Dovani - New Verham, Bianjie and Xsampa have announced the formation of the Dovani Security Consortium (DSC) for the purpose of joint military development projects. The three, all members of the Dovani Security Organization, have decided to create the new DSC as a daughter organization of the DSO with the general secretary of the DSO responsible for appointing a board to oversee operations of the new DSC. The project, born out of the desire to develop and produce more native Dovanian military equipment, will see one of its first projects focus on the creation of a modular naval platform. The new platform, out of which both corvette's, frigates and offshore patrol vessels can be born, is meant to be fully Dovanian made and give members of the DSO platform for patrol and limited combat missions throughout Dovani.
The project, dubbed "Project-001", will see at least 48 defense companies from all three DSO member states participate in the new Dovani Security Consortium, all working together in the design and production of the new naval vessels. New Verham, Bianjie and Xsampa will in turn each pledge 2 billion to the project, resulting in a initial state investment of 6 billion. Additionally, companies participating in the consortium have agreed to invest into the project its design and testing phases, with the three countries pledging to compensate this investment if the project is a succes by paying extra on eventual orders.
The project will be a first for the DSO, which seeks to become less reliant on equipment from known manufacturers like Nadiya, Deltaria, Dorvik and Egelion. It stands independently from the New Verham-Bianjie consortium working on the DF-07 multirole fighter, but is expected to learn from that project as companies participating in it have also been included in the new DSC.
President Anarba called the signature on the creation of the DSC "a true milestone", hoping that more projects will launch in the future and the Dovanian military-industrial complex "becomes more robust in the process." Project-001 is in its early stages, with the DSC hoping to start production on the first vessels within the decade, if all goes well.
