A MOMENT WITH THE EMPRESS

In Egelion, the nobility is remains the most important topic--for better or for worse. While some claim to be ok with the type of government in the country, others seek to limit it. By far, the Egelian monarchy is one of the longest standing institutions in the nation since the country's rebirth. After the ousting of the PLN, the Royal Court has seen the birth of several parties. From Constitutionalists to Absolutists, the court represents a majority of the Egelian populace. In the midst of the constitutional infighting, the monarchy remains graceful, in-tact, and ever more sophisticated. It is no longer an object by the people, but an institution for the people. the royals in Egelion represent their people at home and abroad. Today, in an exclusive look, we take a quick peek into the life of Her Majesty the Empress. From garden parties to raising the family, the Empress shows us that even those with divine right to rule have a right to normalcy as well. 

Isabella Clotilda Cruz de Dampier y Ferrer, as her full name, was born from a Canrillaise aristocrat and an Egelian lower noble. She was homeschooled in Caille by her family, leaving no space for her to embrace the public world. She was born and raised to be a keeper of the home as was Ferrer-family expectation. After several years of noble training and homeschooling, Isabella left home at the age of 21 seeking to continue her academic achievements. She wound up at the University of Norterra where, through a pompous study group, she met her love, Leon. the rest is history. 

Isabella's time at Sorusela Palace mimics her time at the Dampier-Ferrer estate: housekeeping and child-making. Her Majesty explains what her day-today life looks like:

Well it's actually very complicated on most days. I find myself between managing family finances, attending charity events, walking through my gardens, and raising my children. My children are dearest to me. I will help them learn and teach them our ways while I occupy myself doing state work. The system in our country is crucial and reliant on a good upbringing. I have the job of raising humble, sophisticated children. that remains my purpose and my life.

 
The Empress find herself strolling at the Gardens at Villamor Palace--at least in the warm seasons. She finds beauty and peace in all of nature. Egelian Vermillions remain her "go-to" calming piece. She strides along the garden paths, smelling and appreciating the greenery. 

I find myself spending too much time in the palace gardens. There is is ever quiet and peaceful. Away from the worries of the world. Away from the noise.

The Empress finds herself immersing in literature. She finds those books on philosophy and enlightened ideals to be her favorite. While she's an occasional and avid mystery reader, she enjoys most to be engaged in political thought and theory. 

Why should I be constrained to these palace walls? Why should I be limited to bearing children? No. This is not the way of the world or of this country. I thank Leon of course for completely abiding by this way. It is said his father was more controlling. I don't believe that should be the fate of women designed by our system. I am free. I have will. I have choice.

The Queen's four children: Alfonso, Felipe, Fernando, and Gabriela are all fortunate to have a mother--and father-- present in their lives. Most royal children, such as Luthorian ones, are often left to their nanny's and handed to fate itself. Hence Luthorian monarchs with bad decision making and critical thinking skills are gracefully left out into our world. In Egelion, the Monrachs make time to raise children, instill peaceful values, and ensure that enlightened ideology is made firm.

I do not want my children to grow up in a world that is decided by animalistic powers. We will know sophistication, properness, and humility. I will have it no other way.

Despite her role as Empress, Isabella makes most of her time in the day dedicated to the future of Egelian nobility. On days where her children are off on their own academic journeys, she reads, takes time in the garden, and handles the family finances. Never too much work in the life of the Empress. While some may attribute her character to Canrillaise eloquence, it is her acquisition of Egelian values and ideals that has made her a model leader throughout the empire. From visiting schools in the empire to engaging with multicultural citizens, the Empress makes it clear: She works for her family and for her people. For without a need of duty and humility absolute monarchy become a folly.
