who succeeded his father Richard II as King of Mordusia.
On the 10th of December His Majesty was remembered in a special session of the Federal Parliament with in attending representatives of all six states of the Commonwealth in Rechtenburg Palace, the official seat of the Monarch in Mordusia. There Governor-General Prince Louis-Ferdinand and the Prime-Minister addressed the nation. In the address the Governor-General cited that occasion such as these are ‘’difficult’’ for ‘’we lose a great sovereign, end his story and reign over our nation’’ but at the same time ‘’opening a new exiting chapter with the ascension of his son, William XI.’’
Flags of all states, the Commonwealth and the Imperial Confederation were hung halfmast all throughout the nation, showing solidarity with His Majesty's family, the Imperial Family, but also showcasing the deep loss the nation has suffered with the passing of their long time sovereign. As the governor-general said, with the passing of Emperor Richard II, his son Emperor William XI automatically becomes the new Emperor of Luthori, King of Mordusia, Rightfull Meleh of the Yeudi Homeland and Sovereign of the Imperial Confederation. A corronation is soon to be expected in the Holy Luthorian Empire.
