Dovani Economic Council comments on Medina; "Membership can only be considered once stability and peace comes to Medina".

The Dovani Economic Assistance Bloc has been gaining attraction lately, and while it only still consists of Bianjie and Xsampa, that hasn't stopped it from having appeal. This year, Medina, showed interest in becoming a member of DEAB, citing potential economic benefits. Normally, this would be fully welcomed, and it partially is, as an expansion of DEAB is a win for Dovani. However, the Dovani Economic Council has raised concerns as Medina is currently experiencing an insurgency issue, something which can disrupt economic development in the country. This week, a spokesperson from the DEC released a statement regarding Medina.

It is recognized that every state within Dovani that meets the requirements to join DEAB, has the absolute right to join. However, given the current state of affairs of Medina, the question of membership cannot be sustained until a permanent resolution in Medina is achieved. We urge for all sides to settle down, and engage in talks to ensure a stable, amicable environment, and then Medinan membership into DEAB can begin.

While the exact situation in Medina is hard to gauge, the Xsampan public has grown increasing interested, as Medina is on the southern most border, and can easily be a cause for concern. The People's Committee of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the situation is being observed however. But, for DEAB, the DEC is also observing closely, and is very interested in promoting the expansion of DEAB. But, that expansion cannot come if stability is absent.
