Foreign minister Rong Litari hosts the Xsampan delegation to finalise the economic union deal

It has been publicly available that for the past half a year, both Xsampan and Bianjian officials have been engaging in a series of negotiations regarding the formation of the economic bloc between the two nations, with the idea of further expanding into the continent, including such nations as Midway, New Verham and others, willing to unite under one banner, economically that is, at least.

For what it is worth, the idea is not a new one, and even before the Xsampa's People's Commissar of Foreign Affairs (PCFA), Mr Kalingpong, has expressed his public support for the idea, there were various attempts at uniting the Dovanian nations economically, diplomatically, or politically. But neither attempt had any major success, and failed 5-10 years after the formation. Now, Xsampa and Bianjie wish to try again, putting aside the mistakes and failed attempts in the past, to negotiate a union deal that would work for nations of any ideological and political standing, as Xsampa officially remains "communist", and Bianjie does not limit itself, making an effort to combine both the capitalist and socialist economic practises under the rule of the Socialist People's Party (SPP). Still, PCFA Kalingpong has stood clear in its vision for a united Dovani, shared by the officials in Gemun: "The path forward for Dovani is a united shared path. [...] An economic union is possible, [...] while respecting the economic differences of all within Dovani".

Yesterday, Bianjie's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rong Litari, hosted his Xsampan counterpart in the MOFA's building in the central Gemun, to discuss the final stretch of the future economic bloc, which will, according to the foreign minister himself, "respect everyone's positions equally, on economy, diplomacy, political system, as long as it remains within the realms of adequacy and regard for human rights". The biggest debate remains, obviously, creating a balanced framework that will be welcoming of both communist and capitalist economic systems within the united bloc, and obviously, that might or might not include a united market. However, it is expected that nations of the Dovani Economic Assistance Bloc (DEAB), the name circulating within the media, will be cooperating much more closely in economic matters, with incentives for member states, a "managed openness"; however, no complete free trade, with certain sectors of the economy in member countries to be protected, as well as the harmonisation of the tariffs, if there any still any. Additional points of the possible final deal include an easier visa regime between member states, with the focus being on work visas, recognition of the credentials across the union and closer cooperation on the establishment of joint cultural and political institutions, like banks, universities and others.

"If there are people listening or reading to or watching this from other Dovanian countries, that are not Bianjie or Xsampa, obviously, I want you to know this, if a deal is to be made, the doors are open, and we will obviously do our best to get all the countries we can to join, and we will be there working hard to make sure the union is working for everyone, that it is profitable and valuable for all the countries, because we want a strong, stable and united bloc, not a temporary one, to score some points, and if a capitalist and a communist countries, like we two, can co-exist, and work as closely, I am sure pan-Dovani union can work as well. All we have to do is try", the Minister of Foreign Affairs Rong Litari appealed to the foreign public during the joint press conference with the Xsampan counterpart, following the end of the meeting. The two diplomats talked about the success of the encounter in Gemun, saying that the two countries are on the finish line, with the historic deal on the formation of the union possibly being finalised and signed by the end of this year.
