At 10 am this morning Minister Wrné Lohn-Ginsl announced the successful launch of Wrnuke's own rocket carrying a new satellite. In 5704 Lohn-Ginsl announced his ambition for a tripartite space pact, a project that both the Dual Republic and Amudim were quick to agree to. With experts from the Narikaton, Darnussia and Amudim the Jelbic scientific team made quick progress. The three nations have a near full transparent working atmosphere when it comes to classified projects. For Wrnuke, this launch was a special moment as it marks the beginning of the new Bojuzi Mye project. Within Jelbic culture and the Tanhrist religion the bojuzi mye is also known by its literal translation as the 'evil eye'. It is an all-seeing malevolent glare often caused by envy or by literal curses from enemies, it is also seen as an extension of Tanhri's own influence in life in the sense that it will follow those that commit evil and immoral deeds and punish them accordingly. The most important facet of the bojuzi mye is that it is omnipresent, even in the current day and age the majority of Jelbics wear the turquoise eye-shaped amulet to ward off misfortune and the prying eyes of gods and spirits. It has, due to its presence in Jelbic culture, also become the name of Wrnuke's new satellite project. Currently the Jelbic kingdom has several ageing satellites in orbit with limited capabilities and the Jezkonz Bunjamín Fahmotorzjkakrna Bahthr Bro (Emperor Bunjamín Space Research Agency), in coordination with the ministries of Defence and Science & Technology, set out the ambition to prepare Wrnuke for the future. The Bojuzi Mye project encompasses launching around six satellites operating in either geosynchronous Terra orbit and in highly elliptical orbit. These space-based infrared systems (SBIRS) will focus on relaying information regarding missile warning, defence, technical intelligence and battlespace characterisation.
But this is not the only job these satellites will have. The satellites are required to be multifunctional, with them functioning as both SBIRS and reconnaissance satellites. The different orbits of the satellites will decide whether they are capable of being multifunctional in this regard. A leaked report stated that four out of the six satellites will be in geosynchronous orbits, and as such can function as the 'evil eye' watching over Terra. In cooperation with scientists from Amudim, specifically the Black Beisa facility, a special catadioptric astrophotographic telescope was developed that will be mounted on several satellites. Further technology stacked on these satellites includes radar imaging, nuclear detonation detection systems, and advanced signals intelligence. The JBFBB, Wrnuke's space agency, has assured that all satellites that will be launched in the next few years have also been fitted with telemetry that can analyse the environment it is in. It is the combined mission of the government and the JBFBB to research space and its many mysteries. "These are not just tools for protecting our nation, they are also tools for exploring that final frontier," said Minister Lohns-Ginsl at the press conference. The Minister wore his bojuzi mye necklace over his suit for the occasion, showing his personal connection to both Jelbic tradition and the new project. The JBFBB is hoping to launch the next satellite in four months.
