Military Parade held in Altéa to celebrate Royalist Victory Anniversary and ongoing National Prosperity

With the start of a relative era of peace in Terra, Egelion has achieved what experts are calling "The Age of Prosperity". For years Egelion has intervened in several global conflicts in hopes to establish stability and peace in Terra. As of today, it has finally arrived. With the Anantonese region far away from the fires of conflict, the Emperor decided to celebrate the great achievements of the nation at the royal capital - with a large military parade. 

The parade to celebrate Egelian achievement does not come at a random time. It is also planned accordingly to the anniversary of the restoration of the kingdom long ago. Planned for the 5th of August, the parade is set to feature several units of the Egelian armed forces. Units from the Royal Marines, the Royal Air Force, the Royal Army and the Royal Guard all made an appearance. The parade was used to show off Egelian ingenuity and engineering, highlighting the nation's modern tanks, armed vehicles, drones,  and vehicle-mounted ICBMS. The military parade was only planned to go through the Sorsuela, Centro, and Royal Districts of Altea. Unfortunately, planning for the parade could not be extended as overflow crowds were discovered on the day of the parade, causing some traffic in the outer districts of the city.

Emperor Leon Alexander stood with the Royal Council, the Royal Guard, and staff from Castillo Garibaldi at Plaza del Leon in the center area of the parade. As units of the armed forces marched by, the Emperor in his full military attire, saluted troops and those attending the parade. The Empress and Royal Family watched from Villamor Palace along with other members of the Royal Government. 

The military parade in Altea lasted over two hours as all troops made their way through the prepared route. Analysts and commentators throughout the nation have questioned the decision to hold a parade. With the construction of the Arch of the Centuries was national pride not already satisfied? While there are those who look at the decision with criticism, the majority happily viewed or attended the parade itself. When interviewing individuals at the parade, some said: "We never see these types of events in Terra. There is never show of pride or proper national parade unless it's a state visit or a funeral." Another individual, which matched with our sentiment at El Diario, claimed: "We are a great nation no? We are powerful. We are respected. We have friends and great allies. Why shouldn't we celebrate who we are?"
