Snap elections occur as Centrists pull off a victory; Progressive Party secures PM as Mori Itsuki forms a government.

Snap elections have concluded as the Koiso Cabinet was unable to survive a vote of no confidence after the Republic was established. With minor economic recovery occuring, the centrist party's have managed to fend off the far left and far right, with the centrists prevailing. The margin between an SFRP majority and a workable majority for the centrists has changed, as the SFRP and even the communists bled votes. While the SFRP is still a major force, they've suffered some seat losses. Meanwhile, the Progressive Party has managed to succeed in coalition negotiations and has been able to secure one of their own as Prime Minister, forming a coalition with the Liberals and the Cooperative Democrats, even despite the tense relationship between the Liberals and CDP.
As such, Mori Itsuki, first elected Prime Minister of the Republic of Seko has pledged an ambitious domestic policy, looking to focus on economic recovery via the KRT Plan (which has Liberal Support), and revive domestic industries to rebuild Seko's spot in the global economy. Combine that with a State Diet that, while hostile to extremely ambitious agendas, is still ultimately favourable to the centrists and the Itsuki Cabinet can genuinely achieve its agenda, provided it doesn't gamble everything in appeasing radicals. While it's unlikely that the Itsuki Cabinet will make democratic expansion a key component of this term, largely focusing on the economy and economic recovery, Liberals have been in favour of expanding democratization and moving away from an anocracy. Whether that'll happen or not, is yet to be seen.
The extremes however, on the far left and far right have had the expected reactions to what amounts to a social democrat being elected, with the far left decrying Itsuki as a "social fascist", advancing a "bourgeois fascist" agenda. The far right, has in turn, called Itsuki a communist set out on damning the economy to a "depression unlike which has ever been seen before". To, while pressure is still high as ever on the centrists, there's more of a workable majority in the State Diet, and with Liberal support, as well as Cooperative Democrat support, the KRT Plan and other centre left economic relief efforts may be able to pass easily.
