PM shot dead in rally; Iwamoto Kuniyuki succeeds Itsuki.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Seko, Mori Itsuki has been shot dead. During a rally in Eiwa, Itsuki was attempting to rally the public to be more in favour of the KRT Plan and boost democratic enthusiasm. Amidst the crowd however, a gunman managed to shoot and kill him. Police were quickly able to tackle and arrest the gunman, but Itsuki was declared dead long before even arriving in the hospital. Within days, the motive of the gunman was made clear. It was an act of political violence, as the gunman, Noya Kosho was preparing for weeks, as he saw Itsuki as a "radical socialist looking to turn Seko into a communist dictatorship".
Equally in an immediate fashion, the State Diet was thrown into chaos with the entire Diet throwing accusations at one another, as the Liberals and Progressives were quick to blame the inflammatory rhetoric of the far right for this assassination, whilst the SFRP blamed the Progressives for engaging in crypto socialism, and radicalizing the population. Even a few liberals threw blame at the SCKWP for already being a polarizing force in the State Diet. Fortunately for the centrists however, the CDP was able to force a vote on who should succeed Itsuki, and to the surprise of many, it would be a Liberal. Iwamoto Kuniyuki, in specific. In his inaugural speech, Kuniyuki claimed that economic recovery would continue, and that the KRT Plan would continue, albeit from a liberal lense. However, perhaps his most controversial statement was pledging to bring down extremism by any means, and despite the vagueness, it brought considerable controversy. It's no secret that Kuniyuki has always endorsed the idea of banning the far left and far right in Seko, and given he is now PM, it's entirely possible. Especially with the executive power that the PM holds.
If there is one thing clear however, its that the centre is now under a PM who is willing to go to war with the extremists. Whether economic recovery will still continue is still debatable, but the question of political recovery will also need to be asked, as it's clear that Seko is certainly going to go into turbulent times.
