Baatrynsentii - Just ten days following Yeke Anarba's historic reelection campaign, being unoppossed and with his party maintaining a supermajority, that same party is now on the brink of collapse. Tensions between Anarba's "progressive" or "Anarbist" wing of the party and both the conservatives and Mönkhdevshilists already showed during the campaign, when several lawmakers including prominent conservative Defense Minister Jali Bukha, oppossed plans by Anarba to ammend the constitution. 

Under Anarba's plan, he would remove the post of Prime Minister and merge it with the presidency. Additionally, popular elections for the president where to be removed, with the office instead elected by the Supreme Congress. According to Bukha, the reforms "directly contradict the longstanding tradition of electing our leaders by popular vote." He banded together with prominent  Mönkhdevshilists in the party, calling for respect when it come to Mönkhdevshil his original system of government. 

But Anarba, having walked a thin line during his first term, pushed back, no longer seeking to appease his conservative party colleagues. Additionally, a cabinet reshuffle just before the election saw several conservatives removed from their posts, being replaced with Anarba loyalists. When he was reelected, Anarba immediately pushed his "National Rejuviation Act" towards congress, introducing his promised constitutional reforms and proposing a wide variety of measures, including a new electoral system for the Supreme Congress. 

The two sides came to head to head last night as, after a full week following the introduction of the NRA, the Supreme Congress voted in favour of the constitutional reform by the slimmest of margins: one vote. What followed was a unexpected and rare scene, with lawmakers fighting eachother on the congressional floor and the President of the Supreme Congress calling on Congressional police to escort troublesome lawmakers out of the chamber. 

Shortly after the ordeal Bukha resigned his post as defense minister, with countless of lawmakers announcing their resignation from the party. A clash in the making for years was now on open display. Anarba himself has remained quiet, although those close to him have hinted at the possibility for his own part to emerge. Such a development would free him from what he called "the shackles of the big-tent" behind the scene, but would also likely mean a formal end to the PAP, a party that has ruled New Verham nearly completely throughout its recent history. 

The political situation has spooked markets, with New Verham's "Altaai Exchange" closing 200 points less then yesterday. First believed to be a wonder kid, Yeke Anarba is now quickly becoming a polarising but popular leader of a republic still transitioning. The passage of the NRA was signed by President Anarba two hours ago, resulting in the dissolution of the Supreme Congress and yet another election to be scheduled in two months time. The first election that might not see the PAP on the ballot paper.
